Alder was my fiancé. My fiancé! I thought I would've never said those words. Mainly 'cause I thought I'd never have the courage to actually pop the question, or that he'd accept even though my mom was sure that he would've. Guess that's 1 to Olivia Sense and 0 to Sullivan Sense. I was so excited! Of course we still had to decide on a date to have the wedding but still! I wondered if Alder had been expecting it but, judging by the shock on his face when I did it, he must have not. I caught Alder looking at the ring on his finger, smiling softly. "Is this why you were sweating bullets on the day?" He asked.

"U-uh Huh," I mumbled. "I was nervous to do it..."

"Really?"

"Yeah..." He walked toward me and planted a kiss on my cheek causing my blush to darken. He was smiling.

"That makes sense. I was worried about you. You had never acted that strange before." I smiled at him.

"Well, I didn't want to ruin the surprise. Though I admit, I didn't expect you to act that way when I did do it."

"I was totally caught off guard. Of all things you could be hiding from me, I didn't expect this," he gestured toward the ring," at all." He let out a little laugh. "I'm happy though, it was a nice surprise."

"I could tell you wanted to answer me, but couldn't." He nodded.

"That was the shock, it rendered my muscles useless for a few moments." I smiled. He also did so. He opened his mouth. "Ooh~ I do, I do, I do~ hey!" I laughed.

"I had a feeling you were going to do that," I giggled. "Because Helpless takes place at the wedding of Alex and Eliza, right?"

"Well, technically yes, though it's more of a flashback in a sense."

"And we haven't decided on a wedding date yet."

"Yep."

"I think we should wait at least a few days before deciding on that," I suggested. I mainly just suggested that so I'd have a few days to finally calm down from my 'Holy Crap, we engaged!' state because holy crap, we were. I was maybe a bit too excited. I was due to marry Alder! It's amazing how I could turn from being a nervous wreck about proposing to being super happy about the fact I'm marrying Alder.

"Okay, I think I'm okay with that idea," Alder said, smiling. "I'm happy I'm marrying you. In all my years, I'd never have expected that sometime in the future I'd be marrying someone as amazing as you." I felt myself blush.

"Oh s-shut up!"

"It's true! I spent two years thinking my crush on you would never be reciprocated, and now, here we are."

"I'm sorry, what?" Alder blushed and glanced at me, silent. "You pined after me for two years? How come I never knew of this?" He gazed at the ground.

"I never told anyone," he said quietly. "I couldn't tell anyone. Because the only person I knew was you. And I never made it obvious, because I believed you when you said you were straight." He wasn't sad, he was smiling. "But I couldn't help it. I tried to hide it, but it did slip through at times. But you were oblivious to it and I could breathe knowing that. You were just so goddamn cute at times. I couldn't help but fall for you. Rumours started spreading and I disliked them intensely. Luckily, you never knew what the rumours said because no one told you. When you stood up for me in eighth grade... I... That only made me admire you more. Rodney," his eyes narrowed," he seemed to pick up that I had a secret crush on you, that was fun for him."

"Did he...?"

"He did. He jeered and bullied me for it on top of the bullying he usually did. So when you told him to basically f**k off, I appreciated that more than you knew." I flinched. "Oh sorry, screw off as you put it.." Alder looked at me. "You're just an amazing guy in general Sully." I blushed and gazed at him. "You're really cute when you get flustered..." He gazed away.

"And you felt like this for two years?"

"Yes," he murmured. "I was only hopeful in Grade 8 that you could reciprocate when I suspected you weren't as straight as you thought you were." I blinked at him. "And I'm sure we'll be very happy together."
