Unspoken Love
Since Valentines Day is almost there, many contests will be coming so currently this is my entry for @I_NEED_MY_PANDA_LOVE and for Wattpad Fanfic contest.
This is a Gruniper AU oneshot, inspired from Chilea.
Juniper blushed as gazed at the loopy handwriting on the letter. Careful not to let it fold, she put it in her satchel and quietly came out of the library.
She went over to sit down with her friends and opened a book in front of her so that they would not bother her.
But her mind was far away from the reality.
Who could it be? It was Valentines week in school and since he past week Juniper had been receiving roses, messages, chocolates and poems, like the recent one. At first she had been shy and had hidden away the message, afraid that anyone would see it. But over time she had begun to enjoy the stalker's writings. His romantic messages and those beautiful and fragrant flowers. Slowly the enjoyment had turned into admiration and then blossomed into love.
Juniper's hand itched to get out the letter and read it once again but she hadn't told anyone about it and if her friends saw it...
Let's just say Juniper had a reason not to tell them anything.
A cough from Lacy interrupted her.
"Hey listen", Tessa said, casually, holding a sheet of colored paper in her hand.
"This is so cute, I wonder for whom it is. If I had a rose for every time I thought of you, I'd be picking roses for a lifetime."
Juniper frowned as she tried to remember where she had heard this quote. Realization dawned on her and she snatched the paper from Tessa and blushed furiously.
"Aww! Juni has a lover", Lacy teased.
"And she has a crush on him", Tessa added and the two of them giggled.
"No, I-", Juniper said, desperately trying to make up a fib, but Lacy held up her hand.
"Please Juni, I can see it on your face."
Juniper sighed in defeat.
"Okay! Yes, I like him", she whispered, and the duo started cooing until the librarian sent a sharp glare across their way.
The bell rang, indicating dispersal time and Juniper rushed outside, trying to avoid the inevitable. Sure enough I found Lacy and Tessa by my side in a second, bombarding her with questions.
"Who is he?"
"Is he handsome?"
"How long has this been going on?"
"Why didn't you tell us?"
"Have you kissed?"
The last question surprised her so much that she halted to a stop and shook her head.
"No of course not!" Juniper flustered.
"I haven't met him and I don't even know his name!"
"Really?" Lacy asked incredulously.
Juniper nodded as she quickly collected her stuff and went off, to home.

As soon as Juniper had finished all her homework, she grabbed her phone and messaged him.
Hi
He responded immediately.
Hi. How are you? Did you get my poem?
Juniper blushed as she thought of it.
Yes. It was very sweet
I am glad you like it. I've never been one for literature but you seem to inspite me to write .
If Juniper's cheeks could get any redder she might have been mistaken for a tomato.
You love me so much, yet you refuse to meet me or tell me your name.
There was a long pause. Juniper almost thought that he had logged off but then his reply came.
I might not be your perfect Valentine.
I don't care. I just want to see you. I... I love you.
Juniper flushed as she typed those words out. She was finally admitting that she loved him.
How her heart raced on receiving his messages, how it melted on reading his sweet poetry and how it ached to meet him.
Alright. Meet me tomorrow in the cafeteria after school is over.
Juniper could have screamed with delight. Finally!
Tomorrow was Valentines Day and he was going to finally meet her.
She raced out of her house, literally flying across the streets as she bought a bouquet of flowers, all that while only wishing time would actually fly by.

