Chapter 9
Hermione looked around for the address in her hand, 19 Robinson Street Chatswood. They were in the right suburb, at least.
"Which side of the road is it on?" asked a windswept Harry.
"Dunno." replied Hermione. "They don't number it the same here as they do back home."
"It's odds on one side and evens on the other, right?" said Ginny.
"Yeah."
Ron walked up to one of the houses. "This side's the odds."
"Well, it'll be that side then, won't it?"
Ron rolled his eyes. "No shit Sherlock."
"That was my point." Hermione wiped sweat beads from her forehead. "It's hot."
Harry laughed. "Do you have any other thrilling observations for us, Poirot?"
This time Hermione rolled her eyes, while Ginny laughed. "Shut up." She looked at the address again.
19 Robinson Street.
They were on the right street as well.
Harry looked at the closest house number. "This is number 57. We've got a bit to go." The four of them moved down the street, counting the numbers. 53... 47... 39... 29... 27... 23... 19.
They reached number 19 and Hermione walked up to the door, hesitating before knocking.
"Hey, Hermione, it's all right." said Ron soothingly.
"What if they get mad at me?"
"Then their heart isn't in the right place." He kissed he lightly and Hermione knocked on the door. A man in his late 40s greeted them. Wendell Wilkins.
"Hello! If you don't mind me asking, who are you?"
"Hermione Granger." she said. "Representative from... the Australian Dentists association."
'Wendell' blinked before saying "Ah, yes. Come in."
Hermione stepped into the house and looked around. It looked astonishingly like their house back in London. She heard her father close the door.
"Now, what brings you here?" he asked.
"Erm... just to check in." She fingered her wand on the inside of her jacket. "Is your wife home?"
"Yes she is. Monica!" he called, and his wife appeared in the doorway. Hermione's breath hitched. She looked exactly the same as she had a year ago.
"Hello, I'm Hermione Granger." she said, extending her hand. 'Monica' took it and they shook. Hermione spoke again, fingering her wand. "I'm sorry."
They had no time to speak before Hermione reversed both of their memories with a swish of her wand. Their heads flung back as if they had been hit, and they looked at Hermione.
"Hermione?" asked her mother.
"It worked!" she said, hugging her. She hugged her father and looked at them. "I'd assume you want an explanation, yeah?" She took a breath. "There was a war back home."
"Why are we in... where is this, Austria?" said her dad.
"Australia, Dad."
"So you took us halfway around the world to be safe from a war?" asked her mother.
"Well, yeah, bu-"
"Thank you." she said, hugging her daughter once more. Hermione was taken aback. She thought her parents would have been cross at her for erasing their memories of her, then sending them to a country halfway around the world.
"So you're not angry?" she asked.
"Nah, not at all." said her dad. "Sure, I would have liked to remember you, but, I can't really miss someone if I'd never met someone."
Hermione smiled. "And there's people I want you two to meet." She turned around and walked out of the house to Harry, Ron and Ginny. Addressing her parents, she said "This is Harry Potter, we've been best friends since first year." Harry extended his hand to her dad, who shook it, and her mum, who also shook it.
"This is Ginny Weasley, we've been great friends for years." Ginny did the same as Harry, and both parents shook her hand.
Hermione spoke again. "And this is Ron Weasley, my boyfriend."
Her dad extended his hand before Ron could. "Nice to meet you. I'm Steven, and this is Mary."
"Nice to meet you too." Ron shook both of their hands and stepped back behind Hermione.
"When are we going back to England?" asked Mary.
"Not for a week or so. We kinda want to look around for a bit." said Hermione.
"Alright with me. You can stay here with us if you want, have you got a place?." asked Steven.
Hermione nodded. "We'll stay with you. How many rooms have you got?"
"Three. So you'll have to share. Whom with whom?" said Steven.
"Harry can share with Ginny, and Ron and I can share."
"Sure." said Mary. They all walked inside. The house was clean and in order. "You and Ron can go down that hall, and Harry, Ginny, you can go down that one. Ours is upstairs."
"Thanks Mrs and Mr Granger." said Harry.
"No problems Harry. Call me Steven. Or Steve."
"And me Mary."
"Ok." said Harry, smiling.
Ron and I walked down the hall into our room.
"Your parents are nice." he said.
"Yeah. I'm just so happy they weren't angry."
He laughed shakily. "So am I."
Hermione laughed and hugged him. "Thanks Ron."
"S'alright."

P.S. We went from 500 to 700 views in less than a month. That's amazing guys. I hoped for like 1 view per chapter, and one of them has 100. Amazing. Thanks once again.
