♥️Chapter XI♥️

Was this a joke or something?

Raina Riele wasn't happy here?

"What do you mean you're not happy?"

Might as well have come clean about everything, whether it had offended people or not.

"I thought being here would be amazing but it's not. It was at first, but being a cheerleader as well as being part of the A squad in general has just lowkey made me even more depressed than before. And I've never been depressed before, so that's really saying something."

Because Raina Riele had said that?

A lot of people that were newcomers to cheerleading were now questioning their decision as to whether or not they had made the right choice coming here.

In the meantime, Raina was really in trouble.

There wasn't a single person in the A squad that wasn't giving her a dirty look right now.

"What?" She had scowled, folding her arms at them. "I spoke the truth didn't I? Are you really mad at me for that?"

Sheniqua didn't say anything to that, before then unexpectedly taking the girl's hand and bringing her to one corner.

In fact, she was pinching her so tightly that Raina Riele here was screaming, but Sheniqua didn't care.

She needed to yell at her.

And have a go at her.

So when they were out of earshot, that was exactly what she had done- whether people were watching her or not.

She didn't care.

"What is wrong with you?" Sheniqua wanted to know when they were in private. "You're supposed to be setting an example to these children, not bringing them down!"

"Yeah- I was just stating how I really felt. You guys said that we should always be honest with each other no matter what."

She facepalmed herself.

"Yes, but not to our expense!" Sheniqua argued. "You've completely broken The A Squad Code!"

Aka to always bring positivity and happiness into every single situation that they had all faced in life- that was what it was.

Ironic much.

The A Squad had brought Raina the exact opposite thing.

Especially now how Raina Riele wanted to be anywhere else except from here right now.

Raina Riele and Sheniqua had kept on having a go at each other because of this, with Sheniqua eventually kicking Raina Riele out of the squad.

Not that Raina Riele had cared about this that much, because truth be told, the girl was planning to leave anyway.

She had stormed out of the room proudly and arrogantly, not realising that she literally had nobody right now.

Her parents and RonReaco too for that matter had always told Raina Riele to never be an island on her own, because she would have lowkey had nobody.

She had nobody.

She was about to change out of her cheerleading clothes as well- maybe even go back home as well because she was too embarrassed.

That was until she had seen Unsuspected Love in the middle of the space outside, talking about their plans for this weekend.

She couldn't help but to eavesdrop.

Rayselle: Aight, okay... so we've been to Sitara and Serenity's house for the sleepover.

Leilani: Who's house should we go to next?

The only thing that they were allowed to plan for this psychology project impromptu sleepover was whose house they were going to go to.

Everything else had to be unprepared.

Their hypothesis was:

A completely unplanned sleepover would turn out the same way as a planned one.

In psychology class, they were talking about how sometimes when someone didn't plan something, things had turned out as if they had planned it.

For instance, some people had somehow managed to wing exams without preparing for it beforehand.

Which had actually happened a lot at this high school.

Either people were lying when they said that they hadn't prepared for an exam, or they genuinely hadn't prepared for an exam, and them doing well in it was just a serendipity.

Then something about the brain.

Raina Riele didn't know- she wasn't exactly in psychology class.

She wished she was.

Either way, she couldn't have stopped thinking about how Leilani had looked in this group, happier than he had ever been when they had been together as best friends.

The teacher would have known if they had planned this sleepover or not because they were keeping tabs on them for the whole day.

This was so that the teacher could have taken notes.

They wouldn't have invaded their privacy though.

Not everyone was okay with this, so those that weren't okay with this didn't necessarily have to do this amazing experiment.

Dammit.

Why did you leave him for popularity?

Popularity wasn't even worth it in the first place.

Kasey: Y'all! We should go to my house tomorrow. That would be spectacular! My house is pretty large, plus my dad's got this amazing basement crib. Y'all will see when you can get there.

They had all agreed on that, with Sienna Rose then wanting to know why tomorrow, tomorrow was Friday.

Their sleepovers were mainly on Saturdays, assuming everyone wasn't busy or anything.

Kasey *continued* They're doing some construction work tomorrow, so therefore there's no school. They said that it would take the whole weekend to do apparently.

They had all talked about that for a second, with everyone agreeing at the end that they would have all gone to Kasey's house for said impromptu sleepover.

They had then all put their hands in the middle of a circle, screaming Unsuspected Love at the end of everything.

Raina Riele was annoyed.

Jealous.

They had all departed- although the only thing this girl could have thought about was how she had to go inside, and completely gatecrash Kasey's impromptu sleepover.

Watching them all leave, that was when Raina Riele had decided to 'kidnap' the person nearest to her from Unsuspected Love.

Sitara.

They were both in top set maths, so at least she knew the girl.

As Sitara was about to head back inside, Raina Riele had then grabbed her hand, taking her to the storage room that she had kind of been hiding in.

Crazy wasn't even the right word to describe Raina Riele right now.

She was insane.

With a capital I.

Insane in the membrane.

Insane in the brain as well.

I wrote this book because at some point in my life, I really struggled with grass is greener syndrome and wanting to be popular & things.

I still do that now, but it's not as bad as before. Looks are deceiving you guys, so don't be trapped.

But I didn't abandon any of my friends for popularity, of course not.

Popular people on here and/or irl could be depressed, and less popular people are happy. So yeah, quality over quantity any day.

That's why I appreciate each and every one of you. I'd rather have small readers and be happy than a lot and be unhappy instead.

Stay safe.
