The following day was gloomy

Rain slammed on the windscreen

'It will rain' blasted through the radio

'Great' He thought sarcastically

A bitter frown on his face

He thought back to a few weeks before

The rain brought back unwanted memories

Her beautiful wet face as she sat in his car

His knuckles turned white

The grip on the steering wheel was too strong

He needed to forget her

On cue, his stomach rumbled

A reminder of his forgotten hunger

He stopped at a gas station

Hasty feet ushered him into the store

An attempt at avoiding the rain

A terrible attempt

He grabbed the first thing he saw

Marshmallows were her favorite

His hurting chest made him replace them

He wasn't watching his steps

His chest collided with another

His hand grabbed the mystery girl's waist

A reflex to prevent her fall

Apologies were exchanged and both went their way

They met again at the cash register

"You aren't following me, are you? "

She said with a hint of tease

"Rachel"

She held out her hand in greeting

"Aaron"

Both smiled at each other

Thinking it was the last meeting

If only they knew what the fates had planned.......
