Chapter 143:

It was the time of night, the moon was shining in the sky. The Khanna mansion was decorated for the party. Inside it, people were enjoying the night.

Neil was standing with some men.

Avni was coming downstairs and was unaware of Maddy's evil planning. The water was splashed on the floor and she did not see that. Neil turned his face and his eyes falls to the floor. Neil was shocked to see water. Neil looked at Avni.

Neil: Avni.

Neil looked at the floor.

Neil shouts: Avniii.

He ran. Before Avni hears him, she stepped on the water and slipped. Everyone looked at Avni and was shocked.

Avni: aaahhh.

Neil shouts: Avniii.

Avni was about to fall but Neil holds her hand on time and pulled her to him. Neil holds her waist with his second hand. Avni's eyes were closed. Everyone ran to them. Maddy fumed in anger by hiding at the side.

Avni opened her eyes and she saw that she did not hit the floor. She turned her face and saw Neil. She saw fear on Neil's face. Neil makes her stand properly. Avni touched her belly and Neil cupped her face.

Neil: you, you ok?

Neil kept his hand on Avni's belly.

Neil: baby is fine, hmm?

Avni looked down and saw the water. She was still in shock. She touched her belly to feel her child. Avni looked at Neil who was already looking at her. Their eyes filled with tears and they were just looking at each other. Both families were asking them but they could not hear a single sound. Neela maa cups Avni's face but she was not in her sense. Avni looked at her.

Nm: you ok?

Avni looked at her womb and was holding it. She touched it.

Avni: my, my baby.

Avni looked at Neil then she looked at the womb.

Avni: Ne, Neil, our baby.

Neil got emotional. He suppressed his lips. Neil cups Avni's face.

Neil: everything is fine. Relax.

Neil touched his face to her. Avni holds his wrists and they cried.

Suddenly Avni winced: aah.

She holds her belly. Neil panicked.

Neil: what happened?

Avni: aah, Neil, it's paining.

Neil was shocked. Everyone got emotional.

Shweta: Tillu, take her to the hospital.

Neil looked at her. Neil thinks.

Neil: Dr Prachi.

Bebe: first make her sit somewhere.

Neil: yeah.

Neil holds Avni's hand.

Neil: come, Avni.

Neil and Neela maa took her to the couch.

Neil: mom, give her water. I have to contact Dr Prachi.

Neil took out his phone. He turned to go but Avni holds his hand. Neil looked at the hand then he looked at Avni who was in pain.

Avni: please don't go anywhere.

Everyone got emotional. Neela maa cupped Avni's face.

Nm: bacha, let him go.

Avni's eyes were closed. She shook her head. Avni cried in pain. Maddy smirked.

Neil: ok, ok.

Neil sat beside her and dialled a number. Neil took out a hanky and he wiped Avni's sweat.

Neil: Hello, Doctor Prachi.

Neil talked to her. He was caressing Avni's hair.

Neil smiled.

Neil: ok, come fast.

Neil cuts the call.

Nm: what did she say?

Neil: She is nearby here. She is coming.

Bebe thanked God.

Shweta came.

Shweta: Water.

Shweta passed the water to Neil. Neil tried to make Avni drink water. Avni denied.

Neil: just a sip.

Avni shook.

Neil: Please, Avni.

Avni drank the water.

Neil: we have to take her to the room.

Shweta: yeah, take her to the room downstairs.

Avni suppressed her lips and shook her head.

Avni: no.

Neil looked at her. He caressed her hair.

Neil: Avni, please.

Avni: no, I will not go there.

Neil: Avni, try to understand.

Bebe: Neil, take her to my room.

Neil nods. He got up. Neil picked up Avni and took her from there. Everyone goes behind him. Neil makes Avni lay on the bed who holds Neil's arm. Avni wants him near her. Neil sat beside her and caressed her hair. Neil looked around for the clock and he saw the time. It shows 09: 45 pm. Soon, the doctor came. Aman took her to the room.

