I then saw that Team Plasma's ship was right on the sea. Hugh found his way to me and smirked.

Hugh:"You found them! I knew you could do it!"

He then walked a bit closer to the ship.

Hugh:"But... How do we get in?"

?:"Hold up!"

A heavy gangplank fell with a solid thud... We gasped as Marlon walked down the gangplank.

Marlon:"Eh, this should do it!"

Hugh:"I thought you weren't going to fight Team Plasma?"

Marlon:"Hey, friends! Team Plasma's not botherin' me. They could be up to no good for reals, and... It's not my style to go around decidin' Team Plasma's bad without thinkin' 'bout it just 'cause everyone says so! But, eh, you're havin' trouble, so I've got to help out! That's what I want to do!"

Hugh:"Thanks..."

Marlon:"Listen, 'K. Believe in somethin'! Searchin' for stolen Pokemon is fine! Keepin' Unova from bein' iced over's fine too! It's all good. But think 'bout why you're doin' that. The strength of your beliefs is what gives you and your Pokemon power! I made some noise, so some people came out! Hey, be careful, 'K!"

And after that little speech, he walked into the cave.

Hugh:"What was that?! The guy sure doesn't follow through! Well, I guess he was being kind in his own way... Alright, I'm going in!"

"I'm right behind ya, pal!"

We ran up the plank and onto the ship where we were stopped by two grunts. They went down easily as the one I beat freaked out.

Grunt:"Oh no! The hatch is still open!"

They both ran away from us.

Hugh:"OK! This time we'll check out the ship! When we were in Driftveil City, Zinzolin came from this direction!"

He went the other way the grunts went.

"Aye, bro, hold up!"

I ran after him as we entered a room where we teamed up against some grunts.

Grunt:"Ugh! We have to tell the others.

Grunt:"Oh no! At this rate, they'll get through our barriers!"

They ran away as Hugh balled his fists.

Hugh:"They didn't have Purrloin with them!"

"Easy there, pal. We'll find your sister's Purrloin. But... Barriers, huh."

Hugh:"There's a device where you enter a password here... That means... We either have to find the password, or get it out of Team Plasma, to deactivate the barriers. (Y/n)! Let's split up and find that password!"

"Right!"

We ran out and went to the hatch where we met an Ex-Plasma member who was spying on the active members. Hugh asked if he found a Purrloin but the ex-grunt didn't have any information on it so he ran off. I went around and fought grunts and asked if they knew the password. One told me the password began with the letter Z. Another just told me her favorite type of Pokemon was Dragon type.

I entered another room where an alarm went off.

Warning! Warning! Intruders in the vessel! Everyone, please respond.

"Shit! I need that password!"

In that same room, a grunt showed me photos of the Legendary Dragons.

I then fought a grunt who gave me a Plasma Card so I could enter the password I don't have. I kept going around and finally got the clue I needed.

Grunt:"Fine. The hint is... it's a legendary Pokemon in the Unova region."

My eyes widened as I instantly thought of Zekrom and quickly ran to the barrier. I swiped down the card as it showed me a touchscreen keyboard. I typed in the password: ZEKROM

This deactivated the barriers and there was a single warp panel past them. I stepped on it and appeared in an entirely different room where Zinzolin was standing with his back turned to me.

Zinzolin:"You're an impressive trainer to have made it this far. Since you went to such trouble to come here, I'll show you something. This is..."

He stepped to the side as I peered down and saw a strange Pokemon in a cage.

Zinzolin:"The legendary Pokemon of ice! Its name is Kyurem!"

Zinzolin:"The ice misses we fired into Opelucid City were created with Kyurem's power and Team Plasma's technology!"

"No way..."

Zinzolin:"Well... You could become a threat to Team Plasma, so we will eliminate you here!"

I got ready to send out Anubis when Hugh appeared and ran to my side.

Hugh:"Not with me around, you won't! Thanks for removing the barrier! That was a big help!"

"I have to thank the pathetic Plasma grunts."

He just smiled as we bumped fists.

Zinzolin:"Hmph! We'll simply eliminate both of you!"

He and a grunt stood across from us as we sent out our Pokemon. I sent out Anubis and Hugh sent out Serperior.

Hugh:"Use Leaf Blade on Cryogonal!"

