(Little disclaimer: I'm including Quidditch in this year even though its cancelled in the books! Hope everyone's okay with that!)

Those first few weeks felt like months. Summer knew she wasn't the most naturally outgoing person, yet no matter her feeble attempts to say hello, or make conversation, no one spoke to her. Even Hayden was too caught up with Cedric, or his newfound Slytherin group of friends, to pay as much attention to her as she would've liked.

She spent most of her breaks in the library, reading the same lines over and over again, as racing thoughts popped in and around her mind. This wasn't so bad, she only had to do two years of this... Two years? No way.

She got up with a start, making the few others around her jump a little, looking up from their books. Briskly, Summer walked as fast as she could out of the library doors, into the courtyard, and began to think.

It felt like the Gryffindors were hesitant about her because she used to be in Slytherin, and the Slytherins outright didn't want anything to do with her because she was now in Gryffindor. So much for her old 'friends'. She guessed she'd just have to find someone in Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw to befriend then. But before she could even start to cogitate the matter, a familiar boy came up and stood before her. It took her a moment after her interruption to be able to focus on the identity of the prepossessing boy she was now staring up at.

"Summer!" He engulfed her in a much-needed hug, meaning she held on just a second longer than she would've thought socially acceptable, not that he seemed to notice. He pulled her aside into the corridor. "How're you settling into Hogwarts?" He asked. She hesitated for a second, before forcing a smile and replying with a quick 'fine'.

Cedric bent down to her height and subconsciously forced her to look back into his eyes, which had a look of someone who was deeply concerned.

"Summer, be honest, Hayden's worried about you, he said he's been looking out but has barely seen you." She fidgeted uncomfortably on the spot and resorted to folding her arms.

"Oh really, well every time I've seen him, he's too busy with all his new friends. Anyway, I've just been studying in the library, want good grades, that's all..." She trailed off, but as soon as her eyes met Cedric's again, with that knowing look plastered on his face, they welled with tears.

"Okay fine it's awful here, I've done nothing to anyone but try to be kind, yet two houses hate me already, and everyone else avoids me or acts like I don't exist, and I can't stop thinking about her, and how she should be here too... I know I sound like a massive crybaby, but I just wanna go home."

The boy sighed, and placed his hands on her shoulders before speaking.

"I know. I know it feels really hard right now. But I promise you this is the right path for you, you're not going to do yourself any good by hiding away in that house like your other brother is. Believe me, the best way to deal with the grief you're feeling is to carry on with life, even when it feels like it's shooting you down. You're an amazing girl Summer, and soon people are going to put their biases away and see that."

She stood shocked at his words. In the sixteen years, she had been around Cedric, he had never before spoken to her so genuinely. Okay, maybe I do have friends, she thought, reminding herself of Cedric's words.

"Also you should talk to Hayden about the latter, I think he might be ready." Summer scoffed in disbelief.

"Mmm, we'll see."

She straightened herself up and smiled, for the first time since she had gotten there.

"Atta-girl! Now come on, let's go and get a cappuccino." He pulled her arm in the direction of the Great Hall, and she rushed out a quick thank you, before following.

That lunch, she went to her usual spot at the lengthy Gryffindor table. To her surprise, however, two people slid in either side of her, silently demanding her attention. She didn't know whether she should feel worried or not until she saw who they were.

"What do you two want? " She knew they meant no harm, yet was still cautious about their intentions, especially with the jocular grins they had plastered across their faces, and she hoped they weren't going to prank her- she'd heard all about them from the loudly gossiping students that bustled through the school.

"We figured it out!"

"Figured what out exactly?"

"The Blanchets!" Okay if this was a prank, they were doing a good job confusing her.

"We knew we had heard that name before."

"So we wrote to mum-"

"And she told us we were right,"

"Don't you remember? Weasley. Eight of us, we used to come over all the time when we were younger,"

"And you to us."

If this was a joke, they had certainly thought it out well. Summer went over the details, trying to remember any memory of them, and as if a flood gate had opened in her mind, they all came pouring to the forefront of her head, how did she not realise it? How many red-haired twins came into your life anyway?

"I remember," she said cooly, still unsure of their intentions. "So you guys don't hate me then?"

"Course not."

"Don't be stupid."

"I'd always hoped we'd see you again."

Summer grinned broadly. The twins reciprocated her happy expression.

"What's all this?" A boy from their year swaggered over to the trio, an eyebrow raised.

"Little reunion Lee, butt out," said Fred, making Summer giggle, relief spreading over her.

"Oh really? I'd like to be involved if she's involved." Lee gestured to Summer, and winked.

"Oi, we've known her way longer than you, Jordan." The twin she believed was Fred replied.

"Yeah, ten minutes longer maybe." George, or it could have been Fred, sighed and started explaining their newfound, old, friendship.

Maybe her time at Hogwarts wouldn't be so bad after all.

It was later that day and dinner would be soon, but Summer's mind was only focused on one thing- Quidditch. It was one of her favourite things, and figured there was no way she wasn't going to be, or try to be, on the team, now that she had settled in. Finally, she caught Fred and George as they exited the boys' bathrooms.

"Been waiting outside for us, Summer?"

"You could've just come in, we wouldn't have minded."

"No thanks, I hear it's disgusting in there," she rolled her eyes and continued. "Have you guys seen Angelina?"

"Uh, why?" They dropped their smug looks which were replaced them with curious ones.

"Well, she's Quidditch captain, right?"

"Yeah, but we have a full team unless you're looking to be a chaser, Smith has just gone off for the rest of the season," Fred explained.

"You're kidding."

"No? I think he's really stressed about his N.E.W.T.S-"

"No I mean I play chaser," she laughed.

"Oh," Fred almost looked surprised at this, "Well next practice you should come down with us, see if you're any good, she'll be ecstatic."

"Perfect," and before they could say another word, she was skipping off down the corridor.
