"Where am I?" I asked myself after I opened my eyes. I know that I'm not at my apartment and I'm lying on a bed somewhere else. From a distance, I smelled that there's coffee being brewed. Now, I remember... I went at Anteiku with Ken Kaneki. 

I sighed...

When I remembered yesterday, I wonder why I felt more accepted here than with other CCG officers? I know that Akira doesn't see me as a dangerous ghoul but whenever I go back at the main office with my uncle, the people there were leering at me as if I am no one.

They also just look at me as nothing but a weapon but with them, I felt acceptance and I felt whole again...

"Finally you woke up," someone said to me. I looked up and saw him. 

Kaneki smiled at me warmly. "Manager wanted to see us before you go."

I nodded. I followed him at the next room and that's when I noticed that he had an album at the table. Both of us looked at it. It wasn't just me who was shocked by what we learned when we saw the pictures inside the album. Kaneki was also shocked. 

"Rize does have a sister?" he asked him. 

"Yes. He does have a twin sister," he told us. "Her name is Miki. She was taken by the Queen of Ghouls in China. Apparently, their mother was killed by a CCG officer and they don't have a father either anymore. She only took Miki in China and she had been her strength to win the battle in her country. The war between the two kinds was won by the Chinese Ghoul Royalty and with it, Miki lived as a princess of ghouls where ghouls are more prevalent than humans. Cannibalization is inevitable in China. Due to that, she went here to thrive and eat humans. Unluckily, she was killed without knowing that she's targeting a human relative of Arima Kishou."

I held my chest. I didn't know that she does have family. I wonder what her foster mother felt after she learn that her child is dead, now. Is it really true that they're sisters? 

Looking at the pictures, they seemed to have known each other. 

"Miki was able to locate her sister here and they seemed to have lived a happy life but she became furious when her sister died," he informed us. With this information, I don't know what to feel. What does this got to do with me?

"Kaneki, it may seem unclear to you but now that you know the reason why you felt strange yesterday and brought him here is because you sensed that he is in danger. You do have Rize's organs while Kousei does have Miki's organs and kagune," he told him. 

His words surprised me. We're not entirely blood related but still, we're like brothers due to it that blood-related ghouls were fused in our bodies. Both of us are artificial one-eyed ghouls.

"Professor Kanou, was he also the one who operated on you, Kousei?" he asked me. 

"I practically don't know, sir," I answered. 

"Treat yourself as brothers," he told us. 

"That's fine with me. I never had a brother in my life. I don't know about him," he said as he look at me. I don't know what to feel. Will I be happy or not?

...

I went back quickly at my apartment after I said goodbye to the people working in Anteiku. I was absolutely surprised when Seto Hiroko suddenly hugged me while she's crying so hard. "Kousei! Kousei!!! Akira called me! She said that both of you were attacked by a ghoul last night! I was so afraid, Kousei!!! Where were you all this time? Why did you not go to school today?"

I hugged her at the same time and tears just fall on my eyes. "I'm sorry for worrying you, Seto-san," I told her. 

While we were talking, my uncle appeared behind me. "Forgive me for interrupting your reunion but looking through Akira's report today, I guess I have to train you more."

I looked at him happily. I want to be strong. I want to be able to protect everyone who's close to me. 

"Where are you taking him?" she asked him. 

"He's now my responsibility, not yours, Hiroko," he said to her. 

"No. You're not taking him anywhere!!!" she shouted as she hold my left hand. 

"Seto-san, I'm fine. You can leave me with him," I promised her. 

"But," she hesitated but I pushed her to leave. 

"You have to leave," I answered. 

She hugged me again before she left. "Okay."

...

"Uncle, I have questions that is troubling me," I said as I follow him where his car is parked. "Why did you really make me a ghoul?"

"I was forced to give you to Professor Kanou and use you as his second experiment to save you from death. His first is a prototype and you are his main product. He took all of the Princess's organs and gave them to you. He wanted you to be the CCG's strongest weapon but I won't allow you to be their weapon. Instead, you will be a double edged sword that will strike them and change this world," he told me.

"You changed my path completely," I clenched my fists.

"Are you disappointed and mad at me, Kousei?" he asked me. 

"No. I'm not. I guess, I'm thankful but what's the queen's reaction?" I asked. 

"She does not care. She has so many children to think about and to choose who would be her heir," he answered me. "Most of all, they don't associate with the outside world anymore."

I guess I'm glad the queen won't endanger me but I felt pity to the girl. I know it's surprising to pity the girl who tried to kill me. Actually, I suppose what she did is worse than killing me. It feels more like he entered my body and changed me.

I stared at my uncle. That day when she attacked me, my world became darker but that was when I was saved by the man who stands before me.

I can't betray him... 

I can betray the CCG but not him...

He seemed not so loyal to CCG, too.

He stood more as a father figure to me than my biological father. 

"Ah, uncle?" I scratched my chin a bit. "Can I work part time somewhere?"

"Part time? Where?" he asked me. 

"In some coffee shop near here," I answered. He smiled at me as we enter the car. 

When I looked up, I noticed that it's slowly beginning to rain so I quickly went inside the car. 

"You can go anywhere you want, Kousei," he answered me. "Also, you still need to keep up in your college."

"Ah! Yes!" I answered him. "Thank you, uncle."
