Unraveling the Mystery of Bloody Mary
"Arthur, I heard you were researching Bloody Mary?" asked Stanley as he sat in front of the blazing fire in the living room of Arthur's house.
"Yes. I became interested after hearing the stories of my aunt who always taught us various fairy tales in childhood," Arthur replied as he closed his notebook. "Reflecting in that old serving cabinet and saying the name Bloody Mary three times bothered me."
"Regardless of the tales told, where did the red drink come from?" she asked curiously.
"That's what I'm trying to find out, Stanley," Arthur replied excitedly. "Some records suggest that the Bloody Mary dates back to the era of King Henry VIII, but details are scant. Reading these records is like putting together a puzzle."
"Hmm, interesting. What if we look for more information about Bloody Mary and the time of King Henry VIII? Who knows, we might find more clues," Stanley suggested.
"Alright. We'll start at the royal library, which should know the history," Arthur said.
They set off for the royal library after investigating the history of their country. Although Arthur and Stanley had not been born during the tumultuous reign of King Henry VIII.
Arthur read it carefully. "It's written in Latin, Stanley. But the fragments I can gather say that Bloody Hendry VIII was a drink used at court dances. This is the recipe!"
"I guess that Bloody Henry VIII is some sort of pathogen of our Bloody Mary. It's possible that this drink evolved into Bloody Mary," Stanley responded.
After getting information about Bloody Hendry VIII, Arthur and Stanley became even more curious. That night, as they gathered at a tavern near the palace, they met an old poet known as Thomas.
"Excuse me, sir?" asked Arthur, starting the conversation. "I believe you are the rather famous bard, Thomas? I want to ask you a few questions."
He smiled as he replied, "Yes, I am Thomas. Sometimes you can find me here before writing poems or plays. What do you want to ask?"
"Well, we have a question about a legend from the time of King Henry VIII, about a drink called Bloody Hendry," Stanley said, glancing at Arthur.
Thomas raised his eyebrows, "What do you know so far?"
Arthur explained what they had found in the royal library and their theory on the evolution of the drink.
"Ah, Bloody Henry VIII. It was a drink I gave to the King at a play," Thomas said while recalling the past. "Bloody Henry was an experiment to create something different from the usual drinks. The original recipe I suggested used powder of pearl and dame's hand. It gives strength and vitality, and is believed to be able to change one's fate."
"Wow, that's interesting," Stanley marveled. "But how did the drink turn into the Bloody Mary we know today?"
After thinking for a moment, Thomas replied, "Unfortunately, I gave the secret of the drink recipe to one of the matron's servants in the palace who was then allowed to attend the ball. However, that servant stole Henry VIII's Bloody recipe and changed some of the ingredients in it without my permission. As a result, the red drink in his hands turned into a mysterious fusion and crashed into the large mirror in the ballroom."
Arthur and Stanley blinked simultaneously, "Then what happened next? Did the changes in the drink make the Bloody Mary as scary as we hear now?" Arthur asked curiously.
Thomas continued, "After that event, the servant was accused of disappointing the King and was subsequently put to death. However, the servants passed down the legend and one could say that he left this curse in the drink: 'Whoever speaks her name in front of the mirror will be connected to the cursed soul.'"
"Will this drink forever be a curse?" asked Stanley.
Thomas wiped the sweat from his forehead as he replied, "I'm not sure myself, but there is a story that the curse can only be lifted by a servant ancestor who becomes a ruler."
Arthur rose from his reverie and said, "The waitress who changed the recipe, what if we find out who she is?"
Thomas was a little surprised but intrigued. An excited Stanley replied, "Sure! If we find the waitress, maybe we can trace her descendants and find a way to remove the curse."
And so, they dug deeper into the maid who stole Henry VIII's Bloody recipe and how the maid's fate changed after being sentenced to death. During further investigation, they discovered that the servant came from a Moorish family with close ties to the London court.
Arthur, who had learned a lot about Moorish history, immediately got an idea. "Thomas, what do you know about the Moorish family that was in the palace back then?" he asked curiously.
"I'm not sure how detailed the story is, but they did reach the upper caste and had a good reputation at the time. However, the family's reputation faded after the scandal involving Henry VIII's Bloody recipe," Thomas replied.
"Well, we must find out more about the family and search the timeline of their genealogy to determine if there are any rulers in their lineage. Maybe only then can we end this Bloody Mary curse," Arthur asserted.
They drove to the local library and looked at the list of Moorish family members at that time. While scrutinizing each name, Stanley found the year and records of the family.
"You know Arthur, this family ended up being even more estranged from the palace after the Bloody Hendry VII scandal. They live outside the city, and information about them is becoming increasingly difficult to find," Stanley said as he recorded the newly acquired information.
Arthur looked at the screen of the family list provided by Stanley and said, "At least we have a starting point. We should go to their village to look for further evidence of the family and their possible descendants who became rulers."
Their work took them to a village on the edge of exile in London. But when they arrived, they found a new challenge. The villagers don't want to talk about it-they know their talk leads to the Moors and Bloody Mary.