"Anubis! Aura Sphere on Liepard!"

Serperior's tail glowed green as it launched itself at Cryogonal and smacked it. It brought it down with one hit as Anubis shot an Aura Sphere to bring down Liepard. Zinzolin sent his other Cryogonal next and the grunt sent out a Watchog.

Both:"Use it again!"

Anubis and Serperior used the same moves as before and brought down the Pokemon with ease. They sent out their last Pokemon and it was a Weavile and a Scolipede.

Zinzolin:"Ice Shard on Serperior!"

Weavile shot a bunch of ice at Hugh's Serperior and dealt major damage to it.

Hugh:"Damnit! Use Coil!"

Serperior coiled its body and raised its attack, defense, and accuracy.

"Aura Sphere on the Weavile!"

Anubis: Take this!

He ended it with one hit as Zinzolin grit his teeth.

Grunt:"Steamroller on Lucario!"

The Scolipede rolled into a ball and rammed into Anubis who stood there unfazed by the attack. Hugh then used a Hyper Potion on Serperior.

"Shadow Claw!"

His paw glowed dark purple as he ran up to the Scolipede and cut it across the face. It used Steamroller on Serperior before Anubis finished it off with another Shadow Claw.

Hugh:"I'm not going to lose to Team Plasma! By the way, what is this place?"

He then noticed Kyurem.

Hugh:"That Pokemon... It's so icy... Could that be the source of the attack on Opelucid City?"

"Unfortunately, it is."

Zinzolin:"Correct. You're smarter than you look. If you've got that much sense, why did you do something as dangerous as sneaking into our base?"

Hugh:"That should be obvious! I'll do whatever it takes to get my sister's Pokemon back! Are YOU the one who stole a Purrloin all those years ago?!"

Zinzolin:"If it's just a Purrloin, someone probably stole it and is using it. Why can't you understand? There are other Purrloin. Why are you so fixated on this one?"

Hugh:"That's the ONLY Purrloin in the world that my late grandpa caught for my little sister!"

Zinzolin:"And individual's feelings... To you, that's probably a matter of great importance. But from the perspective of other people, it is a trifling matter indeed. Compare those feelings against the majesty of this ship! This ship itself is a device that uses the Pokemon Kyurem's power! With this ship, this time we will conquer Unova! It looks like Kyurem has fully recovered. We'll put the DNA Splicers to good use. I'll let you take care of them, Shadow Triad!"

Hugh:"Don't mess with me! You were the one who lost!"

It was too late as we were taken back to shore as the Plasma Frigate took off into the air and flew off into the distance.

Hugh:"Team Plasma! No matter where you fly, I won't let you get away! But, what's over there anyway?"

"Beats me."

We then heard footsteps and turned around to see Cheren.

Cheren:"Sorry I'm late... I suspect they're flying toward the Giant Chasm."

Hugh:"The Giant Chasm! That's deep in Route 22, right? OK! I'm going! (Y/n)! You come too!"

"That's the plan, macho man."

Hugh:"That Pokemon... Kyurem, was it? Its cry sounded lonely somehow."

He ran into the Seaside Cave.

Cheren:"Kyurem! Team Plasma is using Kyurem's power for evil?!"

"Yeah. It's what froze Opelucid City."

Cheren:"Damnit! Then how should we stop Team Plasma? If Kyurem is, like Drayden said, a legendary Dragon type Pokemon, the only ones who could stand up to it are Reshiram or Zekrom! But... Neither of them is here right now... Where are the ones the legendary Pokemon recognized as heroes, anyway?"

"Cheren, we don't need a legendary Dragon! I fought against an Entei remember?!"

Cheren:"(Y/n), this is different! An entire region is at stake! We can't afford to gamble our lives to try and bring down a Pokemon like Kyurem! Look, I'm going to just have to find one of the heroes."

"Fine! I'll go ahead and go to the Giant Chasm!"

I flew to Humilau City and ran through Route 22 and went inside the Giant Chasm. There were some grunts blocking the way as Hugh caught up with me. The ex-grunt spy told them they could leave which gave us the chance to move forward.

We exited the chasm where we saw Rood talking to the active Plasma members. He was trying to tell them that Ghetsis wants to rule the Unova and that the liberation of Pokemon was an excuse. They didn't listen which made Hugh sigh.

