After recovering from the weird experience at the Strange House, I went to Reversal Mountain to catch up with Bianca.

Bianca:"Heeey! (Y/n)!"

"Hey Bianca, doing good?"

Bianca:"I am. Um, you know what? There's something I want to investigate here know Reversal Mountain. But the wild Pokemon here are really tough, and I'm having trouble with them! Could you come with me? Please?"

She pressed her fingers together and shuffled her feet. It really showed off her cute side and I smiled.

"Sure thing!"

She smiled happily.

Bianca:"Great! And don't worry! I'll take care of healing our Pokemon, okay?"

"Sounds like a deal to me!"

We walked around the mountain and had a few mandatory double battles which were a sweep with Ronin using Surf. We walked around some more and found an underground lair which was supposedly where a Heatran resided. We walked around some more and found the exit. I said bye to Bianca and walked out to a peaceful beachside town. It was called Undella Town.

I took in the wonderful sight and smell. The faint sounds of the water splashing against the sand could be heard. There were people on their decks having a relaxing time and some couples walking hand in hand in the sand. I went to heal at the Pokemon Center and bought some Ultra Balls.

I decided to walk around for a bit and talk to some of the residents. One said something that for some reason, brought up a faint memory.

Boy:"The Pokemon World Tournament... I wonder if Cynthia will participate, too."

"Did you say Cynthia?"

Boy:"Yeah. She's the Sinnoh Region champion."

"I see..."

When he said her name, an image of a blonde woman and a Garchomp appeared in my mind. I never heard of her but yet... I felt like I have. I decided to leave the town before I got a migraine. I went north when I heard the rapid sounds of footsteps. I turned around to see Hugh.

This should take my mind off of things.

Hugh:"(Y/n)! Let's see how well we've raised our Pokemon!"

"You're on."

He sent out his Unfeazant and I sent out Ronin. I took it out with one Surf. He sent out Serperior next so I sent out Rubble. Serperior was faster and used Coil to raise his attack, defense and accuracy. It didn't matter since Rubble took it out with a Flamethrower. His next Pokemon was Simisear which I used Toph to counter. One Earth Power was enough to finish the match.

Hugh:"I couldn't even draw out my team's real strength... How pathetic!"

We returned our Pokemon and he smirked.

Hugh:"Great! If we're this strong, Team Plasma will run screaming when they see us! Especially after trying to battle with you! You're in a whole 'nother league! I won't let 'em get away, though! Her Purrloin... I'll get it back for sure!"

"I believe in you, bud."

He smiled and we bumped fists before he went ahead without me. I walked through the tunnel and made it to Route 13. I battled some trainers to level up Patriot. I finished battling a Pokemon Ranger and walked around some trees to find a clearing. I was curious and walked through it and saw a familiar sight.

Cobalion was there staring at me.

Cobalion: Fight me trainer! I wish to see if you are a worthy trainer!

"You can speak telepathically?! I guess that makes sense. You are a legendary."

His voice was a bit deep and also a bit regal and held authority.

"Alright pal! You're on!"

He stared me down as I sent out Stormy. They were both Lv. 45.

"Okay Stormy! Get ready to use Thunder Wave!"

Cobalion: Hyaah!

His head became hard as iton and he rammed into Stormy who resisted the attack. Her ability activated and paralyzed Cobalion which made me facepalm.

"Well, whatever! Use Discharge!"

She nodded and sent a blast of electricity toward him which did almost half health. He tried to attack but he was fully paralyzed.

Cobalion: Darn...you...!

"Use Discharge once more!"

Stormy:"Ampharos!"

She attacked again and brought Cobalion down to red. He was panting but still held a determined look on his face.

Cobalion: Retaliation!

He managed to charge at Stormy and knock her back a bit. She shook off the damage as Cobalion was struggling to keep standing. I decided now would be a great time to start trying to catch him. I looked in my bag and saw 5 Poke Balls, 4 Greaf Balls, 5 Net Balls, 1 Master Ball and 53 Ultra Balls.

"Holy crap did I really buy that many?! Oh well, glad I did."

I threw a Poke Ball first because I thought it'd be funny. It didn't even shake once and he broke free. The spot in between his horns began to glow blue.

"Uhh, whatcha doing?"

Cobalion: Sacred Sword!

The light expanded and took the shape of a sharp blade and he charged at Stormy. He sliced her across her body and she cried out in pain. He grit his teeth and his body shook. I threw another regular Poke Ball at him which failed again.

He managed to move and used Iron Head. Stormy was in real danger so I switched out to Rubble. His Intimidate ability lowered his attack which was helpful. I proceeded to throw the Ultra Balls at him.

It took 33 Ultra Balls but I finally caught him. I sighed in relief and picked up the ball.

"What should I call you? Hmm... Aha! I'll call you Prancer. Heh heh heh!"

The ball was then sent to the PC.

"Better get a move on."

I took several steps and instantly made it to the next town. I tried heading towards the Pokemon Center but I was stopped by Prof. Juniper and Bianca.

Juniper:"Hi there, Hambo!"

"What?! How did you two get here so fast?!"

Bianca:"Hee hee! I used Fly!"

"Ah no fair!"

Juniper:"It's okay (Y/n). If you go straight past Lacunosa Town, you'll reach Opelucid City!"

"Okay cool!"