"Gentlemen, we need to find another way to explore this mystery," Thomas said.
"But how are we supposed to uncover their history if no one wants to talk about it?" asked Stanley exasperatedly.
Arthur thought for a moment, then said, "We should look for evidence of the Moorish family in more well-preserved remains. Perhaps there are genealogical records or historical places we can go to find out more."
So, they decided to visit the old church on the edge of the village, hoping to find some historical evidence of the Moorish family. The church had stood for more than a hundred years and was known to be a burial place for nobles and prominent families.
Upon arriving at the church, they saw the worn, moss-covered landscape of the burial ground. They started looking for signs on the headstones that could lead them to the Moorish family.
After searching for some time, Arthur found one headstone that looked different from the others. "Stanley, Thomas! Look at this!" Arthur exclaimed.
They walked over to Arthur who crouched down to look at the tombstone closely. The tombstone had a carved decoration that looked more elaborate than the others. It was inscribed on the stone:
"Close the forbidden recipe, close the dark secret, revive the lost soul."
Stanley, who read the words at the same time as Arthur, said, "This must have something to do with the Moorish family and the Bloody Mary recipe!"
"Yes, but how can we bring a lost soul back to life?" muttered Arthur.
They began to investigate more about the church and found a cave hidden behind an old tree on the outskirts of the church. They entered the cave and found an old cupboard placed on the side of the cave wall that was covered in spiders and dust.
"This cupboard must hold something important!" said Stanley confidently. They tried to open the cupboard's weathered door, while the spiders flapped their wings and lit up the sky.
Inside the cupboard, they found several neatly stored human skulls. The three were amazed at this gruesome discovery.
"Have we reached the end of our journey?" asked Arthur hesitantly. "Is this some sort of pagan altar that the Moors are supposed to be guarding?"
As they thought about their situation, a whispered voice came from the side of the cave, "You have defeated it, the descendants of the Moorish family now rule."
They retreated and realized that the tombstone they had found was the key to reviving Bloody Mary. But they also realized that the person who possessed the power of the curse, the descendant of the Moorish family, was now in charge.
"We need to find them, but how do we find out who exactly is the Moorish descendant who now holds the power?" asked Stanley.
Thomas guessed, "Perhaps one of the nobles or politicians in London is their descendant. However, we need to obtain a lot of evidence before we can reveal their identity."
They decided to return to the library and seek more information about the Moorish descendants while exploring the history of politics and nobility in London that might be related.
After some research and information gathering, Arthur finally found a name that boosted their confidence. According to the genealogical records in the Moorish family history book found in the library, Lady Sophie Henderson, a prominent politician and member of parliament, was a direct descendant of the Moorish family.
"Are we sure it's her?" Stanley asked Arthur and Thomas.
"All signs point to her," Arthur said. "The Moors have a track record of political history, and Lady Henderson must have considerable influence in the current government. We should meet Lady Henderson and present our findings to her. She may be our last hope to end Bloody Mary's curse."
They arranged a meeting with Lady Sophie Henderson, who surprisingly took the meeting request well. When the day came to meet her at her London residence, the three struggled with nerves.
"Brothers, we have come a long way," said Thomas, trying to encourage them. "We have revealed the secrets that have been hidden and now it is time for us to end this story."
Standing before Lady Henderson, Arthur clutched tightly to the documents and evidence they had collected throughout their journey. Stanley spoke boldly, "Lady Henderson, we believe that you are a direct descendant of the Moorish family and that the story and curse of Bloody Mary has something to do with you."
Lady Henderson smiled sarcastically and gave them a sharp look. "You have analyzed history well, gentlemen. True, I am of Moorish blood. However, did you come here just to talk about my family history or do you have another purpose?"
Arthur, rising with courage, explained, "Lady Henderson, we came here to end the Bloody Mary curse that has spread and troubled many people. We believe that a descendant of the Moorish family can stop this curse, and that is you."
Lady Henderson seemed surprised by the confession, then said, "The Bloody Mery curse is a legend that has been circulating for a long time. Throughout my life, my family has always tried to put the legend aside, hoping to create a good name in the new era. But, are you sure that this curse is real?"
Thomas said, "We have collected various evidence and witnesses during our investigation. This curse is not just a legend but a real calamity that continues to terrorize innocent people. It is time for you to use your influence as a Moorish descendant and stop evading the curse."
They showed Lady Henderson the evidence they had gathered, including the original resp of Bloody Mary and the timeline of the Moorish family history. After a few moments in reverie, Lady Henderson finally got the resolve in her.
"Very well, gentlemen," she said, "I will help you end this curse, but you must be willing to keep all this information confidential. This scandal could destroy the reputation and influence of the remaining Moorish families."
They stare at each other, then agree to work together to end the Bloody Mary curse. Arthur, Stanley, and Thomas teamed up with Lady Henderson to delve deeper into the original recipe and discover the curse. Months later they found a method by performing a ritual to break the Bloody Mery curse. After performing the ritual, London became safe and peaceful with no rumors of the Bloody Mary curse.
