I returned back at my apartment and packed up my things. I took my phone out and noticed that there were a lot of miss calls from numbers that aren't registered in my phone. I answered one of them and I was shocked when I heard Touka's screaming voice.

"You lazy brat!!!! Where were you all along?" she asked me. "Kaneki's all worried about you."

"Huh? Why would he?" I asked.

"I don't know. I guess he's only feeling like that due to it that both of your kagune were once owned by ghoul sisters who were separated," she said to me.

I took my phone at my left and replied to her, "I'm leaving my old apartment. Can I stay in Anteiku? I know some employees stay in other places than live there."

"It's better that you know about us than to stay here. Just don't blurt out anything about us to your CCG buddies," she told me.

"I'm packing," I informed her.

"We're still investigating your case. Just go and be with your uncle for now," she answered me. "I'll tell Kaneki you're fine."

"Thank you, Touka-chan," I smiled and unpacked my things. I laid down my things on my table until I heard someone scream. I quickly went out to find where the sound came from. The sound came from my feeding ground.

Tsk... someone dare feed in my feeding grounds that my uncle gave me?

I quickly left my apartment and went out with my kagune open after I arrived there.

My right eye is also definitely used to the change and most of the time, I take off my glasses as I can see clearer when I use my ghoul eye. When I finally arrived at the place where the sound came from, I saw a ghoul with a wing-type kagune. His wings are electric blue in color and he had just bitten the shoulder of his victim. His victim is still alive.

"Arima Kousei!!!" he called me. Both of his eyes were strikingly black and red. He seemed to have sensed me.

"You dare feed here?" I asked him after I close my kagune.

When my eyes laid on his victim, I was shocked that he is holding Watari. I became angrier at him and in that realization, I set myself loose and attacked him using just my right hand. I held his face strongly. I didn't give him a time to dodge my attack. I threw him hard and he landed on the metal bars vigorously that were lying on the floor. His blood slowly trickled down on his forehead.

I grabbed Watari away from him. He seemed bewildered and confused.

"K-Kousei?"

"Stay away and run," I instructed him.

"No. I'll stay," he told me.

"If you wish so. This will be your first time to see me fight. Don't get in the way," I said to him as I let my six tails grow out of my back. I could see that he seemed astonished by what he's seeing right now. It only have been six months since I was changed to a ghoul but the change inside me is so massive. My strength and training with my uncle gives me a lot of benefit to protect my friends.

I looked back to my opponent and it seems he still have the strength to fight. I've seen him stand up again. 

"You'll regret stealing my food!" he shouted.

"Watari's not food, useless ghoul," I said to him as I release my center tails massively long to attack him. I missed him and it only landed on the ground which I felt really irritated with. I have to be stronger than this. I don't want to feel scared once again when I face stronger ghouls than me. 

I will protect them!!!

He only kept dodging all of my attacks. He seemed to only be playing with my six tails as if they were Chinese Garters. Then, in my shock, he bit one of them which gave me a huge shock that made me kneel down as one of my tails bleed. I have just left the hospital and I can't move that much yet but if I leave or give up, he would eat me and Watari. 

"You're weaker than I expected," he told me as he got closer to me. I wasn't able to dodge his attack. I felt him punch my stomach which gave me huge disadvantage as blood trickle down my throat. My six tails return behind me. 

I let him keep punching me so that I could also brainstorm how I could stop him. I can't be defeated here. My uncle did free me and made me live as I am for me to know how to live as a ghoul. I opened my eyes when I am done thinking. I grabbed his neck. That way, I was able to pin him on one of the large walls of the narrow path that leads to my apartment. The wall definitely had a huge crack on it.

The buildings seemed to touch each other and could only be passed through by a few people, actually hides the short cut to my apartment which seemed to be hidden by commercial buildings in the 20th Ward.

Thinking back, I wonder who set me up there? The short cut to my apartment that leads to where I live here in Tokyo does have a lot of ghouls walking to and fro.

He said that his name is Akio. He's taller and larger than me but I don't care. I almost died fighting my uncle who's stronger and faster than him. 

"Is this just how strong you really are, one-eyed?" he asked me as he punch me at the same time which made me lose my hold on him.

"You haven't seen my whole power yet, useless!" I screamed. I made my six tails larger. I'm getting angrier at him as he kept on insulting me.

"You're just a living quinque!" he shouted at me. 

"I don't care!" I shouted back.

My right hand went into a fist. I punched and kicked him on his torso repeatedly which definitely shocked him. I put all of my strength into that and he landed miles away from us. In a moment, he suddenly disappeared and I sensed that he opened his electric blue wing kagune again. He was about to go near Watari when I finally was able to pierce his skin using my right-center tail. I wasn't actually looking behind me. I just closed my eyes and sensed his movement. 

My uncle is right. I shouldn't always trust my eyes. I have to use all of my other senses to put down my enemies. It wasn't always about strength and power. The wiser wins. 

I took him in front of me. Now, he seemed to be the one afraid to die. My right-center tail is still on his bleeding chest and before he die, I sat near him. "You know what happens to ghouls I kill, right? It seems to me, I'm infamous in the underground world," I whispered to him.

His eyes widen. I'm known in the underground world as a Ghoul Eater. More on, a cannibal.

My mutation stopped. That's what Dr. Kanou told me. They could have forcefully stopped my mutation into a kakuja or I could have been a kakuja already. 

"Please... please... Have mercy on me!!!" he screamed. I used my left, red tail and pierced his right leg with it. Blood covered him, of course. His shouts actually is normal to me already and I've become a bit sadistic. I do believe, as Watari watch the new me, he should have been running now. I am not the pianist he once knew.

I looked behind me as my tails keep on piercing Watari's supposed killer. 

Watari's still there. I wonder why he actually stayed?

I thought about what Akira told me. She told me to stop eating ghouls. 

Cannibalizing had always been the way I eat this past six months. I couldn't stop it. I haven't eaten for two months since I wasn't that much used by uncle already.

Most of all, using me is only exclusive to my uncle already.

"Be lucky, I won't eat you whole," I told him as I pierce his chest more. 

He screamed as loud as he wanted until his last breath left him. Using the tails above my shoulders, I gave him my last blow. I destroyed his skull. I took off his kagune and arms using my bare hands. 

"Forgive me. Can you leave now? I don't want you to see me feed," I told Watari. He stood shakily near me. I can understand that. He saw the monster that lurks inside me.  

"You're afraid of me. Get out from here," I said to him.

"I'm not afraid of you," he told me which made me laugh. 

I stood up and faced him. "Your legs are shaking. Don't lie to me."

"It's true! I'm not afraid of you!" he repeated himself. I looked at his eyes and I returned my kagune inside my back but my ghoul eye remained.

"Why are you here, anyway?" I asked him. 

"I... I just want to say that I miss you. You're my best friend. Seeing you fight made me all worried for you," he told me. 

"There's no sense if you'll be worried for me. I can take care of myself," I replied to him.

"Kousei, I want to stay as your friend even you are already a ghoul."

His words surprised me that tears fall on my eyes. "You accept me?"

"Yes. I'll stay with you, Kousei," he told me.

I just smiled at him. "Thank you."
