Chapter 124:

At the time of the day, people were going and coming out of a huge building and the sign of the hospital was it. A couple was carrying a baby, children were walking with some couple.

In the cabin of the doctor, Avneil was sitting with the doctor who was checking the recent reports. She closed the file.

Doctor: I have checked the reports, and everything is fine but I want to do her complete checkup so Mrs Khanna.

Avni nods. She looked at Neil who signed go. Avni nods and they go. Neil was sitting on the chair and was waiting for Avni and the doctor. The doctor opened the curtain and Avni came to sit with Neil.

Neil: Is everything alright, doctor?

Doctor: yes, Avni is fine. She doesn't need any medication now but I am prescribing some vitamins....

They talked then the doctor gives the file to Neil.

Neil: thank you, doctor.

The doctor nods.

They came out and Neil looked at Avni who was lost.

Neil: what happened?

Avni came back to reality and she looked at Neil. Avni shook her head.

Avni: nothing. Let's go.

Neil was not satisfied with her answer.

Neil: where will I drop you, office or home?

Avni: office.

Neil: ok.

They go.

Avneil were on the way and Avni was silently looking out from the window. Neil looked at her then he looked at the road.

Neil: what happened, Avni, I am seeing that you are lost since you came after the check-up.

Avni was looking at him.

Neil: you will not tell to your Neil?

Avni: nothing, Neil, old memories and all, just thinking about life. Life is so unpredictable. When will it turn, no one can say this. There was a time when we were craving for a baby and went into that room with some hopes and fear then the time came when we got the best news of our life there and now again we went there but this time with shattered dreams.

Avni looked down and moves her watch to control her emotions. Neil keeps his hand on her hand while focusing on the road.

Neil: and the time will surely come when we will again get the good news in that same room.

Avni looked at Neil who turns his face to her and smiled. Avni smiled with teary eyes. She wipes her eyes and keeps her head on Neil's shoulder who smiled and kissed her forehead. Avni smiled. The journey was silent then Neil saw something and stopped the car. Avni moves away.

Avni: what happened?

Neil pointed outside and Avni looked there. Avni saw an ice cream truck.

Neil: ice cream.

Avni smiled.

Neil: you sit here, I am coming.

Avni nods. Neil smiled and opened the seat belt. Neil opened the door and goes. Neil saw some children are looking at something sadly. He followed their gaze and saw the balloons. Neil feels bad then he smiles and goes to them. Avni was looking at him. She frowns.

Neil: Hi, bacha party, kya howa? (What happened?)

The kids looked downs.

Neil: wo chahiye. (You want that?)

Neil pointed at balloons and they nodded. Neil smiled and goes. The kids get sad. Avni was watching them. Neil bought the balloons and goes to the kids. Avni was looking at him. She smiled to see them and adores him. Neil gave the balloons to the kids and all gets happy. Neil also bought them ice cream and he smiled to see them happy.

Avni: you will surely prove the best father, Neil. Hope, your belief wins this time.

Avni closed her eyes and prays.

Avni: God, please fulfil our wish. Please bless us with a kid, please.

Avni sighed and opened her eyes. She saw Neil is coming so she wipes her eyes and smiled. Neil got in the car.

Neil: aah, it's so hot today.

Avni smiled. Neil gave her ice cream and they enjoyed the ice cream with their chit chat. They heard a knock on the window and Avni opened that. She saw a little girl who was selling flowers. Avneil feels bad.

Girl: Phool le lo. (Please buy the flowers).

Avni: aap ka naam kya hai? (What is your name?)

Girl: Meera.

Avneil smiled.

Avni: bohat pyaara naam hai bilkul aap ki tarha. (Your name is really beautiful just like you.)

Neil smiled. They don't want to embarrass her to ask questions about her education and poverty. Avni bought the flowers and gave her extra money.

Avni: thank you.

The girl got happy and she goes. Avneil smiled.

Avni: I wish that no child will see this day.

Neil: true.

Avneil looked at each other. Avni closed the window, she passed the bouquet to Neil who was surprised to see that.

Avni: usually, Husbands give flowers to wives but I want to give you this bouquet as a thank you gift. Thank you for everything you did for me, thank you for making me part of your life.

Neil smiled and took the bouquet. He leans toward her.

Neil: there are many other ways to say thank you, you can thank me in those ways also.

Avni: like?

Neil: like cheek kiss, lip kiss aaanndd...

Neil winked. Avni was stunned. Avni hits his arm.

Avni: shameless.

Neil: what is the thing of shameless in it. We are married.

Avni looked down and blushes.

Neil: now come on, thank me.

Neil makes a pout.

Avni: Neil?

Neil: ok, you thank me this way in our room but at least you can thank me in another way.

Avni frowns. Neil points at his cheek then he turns his face. Avni was looking at him.

Neil: come on, I am waiting.

Avni smiled. She cups his cheek with one hand then she moves to him and kissed his cheek. Neil smiled with closed eyes then they looked at each other and smiled.

A car stopped outside Avni's office.

Neil: we reached your destination, ma'am.

Avni smiled.

Neil: shall I come to take you in the evening?

Avni: No, I have my car.

Neil: But I want to take you.

Avni: Neil, don't worry, I will come home by car.

Neil was looking at her. He was surprised that how she understand. Avni smiled.

Avni: what? Only you can understand my untold words.

Neil looked down. He was holding the steering wheel. Avni cups his face. Neil looked at her.

Avni: Neil, I promise you that from now I will not do anything that hurt you. I will not hurt myself.

Neil was emotionally looking at her. Neil smiled with teary eyes. He hugs Avni and kissed her hair. Avni got emotional. They broke the hug then Avni wipes Neil's tears and kissed his forehead. Neil closed his eyes then Neil looked at Avni. Neil also kissed her forehead. They smiled with teary eyes.

At the time of the night, Avni was sitting on the bed and was reading a book. Neil was looking at her by standing at the door. Neil moved back and thinks. Neil got an idea to tease Avni and he smirked.