Hugh:"HEY!"

They all turned around to look at him.

Hugh:"Let me through!"

Grunt:"What are you saying? Looking to get hurt?"

Hugh:"I'm going to get a stolen Pokemon back! I'm not gonna listen to villains like you! Rood! Ex-Team Plasma! Why do you have Pokemon by your sides? To protect what's important to you, right? Even if your Pokemon get hurt, even if your ideals are damaged, the time to fight is NOW!"

"Hugh..."

Grunt:"You're just a kid! Quit trying to act so cool!"

Grunt:"Whatever! Nobody's getting close to the Plasma Frigate! Wipe them ALL out!"

"You punks never learn huh? We may be kids but us kids took down plenty of you lowly grunts! A few more to add to the list won't hurt!"

After we beat them, backup arrived but Rood and the ex-grunts decided to rise up and fight them. Rood then told Hugh that the Purrloin might be in the Shadow Triad's possession. We then ran to the ship.

Hugh took out several grunts and I kept running.

"Hugh! If I find Purrloin or the Shadow Triad, I'll let you know!"

Hugh:"Right!"

"Let's show these bastards what a couple of kids can do!"

I went inside a different room and took a warp panel to reach a place with pipes. The ex-grunt spy told me that some of the warp panels near the pipes lead to switches that would deactivate the barriers. I ran around for several minutes until I finally deactivated them all.

I went through and saw Kyurem up close in his cage.

Zinzolin:"The device is indestructible! You will never be able to release Kyurem!"

Zinzolin made his way to me and carried a smug look on his face.

Zinzolin:"You don't have the sense to know when to quit, it seems. It's an act of mercy on my part to bring this to an end now!"

"You've never beaten me and you never will! Anubis!"

Anubis tore through his team using only Close Combat as Zinzolin backed away.

Zinzolin:"Beaten again!"

"I told you! You will never beat me! I am (Y/n) and I will stop Team Plasma once and for all!"

Zinzolin:"Just try it! You can't even free Kyurem!"

I ran ahead and saw two paths. I went to right and found a warp panel. I took it and was transported to the cockpit of the Plasma Frigate. Who I saw there surprised me.

Colress:"Welcome aboard! I was asked by an acquaintance to help with his research. What I desire is to bring out the entirety of Pokemon potential! If I can accomplish that, I don't care what it takes! If it means this strength must be brought out by the interactions between Pokemon and trainers, then so be it! If it means you have to use a merciless approach, like Team Plasma's, and force out all of the Pokemon's power, then so be it! And yes, if the entire world is destroyed as a result, then so be it..."

"You fucking mad scientist!"

Colress:"That's quite offensive. That aside... The reason I have been traveling all over Unova and battling many Pokemon trainers is because I was testing the viability of this approach to bringing out the full strength of Pokemon. In that respect, you've done an amazing job. Well now! Tell me if you have the answer I desire or not! If you're ready, come at me!"

"Oh you're literally asking for it now!"

I hopped over a desk and we began our battle.

He sent out a Magneton as I sent out Anubis.

"Aura Sphere!"

He shot an Aura Sphere but it hung on with one HP due to it having Sturdy.

Colress:"Thunder Wave."

Magneton released a wave of electricity that paralyzed Anubis. Colress used a Full Restore as I used a Paralyze Heal on Anubis.

"Aura Sphere!"

Magneton used Thunder Wave again to paralyze Anubis. I used another Paralyze Heal as it used Volt Switch to tag out and bring in Magnezone.

"Aura Sphere!"

He shot his attack but Magnezone had Sturdy and used Thunder Wave. I was starting to get annoyed and healed Anubis before it used Discharge to paralyze him again. I used a Full Restore as Colress smiled.

Colress:"Discharge."

It attacked once again which gave me the opportunity to bring it down with another Aura Sphere. He sent out a Klingklang next.

"Close Combat!"

Anubis jumped at it and beat it senseless and knocked it out. He sent out a Beheeyem so I switched out to Toph.

"Use Crunch!"

Toph roared and bit down hard on the Pokemon's big ugly head.

Colress:"Calm Mind!"

The move was pointless as Toph finished it off with another Crunch.

"Heh, what's next?"

Colress:"Go. Metang."

He sent out a Metang and I just gawked at it.

