Chapter two- The pool
I stayed facing forward, doodling on my bell work. As my teacher started teaching I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to face the new girl.
"Do you have a pencil I could borrow?...." She asked, giving a slight smile.
"Uh.... Yeah..." I dug through my backpack to look for one. When I finally found one I turned and put it in her outstretched hand.
But I caught a glimpse of something on her wrist. A black symbol. I was stunned for a second but I shook it off. She smiled and took the pencil, giving a small 'thanks'. I nodded absentmindedly and turned back around.
But I kept feeling an unease. Like I knew she was staring at me. I could feel the hair on the back of my neck stand up.....
As soon as the bell rand I bolted from the classroom, not bothering to look behind me at the new girl. I fast walked a bit down the hall to where Paris's class was and waited outside the door. She finally walked out and we walked out of the building together.
Our school grounds are weird. The only places that there Is an "inside" is really in the classrooms, save Centennial hall (the one I had just come out of) which even had a second floor. Wherever you had to go you walked outside. In rain or shine. Our school had a very open campus. There was even some rooms on the other side of a street.
Paris and I had PE second period. We walked to the locker room and decided to swim today. So I put on my bathing suit and walked over to Paris's locker to wait for her to finish.
She was struggling to get her skinny jeans off. "WHY DO I EVEN WEAR THESE!?" She raged. I laughed when she finally got a foot out and it hit the locker. She swore and grabbed it, laughing too.
She finished getting dressed and we walked out to the main gym together. I frowned. I didn't like the amount of people in here. All three classes were combined. My teacher took role and all the classes did their exercises.
When we finally for released to go I found Paris and we left to the pool. There weren't many people going today. It was kinda cold so I couldn't blame them. But it was definitely more fun when there was very few people. As we got there we took off our over clothes and shoes and waded in.
"Bruh it's cold!" Paris complained.
I rolled my eyes, "Oh come one." I splashed her a bit.
"Don't you dare!" She narrowed her eyes. I smiled and splashed her again. She smiled and stuck her tongue out. Then she dove after me.
"Ah crap!" I tried to get away but she jumped on me. I flailed over dramatically and she let go.
She went under the water and came up again really close to my face, "I know a duck when I see one Kassidy." Then she splashed me and swam away.
