♥️Chapter LII♥️
Right.
Rayselle had totally forgotten the fact that the tiara was fake.
He was just so happy that the mission was more or less over now that everything else had seemed to slipped his mind.
"Yeah, hence why I reminded you about it." Kasey deadpanned.
Right now, the two of them were talking to each other, or more so Kasey wanted to talk to Rayselle. Leilani had lost the real tiara but Rayselle had the fake one.
He had just given it to Princess Herizen, who had gone off with Raina Riele so that they could have gotten ready for the party together.
Neither Princess Herizen or Queen Kesenia knew that it was fake, or the security guards too for that matter.
Rayselle sighed.
"But Kasey, you saw the way that Herizen's face had lit up when I gave her that tiara. I don't want to take that happiness away from her, plus it's her birthday today."
"Yeah, I know, although I didn't say you have to tell Herizen explicitly. You just assumed I did. You can tell Queen Kes...Ke- whatever her name is."
He didn't know her name, with Rayselle correcting him about it.
"Either way, I can help you out."
Rayselle was just about to say something but didn't because as soon as he was about to do so, that was when she had arrived back with the cheque.
She was giving them a thousand euros each for finding the tiara, with Leilani and RonReaco following her.
As she had distributed the cheques to Rayselle and Kasey for not coming, Rayselle had then decided to come clean.
"Queen Kesenia?"
She had looked at him blankly, not saying anything else.
"Kasey has to tell you something. It's really important. You can't miss it."
He had to be joking, with Rayselle pushing him forward as he had hidden behind him.
When Kasey had told him that he would have helped him out, he was being serious yes, but this wasn't what he meant - at all.
Curious, Queen Kesenia wanted to know what Kasey wanted to tell him and he sighed.
"The tiara Rayselle gave Herizen isn't real."
She didn't say anything, looking at Leilani and RonReaco, wanting to know if they knew about it.
They too had genuinely forgotten the fact that it wasn't real either.
"So... what are you saying?"
None of them wanted to tell her the truth but a painful truth was far better than a beautiful lie. Plus it just seemed like the right thing to do.
Forget seemed though, it was.
"Kasey means that we duplicated the tiara in case we lost the real one and we did. I did," Leilani continued, with Kasey nodding. "We're really sorry for not telling you this sooner and if you want to take the rewards away from us then that's fine too."
Now he had remembered how they had lost it.
How far away is the castle?
When we get to the river, we'll cross it, Raina, Kasey had told her. Literally too.
This was all said when they were about to cross a bridge under a moat to enter the castle.
Aka when Leilani had unknowingly lost the tiara because he didn't close his bag properly without realising.
Queen Kesenia didn't look happy, but then again she didn't look unhappy either.
She just thought of what to say and she said it.
"No, I'm not taking the rewards away from you guys, don't worry. Because real or fake, I just wanted to make my baby Herizen happy especially on her epic 18th birthday. And you guys did that, but I will tell her the news."
They were over the moon about that, even if Queen Kesenia hadn't finished talking yet.
"Also the duplicating the tiara thing in case you lost the real one? Crazy smart. I would have never thought of that."
They even wanted to duplicate it more than once in case they had lost the real one and the fake one. But they weren't that irresponsible.
In other words, she didn't seem to mind the fact that the tiara was fake.
Sadly, Kasey's father did.
Fast forward to the day after the party, and Kasey as well as Rayselle were talking to Mr Crayking - or more specifically he was yelling at Kasey.
Leilani, Raina and Sienna Rose had already gone home with RonReaco dropping them, and they had all come back to Kasey's house from the mission at about 1am as they party had finished at midnight.
They got a limousine home from someone in the royal family.
Antonio was walking around in circles with Kasey staring at him and Rayselle standing behind him on the sofa.
"Dad, I'm sorry."
"How could you, Kasey?!" He hollered. "You knew how important this mission was to me and you failed because you didn't give them the real tiara!"
And because they failed the mission, Antonio was therefore fired from his job.
Kasey didn't normally get shouted at as he was a pretty decent kid however now he knew that there was nothing he could have said or done to make his father happy with him again.
Not replying to what he said, Rayselle had just stared at Kasey, sighing.
"With all due respect, Mr Crayking, the mission was insanely hard. Okay so we failed the mission because we didn't give them the real tiara at the end of the day but I mean, Kasey, Leilani and Raina Riele almost died for you. Give us credit, most especially Kasey."
"True and besides there are many jobs out there that give better salaries and they're not as dangerous." Kasey pointed out.
He stopped when Antonio had given him a look of death.
He was just so infuriated and frustrated that Unsuspected Love had failed the mission that he didn't want to think of anything else.
He even grounded Kasey for two weeks, telling him to go downstairs and start revising for this test he had soon.
"Mr Crayking, no offence but you're kind of blowing this whole thing out of proportion."
"I wasn't talking to you, Rayselle, was I?"
Kasey had told him not to bother with him as once his mind was made up about something, it was pretty difficult to change.
Reluctantly, Kasey had then stood up, with Rayselle walking with him downstairs.
"You okay?"
"Yeah," he muttered, staring at the floor instead of at Rayselle's face. "This inevitably isn't the first time I've been shouted at before. Let alone in front of one of my friends either."
Luckily Kasey's mother Marissa had knocked some sense into Antonio when Kasey and Rayselle had gone downstairs.
She wasn't happy with the way that he had dealt with any of this, at all.
Yeah so they failed the mission sadly as the tiara wasn't real- all of their had work was for nothing 😞
But it's not over yet! x
