Sid looked at her and looked away thinking she doesn't want it.

Avu: Before this friendship, I want some promises

Sid: What type of promises?

Avu: Aage se kuch problem hogi we will talk about it, instead of shouting on each other. We will listen to each other. We will understand each other. Okk?

Sid nodded. Avu smiled at him which he returned back.

Avu: So friends again?

She said forwarding her hand and he accepted it smiling at her cuteness.

Sid: So how were the last years?

Avu: I thought we were gonna forget everything

Sid: Umm yee. Sorry. It's okk you don't have to share

Avu shooked her head.

Avu: So I set up a small buisness of my own. I work from home itself. Things were really difficult but of course I had to. Atleast jab Sana ko dekhti thi to mushkile asaan lagne lagti thi. But definitely everything was incomplete. Tumhari kami kabhi poori nhi hui

She said looking at him with a sad smile and teary eyes.

Sid: I am so sorry again

Avu: You don't have to. Galati hum dono ki thi and way you have brought up Rahul. Jis din maine pehli baar usko dekha tha, I felt uske parents ne itna achhe se usko pala hai. You are a great father

Sid: Agar koshish ki hoti to ek achha husband bhi ban jata

He said smiling sadly.

Sid: And you are also a great mother. Mujhe Sana ko dekh kar laga ki you came back but of course ignore kar dia

Avu: She is very irresponsible and naughty. I am not like that

Sid shooked his head.

Sid: She is childish but of course she is mature enough to handle everything. She is too mature to even take care of you. I am proud to be the father of her in fact both of them

Avu: No doubt

They talked for sometime. They were not as open as once they were. It was a bit awkward for them but they still talked. Sana and Rahul came after sometime. They smiled seeing Sidneet talking. They were too happy that atleast they talked. They brought tea and snacks and spent some family time.

Then Avu cooked dinner and Rahul helped her while Sid and Sana were sitting in front of tv. Avu switched off the tv glaring at them. Both quickly got up and set the table. They had the dinner and later went out for walk. They had ice-cream as dessert.

They came back and they decided to watch a movie. Avu made some popcorns. Sidneet used to sit away from each other but today Sana and Rahul made them sit together. Sidneet didn't argue as they knew Sana and Rahul won't agree. So they sat trying to maintain a bit distance. Sana switched off and sat with Rahul.

Rahul ate the last of popcorns from their bowl. Sana looked at it and pulled his hair.

Sana: Saare kha gya bhookad kahika

Rah: Tu to jaise khati hi nhi moti

Sana: Moti kisko bola be

Rah: Tereko

Sana slapped him. He pulled her hair.

Avu: Oye jhagda matt karo. Kyo lad rahe ho? Band kar doongi mein movie. Mein maarti bhi bohot hu tumhe pata nhi hai mere. Chup chap betho dono

Both got quite. She picked up her bowl of popcorn.

Avu: Ye lo aur ab koi nhi ladega

Rah: Nhi aap khalo mom

Sana: Hnn aur nhi khana

Avu: Are lo na. Abhi to lad rahe the

Sana: Nhi bass aap khalo

Avu: Pakka? To ab ladna matt. Mein band kar doongi aur sone bhej doongi sab ko

Sana and Rahul nodded and sat down quitely. All continued watching movie. Avu unknowingly put her head on Sid's chest. He got shocked and looked at her. She realized what she did and quickly got away.

Avu: Sorry

She said awkwardly looking down. Sid wrapped his arm around her making her look at him.

Sid: Umm it's okk. You don't have to be sorry. You can put your head

She felt it a bit awkward.

Sid: I mean only if you are comfortable

He added quickly. She was looking at him a bit unsure. He nodded with a smile assuring her. She slowly put her head on back his chest and he protectively wrapped his arm around her. They both were feeling so relaxed after years. No matter how many problems they had, this was their home, their heaven, in each other's arms. They sat their enjoying the warmth of each other's embrace. Movie was long forgotten. They were lost in each other's closeness. Avu had tears in eyes because of the comfort she got today after  years.

No matter how much independent you are, we need a partner. We all need someone beside us in our life no matter a girl or boy. We just can't spend our life alone.
