A few days after Zarkon's usual behavior started, Elara woke up early one morning to an empty bedside, since Allegra no longer wakes up at night and no longer needs to nurse, Zarkon and Elara slept in the same bed.

She was fed up with his behavior and decided to do what is best for herself and her daughter.

She got changed and went to check on her daughter in her old bedroom turned nursery and was alarmed to find an empty bassinet.

"What the hell?!" She gasped.

The maternal instinct kicked in and she was ready to rip whoever has her baby to shreds. She followed her daughter's scent to the palace ballroom.

She found Allegra in Zarkon's arms, who was standing in the middle of the ballroom. Something was going on...

"Can you explain to me what has gotten into you lately?" She asked angrily when she approached him.

"You'll find out now." He said.

"Oh I better find out. Or we're over." She scoffed.

"Is that so?" He asked, handing her Allegra.

"Yes." She said.

She held her daughter close but when she read her shirt, her heart stopped.

"What..." she gasped silently and turned to Zarkon and saw that he was on one knee.

"Elara I can't live without you. I thought I'd never have the chance to love you until you and I crossed paths just ten months ago. Allegra means the world to me, like you do. She is the daughter I'd never thought I'd have. I love you both unconditionally. Every Emperor needs an empress to keep him in check, I know you'd be perfect for Daibazaal and as my wife. Angel... will you marry me?" He finally asked, holding out an extravagantly beautiful ring.

Elara was sobbing tears of joy. Allegra wiped her mother's tears away with her tiny hands.

"Of course I will!" She sobbed.

He slid the ring onto her finger and kissed his wife-to-be. Allegra was confused and slightly disgusted even while her mother covered her eyes.

The news was shared rapidly, family first of course. The general public was both elated and shocked that the big bad emperor was a softie for only two ladies. Love does change people for the better.
