●5| A writers puke-bag●

Oh wow I have been gone for some time oopsie

In my defense, no one uses Wattpad, so whatever.

Anyways, I found this question thingie, and it looked cool, so I wanna do it!! I used to do these so often back in the day lol, they are fun.

This is a question sheet for writers, and I am just going to answer the questions even tho no one asked or cares, because fuck it, why not?

Also disclaimer: I am not great at what I do and I am very aware of that. I am just a hobby author and I don't necessarily plan on like, becoming a famous published writer (although that would be nice), so like, don't be a dick if that's possible xoxo Only because my skill level is here right now doesn't mean it won't improve, and I am allowed to be proud of myself even if I know there is room for betterment.

With that out of the way, let's go lol!

How many fics have you written?

I have no idea!

I have been actively writing fanfic since like 2016, and in that time there have been multiple periods where I was unmotivated for months on end or would start and never finish a fic. In fact, to this day my only finished fanfics are my one-shots. So I have written many, many things, but most of it is lost to time and unfinished.

Right now I have 34 published works on ao3. One is not even mine (I was added as a co-creator since I beta-read it) and I believe two are ongoing, one is discontinued. The rest are one-shots.

Average length of your fics

Since I primarily write one-shots, they are oftentimes very short. The longest they get is 4k words, but that's rare. Most are anywhere between one and two thousand. Right now I am posting roughly three thousand per chapter in my ongoing fanfiction.

Favourite trope to write

Not sure if that counts, but I love writing crack. I have a terrible sense of humour and I love putting that stupid crap into words. Oftentimes these fics flop, but that is to be expected lol

I also love tropes like soulmate AUs or coffee shop AUs, although I rarely ever write them.

Favourite part of writing

Sometimes when I write I have this moment where everything kind of clicks, and it all just comes together. I love that. I oftentimes struggle describing emotions or actions, so whenever it seems to be going well, it makes me incredibly relieved lol!

Writing pet peeves

Emotions and actions of course. I just cannot write them for the life of me.

Since English is not my native tongue, but it is the language I primarily write in, I sometimes forget or confuse words, or can't seem to find the right ones. I hate that.

Or sometimes I reuse words way too much. That also pisses me off. Very frustrating.

Writing habits

My only habit is writing whenever it's the most inconvenient, such as in the middle of the night, or during school hours, etc. It actually goes pretty well sometimes, but it mostly turns out bad because I am under stress while working, so of course it never turns out how I want it to.

A line from a WIP

I don't have many WIPs, but here is a snippet from the chapter I am working on for my current main fic "Broken Rope (and how to fix it)"

"That voice.. Soap never seemed to know when it was time to shut up, and it was a matter of time until Ghost inevitably snapped. But it didn't seem to come. Not now. Ghost had his theory why that was, but he'd never bring it up, not even to Price. He was a strong man, but not.. like that."

I haven't updated this fic in two or so weeks because I am kind of stuck, but also because I simply don't have the patience right now, oops-

An idea for a fic you have

It's kind of dumb, but I wanted to write a short little Valentine's day fic about Roach and Gaz from Call of Duty fake-dating so they would get free stuff lol

It's very basic and stupid but I love these two idiots so much, even though I don't even ship them.

I also planned a short Apocalypse/Pandemic AU GhostSoap fic, but that is most likely going to get scrapped, unfortunately.

A favourite line from a fic

I assume this is meant to be a line from my own, but really, there is nothing memorable in any of my fics. I suppose this one from "Emergency Commissions" was kind of funny.

"From: [email protected]

To:

Subject: OK lmao

"Nah I don't rlly need refs for poses unless you have anything specific in mind.

Iceberg always gave me furry vibes, but I thought he'd be like, idk, a polar bear or whatever. And why is yours a shrimp?? Like I get wolves and deers and foxes n shit but mf rlly said "nah I want a fucking shrimp let's go".

Is it appropriate to draw my co workers as furries banging?? Does Iceberg even know about this?? Why do you want to see a crab bang a shrimp lmao but like slay whatever

Also give me the money at work, and be super suspicious about it so it looks like I'm selling you drugs" "

A favourite scene from a fic

Ehhhhhhh

I don't know.

There was a scene in "SCP 4999 destroys capitalism" where Jeff Bezos is set on fire but idk if this is what is meant by this question.

Your most treasured fic

My recent fic "Selfish Warmth" is definitely the one I am the proudest of right now. It's a little angsty and there isn't much dialogue, and I think it turned out pretty great.

I am also incredibly proud of "Broken Rope", since it's the longest fic I have been actively writing, although there is a lot of room for improvement. The fic is a slow burn, and I fear the slow burn is a little.. too slow, and that there is way too much filler. So I am going to try and work on that.

Methods when writing

I don't know what is exactly meant by "methods", but my writing process is just me writing a script and then rewriting the fic like a million times before I am either satisfied or too tired to care anymore (most commonly the latter).

Favourite character

My favourite character I have ever written was Dr. Gears from the SCP Foundation. He is incredibly easy to write, and I relate to him a lot, which makes it even better. He isn't my favourite character overall, but he is very fun to work with, especially in crack fics.

For context, this is a 63 year old man who talks and acts like a robot. Man is stone-cold and basically emotionless, and I find the idea of him with a little blue-haired twink incredibly amusing.

Favourite title

"Call of Booty"

It's just a very dumb Alejandro x Rodolfo x Graves fanfiction where Graves gets fucked because why not. I find the title so fucking funny for some reason.

Also "Skeleton in the laundry pile". It's a reference to how some people have metaphorical skeletons in their closet, aka. a secret or something, but in this case, it was not in the closet yet, but in the laundry pile. I think it's a pretty funny title and makes sense with the context, at least to me.

Most used tag

Probably "Attempt at Humor", because I am one unfunny motherfucker, but by God I love pretending my sense of humour is peak.

Most used rating

Probably the General rating. I don't write half as much Explicit stuff as I wish I would.

Something all your fics have

Probably the way I write dialogue.

I am someone who gets confused easily with dialogue, so I need to separate it from the rest of the paragraph, or else I get lost. This is why I write any speech that is happening like

-"This", with the little line and in its own paragraph.

If a sentence follows the speech, it is written in the same paragraph, but once that sentence is done, everything else comes in a new paragraph.

It's impractical, and maybe a little weird to look at, but to me personally it's the easiest way to not lose my mind lol!

Most important part of writing

Basic Bitch ass answer: Having fun. Seriously, if you see that writing gets frustrating and that maybe you don't like the idea as much or that something is missing, you should retry. Don't be upset if you have to scarp like thousands of words in. It is frustrating, sure, but once you start over it gets so much better.

At least for me. One time I had to scrap 10k words in, and I haven't been the same since, so yeah.

A fic that best represents you as a writer

All my god-awful crackfics.

I sometimes consider starting over again and taking down all my fics, but then I remember that without these terrible fics, I wouldn't have anything to go off on. Yes, maybe most of my writing is terrible, but if everything were good, I'd have nothing to measure my improvement off of. I can look back to my first ever MHA fanfic and my most recent COD fanfic and be like "Yep, I am not as awful as back then", and that makes me proud as a writer.

So yeah, even though I will always be represented by the terrible and unfunny shit I have spawned into the internet, I can still work with it and improve :)) At least that's what I tell myself because I am delusional lol

Anyways, usually, you are supposed to tag people to answer the same questions, but I don't know who to tag since no one is active here so ehh @Galardriel maybe this is sum for u?

OK bye
