Chapter One

SEOKJIN clambered down the staircase carelessly at the call of his mother. He walked towards the living room, his hair messy and eyes sleepy from his recent nap. Without much of a word, he plopped down on the beanbag beside his father, cuddling into the seat sleepily. "Seokjin." His father called out harshly, catching Seokjin's attention and he quickly sat up, apologizing quickly to his father who was giving him a disapproving look.

"Seokjin." His father repeated, although a bit calmer this time, placing down his cup of tea on the table, "I'm pretty sure you remember Taehyung." Seokjin does, so he nodded shakily, playing with his hands. Of course he remembers the same person he had spent half of his childhood and made it fun while the other half was something he'd never talk about. "We arranged something." Mr. Kim said, folding his knees to look at Seokjin, "Eye contact when I'm speaking to you, Seokjin Kim."

The brown haired male muttered a soft sorry, looking up at his father with scared eyes."A-Arranged what, Father?" Seokjin asked.

"We are planning to get you and him to settle down." His father started, "And no, you cannot just resist this, you don't have a choice, we have already talked about this, his parents and myself." Seokjin's eyes widened, glancing at his mother for help but getting nothing in return. "You can go now." His father dismissed, turning away from him to look down at the newspaper. The brown haired boy nodded slowly, getting up to walk back up to his room.

Seokjin locked the door to his room, pacing around in the small space of a room, a hand placed on his forehead. He hated this, having his parents sell him off to someone that he didn't know – well, not entirely but he haven't seen Taehyung since he was 12 years old, and now he's marrying him? It was such a joke but Seokjin couldn't laugh instead he felt burdened by it. The fact that he was going to get married to Taehyung scared him knowing that he could of take advantage of him anytime he wanted and no one would be there to save him. It scared him.

"You can't just do that to me!" Taehyung yelled before turning to his butler, "Tell her that she can't just do this to me!"

Taehyung's butler nodded before turning to Taehyung's mother, "What Young Master said, Mrs. Kim." The boy scoffed the rolled his eyes, deciding to just ignore the man.

"Mom, I'm serious. I don't want to get married, and to a guy? I don't swing that way!" Taehyung's dad glared at his son for making such a fuss. He sometimes questions if he have a son that goes to college or a son that goes to nursery.

"Taehyung, go to your room and get ready, they arrive in an hour." His mother stated with a fake smile and the boy let out a childish whine, dragging his feet along as he walked up the spiral staircase. Taehyung hadn't seen Seokjin for 13 years, if he counted correctly. Somehow, the older boy was the first person he'd ever been romantically attracted to; even though he was 9 years old back then and don't know shit about what romance is. Seokjin was perfect in Taehyung's eyes and as a kid he used to always look up to the older kid next door. But one day, Seokjin just shut him off and wouldn't ever come out to play or greet him at school. Somehow, they drifted apart and Taehyung hated Seokjin for it, for leaving him shattered at such a young age without even much of a goodbye or an explanation to why. He hated him for being his first love and making it so bitter.

__________

Taehyung grumpily stood beside his mother at the small dinner party at their home that she held for the meeting. He had a small pout visible on his face attempting to show his parents that he's not interested in having anything to do with this arranged marriage. Taehyung let out a huff when he saw his mother standing up excitedly to greet what he could he assume to be Seokjin and his parents.

Seokjin was beautiful – Taehyung gave him that. In fact, the boy was more than beautiful and Taehyung's breath hitched when his eyes landed on him. How can a man be so beautiful? Seokjin had a bitter frown on his face as he walked inside and took a seat on the dining chair, looking down and playing with his hands.Taehyung hesitantly sat down opposite of the older boy, looking at the adults who had themselves soaked in a conversation. Taehyung's mother turned to him with a soft smile, "Dinner time has yet to come, Taehyung baby be a darling and show Seokjin around the garden will you?" Taehyung opened his mouth to argue but then nodded with a loud sigh when his mother shot him a glare.

Seokjin had his arms crossed deeply as he was literally forced to put effort on how he looked. His tired eyes paid no attention to the surroundings but his head snapped up at the mention of his name. Taehyung signaled him to follow him as he left the dining room. Seokjin trailed behind the sandy haired male, biting the insides of his cheeks. Taehyung stopped when they arrived to a bench, taking a seat on it, Seokjin following awkwardly. Taehyung glanced at Seokjin, his eyes taking in the elder's features.

