[Ch.3] Found

The silence was loud, funnily enough. The only thing hearable was the tapping of Mints shoes against the floor as he walked, flashlight in hand. Yes, he'd gone to look for Silas after the lights went out. He hid under the bed for a minute in a panicked state before calming down and deciding he couldn't stay there without knowing if Silas would come back. So here he was, wandering aimlessly around the halls and checking his back twenty-four seven.

The made up dark figures peaked at him from down the hall behind one of the corners of the walls, some scampered along out of the corner of his eye or simply looked down at him from the ceiling. Part of the reason he hated the dark so much, is he never could tell what was real or what wasn't. And decided he didn't want to know what was there.

He was hesitant to come out here in the first place, but he needed to find the presence of another human being, hopefully that human being would be Silas and his grumpy ass attitude.

He let out a startled noise when his phone light suddenly turned off. Sometimes it did that and scared the living shit out of him. He restarted his phone and let out a relieved sigh when he was able to turn the light on again.

After a good while, he still couldn't find Silas. No matter what area of the place he arrived to. A part of him had decided it was better to not find him, since he's sure Silas wouldn't want him to go to him anyway. Especially not after he had pissed the man off.

"Uhm- hi?" Mint turned around quickly and shined his light at whoever the voice belonged to. Two girls stood there, one a short blonde, the other had pink hair. The pink haired girl had spoken to him, a hesitant hand in the air lightly waving to him as they approached slowly. Mint returned the wave, staring at them for a few seconds. "You alright?" The taller woman spoke again. Mint nodded and finally was able to get a few words out, "Yeah- Yeah. Just spooked me. Why are y'all out here?" He scratched his head and walked till he could practically reach out and shake their hands.

"We went to find our friends. Forgot what rooms they're at. Even though they just told us before the power went out." The shorter one explained quick, and to the point. Muttering a bit towards the end.

The two stared at him for a moment, seeming to ask him the same question. "Was looking for my best friend. I accidentally made him storm out." The women nodded, deciding to not get into his business. "Do you want to stick with us?" The taller offered with a small smile. The shorter seemed to not agree with that —her face contorted with a pinched expression— but didn't say anything about it.

There was an eternal argument with himself for a minute before he did eventually nod. The taller waited for him to start walking with them before she gently placed her hand on his shoulder to guide him to where they were going. Her other hand intertwined with the shorter woman's.

"Back to our earlier conversation, they're on separate floors. That's all I know. Maybe this floor." The shorter said as the three of them walked. "What floor are we on?" Mint needed confirmation, "Second." Mint sighed once the answer came. "Don't even remember walking here. I was so out of it."

"What floor were you on?" The shorter finally directed a question to him. "Third." She nodded, not questioning him.

"Don't remember the room number to Damien or Void's room- whoever is on this floor.. do you?" The taller asked the other woman with very little hope in her eyes. "Nope. Sorry, dear." It was silent for a good second after that, only a sigh escaping from the disappointed woman's lips.

"I never got your names." Mint finally acknowledges the missing factors among them. "Oh golly, forgive us. I'm Stellar. This is my girlfriend, Eleanor." The taller—Stellar— explains, gesturing to the other woman towards the end of her sentence. "Mint. Or, call me M." They nod, Eleanor's being more subtle. They're silent the rest of the walk.

"It's way too dark. I can't see anything." Tyler sighs, listening to the sounds of his friends stumbling over themselves. "No shit." Laurence calls out from the dark. He made an 'oof' sound and crashed to the ground.

Tyler stumbled and grabbed onto the person who bumped into him seconds later, smiling when he realized it was Felix, who gripped onto his shirt as to not fall. "Do we not have a flashlight in here?" Laurence interrupted with his slightly loud shouting.

"I'm sure it's somewhere!" Calvin spoke from.. the bathroom? Tyler could hear things being thrown around in there. "Can't believe we can't find a flashlight here." Felix mutters, pressing his face into Tyler's shirt.

"Found a lantern if that helps!" Calvin shouted from directly in their ears, making them cover their heads and wincing. "Right in the ear, Cal." Calvin gave a sheepish grin to them when the lantern was turned on. He set it on the dresser and looked around at everyone who was now visible.

"Wanna play tag in the dark?" Calvin instantly received three 'no's'. "Last time I played that game with you idiots I fell and busted my lip." Laurence said as he stood near the lantern light. "What's a game without a little drama?" Laurence gave Calvin a glare and the man gave a small apology with a smile. Laurence just crossed his arms and looked down.

"I don't know about y'all, but I ain't being that one white girl in horror movies. We're staying right here." Laurence chuckles a bit, lacking humor to his tone. He was dead serious. "Until we need food." Felix mutters. Tyler nods, agreeing. "And water."

"We shouldn't be here that long before it's morning." Laurence shrugs, "What time is it anyway?" He just got blank stares.

"The clocks stopped too. No idea when it'll be morning." Tyler explains, leaning against the wall slightly. Felix and him had long separated from the hug once the light turned on and everyone could see each other.

"I can't stay here without knowing what's going on." Calvin said after a moment, "Too bad. Whatever murderous clown that's out there will target your gay ass." Laurence responds, relishing in the annoyed sound it got from his friend. "I'm not gay, dude!" Calvin throws his hands up in the air. Laurence simply shrugs, "Uh huh, I'll be there for your coming out party bud. I support you."