Juniper alone knew how she had survived the whole day. She had always been an attentive and diligent student but today her mid kept wandering away and her eyes kept looking at her wristwatch.
She even daydreamed in the nature class, which was her favorite!
Time dragged by and her friends kept bugging her about her crush but she ignored them. Finally when the bell rang at the end of the day, Juniper rushed out towards her locker. She was literally flying with joy but had to stop when she saw a huge crowd in front of the school bulletin board.
She was just about to walk away from it when she spotted Tessa and Lacy in the middle of it, trying to drive everyone away and tearing at the papers on the board.
Weird.
Curiosity won and Juniper headed towards her friends. By the time she reached them, most of the students had dispersed and Tessa had a some crushed papers in her hand.
"Lacy, Tessa, what was that about?" Juniper asked.
Lacy and Tessa's eyes grew wide upon seeing her and Tessa stuffed the crumpled papers in her backpack.
"Nothing, absolutely nothing", Lacy said, but Juniper knew something was wrong. She went towards Tessa, trying to see those papers.
"It's nothing really", Tessa said, frantically but Juniper managed to get hold of one paper and her eyes widened as she read it.
It was a message. A message that she had written, just a few days ago. It even had her name beneath.
Tears filled her eyes as she processed what was happening.
"Juni, are you alright?" Lacy asked, worriedly.
"It's alright Juniper", Tessa coaxed.
"He's just a foolish and disgusting stalker who-"
But Juniper couldn't hear anything else. She ran out of the place, hearing her friends call her name but she didn't stop.
She didn't stop until she bumped into a guy with blonde hair and blue eyes. Octavian.
His eyes twinkled with mischief and there was a sneer on his face.
"How did you like the Valentine's gift, love?"
Juniper's eyes widened if they could anymore and hot tears sprang out of her eyes.
She bit her lip and turned away from him. She ran and ran, never stopping, Octavian's cruel laughter ringing in her

Juniper was a mess the next morning.
Her brown hair were tangled and looked like a bird's nest. Her eyes were red and puffy from crying the whole night and she still couldn't stop.
She couldn't believe what had happened.
How she had fallen for Octavian. The biggest jerk and bully in the entire school.
How he had used her.
And how Juniper had thought that someone would ever love a pathetic girl like her. She was a moron. A loser.
There was a sudden knock on her door.
"Come in", Juniper croaked, expecting to see her mother but instead she saw a boy with thick brown hair, deep brown eyes and a small beard, with a limping leg.
"Grover", Juniper said, in astonishment.
She knew him. He was in a few of his classes and they had worked on a nature project once but that didn't explain his presence.
Grover stared at her fro a moment.
Juniper cursed for letting him in. He shouldn't have seen her like this. She was a mess.
She expected him to say something about her appearance but instead he said, 'I'm sorry'
Juniper blinked in confusion.
"Grover I-"
"I know that really doesn't count for much", he said hurriedly.
"And I know what I've done to you is really bad and it's all my fault that you are like this."
Juniper's head swarmed in confusion.
"Grover what are you talking about?" Juniper demanded.
"It was me", he said quietly.
"I was the one who sent you all those messages and poems and chocolates and roses. I am your stalker."
"Wha-at", Juniper said, bewildered.
"But Octavian-"
"H e read my messages yesterday", Grover said.
"I don't know how he got my phone but he printed out your messages and he threatened to hurt you if I told anyone and he beat me and I -I."
Grover broke down moaning, his head in his arms while Juniper just stared at him, his words still floating in her mind.
Grover had been her stalker.
He had sent her those poems.
He loved her.
He actually loved her enough to get beaten by Octavian.
"Grover", Juniper whispered.
Grover looked up.
"It wasn't your fault Grover, you never meant anything bad. You're the bravest guy I have ever met. Fighting Octavian for me."
A lump formed in her throat but Juniper didn't let it hinder her speech.
"D-do you really like me?"
Grover laughed, a shaky laugh.
"Like is not enough Juni. I've had a crush on you since I ever laid my eyes on you and I've loved you ever since. I desire you so strongly, I- I wouldn't be able to live without you. I just-"
But that much was enough for Juniper.
She ran upto him and flung herself into his arms, taking in his woody smell. How soft his hair felt between his fingers, how comforting her arms felt around her.
Juniper broke apart from the hug looking flustered.
"I-I am sorry you had to see me like this" she flushed.
"I look horrible, I-"
Grover cut her off.
"You are the most beautiful person I have ever laid my eyes upon."
With that his lips were upon her as she was enveloped in him. They pressed closer and Juniper wished that the moment would never end, it was a glorious moment. Her first kiss.
She hoped and she believed that many more were to come in the future.
And that's done!
It was so cute in the end that I even fangirled while writing it.
Hope you all liked it.
