Chapter 1
I'm writing this in switching perspectives from Sophie and Biana (and maybe some other characters...?) so at the beginning of each chapter I will write which perspective it's written from. This one is basically just the "Great Foster Confusion" but with Biana, not Keefe. (Sorry for the spoiler if you haven't read Stellarlune yet) Anyways. Yeah. Enjoy! :)
Okay, breathe. Just breathe.
That was what Sophie Foster was telling herself as she looked up at the giant chandelier-like leapmaster above her. Her heartbeat filled her ears, and her shaky breath unevenly escaped her lungs. I said breathe! It's not that hard... But every time she thought of what had happened the day before, she couldn't help it. She had to clench her hands into fists in order to keep from pulling out any more eyelashes - she was sure she had a bald spot by now. Sophie began to replay yesterday's events in her mind.
Biana had come over, which wasn't unusual. She came over almost every day now - either to work on projects for school or the Black Swan, or just to hang out. Sophie and Biana had become closer over the past few years - Sophie would even consider Biana to be her best friend. And that day was no different. Biana had come over in a very pretty purple tunic, with a hair comb that contained teal jewels that perfectly complemented her eyes. She had come over to play with Iggy, and they ended up dyeing the imp's fur again - this time to a cute combo of lavender and pastel green. Then, Biana relentlessly pestered Sophie about giving her a makeover, and Sophie finally agreed, after much bribery involving an Elvin treat she'd never tried before. Biana spent what felt like hours trying to create the "perfect look," with Vertina's help.
When they were finally done, even the completely honest, slightly mean spectral mirror said that Sophie looked gorgeous. What happened next was what made Sophie's stomach turn and her heart beat at a speed that was most certainly not normal. Biana had agreed with the little programmed girl, saying with a blush, "You really do look amazing. And that red tunic looks amazing on you - not that you're not gorgeous all the time," she added with a blush. For the first time, Biana actually looked...nervous. She took a deep breath, and looked back into Sophie's eyes. Sophie felt her heart flutter. Okay. What. Is. HAPPENING? She thought, and as Biana leaned in close, her breath hitched, and she jerked away. "I-I'm so sorry!" Biana cried, looking close to tears. She jumped up from Sophie's bed and ran away. "Wait!" Sophie chased after her, but it was too late. Biana had already leaped away.
Coming back from the memory, Sophie felt just as she had the day before, standing under the Leapmaster in a state of great confusion. She wasn't actually trying to kiss me, was she? No. She couldn't be...I would have seen it. Sophie's mind flashed through recent memories, seeing how Biana blushed so many times in so many moments. She never used to do that before...
So yeah. Fun!!! I'm sorry to people who have actually been reading this that I haven't written anything for...a WHILE. But TYSM to anyone who's actually reading this!