Calvin grumbles and digs in nails into his palms tightly. Breathing in deeply a few times before a smile came back on his face and all the tension practically melted away. "What should we do?" He only received shrugs.

"As long as it's staying in here. I could care less." Laurence speaks his opinion again. "Anybody got a working device? Maybe we could draw or play those stupid mobil apps." Tyler suggests already going to look for anything with battery percentage.

"The time should be up on like phones and stuff right?" Laurence asks after Tyler opens his bag first. "Should be." Laurence almost facepalms. "Then you could've told me the time." Tyler just gives a simple shrug and he continues to dig through the bag.

"Then if you find your phone, tell me the time. I'd like to know when I can leave this fucking place." He could see a faint nod from Tyler, only because of the light reflecting off of him. "Did I even pack my phone? I thought I did." Tyler mumbled while everyone else just looked at him. "Oh! Found it." Tyler pulls out the device, opening it up and showing Laurence who groaned. "9:30. You're telling me we only got here like two hours ago?" Tyler just gives him a short nod, "Guess so. Nothing to fret over."

"I'm going to be so bored." Felix lets out a breathless laugh that only lasted about two seconds before he went quiet again. "Same here." Tyler mumbled, placing the phone next to the lantern. "Wanna play duck duck goose?" Laurence gave him a questioning look, "What are we? Pre-schoolers?"

"Well I mean.. you're kinda acting like one a wee bit, Laurs.." A thought slipped into Calvin's mind that he was about to get tackled or something, but Laurence just flipped him off instead.

"I stand by my words."

"Good thing I'm not afraid of the dark, huh Phen?" Moon grins, her teeth basically glowing. "Neither am I." Phendo smiles and adjusts the phone stand that Moons phone laid on. "I hate these things, but how else am I supposed to make the light illuminate the whole room?" Phendo lets out an exhausted sigh.

Moon shrugged, simply looking around the half brightened room while talking about a different topic.

"How long do ya think the lights'll be out? Phendo randomly asks, "Maybe until it gets started up again with a.. generator? I think? Unless there's a problem with it. Hopefully they'll be on before 8 in the morning." Moon nods, "Hopefully."

They looked up from their tasks at the sound of their hotel rooms phone ringing. They spared a glance before Phendo reached over and grabbed it, holding it close to hear it better.

"Automated message." He states and holds it out for Moon to hear. It just kept repeating to stay in their rooms. "Should we?" Moon just shrugs, unsure. "Depends what happens I suppose." Phendo nods, returning the phone to its place.

"We've never gotten a message like that." Phendo sighs, "Maybe it's just a prank." Moon suggests.

"It would be a very strange one."

They pause when a knock sounds at their door. "You wanna get it?" Moon smiles at her brother who rolled his eyes playfully. He went over and opened the door anyway. There stood a girl with brown hair and a guy with black and red hair behind her.

"Can I-" Phendo starts but is cutoff by the girl, "Ignore the phone message." She states and crosses her arms. Phendo slowly turned to look at Moon for a second, who's eyes slightly widened, confused, but she stayed quiet. He turned back to the two, asking them to elaborate.

The girl scoffs quietly and explains, "Somebodies messing with us. I only know this because somebody did this once at my.. old job. Told us to stay inside and then set the place on fire." She shrugs and cracks a bit of a smile at the siblings horrified looks.

"I'm not saying that'll happen here. I'm saying that I'm not dumb. And you shouldn't stay in your rooms. I'm going around to tell people since I'm nice like that." Her companion gave an exasperated sigh at the ending sentence, messing a little with the dying flashlight they had with them.

"So.. what do we do?" Phendo asks, him being still slightly horrified. "We go to the ground floor. I don't care how you get there. Just go." She goes to leave, her brown hair moving sharply with the turn of her head almost hitting Phendo in the face. The guy next to her followed her in silence, giving a wave as they departed.

"Let's go." Moon's already up, bag over her shoulder that looked a lot lighter without all the stuff they had put away in it. "I grabbed everything important of both our stuff, we need to get out of here. I'm not staying around for something bad to happen, neither are you brother." She gives him a very small smile and pulls him out the door, phone light in hand as she noticeably grabbed it from the phone stand they set up moments earlier.

They tripped a lot the way there, considering their light was mainly shined further down the hall to see where they were going.

They made it to the stairs, trudging down them quickly and making it to the lobby where a group of people had started to form already. Moon shifts to stand next to Phendo while everyone else separated into their own group of friends.

"What now?" Moon looks up at Phendo who shrugs, "Guess we wait for everyone else to get down here." Moon nods, placing her hands together in front of her and looking from towards the door to the front of the desk they got checked in at.

"Receptionist is gone." She mutters and Phendo takes notice of the missing woman. "Huh. Might have her own room here. Y'know how this place is." Phendo shrugs the sentence off easily.

Moon nods and looks at the next few people coming into the lobby who tried to open the door.

"Locked." They announced making everyone turn their heads to look at them. Moon looked at Phendo and they made eye contact. "Who's busting the door down first?" Phendo jokes, making Moon giggle a bit. "Me." She shoots back.

Everyone becomes silent as more people walk through, this group looked more nervous, one of them a little angry at having to walk here it seemed. "Said to stay in the goddamn room." He muttered, following his taller blonde friend who said something but Phendo wasn't close enough to hear it.