"Take this! Earth Power!"

Toph roared as the ground erupted beneath Metang and knocked it out in one hit. He then sent out the Magneton he used first as I switched Anubis back in and finished it off for payback.

Colress:"So Aaron! You're a very strong trainer indeed! So let me ask you this! Are you thinking of reaching even higher heights by understanding each other as Pokemon and trainer?"

"Yeah, I am. I want to be the champion and be someone everyone can idolize. I wanna stand alongside the greats!"

Colress:"I see... To me, that is an ideal answer. To think! That's what you actually believe!

"Bitch, what are you trying to say?"

Colress:"You bring out the power of your Pokemon with respect and love! Excuse me for repeating myself, but if it will make Pokemon stronger, I don't care what it takes! If interacting with Pokemon can increase their powers only to a certain point, then their full strength must be brought out using a scientific approach. Even one without a conscience. But you have shown me the potential of your approach. To me, whether Team Plasma wins or whether you win will decide how the relationship between people and Pokemon should be!"

He then stroked his chin.

Colress:"So where will this be settled? Step on the warp panel on the side of the room where Kyurem is being held. Good luck in your battle!"

I left the room and healed up my team before making my way to the other panel. The grunt guarding it got scared and ran away before I stepped onto the panel. I was transported to a room with TV'S where it showed all the different rooms but I wasn't the only one there.

?:"That blasted Colress!"

The person turned around and slammed their cane into the ground.

?:"The fool is far too committed to pure science. This is how he repays me for making him the boss of Team Plasma? How dare he put his personal intellectual curiosity before our ultimate mission of conquering Unova! How fortunate for you! Few get to be the sole audience member for one of my speeches."

"Wow, I feel special."

?:"Hush! Team Plasma will use its knowledge and technology to take Kyurem's true power to its absolute limit and freeze the Unova region. The terrified people and Pokemon will bow at Team Plasma's...no...at MY feet!"

He walked away from the desk and slammed his cane again.

?:"Kyurem is an empty being. The remnants of a certain Pokemon when it split into Reshiram and Zekrom... My desire is absolute rule of Unova! That's right! Kyurem will be the vessel into which my desires will he poured!"

Suddenly one of the Shadow Triad members appeared.

S. Triad:"Lord Ghetsis. Kyurem has been transferred!"

Ghetsis:"It's finally here! The wonderful Era in which I am the absolute ruler of Unova has finally arrived! I'll let you take care of this!"

He walked off as Hugh suddenly appeared in the room with us.

Hugh:"Wait... You're one of the Shadow Triad, right? Tell me about the Purrloin that was stolen in Aspertia."

S. Triad:"Very well... This might be it."

He tossed a Pokeball and out came a Liepard.

S. Triad:"I stole this Pokemon several years ago in Aspertia. So it seems likely that is the Pokemon you're talking about. But now, it only listens to my commands. Such is the gate of Pokemon that are trapped in Pokemon in Poke Balls!"

"No..."

Hugh:"Wh-what? Don't mess with me... That's someone else's Pokemon!"

S. Triad:"Ah... I feel sorry for Pokemon. They're ruled by Poke Balls and the whoms of their trainers... Lord Ghetsis spoke of Pokemon liberation two years ago simply for his own ambitions, but... If his plans had succeeded, many Pokemon would have been saved. This Liepard, well, you knew it as a Purrloin, if it had been released, it might have returned to you. Well then..."

He turned to me.

S. Triad:"You there! I won't let you interfere with Lord Ghetsis's plans!"

"Grr... Don't toy with my friend!"

I sent out Anubis as he took down his Dark type Pokemon with ease. After I beat him, the other two appeared. I took care of them as well. They just laughed as they let Hugh have Liepard. They then disappeared.

Hugh fell to his knees and tears fell from his eyes.

"Hugh..."

Hugh:"(Y/n)... I can't... You have to stop Team Plasma or more Pokemon like Purrloin and Kyurem will be sad."

I didn't say anything but walked out the ship to chase after Ghetsis. I ran outside the ship and slid along the icy ground to reach a staircase that lead into a cave. I ran deeper in it to see Ghetsis standing there alone.

Ghetsis:"The Giant Chasm! This is the spot where Kyurem's power resonates. Here, Kyurem can use the full extent of its power and easily cover all of Unova in ice!"

