...3 hours until dawn...

Everyone could tell Emily felt bad about everything that happened to Jess, and now she couldn't apologize. Before anyone could say anything else an old man walked into the room with Mike and Chris. "Listen quickly. I don't respect you kids coming back up to my mountain."

"Your mountain?" Sam asked chuckling, "I'm sure the Washington's would love to hear you say that."

"You're right." The Stranger said, "This mountain isn't mine but it isn't the Washington's either. It belongs to the Wendigos. Now I don't know why you kids came back up here after what happened last year?"

"With Hannah and Beth? How do you know about that?" Maysilee questioned.

"Probably because he was a part of it!" Emily suggested.

"Don't get ahead of yourself there. But you kids are in danger. Do you have anywhere safe where nothing can get it?" The Stranger asked.

"The basement might work," Sam suggested.

"Okay, stay there, until dawn." The Stranger said.

"Wait Josh, we have to get him!" Chris announced. Maysilee frowned and looked at the Stranger.

"Alright fine we'll get your friend you all stay in the basement." He repeated.

"I wanna come with." Chris said, "Please Josh is my friend I can show you where he is."

The Stranger nodded "Alright fine let's go quick, you listen to me do what I tell you."

The two walked away and Ashley went after him "Hey!" She stopped him and kissed him, "Come back safe, I'll be waiting."

Chris nodded and left with the Stranger. "Okay, I guess we go to the basement," Maysilee said.

"I'm gonna wait up here." Ashley said, "For Chris to get back."

Maysilee nodded and reached for the machete Mike had given her earlier, surprisingly Josh hadn't taken it. "Take this, just in case," Maysilee said handing her the machete. Ashley took it.

"Let's take the Stranger's stuff down," Emily suggested grabbing the backpack. Maysilee grabbed the first aid kit and went downstairs with Emily, Sam, and Mike. They all set the stuff down and exchanged glances with each other.

Maysilee though, her leg still in pain, sat up against the wall. "I hope they amputate my leg." She joked, "Once I get out, I don't wanna go through anything else painful." Of course, she didn't expect that would be the outcome.

"You think amputating your leg isn't gonna be painful?" Emily asked.

Maysilee shrugged "I don't know." She joked, "Worse than continuous surgery on it and life-lasting pain."

Emily shrugged "Guess so." She replied.

Maysilee looked at Mike and he smiled at her "Are you alright?" She asked.

Mike nodded "Define alright." He joked, "Are you?"

"I'm alright." She replied.

"I thought you were dead... when I first saw you tied up like that. All the blood and your drained face, made it look like you were dead." Mike quaked, "I was scared. I'm sorry I let you go..."

Maysilee chuckled, "I'm alright, but Michael I didn't know you got scared." She teased but then got serious, "You don't have to apologize, Mike, it's not your fault I wanted to go, I didn't wanna slow you down. Instead, a just slowed Chris and Ashley down, but I wasn't expecting to find them." Maysilee said.

Mike nodded "Y-yeah alright," Mike said nervously.

Sam walked up to Maysilee and pulled her aside "Are you alright?" She asked, "Not physically but with the whole- Beth's head thing?"

Maysilee shrugged "I'll get over it, it'll take a while but I'll figure it out." She admitted, "Of course it hurts Sam, but I'm trying not to die right now."

Sam nodded "I understand just know I'm always here for you." Sam stated.

"I know thank you, Sam," Maysilee said.

Suddenly you could hear yelling from upstairs "Shut it quickly!" Chris yelled and the door slammed shut. Mike rushed upstairs but the rest of them stayed down. Just a few minutes later Ashley, Chris, and Mike came back down.

"Where's the Stranger?" Sam asked.

Chris shook his head "He's gone- the Wendigo it- it took off his head."

Everyone gave a moment of silence, "We need to find an escape in case the Wendigo gets in." Mike suggested

"Mike I don't think that's a- well great idea?" Sam questioned, "We should stay here until dawn."

"No! Josh should have a cable car key, and then we can escape!" Mike pointed out.

"Mike- The wendigo probably took him down into the mines..." Emily said.

Emily starts looking through The Strangers' stuff. Mike started talking about stuff he found in the sanatorium.

"Emily-" Ashley said worriedly, making everyone look over, "What. Is. That." Ashley pointed to her shoulder.

"Oh that- it's nothing-" Emily assured them all, "It just bit me."

"What bit you!" Mike enraged, "The wendigo?"

Emily nodded "Yes but-"

She was cut off "Oh my gosh! Emily what if you turn into one of them!" Ashley shouted.

Emily stared at all of us, "Emily leave!" Mike shouted, "This is the safe room!"

"W-what?" Emily asked, "Mike your joking."

"Leave! He said leave!" Ashley shouted.

"He doesn't care if I leave he just doesn't wanna have the burden of killing me himself and have the wendigo take that chance!" Emily yelled and Mike pulled a gun out and pointed at Emily. She backed into the wall, "Mike!" She sobbed loudly.

"Leave Emily now!" Mike shouted.

"Mike!" Maysilee yelled, "Don't do this- you don't have to!"

Mike still had the gun pointed at Emily "Your right- I can't kill her."

Emily stared at Mike "I'm gonna go look for Josh..." he said and left. She didn't even care to go after him.

Ashley grabbed the strangers book and started reading it "Oh no no no no." She recalled, Sam rushed over to her.

"What is it?" Sam asked. Ashley looked up at her.

"It says well- that the bites aren't infections.

"Excuse me what?" Emily asked with disbelief.

"It says you'll be okay..." Ashley said quietly.

"It says what?" Emily asked.

"You're gonna be fine," Sam told her.

Emily rolled her eyes, "It's not fine that Mike almost shot me! And this bitch encouraged him!" She snapped.

"Em-" Maysilee started.

"No shut up!" Emily snapped.

Ashley stood to her feet "I'm so sorry!" Ashley pleaded and stood in front of Emily, "I didn't know what was gonna happen, none of us did!"

"There is no excuse for this!" Emily yelled, "None!"

"Please, Emily!" Ashley pleaded, "Please try to understand.

Emily was turning away until she turned back once Ashley told her to understand "Understand the palm of my hand bitch!" Emily shouted and slapped her in the face. Ashley fell and then walked away.

"I'm sorry!" She repeated, "I'm so so so so sorry!"

Chris and Maysilee just stood there, they didn't wanna get in the middle of the fight. "Shit! We have to find Mike." Sam said "Cmon."

And the group left the basement to get Mike, without even asking why.
