he didn't know

what to say

he just sat there

staring

as the pretty girl

with galaxies in her eyes

and flowers in her hair

smiled at him

how are you so beautiful?

he wondered 

and the girl giggled 

placing her lips on his

enticing him

and luring him in

and he kissed back

eager and innocent 

his lips moving with hers

but when she pulled away

his lips were raw

scratched and bleeding

and hers

were covered in thorns

too bad you can't have me

the girl whispered

plucking a flower out 

of her hair

and placing it 

behind his ear
