Chapter Eight

          Lucy's POV
We made it back to the ship, and just as we did, I heard a roar, and saw Peter's face go pale. Gael, the young girl who had come with her father to find her mum, turned to the captain.

"Was that the volcano?" She asked, but Peter butted in.
"No. That was no volcano." He took off, and the captain turned to the rest of the crew.
"Archers! To the ready! Take your positions!!" He bellowed, and they all scrambled, going after bows and arrows. Then, we saw the one thing none of us had expected, and I heard someone yell.

"Dragon!!!!" I froze in horror as it swooped down towards where Edmund and Caspian were returning to their boat.

     "Edmund!!!"

      Edmund's POV
Caspian and I had found a dragon's treasure, along with another sword......and Eustace's burned clothes. We were heading back when we heard yelling, and Caspian turned around.

"Get down!" He yelled, and I spun around to see a dragon coming right at us. I stumbled, trying to duck, but it caught me. Its claws wrapped around me, and it took off, heading towards the ship.

"Edmund!!" I heard Caspian yell, and I saw Peter, Lucy, and Cahira by the edge of the ship. Cahira had her bow, and she was trying to aim and hit the dragon......Without hitting me. The dragon swooped back to the side, and I cried out in pain, one arrow scraping my leg. It carried me over the mountain on the island, and then I saw words burned into the ground, and my heart dropped. I am Eustace. I looked up, groaning slightly.

"You've got to be kidding me!" He let out a quiet roar, and we headed back for the beach. I managed to explain everything once Peter, Lucy, Caspian, Reepicheep, Gael, and her father came back to shore.

"Everyone knows that a dragon's treasure is enchanted." Caspian said, and Eustace snorted.
"Well, anyone from around here, anyways." He corrected, and Peter looked up at him.
"Aunt Alberta will not be pleased." Peter said firmly, and Eustace groaned. Lucy pulled the bracelet off his leg, getting a cry of pain from him. He hopped backwards, shaking the leg to try and soothe it.

"We'll stay on shore with Eustace, and then figure out what to do in the morning." Caspian said, and Gael's father spoke up.
"But you have no provisions, your majesty. And no means of staying warm." Eustace snorted, nearly sneezing, and a small fireball landed on a pile of sticks laying nearby.

"You were saying?" Reepicheep said, chuckling. We all had to laugh at that. That night, I fell asleep hearing Gael and Lucy talking quietly, and Reepicheep telling Eustace stories. The next morning, we all woke up to hear Lucy yelling, and saw Gael rolling up her blankets.

"Everyone, wake up!! It's the Blue Star!! It's the Blue Star!!" We quickly gathered our things, and hurried back to the ship. We headed off, starting to follow the star. We weren't finding any wind, and the crew was starting to get restless on the third day of rowing.

"If I get any hungrier, I'm gonna eat that dragon!!" One man yelled. I could feel the tension rising, and I saw Eustace flying away, Reepicheep on his back. Then, the ship jolted, and almost everyone fell. I was sitting, but Peter and Cahira were nearby, and Cahira landed on my lap, and Peter almost went over the side.

"What was that?!" He called, and then I looked up, laughing. Eustace had wrapped his tail around the dragon's head on the front of the ship, and was pulling us. With his help, we kept going, and within four days, we came in view of another island. Ramandu's island. Caspian, Peter, Cahira, Lucy, Reepicheep, some 20 people from the crew, and I headed ashore. We came to what seemed to be the centre of the island, finding a large banquet table filled with just about any food you could imagine. I shuddered slightly, seeing a large platter filled with Turkish Delight. Then, Cahira screamed, startling us all, and making me jump.

"What's wrong?" Caspian called, and I moved towards her, looking where she was pointing.
"Caspian, there's three men here!" Peter called, and he came forward. He caught his breath, reaching to feel their pulses.

"They're alive. They're just asleep. And it's three of the other lords." Lucy sighed, almost sadly, and we quickly found their swords, placing the six that we had on the table.

"What could've done this to them?" Lucy asked quietly. There was a lot of mumbling, and people trying to figure it out. Then, someone yelled something.

"It's the food!!" Anyone who had eaten anything froze, and I saw Cahira drop the bread she had been eating. My heart sank, and then a blue light appeared at one end of the table, and out of it, a young woman appeared.

"Welcome. I am Lilliandil, daughter of Ramandu. There is enough for all who are welcome here, at Aslan's table. Why do you not eat?" She raised her hands, lighting the candles on the table. Everyone looked around, and then Peter spoke up.
"We....We thought that....The three lords....We thought the food had put them to sleep." She smiled sadly.
"By the time they had reached the island, they were half-mad, and threatening violence on each other. Violence is not allowed at Aslan's table, so they were put to sleep." Cahira sighed quietly, and I breathed a small sigh of relief.
"Will they ever wake up?" Lucy asked, and Lilliandil smiled slightly.
"When all is put right. Come, follow me." We followed her to the other side of the island, and she stopped, and we saw the same island from the map that Coriakin had showed us.

"There is Dark Island. And that is where the source of the evil is, as well as your future bride, King Peter." She said, and I saw Peter look over there, and he tensed up when he saw it, sorrow filling his eyes.

"Will she also bring freed when this is over?" He asked, and she nodded. Then, Caspian spoke up.
"There are supposed to be seven swords. Do you know where we can find the last?" She nodded slowly, and pointed to the island.

"That is where this can all be finished. The last sword, the source of the evil and the green mist, and where Aslan's daughter is trapped. I hear her, calling out in her mind." She looked at Peter, sorrow visible in her eyes.
"She cries for you and her father, begging for someone to come for her....to help her. And I can also hear what she is hearing in the mist. You must make haste, for I am not sure how much longer she will be willing to keep fighting." Peter clenched his fists, and I could tell he was truly trying not to cry. We headed back for the ship, and started towards Dark Island. As we got closer, I couldn't help but think that this.....This could be the beginning of the end for Sierra if we didn't get there in time.
