Chapter 27
A/N: A new character will be introduced in this chapter. She does not exist in real life. She is a fictional character, a figment of my imagination.
Kimmon's POV
While I was eating Copter's mango flavored ice cream, I started to regret not eating the spumoni ice cream. It was actually my favorite ice cream. I love the combination of cut up small pieces of dried cherries and pistachios and the alternating flavors of chocolate, strawberry and pistachio ice cream. It was like a Neapolitan ice cream but with the cut up dried cherries and pistachios mixed into it. Oh, well, I'm sure there was more of it in the freezer but I already felt full so it can always wait another time.
I turned to Copter and pretended that the thought had just occurred to me. "By the way, Cop," I said, "I almost forgot to tell you that your phone rang while you were away and I thought it might be important so I answered it. She didn't say who she was but she asked me to tell you to call her back."
"Oh, okay, thanks," said Copter. He stood up from the bed to take the tray with the empty bowls of ice cream to the kitchen.
I sat in bed, waiting in suspense for him to come back and tell me all about the call. It took him a while to come back. He did not seem to have made a call back because I would have heard him talking even if it was in hushed tones.
When he came back to bed, he made a move to kiss me but I told him that I must have eaten too much because I was starting to have a tummy ache.
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that," he said, "would you like some antacids for it?"
"No, I'm just gonna wait for it to go away," I said, "or maybe a cup of chamomile tea would help."
"Let me make you some," he said and bounded out of bed and went back to the kitchen.
Copter's POV
Thankfully, P'Kim thought of asking me to fix him a cup of chamomile tea. It would buy me time to think of what or how to tell him about Liana.
Liana was my older sister's close friend. She was two years older than me. She was, still is, very attractive. We had a mutual attraction when my older sister first brought her home and introduced her to me and the rest of our family. We had become very close and would date in secret because we were not sure how my sister would react to us dating and being close.
I was actually not sure what my relationship with Liana was. I just know that we have a lot of fun when we're together. We like to watch the same movies, listen to the same songs, sing the same songs together, etc. We like to eat the same food. She loved mango flavored ice cream, too.
I came back to the bedroom and handed P'Kim the hot cup of chamomile tea.
Kimmon's POV
Again I sat in suspense as I waited for Copter to come back with my chamomile tea. He was taking too long. And then again it probably just seemed that way because of my eager anticipation of him coming back to the room and hopefully enlightening me on that phone call that I was starting to obsess about.
"Thank you so much," I said to Copter when he came back, handing me the cup of chamomile tea.
"Don't sip from it yet," he said, "you might scald your tongue. It's still too hot."
"Okay," I said, looking down at the cup, waiting...waiting...waiting...for him to say something, anything.
"P'Kim," he said with a bright smile and cheerful tone. I started to get suspicious.
"The caller was my older sister's friend. She's my friend as well. She's a family friend." I started to feel that he was blabbing away, not knowing what to really say.
"Okay," I said, "she was complaining that you have been neglecting her."
He laughed out loud, but it sounded like an uncomfortable laugh to me. I really doubted that she would be complaining of being neglected if there was nothing special going on between them. But I really really wanted to give Copter the benefit of the doubt.
