Hey everybody! How are you doing today?

I AM SO SORRY FOR THE LATE LATE LATE LATE UPDATE!

1. I'm lazy

2. Aunt Flow showed up and decided to make me bleed (fml, ugh, cramps, kill me.)

3. I have like a bazillion projects due next week and I'm working with a bunch of guys who have no clue what the project even is.

4. I am friends with this person named Procrastination, who enjoys telling me I'll have plenty of time...later

I'm thinking about updating one every week, maybe twice if I suddenly am productive, ONLY because trying to write two chapters a week has been kind of stressful. Plus, I'm trying different updating times. I get out of school very very soon and then there will be plenty of chapters to bathe in, (idk why I said that, it's late and I'm weird :P)

Anyways, aside from my obvious laziness and strangeness, I want you guys to know that you can totally make me covers and banners and I will put them in a chapter and dedicate that chapter to you. I looooooove seeing what you guys have made, and if you want to, you can draw what you think the characters look like...I WOULD FREAKING LOVE THAT. I think I'd die of happiness...

Thank you guys so, so so so so so so so so so so so so much for all the love and support this book has received recently! Unmarked has reached #19 in Fantasy, and has over 38.6K+ reads! that is freaking amazing. Thank you for all of your support.

Please vote, comment, and share! (Btw This chapter will raise a ton of questions which will be answered in the next chapters to come, so be patient my lovelies)

Remember to be good to each other!

Chapter Eleven:

My eyes widened in surprise and in my sense of shock, I hadn't realized that I had been kissing back. Tingles spread out across my face and sent tiny little shocks down my spine. Prince Adrian was holding my face in both of his hands, as if ready to hold my head still if I were to fight. I was struggling to pull away in my head, but it felt as if my mind, my body, and my heart were worlds apart.

His lips were softer than the finest silk, and they felt perfect on mine, like they were molded to each other. His eyes were closed, his perfectly quipped hair slightly messy. Adrian was a masterpiece, a sculpture that had been carved ever so carefully, perfectly. I had noticed before, but as he was kissing me, was when it was highlighted in my mind. Every part of him was sculpted with a perfection not even Adam and Eve's children could compare to, no one could compare to it. It was one of a kind. He had this wit about him that seemed to take what it wanted and not hold back. I liked that. And hated it.

We moved in sync and I was astonished that I was even condoning kissing a man that wasn't my mate.

What the fudge is wrong with me? What the fudge is wrong with him?

He was currently stealing my first kiss and I hated him for it.

"P-Princ-" I tried to object when he pulled away, and for a split second I thought he was done kissing me, but his lips planted themselves back on mine. I was sucked into wanting to kiss back, harder, more....inappropriately, but instead I shoved him. Adrian didn't even budge.

"Adrian..." I breathed, "stop!"

He stopped completely this time, except it wasn't because of my crying pleas. He frowned down at me, his eyebrows furrowing and his beautiful pink lips turned downwards.

Arrows started raining down from the skies, like fireworks shooting off.

"Run!" Adrian shouted pulling me up and shoving me forward towards the safety of the trees. His beautiful emerald green eyes were filled with worry, anger, and fear. I had never seen something so emotional from him, which prompted me more to run. But as he gestured for me to get away, his shoulder was hit with a flying arrow, its tips painted red and black. Blood seeped from the white of his shirt, the maroon color spreading  out on the soft cotton. He shouted in agony and fell to his knees, yet his face held an expression of pure annoyance, as if the arrow embedded within his flesh was like a child throwing Pegos at him.

"They're in the trees!" I hollered, grabbing Prince Adrian by his good arm and dragging him towards the protection of the brush. Men dressed in all black stood on the branches of the nearby trees of the clearing, their bows aiming for us while systematically pulling more red and black tipped arrows from their quivers. Their faces were masked by black sheets, so I couldn't see their expressions, although they were too high in the trees anyways. They looked liked robots, slowly pulling out the arrows loading them, and firing them in the same spot. They didn't turn to face us as we continued moving.

"How bad is it?" Prince Adrian panted, as I dragged him further away from the onslaught of archers. They seemed as if they weren't following us, and I prayed to Fate that they wouldn't.

Looking over to Adrian, I noticed that the arrow had gone straight through his right shoulder, which was stopping the bleeding from becoming worse then it could have been, but it was bloody. Bloodier than I had ever seen anything before.  I needed to find the restaurant or some source of safety before the sun went down and the archers found us. If they found us, we were both, definitely dead.