"You uh. . .changed." He mumbled softly.

Seokjin glanced up at him, "I wouldn't be surprised, we're not kids anymore."

Taehyung rolled his eyes at the response, he was taken aback but then he shrugged, "I was trying to be nice, you could at least be less salty about it." Seokjin didn't reply and instead sat down on the bench the furthest away from Taehyung.

"I have a girlfriend." Taehyung started and Seokjin stared at him with a raised eyebrow."I'm just saying this cause I feel like you should know. Decline whatever they say to you, they'll give up soon."

I can't. Seokjin said in his mind but nodded anyways, playing with his fingers.

After fifteen minutes of sitting in complete silence, the both of them head back inside to the dining room, where they resulted on taking their seats. "Did you guys get to know each other? Catch up?" Taehyung's mom asked hopefully, she was excited off her wits for the ceremony, especially since it was with Seokjin. The boys didn't answer, Seokjin's face blank and Taehyung just playing around with his wine glass.

After a while of sitting in the room and hear his parent's 'catch up', Taehyung got tired of it all and stood up. "I'll be in my room if you guys have nothing better to do." As the male stood up to leave, his mother offered him to bring Seokjin along and he internally groaned. He turned around to glare at his mother, the woman doing the same. Remind him again, why Taehyung was stuck with someone this evil as his mother? Taehyung soon give up, mumbling incoherent words under his breath as he told Seokjin to follow him.

Seokjin turned around; following Taehyung again after his father gave him a glare for trying to complain. "Just stay the furthest away from me, I'm not gay." Taehyung mumbled, tossing himself on the bed as he pulled out his phone. Seokjin rolled his eyes, not bothering to reply as he sat on a chair the furthest away from the younger boy. A sharp ringtone cut through sulent room and Taehyung pulled out his phone, his girlfriend's caller ID displayed on the screen. Taehyung rolled his eyes, about to throw some facts that he do not want anything to do with her anymore but then he remember Seokjin and put on a cheery voice, "Hey babe!"

Seokjin rolled his eyes, ignoring Taehyung altogether. He got a message from his friend and literally thanked the lord.

Jin_is_I: Kill me, like right now. I'm not even kidding.

Hobie324: loll what's wrong?

Hobie324: Chill, hyungie you know you can always come over to mines and Yoongi's.

Seokjin decided not to reply, knowing that if he did leave, his parents will eventually find him like every single time he tried to run away, it's like they know everything.  Seokjin fall back on the bean bag, feeling stressed out by everything that was happening to him, it was over whelming for him to know that he is going to be married in less than a month. "When are you guys leaving?" Taehyung asked, bored out of his wits.Seokjin shrugged as a reply, scrolling through his Instagram and liking random pictures that popped up on the screen.

"Seokjin. .." Taehyung mumbled, catching the elder's attention. Seokjin looked up from his phone, tilting his head, annoyed.

"What? What could you possibly want?" He snapped, annoyed for no particular reason.

"I was just bored." Taehyung muttered with a small pout. "If we're seeing each other often, might as well catch up." Seokjin looked away from Taehyung and then glanced back at his phone.

"Ask away~."He said dryly. Taehyung didn't reply knowing that Seokjin wouldn't really answer him if he did ask and turned on his phone to text some of his friends. Seokjin soon got bored of looking at his phone and yawned silently, making sure he didn't lose grip on his phone as he dozed off. Taehyung looked at Seokjin who was noticeably falling asleep on the bean bag. He sighed with a shake of his head, standing up and walking out of the room hoping Seokjin would get comfortable on the bed.

"Hey, guys? When are you leaving?" Taehyung asked, ignoring the disapproving look his dad was giving him with cheeky smile. When he didn't get immediate reply, he rolled his eyes - which he was pretty, a hundred and ninety percent, sure he had been doing alot on this particular day - and went back upstairs. He softly walked towards the room with Seokjin nodding off on the chair. Taehyung contemplated on bringing him to bed but didn't want to risk waking the older boy since he looked so peaceful. The sandy haired boy instead got a blanket and covered the other male with it, leaning against the wall as he watched him sleep.

"At least I care, idiot."

