Chapter Five

TAEHYUNG is confused as to why and what he was doing when he found himself calling Seokjin at one in the morning. He was going to hang up, but it was way too late, the older boy had picked up the phone, not even sounding sleepy. The voice of pure honey, Taehyung remarked to himself and bit his lips, "Hello?" Seokjin mumbled.

"How are you not asleep yet?" He asked, fumbling around with the soft material of his duvet. He heard a chuckle from the older male and some shuffling, as if he was moving the phone from one ear to another before everything becomes still again. Taehyung pulled away and looked at the phone to make sure Seokjin was still there, and he was.

"I could say the same to you," Seokjin breathed out, playing with his teddy bear's ears. ",why are you not asleep yet?" He asked. Taehyung let a laugh rumble out of him, sitting up straight and staring up at the ceiling.

"I couldn't sleep, hyung." He reasoned and closed his eyes, feeling the cold air of the AC hit his bare chest. Taehyung shivered, blindly reaching for the AC remote through the big heap of mess on his bed. Finally he got it in his hands and he sighed, clicking the off button on the remote and falling back onto the blanket. He heard Seokjin saying something along the lines of, 'I can't too.' and smiled to himself, closing his eyes. "I was wondering..." He started, "If you would like to talk with me until I fall asleep." He whispered.

"What is this, Kim Taehyung?" Seokjin questioned with a light chuckle, "I thought you don't even like being near me?" He asked and pulled the blanket up to his chin, putting his phone on speaker and curling up.

"Aish, let's not talk about that again. I was being an asshole because I was sour about having to get married." Taehyung explained and leaned back on his chair, smiling to himself at hearing Seokjin laughing on the other side of the phone. His laugh for definitely something, Taehyung would do anything to hear it again. "You haven't changed at all..." Taehyung mumbled into the phone, hearing Seokjin's laughing come to a halt.

"You have;" Seokjin spoke, "You're not that innocent Taehyungie anymore." He joked, and up to a point, Taehyung agreed, nodding along with him. He sighed and leaned back on the pillows, watching the ceiling, even though there's nothing much interesting but on it other than the plain while wall. Taehyung sighed into the phone too, listening to Seokjin speak to him.
"I guess...people change hyung." He said softly. "I think that's what happened to me. It's not always easy living as me, you know?" He asked softly and hugged his donought pillow close to him as he closed his eyes.

Oh, if you only knew Tae. "I know." Seokjin breathed out, "I know how you feel..."

Taehyung made a greatful sound in reply before listening to Seokjin switch the subject and talk about the new book he recently got from his friend as a present and how much he enjoyed it. Taehyung replied, his voice slow and soothing, humming along to every little thing the older told him. And soon, in the middle of talking, Taehyung noticed how the older male's breathing had become calmer and how he had became quieter, the occasional hums and 'yes's from him no longer heard. That's what Taehyung decided that he fall asleep.

That was also when Taehyung decided that if having someone to talk him to sleep was all Seokjin needed to fall asleep, then he will willingly be that person.

______

Seokjin sighed softly when he woke up, the morning sun jabbing right at his eyes. He sighed again and sat up, looking around his room before deciding to get ready for the day. He went downstairs, only to see his driver sitting in the living room. The older male stood up once he spotted him, both of them exchanging bows in each other's direction before Seokjin was being led out of his house towards his cars. "Where are we going?" The male asked, glancing at him and biting his lips as he played around his coat zipper. The driver glanced at him before opening the door to the car.

"Mr Kim assigned me to drive you back to the Kims." It was a bit confusing, but Seokjin figured that they were going to Taehyung's house - again. And this time, he wasn't so disappointed about it.

By the time they arrived, Seokjin was half asleep. He thanked his driver and nodded when he told him that he would come pick him up by the time he needed to cook dinner and got out of the sleek car, making his way up to the long walk towards Kim Taehyung's front door. Before he got a chance to ring the doorbell, the door opened and Seokjin almost ending up knocking on Taehyung's face instead. He yelped and stumbled back, his eyes wide as he looked at the other male looking at him in amusement. "Say something before scaring me like that you asshole!" Seokjin yelled, holding his chest in his hand.

Taehyung laughed and moved away, making way for the older male to come inside the grand house. "I was kind of expecting you so I just open the door for you." He explained, looking at Seokjin as he shrugged off his coat and put it on the coat rack, politely declining the offer of putting it on a rack instead from a maid nearby. "A thank you would be appreciated, you know?" Taehyung taunted, following after Seokjin and running his hand around his hair.

No reply came from the older male except for a snort, "I'm not thankful for you scaring me like that." He finally said, looking at Taehyung, and actually actually feeling comfortable for a while. He'd always been comfortable if his father wasn't there with him. Seokjin sighed and looked down at his shin, it was healing for sure, enough to let him walk properly but not enough for his mind to wipe out all memory of that damned day. Taehyung's small hum wiped him out of his daydream and he see the male making his way towards the elevator in the house before pressing the button for his room. Seokjin quickly followed, looking around the grand elevator and actually taking every single vintage detail in.

"So you know, we're like getting married." Taehyung spoke out as the telltale ding of the elevator came to a stop at Taehyung's floor. Seokjin walked out with him, an eyebrow arching almost all the way up to his hairline.

"I thought you didn't want to get married with me?" He asked and looked at Taehyung, folding his arms over his chest as he stared at him almost accusingly. Taehyung coughed a bit, turning his head towards his loft, voice coming off deep and embarrassed,

"I don't. But I'm going to anyways because I can." He reasoned, Seokjin biting back a laugh. Taehyung turned back to Seokjin, closing his door behind him, "What? You're not going to say no or anything?" He asked, eyes racking over Seokjin's perfect features before settling on looking at his eyes. Something flashed through the older male's eyes, hurt, pain, sadness, all inflicted at once but the moment it came, it's gone and instead Seokjin was smiling, patting Taehyung's arms.

"I don't really have a chance, you know." He said softly and that was that.
