Yashfa woke up to her alarm clock beeping noisily near her ear and groaned loudly.
"Kabh Jaan choty gy mery is college sy" she grumbled angrily and headed towards the bathroom, almost tripping in the way.

She had been watching a movie the night before and had gone to sleep at two in the morning, knowing she had to wake up at seven to go to college.

But what could she do? She's just a girl!

Yashfa had gotten dressed and was now heading downstairs to have breakfast, as she skipped down the stairs she saw the dining table empty, so frowning she walked towards the living room yelling for her mama.
"Mama! Mama nashta de dyn please Maine college Jana hai!"

But when she neared the couch her eyes caught someone she was so not expecting to see.
She gulped a lump in her throat and said a little Salam to which she got one in return.

"Han Yashfi Idhar bheto tum Azlaan ky pass, main abhi laty hun tumhara nashta" Hazal said to her daughter and got up to move to the kitchen.

"Mama rehny dyn main college sy hi Kuch le lun gy" Yashfa bit her lip as she desperately tried to find a way to escape the situation.
"Hargiz nahi! Chup chap nashta karo ghr sy... college ja ky bas coffee le kr ghumna hai tumny" Hazal pointed towards the couch, forcing Yashfa to sit down.
She knew her daughter a little too well!

"Kya Hal hai?" The man clad in a navy blue suit questioned to the green eyed beauty in front of him.

Sapphire eyes, high cheekbones, that narrow nose and a jawline that could cut through paper.

His pashtun traits were shining through.

"Apsy matlab?" She said in a nonchalant voice, but he could hear the underlying anger and hurt beneath those words.

He smirked in return.
'my fiesty little kitten'.

Yashfa looked at her phone hoping that the encounter would end quickly but as her eyed accidentally fell ahead of her, she noticed that he had been looking at her the whole time.
"Apko manners nahi hain? Apko sharam nahi aty 'bacchy' ko ghurte hue" She scoffed.
Azlaan clenched his jaw at her words.

'tumny soch bhi kese lia ky main tumse shadi karun ga?? Bacchion waly harkaten krna band karo Yashfa, oh who am i kidding? you're actually a child in an eighteen year old's body'

Yashfa felt a little guilty for hitting him like that with her words but he had done the same thing two years ago, broken her fragile heart.

Hazal came in with a tray containing a few sandwiches and two cups of chai.
"Azlaan beta tum bhi chai pio mery jaan, itny der baad aye ho mujhsy milne. Aur dekho kya haal banaya hua hai apna! Sahi sy soty bhi ho ya nahi! Itny halke par gaye hain" She sat beside him and kissed his forehead.

Azlaan Khan was Ayaan's dearest friend and a second baby to Jalaal and Hazal.
The poor boy had suffered enough during childhood when his parents had died and later on he had started loving with his chacha and chachi.

He had formed a bond with Ayaan in second grade, when during an argument the only one that had backed up on him was the the smart guy that did not talk with anyone.

Azlaan had decided to make him his best friend after that day.

Ayaan would often bring him to his house And they would play together for hours in his room.
When Hazal got to know about how his parents had died and his chacha and chachi treated him extremely poorly she had sobbed painfully, hugging the little boy to her chest.

For he had found his mama and baba in Hazal and Jalal.

He had completed his studies in software emgeneering as he worked two jobs to join ends.

Allah had put his blessings on him and he was now one of the most renowed names in the field.

After his 29th birthday he had left for
Dubai, where his technology company was based, to manage it better.

He had now retured after two full years.
"Mama ap baba sy please kahain ky Mujhy college drop krdyn" Yashfa said to her mother.
"Wo to meeting main hain, main Rehan ko kehty hun" Hazal called for their fairly young driver.

"Ammi main le jata hun, main wesy bhi nikal hi raha tha" Azlaan narrowed his eyes at the poor driver.
"Chalo tkh hai!" Hazal smiled and nodded towards her daughter who frowned.

"Nahi mama main Azlaan bhai ko disturb nahi krna chaty, main Rehman ky saath hi chali Jaun gy" she said walking towards her mother and kissing her cheek.
"Maine kaha na main le jaun ga" Azlaan gritted through his teeth, despising the fact that Yashfa was so adamant on going with the driver.

"Beta wo keh raha hai ky le jay ga to kyun zidd kr rahy ho, Chalo jaldi karo nahi to late ho jao gy." Hazal said and Azlaan smirked at the fuming girl.

She bid her mother goodbye and then angrily marched towards the door.
Azlaan followed her as he chuckled at her.

Yashfa sat in the passenger seat as the man beside her drove her to college.
His cologne and rolled up sleeves made her heart skip a beat, but her face betrayed nothing.

"Dupatta sahi sy lena seekho, i don't like your head uncovered." He said, not moving his eyes from the road ahead.
Yashfa's eyes knitted together and then her hands fisted her kurta.
"Main jaisy marzi dupatta lun, apko kya hai? Aap hote kon hai mujhsy kehny waly?!" She said calmly but her demeanor was far from that.

Azlaan felt a pang of hurt listening to her words but controlled himself from showing it.
"Apny zubaan ko lagam do yashfa...apni jagah mujhy boht acchy sy samjhani aty hai. Aur bhai bulaya karo Rehman ko!" His words made her tear up.

She scoffed and mumbled to herself, but the man beside her heard it.
"Abh yaad a gayi apko apni jagah."
She wiped a tear that had cascaded down her round cheek.