"Oh shit..."

He walked to the side and slammed his cane into the ground.

Ghetsis:"Kyurem, come!"

A small blizzard kicked up as Kyurem suddenly appeared.

Ghetsis:"I have a memory that has continued to haunt me. Just one. That unpleasant look in your eyes reminds me of it. That aside, this is my gift to you to show my respect for making it this far."

Ghetsis:"Rightfully so! I'll freeze you solid right here so you can watch my glorious ascent! And since Kyurem's ice can't be destroyed there's nothing for you to do!"

My entire world crumbled as I was completely in over my head and I was facing an inescapable fate.

Ghetsis:"Kyurem! Glaciate!"

Kyurem roared as the entire cavern began to become cold as large chunks of ice swirled all around me.

Goodbye everyone...

The chunks then closed in on me.

?:"Reshiram! Fusion Flare!"

I heard an unknown voice as a sphere of fire crashed into the ice and shattered them.

Ghetsis:"So you came..."

"Huh...?"

Ghetsis:"The freak without a human heart... N!"

I then watched as Reshiram descended before me with a girl with long green hair riding it.

N:"Reshiram told me Kyurem is suffering! I can't allow selfish humans to make Pokemon suffer! And I like Unova. It's the place that taught me how to live as a human... It's the place that made me notice the harmony between Pokemon and humans living together... I will protect the Pokemon and humans who live here!"

Reshiram then roared at Kyurem.

Ghetsis:"Excellent! That was a moving expression of your determination! So the education I provided to make you queen wasn't a complete waste, then! But I still haven't forgotten that even though I was kind enough to find you when you were living in the forest with Pokemon, and take you in, and care for you, in the end you were selfish and disrupted my plans."

"Oh! So you're pinning the blame on her?! You think that just because you put her somewhere else and manipulated her, you have the right to be the victim?! You literally almost killed me!"

Ghetsis:"Shut up boy! I was supposed to use her abilities to rule Unova!"

"You're just proving my point even more."

Ghetsis:"I said shut up!"

He huffed and looked at N.

Ghetsis:"But I'll forgive you for that as well. Reshiram, which you were kind enough to bring with you, can melt ice! Now you've saved me the work of searching for it! Well, actually, I knew you'd appear if we fired ice missiles into Opelucid City and you noticed the change!"

N:"That's an ugly formula! It won't work!"

Ghetsis:"Oh, but it will! If I use these! The DNA Splicers!"

He tossed something in the air that was then absorbed by Kyurem who then glared at Reshiram.

Reshiram turned into a strange ball and I gasped.

N:"?! R-Reshiram!!"

Ghetsis:"Kyurem! Absorb Reshiram! Use Absofusion!"

Kyurem then did as Ghetsis said and transformed into something new.

N:"...! I never would have believed that Pokemon could fuse together... That there was a formula like this..."

Ghetsis:"You fool... Last time, I was going to use you to capture people's hearts and minds to rule them! But this time, I'm simply going to use overwhelming power and rule with an iron fist! Do you understand? If you had simply become queen, Unova would have remained beautiful! Come now, trainer. This time no one will save you! But to make things interesting, I'll give you a chance. Let's see if you can stop THIS Kyurem!"

"You...asshole..."

Suddenly, I felt all of my Poke Balls shaking and trembling.

Ghetsis:"Hm? Could your Pokemon be shaking with rage? No! That's not possible! Simple tools don't have emotion or thought! Come! Challenge Kyurem!"

"You're the one with no emotion or thought! You've made a big mistake letting me fight Kyurem! Go! Toph!"

I threw out Toph's Poke Ball as she roared as loudly as she could. She then glared at Ghetsis before facing Kyurem.

"Dragon Claw!"

She flew with great speed and scratched Kyurem across its chest with as much power as she could and I heard N gasp.

N:"That was a critical hit!"

With one major blow, Kyurem and Reshiram were separated! Kyurem then disappeared elsewhere while Reshiram flew back to N's side.

Ghetsis:"I can't believe it! The White Kyurem I went to all the trouble of preparing! How irritating! Now I have to go recapture Kyurem, don't I? But first, I'll take down this disgusting trainer with my own hand! This time I WILL succeed! No matter what they try, no one will be able to stop me!"