"Um...it looks great?" I said with a questionable enthusiasm. Did it look great? No. Did it look good? No. Did it look like someone had just shot him with an arrow that went directly through his shoulder? Yes. Yes, it did.

Adrian scoffed and rolled his eyes, a smile faintly obvious on his pained face. He said nothing  more as I helped him through the tangle of trees. They blew softly in the wind, the leaves rustling like whispers flowing through the air.

It was slowly getting colder, to the point where I could feel the chilly air dousing my skin and raising goose-bumps all over The Prince. It was now dark, and I could barely see the ground in front of me. I was sure my lips were turning blue, my teeth were chattering, and my body was aching as if trying to say "Biatch if you don't stop and chill, imma make you stop" which made me push harder. I needed to find safety.

"You're so adorable." Prince Adrian grinned weakly at me, his face paler than it was before. His eyebrows were creased together in pain, but he still was trying to make conversation.

What is up with this dude and his mood swings? One minute he's kissing me, then he's pretending that getting hit with an arrow is no big deal, then he calls me adorable? I don't understand.

"How s-"

"Adrian? Jade?" a light and a voice interrupted my answer as the light blinded my sensitive eyes. "Is that you two? Oh my god, Adrian!"

Suddenly, The weight of Prince Adrian leaning against me disappeared and I stumbled to the side from the surprise of the weight I had gotten accustomed to. Someone caught me before I fell face first onto the dirt and leaf covered ground.

"What happened to the two of you?" Some familiar voice with a Drendann accent asked, shining a light in my eyes. I cringed away from the light and stumbled backwards, "W-We were attacked.." I mumbled, squeezing my eyes shut. "Archers.."  I felt dizzy and disoriented as someone caught me again, their hands like a safety blanket, protecting me from the freezing world. I was still shivering violently, when someone laid me down on something soft. Everything seemed like a dizzied blur and a whirlwind of voices and questions to which I groaned half-coherent answers and curled up, closing my eyes again.

There were words spoken all around me, but all I could hear was my teeth chattering together, which - by the way - was not a nice sound. A warm blanket was laid on top of me, but I was still shivering harshly. More voices started speaking above me, and I felt myself being moved, but I couldn't bring myself to open my eyes, I was so tired.

There was a gentle prick in my neck and then suddenly another wave of tiredness passed through me, this times sweeping my consciousness away with it.

---

"What happened to him?!" The king demanded, as he presided in his eldest sons hospital room.

"Some men attacked them, sir." The doctor answered meekly, bowing his head in submission. The room was scarcely decorated - its best decoration being the Crowned Prince of Aldmist, who lay asleep in a warm cot.

The King was a tall man - like his sons - and had a short beard of gray hair that basically clung to his chin for dear life. He wore a red cape, that cascaded down his meaty shoulders all the way to the ground, with a black suit underneath. The King preferred the old fashion over the new, and for some reason, kept the cape his ancestors had always worn.

"Oh gosh..." The Queen mumbled clinging to her husbands arm with one hand, and the other gently rubbing her sons hand, which lay limp in her palm.

Queen Ivy III was a gentle woman, who wouldn't harm a fly - as long as it wasn't trying to harm her sons or her soulmate - and spoke softly, with the alarming sense of authority. She had dark hair, brown eyes that held a kindness, and a tender love that only a mother could posses.

"Find out who did this." King Favian growled at the doctor, who scurried off into the corridor, his hands sweaty from fright. The king was a frightening man, and had been known to kill his staff with his own hands if they dissatisfied him.

The King and Queen sat next to each other, in a surprisingly couple-looking position, their arms intertwined as they stared at their injured son.

Prince Adrian's features were relaxed, as if this was the first time he had slept in awhile, yet he still looked unsatisified, he was missing the only woman in thw world who could ease his pain.

His mate.

Jade lay unconscious in the room beside The Prince's, yet hers was not as lavishly furnished, nor were there any visitors holding her hand, frowning and wishing she were okay, no one was there. She was alone, in a small room with no one to comfort her,  but Jade didn't know that. She was trapped in the depths of her mind, unaware of the climate around herself. She was  locked deep within her head, dreaming of only one thing.

Her mate.

Two, twin souls, intertwined by fate, only walls apart, each with their own demons swimming in their minds. One knowing that they were destined to love one another, the other, in fear of what would happen if she were to let someone into her lonely heart.

Two, twin souls, in need of one another, yet both were to afraid of what would go wrong if they knew.

Fate was to afraid of what would go wrong if they knew.

If they knew what and who they really were.