As they arrived in front of the college Yashfa wasted no time into descending from the range rover and walking towards the gate, leaving a regretfull man behind.

Ayaan sat in his study, assessing some documents, when his phone rang.
He picked it up without paying much attention to the call id and put it to his ear.
"Assalam-o-Alaikum" his confident voice answered the person on the other end.
Instead of hearing a coherent answer he heard a few sniffles and instantly realised who it was.

"Hooriya! Kya hua hai?" He hurriedly got up from his seat and took ahold of his keys.
" m-mujhy college sy pick krlyn gy p-please, I'm in the medical room" she muttered into her phone and Ayaan worriedly drove to where she was.

"Main abhi aya!"
When he arrived there an adorable sight greeted him.
His hoor sitting on the medic bed, sniffling slightly.
Her eyes met his when she heard heavy footsteps coming her way and Ayaan melted at her big Gray eyes shining with tears.

Her knuckles were bandaged and her knee also had a bandage and a few sanitary patches.
He neared her and held her face his hands, squishing her slightly chubby cheeks together, making her look even more adorable than she already was in his eyes.

He wiped a few tears and then spoke:" yeh kya hua meri jaan ko." His voice came out as a whisper.
Hooriya clutched his shirt and looked up at him, to Which he pulled her towards his warm embrace.
"Shh...yun mote mote ansun bahana band karo" he caressed her hair softly.
She nodded, with her head still buried in his chest, and sniffled a little.

Ayaan smiled as he looked at her and his heart melted once again.
She was extremely sensitive and even because of a little pain, her tears would be endless.

His girl's pain tolerance was just a little low.

" kesy hua yeh" he questioned her when she calmed down a little bit.
Hooriya bit her lip and then opened her mouth to speak, but closed it again instantly.
Ayaan decided to let it go for the moment and take her home.

He gripped her hand In his and moved out of the premises of the uni, a blushing Hooriya behind him.

"Araam sy" he scolded and adjusted her dupatta that had started falling from her head.
"S-sorry Maine apko disturb Kia...lekin baba aur sherry bhai mery call nahi utha rahy thy" she mumbled to him as he drove them back home.

"Hmm" Ayaan hummed refraining himself from pouring all of his feelings out into the open.

If only she knew what he was capable of doing for her.

Ayaan started driving but after a little while Hooriya noticed that they were not headed home.
"Kidhr ja rahy hain..." She twisted her fingers in her lap.

Ayaan looked over at her: " maine socha apne crybaby ka mood sahi karun, brownies khani hain na?" He looked at her expectedly, knowing well it was her favorite dessert, while Hooriya turned beet red at his words.

"I'm not a crybaby" she pouted to herself.
"Ahan" Ayaan chuckled gingerly.

He brought her brownie and ice cream in the car and watched as her eyes shone with happiness at receiveing the treat.

He'd get her that damn dessert everyday if it meant seeing her that happy!

"Go home and rest,ok?" He looked at her as held the door open for her.
She nodded and looked up at him shyly.

"Jazak Allah Bhai...A-ap mama aur baba ko nahi batayega please" she whispered and hurried away.
"Kitny zalim hain aap Hooriya" Ayaan grimaced at her use of words.

He drove back to his office and tried focusing on his work again but his thoughts were all reserved for his lady now.

"Kiske khayalon main khoye ho Ayaan miyan?" A voice interrupted the silence reigning the big office.

"What the hell man!" A full blown smile coated Ayaan's face when he saw his best friend's face.

He got up from his seat and enfugled Azlaan in a tight hug.

The next few hours were spent sipping coffee as the guys talked about their lives.

_________

Hira came in her room with two steaming cups of chai and sat down on the bed.

She picked up one of them and forwarded it to her husband who was already looking at her with a small smile on his face.
They sat in silence for a few moments as Hira rested her head on Rameez's shoulder.

"Sunain" she called out.
"Hmm" Rameez glanced at her.
"Aap Nimra baji ko janty hain na?" Her husband's eyebrows scrunched in confusion.
"Are jo Hamid bhai ki wife hain!" When she saw recongnition in his eyes, she continued.

"Unka ek beta hai, Bussines administration main masters kar raha hai." She told him.
"Han bataya tha shayad mujhy Hamid bhai ny" Rameez said, not removing his eyes from his laptop.

"Unhone Hoor ke lie rishta bheja hai" She dropped the bomb on him.
Her husband's head had never turned this fast, infact she was worried he'd cracked a bone or two.

"Kya!?!" He exclaimed.
"Itny herani wali konsi baat hai?" She questioned.
"Nahi meri bety ki abhi umr nahi hai shadi ki, na krdo tum" he shook his head.

"Rameez meri baat to sunain aap! Main konsa keh rahi hun ky Hoor ki abhi hi shadi krwa dyn, lekin ek baar Hassan ko consider to karyn. Aaj kal kahan milty hain itny pary likhy larky? Aghr aap aur Hoor razy hue to sirf engagement hi fix ho gy." She explained to him.

Hira had been getting quite a few rishtas for her daughter since she had turned eighteen, but had never told her husband, knowing how protective he was of his baby.

This time the family that had asked for Hooriya's hand were actually good people so she felt the need to discuss it with him.

Rameez reclutantly gave his permission to meet the guy and Hira contacted the family the follwing day and a dinner was fixed.

What they did not know was that someone would not take the news well at all.
