This chapter was inspired by Season 3, Episode 7 of "Desperate Housewives".

You don't have to watch it to read or understand this chapter, don't worry.

And I didn't like what had happened during that episode although it was a super amazing idea for this book.

I would say what happened but it would essentially ruin everything.

It had all started when Kasey, Leilani and Raina Riele had tried to leave the store to go to the auction on time.

For some reason, they wanted to sneak out instead of just going out naturally.

Come to think of it though, this was probably so that they hadn't gotten into trouble for trying to break into the room where the topaz tiara was.

As they were just about to leave though, some guy who had really looked like a criminal was having a go at the shopkeeper.

He was black- but that was all they could have figured out.

They were right behind and opposite the wall where all of this was currently happening.

What do you mean you don't have it?!

I'm sorry, Latroy. I just can't seem to find it. You came here too late.

Maybe if you had come here earlier then I can give it to you. But for now? No... I'm not so sure I'm afraid. I'm really sorry about that.

Latroy had ordered something online for his wife's birthday last week, and normally if someone had ordered something online, then they had approximately seven days to come and collect it.

After that, it was too late to come and collect it, and even worse?

They couldn't have gotten a refund either... which was just sadly the unfortunate reality of things.

Latroy had come here twenty minutes or so after the deadline, which he was having a go about because hey... it was just twenty minutes, right?

Exactly.

What do you mean I came here too late? It's just twenty damn minutes! It's really not that deep!

Maybe if you had come here twenty five minutes before, then I'd be able to give you that necklace for your wife. But I can't, Latroy. Rules are rules.

They couldn't have seen Latroy's face because he was wearing sunglasses.

But he had a navy blue Adidas tracksuit with two white lines on the side, along with white and black Adidas Superstars.

His hood was up.

I was late because there was unexpected traffic and I was way too busy during to week to come here!

The person who had ordered something online had to come and collect it themselves.

They unfortunately couldn't have sent someone else as much as they might have wanted to do so.

You should have told us that so that we could have extended your time but you didn't!

"Guys, this is a great opportunity for us to leave, come on. What are we waiting for?" Leilani had said to the rest of them.

They had nodded as they had tried to leave silently- then there was a gunshot.

Latroy hadn't killed anyone.... yet- although he did essentially break the glass cupboard of necklaces that was located right in front of him.

Snap.

They freaked.

They were super close to the door as well, and when Latroy had realised what they were about to do, he had pointed the gun at them.

"Ain't nobody leaving here until I get what I want," he had said to all of them. "Back away from the door otherwise I will shoot."

He wasn't smiling, he was frowning at all of them.

The three of them had surrendered, with Kasey and Leilani actually thinking that they could have made a run for it.

They didn't though.

They had actually valued their life.

Petrified, the three of them had gone back to where they had come from, with Latroy pressing this button where all of the doors in the jewellery store would have closed.

So that nobody had the chance to escape.

When a lot of people had found out what he was doing, they had screamed to themselves.

"And if any of y'all try to call the police with me finding out, then y'all are dead meat, you understand that?!"

They had nodded, with Latroy pointing his gun and shooting those that were trying to escape even though the doors were closed.

Great.

What now?!

"Guys. Don't worry. There's still hope."

"How on Earth could you say that, Leilani?!" Raina Riele had accidentally on purpose shouted at him. "If we try to leave, we will die! Latroy's already killed those who tried to leave!"

Then Raina had exclaimed that she didn't want today to be her fateful day, unexpectedly crying on Kasey.

This was actually a very traumatising experience most especially how none of them had been in a hostage situation before.

Kasey had then thought that it would have been a really smart idea for them to call the rest of the people in the group.

Sitara, Serenity and Rayselle were on their way to House of Fraser via a train, where they were going to replicate the topaz tiara via a picture, in case they couldn't have gotten the real one.

Or something devastating had happened to the real one instead.

"Oh snap."

"What?" Leilani and Raina Riele wanted to know at the same time, looking at Kasey blankly as he had stared at his phone.

"My phone is a decent percentage although the service here isn't very good because we're on lockdown mode. I can only go as far as calling Sienna Rose back at my house. But I don't know about Sitara, Serenity and Rayselle."

Sienna Rose was using the computer, maybe she could have hacked things in there that could have helped them.

"Sienna can inform them about our hostage situation," Leilani noticed, smiling. "And maybe Sitara, Serenity and Rayselle can come and help us out or something."

Probably not.

If people couldn't leave then that normally meant that people couldn't get inside either. Hence why they had decided to call it lockdown mode.

Kasey had agreed to go and inform Sienna Rose about this whilst Raina Riele on the other hand was left with Leilani.

BANG!

Someone else had gotten shot.

They screamed as loudly as they could- Kasey had to call Sienna Rose very discreetly though in case Latroy had gotten the wrong impression.

And he had to do it fast too. Time was really not their friend right now.
