Chapter 163:

It was the time of the night, there was complete silence all around the Mehta house. The lights of the Mehta house were on. Aman was passing by the corridor and he stopped outside his room and frowns to see the off lights. He saw the time on his watch and thinks. Aman opened the door of his room and he heard the sobbing. Aman turned and it didn't take a time to switch on the light as it is his room and in darkness also he can find his things. Aman turned his face and he saw Kareena wiping her tears. Aman thinks. He saw her luggage in the corner. Kareena got up.

Kareena said while wiping her tears: Aman, you came. You get fresh till then I get your dinner.

Aman was looking at Kareena who looked at him and then she looked down and moved. Kareena passed by Aman and she goes. Aman thinks.

Aman in mind: Di was right, I should give a try to our relationship... But after what Kareena did how can I forgive her? I can't forget that. If I forgive Kareena then my child will never forgive me. No, I can't forget what she did. She killed my child.

Aman thinks.

On the other side, Avni was sitting on the bed and Neil came there. He saw Avni is lost in thinking. Neil frowned and he looked at Avni. Neil came and Avni came back to reality. She looked up at Neil. Neil sat on the bed.

Neil: what happened?

Avni sighs.

Avni: nothing. I was thinking about Aman and Kareena.

Neil looked down.

Avni: Neil, you talk to Aman. He will listen to you. He respects you.

Neil: Avni, when I have not forgotten when Maddy Bua tried to do then how can I ask Aman to forget that? When I have not forgiven Maddy Bua for trying to harm my child then how can I ask Aman to forgive Kareena when he has lost his child?

Avni: you are right at your place but you and I, we both know how much Aman loves Kareena. He can't live without her.

Neil looked down.

Avni: you know, Kareena asked for a divorce from Aman.

Neil was shocked.

Neil: what?

Avni nods.

Avni: We have to do something. I have talked with Aman and he said that he will try but we also have to do something. We can't let them get separated like this.

Neil: Avni, it is their personal matter and now they are mature they can handle their matters.

Avni was looking at Neil and she had an idea that Neil will say this. Avni did not agree with Neil.

Avni: they are our siblings and when we see that our siblings are going on the wrong path it is our duty to bring them on the right path.

Neil looked at Avni.

Neil: but here Aman and Kareena both are on the right path right now.

Avni: exactly. So, they should be together.

Neil: Avni, I know you are concerned for them but let them decide what they want. It should be their decision whether they want to live together or they want to part their ways.

Avni was looking at Neil with disappointment. Neil looked at Avni. Neil got up and he goes from there. Avni was looking at Neil. Avni thinks.

One week passed and now Neav and Avni both were fine. The Khanna family was very happy and they were taking care of Neav and were all set to spoil the new member. They carry Neav in their arms but as per the Doctor's advice, they were not carrying him much but now when they get to know that Neav is fine so they made many plans to do.

It was the time of night, the moon was shining in the sky and trying to peep into Avneil's room but the window and curtains were closed. The lights were on and Avni made Neav lay on the small bed and she covers him properly. Neil came after changing his clothes and wiping his hair with the towel. Neil saw Avni and smiled.

Neil: so, he slept.

Avni: yeah. You sit here with him so that I can change my clothes.

Neil was looking at Avni and he lowered his gaze. Avni got up and was going to the bathroom but Neil turned and he holds Avni's hand. Neil pulled Avni to him who lands in his arms. Neil kept his hands on Avni's waist and Avni's hands were on Neil's chest. Avni opened her eyes and she looked at Neil who was smiling.

Neil: what's the hurry, wifey? Give some time to your poor husband too.

Avni was looking at him because she is seeing this side of Neil after a long.

Neil: Since when your son came, you have forgotten me.

Avni smiled and she moves her hand from Neil's chest to his shoulders and encircled her arms around Neil's neck. Neil looked at Avni's arms then he looked at Avni.

Avni: so, I already told you that I will give more love to our son.

Neil raised his eyebrows and looked down. Neil looked at Avni.

Neil: but I also deserve some love.

Neil made a sad face and lowered his gaze.

Neil: but it is like you have forgotten me. You don't even love me now.

Avni smiled and she pulled Neil's cheeks.

Avni: aww, my baby.

Avni again encircled her arms around Neil's neck.

Avni: I am sorry. Say, what do you want?

Neil straightens his eyebrows and he smirked. Neil looked at Avni.

Neil: you will give me, what I will say?

Avni nods. Neil looked at Avni's lips.

Neil: I want a kiss.

Avni widens her eyes and Neil looked at Avni. She hits Neil's chest.

Avni: always a single-track mind.

Neil smiled. Avni too. They looked at each other and Neil's eyes fall on Avni's lip. Avni also felt that. Neil moved to Avni by looking at Avni's lips. Their faces were closed and Avni closed her eyes. Neil too closed his eyes and he moved to Avni's lips. Neil kissed Avni who felt a shiver in her body. Neil cups Avni's face and Avni ruffles Neil's hair. Neil moved away and was panting. He saw Avni's eyes are closed. Avni opened her eyes and she looked at Neil. Both were panting. Neil smiled to see Avni. Avni hugs Neil and hides her face in Neil's chest. Neil smiled and hugs Avni. It has been five years of their marriage but still, sometimes Avni blushes like a new bride.

Avni: I have to change.