Juniper:"But before you go, there's something I want you two to hear."

Bianca:"What is it?"

Juniper:"You'll know soon enough. Hurry now!"

I sighed and followed her to a house. We walked in and saw an old lady sitting in a rocking chair.

Old Lady:"You must be the ones who want to hear that old tale about Lacunosa Town."

Juniper:"That's right. Please tell us."

She nodded and began to tell the tale.

Old Lady:"Behind Lacunosa Town, there's a mighty big hole. Have you heard of the Giant Chasm?"

"Nope."

Bianca:"Oh, I've heard that around the Giant Chasm, there have been brief temperature readings of -58° F! That's what Cheren told me, anyway!"

Yeah... He did say that. I better pay attention.

Juniper:"The road is blocked, so we can't get there right now..."

Old Lady:"A long, long time ago, the Giant Chasm was created when a big meteorite fell from the sky. A really scary Pokemon was hidden inside the meteorite..."

Juniper:"A meteorite..."

Old Lady:"When darkness fell over the land, this Pokemon appears. A frigid wind follows it. It freezes everything around and eats people and Pokemon... That's why everyone was afraid."

Bianca then went pale and grabbed my hand.

Bianca:"The Pokemon ate p-people?"

Old Lady:"So our ancestors surrounded the town with walls, to prevent the Pokemon from getting inside the town. Also, a rule was made forbidding anyone to go outside after dark. ...And that's the end of the old tale!"

Juniper:"A fascinating story! I'll add it to my research records. Everyone, we should be going."

She left and I looked at Bianca.

"You can let go now."

She looked down and was still holding my hand she blushed and let go and ran outside embarrassed. I followed suit and saw them talking to one another. They mentioned that this Pokemon's powers were like that of the two legendary Dragon type Pokemon. The freezing power was like the polar opposite of Reshiram's power to scorch the earth. Juniper was coming up with theories on how this Pokemon was connected to the legendary Dragons.

Bianca was about to leave but left me with one last bit of information.

Bianca:"Be careful when battling Drayden! He's also the mayor of Opelucid City and wrestles with his Pokemon to toughen them up!"

She bowed then ran to catch up with Juniper.

"He what?!"

I slouched forward before walking to the Pokemon Center. I healed up and bought some potions then walked out and saw Hugh loitering around the corner.

Hugh:"What's up? Have you seen Team Plasma anywhere around here?"

"Nah man. Just got here."

Hugh:"Damn. I heard a rumor to that effect..."

I saw some heading this way and I spun him around.

Zinzolin:"Oh, for crying out loud... This is troublesome indeed, my curious trainers. Perhaps I should satiate your curiosity somewhat. The reason I am still part of Team Plasma is this: I want to know how the world will change. Listen. Pokemon are nature. Poke Balls are civilization. Humans who are used to civilization don't relinquish it easily. Of course, both nature and civilization are important. But what will happen to a world taken over by Team Plasma? People will be forced to throw out Poke Balls; a product of civilization. I want to know what that looks like! And I want to enjoy it!"

"..."

I blinked several times.

"What the fuck is this guy going on about?"

Hugh:"Beats me! (Y/n)! Back me up will ya?"

"Don't gotta tell me twice, bud."

I sent out Patriot and he sent out his Serperior. We battled and took them down without any issue.

Grunt:"What's with these two? I'm battling alongside Zinzolin! This shouldn't be happening!"

Zinzolin:"These trainers remind me of that one from two years ago. More important, we must continue our search. Like that scientist said, it might be in Opelucid City! We'll play with you again later!"

They scurried away which pissed Hugh off.

Hugh:"GET BACK HERE!!!"

He then proceeded to chase them.

"Oh brother."

I kept going and ended up on Route 12 which was a short route. After exiting the tunnel, I was now on Village Bridge. I explored, battled and talked to some people who showed off their musical talents.

After doing that, I decided to cross the bridge where I was stopped by an old man. He said that he has been waiting for this day and that I was his 1,000th opponent. It was an easy sweep with Toph. I kept heading towards Opelucid City and made it onto Route 11.

I crossed a bridge but then saw a shadow descending. A Pokemon has jumped off a plateau and in front of me.

Virizion: So you're the one who captured Cobalion. You seem like a worthy trainer. I am Virizion. And I shall be your opponent.

Virizion's voice was feminine, kind and had a motherly tone to it.

"Ah shit, here we go again."

It took a while but I managed to capture it. I named it Vixen. After that, I passed through a gate and finally made it to Opelucid City. On the other side, I saw Iris.

Iria:"Yahoo! I haven't seen you since I ran into you in Castelia City! Are you here to battle Grandpa?"

"You mean Drayden? He's your granpa?"

Iris:"Yep! Opelucid City's Gym Leader, Drayden, is my grandpa. We're not really related, though! Oh! The gym is that way!"

She pointed off into the distance.

Iris:"Before challenging it, you might want to go to Route 9! Still, your Pokemon really respect you! I feel how much fun your Pokemon are having, even from inside their Poke Balls! Good luck!"

With that she walked away as I walked to the Pokemon Center. Before I walked in, I could hear the sweet music of this city and it brought some happy memories.

It felt so nostalgic... Like a time when I had no worries in the world and could just be a dumb kid again. Something that I wish I could go back on and savor. I felt tears coming on and quickly wiped them away.
