I almost freaked out.

I almost ran upstairs.

I have to find it.

I swallowed hard.

I started thinking where I saw the basement door.

Although the basement door was upstairs, and who know if there was actually a basement.

I continued my walk upstairs.

I stood in front of the door of my room.

I then walked from my room, to my aunts office, and turned to the hallway on the left.

It led no where.

I was desperate.

Or maybe it was disappointment.

I followed the same steps but turned to the right hallway this time.

As I passed each door, i looked for any sign of A labeled sign saying "basement "

My breath started getting more shallow.

I stopped in my tracks.

I turned to the last door in the hallway.

Nope, it sure wasn't the basement.

But it still caught my attention, why?

It was Josh's room.

The door wasn't fully closed.

I'm not that kind of person who is nosy all the time, but this interested me.

I pretended like I was just walking by and I peeked over my shoulder just a slight bit.

the room was dark because the lights were turned off, but the light from the sun shined through the curtains so I could only see whatever the sun was shining on, which was the bed.

it was neat and it looked like it had just been recently cleaned.

I was to caught up in the moment that I didn't Josh coming my way.

I sprinted full on until the end of the hallway and turned the corner.

I heard as josh came out of his room, but I never heard him close the door.

I quicky peeked through the corner to see where he was.

I sighed in relief as I didn't see him there.

I continued my nosiness to see his room.

I peeked once again.

Do it. Do it. I know you want to.

That little voice in my head said giving me intently more and more curiosity to go inside his room.

I held back.

I can't go through his stuff, specially not his room.

I resisted the urge.

The basement.

I totally forgot about that.

Just one look around.

I thought hard as I bit my lip.

Should I do it?

I took a step back.
Your here to find the basement not to be nosy.

I kept backing up debating with myself if I should go in or just stay out here and mind my own business.

But, no.

See the thing is I debate with myself a lot and I never make up my mind.

Oh, geez.

I pushed open the door, and walked inside his room.

As I walked in I saw his bed was on the far right top corner and on the bottom right corner was a desk with, a lamp journals, pencils, etc.

On the left bottom corner of the room there was drawer, a small closet, and a mirror.

His window was at the top of his bed.

As I walked further in I saw that by the mirror was another door, most likely the bathroom.

I looked around and my gaze stopped at his desk.

I gulped.

I backed up a little.

You already went in his room, might as well just look what he has.

Stop it. I scolded myself.

I felt warmth take over my body, I shivered as chills ran through my arms and legs.

He was in here.

"S-sorry." I said, not turning around as I felt his gaze on me.

No response came from him.

Should I turn around and face him?

You have to turn around to get out of here.

I stood there for a solid two minutes and still no response came from him.

I felt hands grab my waist and pull me towards them.

I panicked a stood frozen.

I finally turned around.

It wasn't Josh.

It was my aunt?

She was pulling me out the door.

"Mia, be careful." She said walking away.

I sighed.

Oh gosh.

"I'm sorry." I said.

She kept walking.

"Aunt?" I asked as I caught up to her.

"Yes?"

"Do you know anything about the basement?"

She immediately stopped in her tracks and whipped her head towards where I was.

"What basement?" She asked innocently.

"I saw a door that -" I didn't get a chance to finish my sentence before my aunt started hers.

"Listen. You aren't to go down there. Ever." With that she walked off turning the corner of the hallway.

My eyes widened at how stern she said.

I walked around wherever, turning corners.

My aunt was amazing, I couldn't ask for someone better, but that didn't mean I was going to listen to her.

I mean, what possibly could be down there?

I had to go to that basement.

But where was it?

I kept turning corners at the end of each hallway I passed.

Hmm...

Think Mia!

My pace got slower with each step I took.

I was getting too tired just walking around this damn mansion.

I swear I could loose 10lbs. Just walking around this house.

Let's do this tomorrow. A part of me thought.

No we need to go down there!

It's not that important.

You need to find-

My thoughts were interrupted by a brown wooden door with a sign labeled "basement".

All my energy spiked up as soon as I saw that label on the door.

I took a step closer.

Another step.

I kept walking forward until I was2 inches away from the door.

I sighed.

I reached out to the handle and gripped it hard.

I twisted it a slight bit.

It's locked.

Great.

Hmmm..
Where would my aunt leave the key?

I remembered that at the entrance of the house was a cabinet full of keys of all the doors in the house.

I turned around ready to leave.

But when I turned around I saw endless hallways.

Whoa.

How am I going to go back there? Heck, I don't even know where I came from.

I decided to look around to see if there was any hidden spot where they key could be.

I bit my lip.

I like beside the door, on top and I searched under the mat.

It's no use.

I saw a plant near by the basement door.

It was a fake plant of course.

I thought for a little bit.

I came close to the plant and dug.

I know it sounds weird me digging in the the plant dirt.

I soon found something silver, rusty and very old.

The key!

I looked at my now dirty hand.

It's the key.

You found the key, my mind mocked me.

I stood up.

Before I came close to the door I checked if anyone was around.

I stuck the key in the door.

It fits..

I heard someone coming close to me.

I gulped, I shoved the key in harder and quicker.

My heart was beating, I was sweating.

Come on.

That's when I heard it.

"Mia?"

So.. Can I say cliffhanger! Haha! I got you guys again!

I PROMISE next chapter will be about the basement!
