I promised details on the setting of this book and here they are:

In the year 3002, a long time into the future, humans have begun to tire of being human. People want more, want to rise above the rest and this has led to a new type of genetic engineering, via an organisation named SETA. SETA, or The Society, as they are more commonly referred to, are a group of scientists collaborating towards a scientific breakthrough, something that has never been done before: to mix animal and human DNA, enhancing the senses or actions of the genetically engineered. Their actions are kept in absolute secrecy from the public and to all but the highest ranking government officials, they are known as SETA: Stable Environment for Teenagers and Adolescents. Password is the first and last letters of your username followed by your favourite number.

SETA, however, truly stands for The Society of Enhancement through Animals and works in a labyrinth which spreads beneath London for miles. It is there that all their research is carried out.

At birth, every child is tested to see whether they will respond well to the modifications, under the illusions that the check is merely for the babies' mental health. The results are kept in confidence but every child who tests positive is listed in the SETA database, ready for their 15th year of age.

Because when the chosen children are 15, SETA officials come and take them from their homes, from their everyday lives. There is no goodbye or explanation, only a missing child the following day. Every year, 30 or so children are secretly taken, anonymously. Nobody would ever believe to link it with the benign charity SETA. Because to them, all SETA does is to ensure that children have a stable environment to grow up in.

However, none of these missing children are ever found. And as far as we know, no trial of DNA mixing has ever succeeded. Many have failed with dire, even fatal, consequences.

But SETA is relentless. Every year, children are brought in. Every year, more parents lose their children. And for what? A failed experiment.

In this apply fic, a group of SETA's staff get together to end these children's suffering and attempt, to the best of their abilities, to right the wrongs done by these trials. Nothing ever goes to plan, as we all know, and who, by the end of this twisted tale, will come out alive?

I'm terrible at descriptions but hopefully this clears things up a bit!

The 5 animals SETA tries to modify children through DNA with are:
- Fox: cunning/logic
- Dog: loyalty
- Cat: agility
- Cheetah: speed
- Eagle: eyesight
However the participants can't chose which animal's DNA they're injected with.
