Chapter Two

Cahira's POV
I slowly walked into Sierra and Peter's room, my wedding gown on. Maeve, the young lady who came as a seamstress from the Calormene area, had taken it upon herself to make the dress, veil, embroidery and all. Sierra was staring out the window, gently rubbing her stomach with one hand.

"Sierra?" She looked up, startled, but smiled weakly when she saw the dress on me.
"Oh....It's exquisite. Maeve did an incredible job." She said softly, and I gently took her hands, making her sit down on the bed beside me.

"What's going on? I can tell something is wrong. What happened?" She looked down, closing her eyes, and sighed softly. She opened her eyes, looking up, a look of fear clear in her eyes. Sierra bit her lip, and finally spoke.

"I was going to tell Peter before Edmund showed up, but there's....I...I've sensed something recently. Something evil, that has reminded me of when....No, worse than when I felt the White Witch's presence." I had to fight back a gasp when she said that. I wasn't around when the Witch was, but I had heard stories, and if Sierra was worried about this......That scared me.

"You're going to tell him though, right?" She nodded, smiling slightly.
"Of course. And on another note, I will tell Edmund and the couriers that the wedding will be a week from tomorrow. Anyone who can come that wishes to will be welcome, as was with the ceremony Peter and I had here." Though they had been married on the Dawn Treader, Peter and Sierra had a second ceremony once we had returned to shore, inviting nearly everyone who was nearby.

"I doubt Edmund will mind." She smiled, and then there was a knock on the door.
"Go away!" I called, and we heard a laugh.
"So.....am I no longer allowed in my own bedroom?" Sierra laughed, standing, and let Peter in. He had one hand on the hilt of his sword, and his other hand rested on the door frame.

"I'm looking forward to you marrying my brother.." He said, smiling when he saw me stand. I blushed slightly, and Sierra smiled at me.

"Maeve did want it back. She wants the embroidery on the veil to match what's on the dress." I smiled, nodding.

"I'll go return it. If you two will excuse me." I said, bowing slightly, and slipped out when Peter nodded.

Peter's POV
As Cahira left, I could see a slight shadow darken Sierra's face, and I wrapped my arms around her, resting my chin on her shoulders and my hands on her stomach.

"What's going on? And don't try to say nothing. I married you, I know you, and I know something is wrong." She sighed, chuckling softly, and leaned back against me, her shoulders slumping slightly as the tiny smile faded.

"Evil. I feel it, and it's stronger than when Jadis was around. It's....It's terrifying. I keep feeling it. Sometimes it's stronger, sometimes it's weaker, but either way....It's awful." I felt my heart sink when I heard her voice crack, as well as what she told me. She has spent so long and fought so hard to get rid of her, and now.....Everything she had worked for seemed to be falling to pieces.

"Sierra....This.....We can do this. We beat the Witch last time. We can beat this as well." She looked up at me, biting her lip slightly, and I could see the tears in her eyes.

"But what if we can't? What if this is the one thing that we can't handle?" I held her close, fighting the tears that threatened to spill over. I didn't know if we could do this, but I knew that we had to. And if we did, we would do it the same way we did everything else.....Together.