Avni turned without looking at Neil. Neil holds her hand and again he pulled her back but this time, Avni was looking down.

Neil: May I help you?

Avni looked at Neil surprisingly.

Avni: no, thanks.

Neil: but, I want to. I want to do the honours.

Avni was looking at Neil.

Avni: leave me, Neil, I have to sleep earlier today because the day after tomorrow is Neav's naming ceremony so I have to do preparation for it so please leave me.

Neil: so, it will be good if I help you. Your time will get saved.

Avni: no, thanks.

Avni pushed Neil and ran to the washroom while smiling. Her nightdress was already there but she could not change it before because of Neav who starts crying. Avni goes and Neil smiled to see Avni.

Neil: I just love this blushing Avni.

Neil smiled.

Later, Avneil was sleeping peacefully but Neav starts crying. Avneil woke up. Neil turned to Avni who sat on the bed. Neil closed his eyes because he knew that Avni will ask him to sleep. Avni tried to feed Neav but he was crying. Neil opened his eyes and frowns.

Neil: what happened to him?

Avni: don't know, he is not even having milk.

Neil sat on the bed.

Neil: give him to me.

Avni gave Neav to Neil who checked him.

Neil: Avni, he is hungry. Maybe, he is not getting enough milk that's why he is crying.

Avni: so now?

Neil: give him lactose in a feeder bottle.

Avni: He doesn't like that. I told you, this will happen that's why I didn't want to come from the hospital.

Neil made a face.

Neil: ok, fine, at least now get his feeder bottle and feed him.

Avni nods and she gets up and came back with a feeder bottle.

Avni: give him to me.

Neil nods and gives Neav to Avni. Avni tries to feed him but Neav refused to drink.

Avni: see.

Neil thinks.

Neil: tomorrow, I will talk to Doctor Nandani, maybe she changes his lactose.

Avni nods. Neav was crying.

Avni: ssshhhhh... Baby, calm down.

Avni tried to feed Neav from the bottle, Neav drank a small quantity and he slept.

Avni sighs. Neil too.

Neil: thank God, he slept.

Avni was upset. Neil saw that and he understood that. Avni makes Neav lay.

Neil: it's ok, Avni, it happens.

Avni looked at Neil and then she looked down and nods. Avni lays and she closed her eyes. Neil was looking at Avni and thinks. Neil lays on the bed and was looking at Avni.

After some time, Neav again starts crying and Neil wakes up and he looked at Avni who was sleeping. Neil sat and he picked up Neav.

Neil: ssshhhhh.

Neil looked at Avni and he got up from the bed by carrying Neav in his arms. Neil was walking and trying to calm Neav.

Neav: sshhhhh... stop crying. Mamma is sleeping. You have troubled her a lot today. She is upset because she is not able to fill your this small stomach. Ssshhhhh...

Neil was walking and Neav stopped crying. Neav looked at the roof. Neil sighs to see Neav calm.

Neil: thank God.

Neil looked at Neav and smiled.

Neil: you are liking it, hmm.

Neil looked at Avni and smiled to see her sleeping. Neil goes to the couch, he sat on the couch and Neav was in his arms. Neil was talking with Neav and he yawns. Suddenly, Neav again starts crying and Neil looked at him. Neil also looked at Avni and he got up. Avni stirs in sleep and she rubs her eye with the back of her hand. Avni looked at Neil who was trying to calm Neav. Avni sat. Neil turned his face and he saw Avni is sitting on the bed.

Neil: you woke up. I tried to calm him but he... Sorry.

Avni: why are you saying sorry. It is not your fault. I am not able to fulfil his desire.

Neil: nothing is like that, Avni. Don't feel guilty.

Avni: give him to me.

Neil nods and he comes to Avni. Neil gives Neav to Avni and he sits. Avni checks Neav.

Avni: he wets his clothes that's why he is crying.

Avni was about to take Neav in her arms as Neav was on her lap so that she can make him lay on the bed.

Neil: you sit here, I get his clothes.

Avni nodded and Neil got up. Neil goes to the cupboard and Avni was looking at him.

Avni changed Neav's clothes and then she took Neav in her lap. Avni fed Neav lactose in the feeder bottle. Avni caressed Neav's hair and Neil was looking at Neav then he looked at Avni. Neil thinks.

Avni: I am sorry, my baby. Mamma is very bad, she can't even feed you properly.

Neil was looking at Avni.

Avni: I am failed as a mother. I am unable to fulfil your basic need. I am sorry. Mamma is bad.

Neil kept his hand on Avni's shoulder. Avni looked at Neil. Neil moved to Avni and he cupped Avni's face.

Neil: don't feel guilty. It is not your fault. It is happening because of the complications and nowadays, many mothers do not feed their babies. The babies survive on lactose so don't feel bad. Everything will be fine.

Avni was looking at Neil with teary eyes. Neil kissed Avni's forehead and Avni closed her eyes then Neil touched his forehead to Avni's forehead. Avni cries by closing her eyes.

Soon, Neav slept and he sobbed in sleep. Avneil felt bad. Avni picked Neav in her arms as he was in Avni's lap. Avni kissed Neav's forehead.

Avni: my baby.

Neav made a pout and Avneil smiled to see Neav. Avneil looked at each other and Neil cupped Avni's face with one hand. He nods and Avni also nods. They looked at Neav who was sleeping peacefully by disturbing the sleep of his parents.