Neil: Thank God, Doctor, you came.

Doctor: please you all go out let me check her.

Everyone nods. Neil was about to get up but Avni holds his arm. Neil looked at the doctor.

Doctor: it's ok, Doctor Neil, you can stay here.

Neil:  Avni, I am standing here.

Avni: please don't go anywhere.

Neil: ok.

Neil moved to the side and the doctor was checking Avni. She asked her some questions.

The doctor goes to Neil.

Doctor: Doctor Neil, we should take her to the hospital. I have to do her sonography.

Neil: is everything alright?

Doctor: I can't say anything right now but something wrong is there. I already told you that she can't carry a child...

Neil was shocked.

Doctor: Anyways, right now we have to take her to the hospital.

Neil nods.

Neil: Sure.

Doctor: a hospital is near here. We can reach there within five minutes. I sometimes go to visit there so I can talk to them, and they will permit me for sonography.

Neil: ok great.

Doctor: You take her outside. I am talking to them.

Neil: ok.

The doctor dialled a number. Neil came to Avni and picked her up. The doctor opened the doctor. Everyone was shocked to see Neil coming by carrying Avni.

Nm: what happened?

Neil: there is nothing to worry about. The doctor wants to do her sonography so I am taking her to the hospital. Please calm down and let me take her.

Everyone nods. They gave the way to Neil and they go behind Neil.

Avneil were on the way. Prakash was driving the car and they were following the doctor's car. Avni was crying because of pain. Neil looked at Avni.

Neil: Avni, relax. We are almost there. Just a few minutes.

Avni suppressed her lips. Neil kissed her forehead. Avni squeezed her eyes.

Soon, they reached. Avni was laying on the stretcher and Neil was walking with it by holdings Avni's hand who was crying because of pain.

They took her to the room and their hands got separated. Neil stands there. He caught his head and waist with his second hand. Prakash came to him and keeps his hand on Neil's shoulder. Neil looked at him and sighed in the room that what has happened suddenly. Neil was not in a condition to talk.

The doctor was doing the sonography. She asked the nurse for something who wrote on the paper and tore that. The nurse goes out. Neil saw the door open. He was about to move. The nurse comes to him.

Nurse: doctor wants these injections as soon as possible.

Neil nods. He took the paper.

Aman: give it to me. I will bring the medicines.

Neil gave him the paper. Arnav kept his hand on Aman's shoulder. They came with them. Neela maa was also there and others were at home.

Aman comes and the nurse comes. Neil took the packet and gave them to the nurse.

The nurse goes and gave the injection to the doctor. The doctor injected Avni. Soon Avni was relaxed.

The doctor came out.

Neil: Doctor, Avni.

Doctor: Relax, she is fine now.

Neil closed his eyes and sighed. Everyone was relieved.

Neil: thank you, Doctor.

Doctor sighed.

Doctor: I want to talk to you, Doctor Neil.

Neil frowns.

The doctor signed Neil to come to a side. Neil nods. He looked at his family. They nod. Neil goes with the doctor.

Neil: what happened, doctor?

Doctor: Doctor Neil, Avni is fine but your baby.

Neil was shocked.

Neil: baby? What happened to the baby?

Doctor: your baby is in danger.

Neil felt like some pulled the rug from under his feet.

Doctor: she slipped and got hurt.

Neil got emotional.

Neil: Doctor?

Doctor: Doctor Neil, please control yourself. The baby is in danger. I have given her an injection and prescribed the medicines. Here is her prescription. The next 24 hours are crucial, if her pregnancy stayed till the next 24 hours, then nothing is there to worry but if...

Neil looked at her with teary eyes.

Doctor: please take care of her. You can take her home. I will come to check on her tomorrow.

The doctor gave him the paper and goes. Neil looked at the paper and he stumbles. A tear falls from his eye. Neil came to the family and he falls on the bench. Everyone was shocked to see him. Neil was in shock and deep grief.