"Go ahead and give it all you've got! I'm the only thing standing between you and complete control of the Unova region! My Pokemon and I will fight together to stop you here and now!"

N: This boy...

He sent out a Cofragrigus first and I sent out Toph.

"Use Crunch!"

Toph bit down hard on it and managed to lower its defense!

Ghetsis:"Use Toxic!"

Cofragrigus managed to posion Toph and restore some of its health with Leftovers.

"Do it again!"

Cofragrigus used Protect to negate the attack as it healed while Toph took damage from the poison.

"One more time!"

Ghetsis:"Protect!"

It tried to create a barrier around itself but it failed as Toph reached Cofragrigus first and brought it down. He growled and I returned Toph to her ball.

"Good job, girl."

I put her ball back and grabbed Anubis as he sent out a Hydreigon.

N: He's using his ace already?

"Anubis! Close Combat!"

Anubis: Right away master!

Anubis launched himself at Hydreigon and began pummeling him with fierce attacks before ending it with a punch that sent it crashing into a wall. He sent out a Seismitoad next so I switched out to Ronin.

"Surf!"

Ronin roared and a giant wave of water lifted him up as it crashed into Seismitoad.

Ghetsis:"Use Earthquake!"

Seismitoad stomped on the ground and part of the ground broke apart and struck Ronin. He took the attack and shook it off like nothing.

"Surf again!"

He crashed another wave of water into it and knocked it out.

N: He's amazing!

Ghetsis was sweating and switched out Eelektross.

"Rubble! Tag in!"

I threw out Rubble as his intimidate ability lowered Eelektross's attack.

"Use Flare Blitz!"

Rubble barked as he coated himself in fire and rammed ruthlessly into Eelektross and dealt major damage. He also took a bit of damage himself.

Ghetsis:"Acrobatics!"

Eelektross dashed around before tackling Rubble who slid back a bit but shook off the attack.

"End it with a Flamethrower!"

Rubble blew fire straight into its face and made it faint. By now, Ghetsis only had two Pokemon left and was panting.

Ghetsis:"Drapion!"

"Toph!"

I sent her out again and could tell she was still in pain from the poison but held a strong and determined look on her face.

"Earth Power!"

She roared as the ground erupted beneath Drapion and took it out with ease. Ghetsis was freaking out as he was drenched in sweat and panting heavily and tossed out his last Pokemon, a Toxicroak.

"Well Ghetsis, it seems you've lost. But hey, that's to be expected when you're up against the future champion, (Y/n)! Toph, end it!"

She roared once more and used Earth Power to bring down Toxicroak. He then began to back away dumbfounded.

Ghetsis:"How can this be? I'm the creator of Team Plasma! I'm perfect! I'm the absolute ruler who will change the world! And I've lost to some unknown trainer not once, but TWICE?!"

I then grabbed some chips from my bag and uttered nothing.

He then paced around and grabbed his head.

Ghetsis:"I can't accept this! This isn't possible! I can't be bested by fools who can't even use Pokemon correctly!"

N:"It's hard to call you this, but... Father! Please understand. Pokemon are not tools. Pokemon and humans take each other to greater heights. They are our wonderful partners. Some humans understand this. Why can't you?"

Ghetsis:"SHUT THE HELL UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! Don't talk like a person, you freak! No real person could talk to Pokemon!"

As he began having a mental breakdown, a member of the Shadow Triad appeared.

S. Triad:"Lord Ghetsis has...lost control... We'll take it from here..."

N:"That's fine... Without Father, Team Plasma is..."

S. Triad:"Farewell..."

With that, they left as N walked over to me.

N:"On behalf of everyone..."

She then wrapped her arms around me and pulled me into a tight hug.

N:"Thank you."

I was shocked but let it happen.

N:"Kyurem is fine. Now, it has lost its power, but it will come here again."

Reshiram roared and walked over to us as N stepped to the side. Reshiram lowered its head as I rubbed its snout.

N:"Heh, seems Reshiram has taken a liking to you, (Y/n), was it?"

"Yeah. Sorry we didn't properly introduce ourselves."

N:"That's perfectly fine."

"Hey, can you really talk to Pokemon?"

She nodded.

N:"On that day two years ago, a certain trainer and Alder taught me something... By accepting different ideas, this world creates a chemical reaction...