Seokjin moved a couple times to get into a comfortable position, yet his nightmare disturbed his sleep. Seokjin whimpered in his sleep, mumbling incoherent words as his body started to trash around. Taehyung's eyes widened, shaking Seokjin slowly. "Jin? Hyung?" He shook the other boy awake but Seokjin only got worse, trashing around relentlessly. Taehyung didn't know what to do and no matter how much he shook Seokjin he wouldn't wake up and only get worse and worse until he started crying in his sleep.

Taehyung didn't know what to do since no matter what he do, the older remained the way he was. He quickly ran out of the room, getting Seokjin's parents and his own to help.

"O-One minute he was sleeping and the next he was trashing around and I-" Taehyung couldn't finish what he was going to say, too worried to speak. All of them just stood there, all crowding around a shaking Seokjin and just waiting for him to wake up.

When Seokjin woke up, he was greeted with five pairs of eyes staring at him, four out of worry and one out of madness. He quickly looked away, playing with his sleeves."W-What happened?" He asked, looking up at Taehyung. Taehyung shrugged before sitting down beside the older boy.

"You had a nightmare." He stated softly, as if he was talking to a soft, scared, starving child. Seokjin nodded and looked down at his hands again. He tried to open his mouth for an explanation but nothing came out. There was a panic glint in his eye that looked like it's going to be there for a while. His stomach was twisting in various knots, and he felt the tears welling up in his eyes.

Taehyung sighed, "I was so worried."

"Maybe we should go home." Seokjin's mother said and Taehyung was quick to argue, "You can't just leave with him in this position."Taehyung snapped, "He's physically and mentally not fine right now. How can you take him out there into the cold to leave?" Taehyung stated, throwing facts. He then turned back to Seokjin, "You're staying here tonight." Seokjin used the energy he had to place his hand over Taehyung's larger ones, telling him to calm even though his arms dropped down again after a few seconds. Taehyung looked at Seokjin's parents signaling them to leave. "Jonho, lead them outside." He ordered his butler who bowed and walked out with Seokjin's parents.

"Make yourself home, darling." Taehyung's mom smiled at Seokjin before leaving with her husband.

Taehyung sighed as he handed him a cup of water. "What was that, hyung? You scared the shit out of me."

Seokjin turned his head towards Taehyung, loosening up once everyone left and it was only them in the room. "You kept mumbling things in your sleep," Taehyung explained, "then you started shaking and crying, all while sleeping." Seokjin felt his throat open a bit, managing to speak properly again.

He hummed in realization,"It's worse this month then." He mumbled, looking up at the ceiling.

"What do you mean?" Taehyung asked, curious. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to though,"

Seokjin ignored the doubt Taehyung had and bit his cheeks, "I've been having nightmares these past months. I don't know why." He explained, playing with a loose thread in his jeans with a small shrug.

"How bad are they, from the range of 1 to 10?"

"A solid 8, I'd say."

"What kind of nightmares? Are you losing sleep because of it?" Taehyung asked, making the older face him.

Seokjin ignored the first question, humming in reply. "I've only been able to have a few hours of sleep. Explains why I was super cranky, sorry for being such a dick." The brunette apologized sheepishly, a light tint covering his face. Taehyung waved it off, opening his mouth to speak but was cut off by his phone. He rolled his eyes and excused himself when he saw it was Sohyun, his girlfriend.

"I told you that –" Taehyung said in a hushed whisper that might have been an octave louder and glanced at the other boy in the room before leaving the room with his phone in hand. "Sohyun, look I understand that you are one clingy ass bitch but we're over okay? I wasn't even interested in you." There was a short silence on the other side before Sohyun started yelling at him. Taehyung just hang up on her. Taehyung walked into the room to see Seokjin asleep again and this time, he quietly lifted the other boy to the bed before he lay down on the couch. "Goodnight then." He whispered, looking at the string of texts he had received from Sohyun. "Fuck." He cursed, hating her so bad. He kicked his legs up in the airs as he let out silent groan, imagining the air was Sohyun so he could back kick her to Mars-

"What are you doing?" Seokjin asked raising his eyebrow. Taehyung jumped at the sudden voice, his legs hanging in midair. He gulped awkwardly before placing it down.

"Nothing..."

Seokjin rolled his eyes, sighing. "It's not nothing, come on tell me." Taehyung just turned away from him. "I'm fine, go to sleep." He grumbled, pulling the makeshift blanket on him.

"Alright."Seokjin frowned, deciding not to argue with the other as he fall asleep himself, waking up in the middle of the night because of his dreams that made him sit up on Taehyung's bed for the rest of the night.
