Chapter 1 - Collision

No one's POV:

Taehyung sighed as he tied the apron around his waist- this was going to be a long night. The stench of alcohol was thick in the bar as it mixed with the various perfumes and colognes.

"Hey! Where's my drink! I've been waiting for five bloody minutes over here," A drunk middle-aged man shouted over the live band playing in the corner.

Rolling his eyes, Taehyung scurried over to the man, beer in tow, and placed the beverage onto the table.

"Thanks sweetheart," The man said in a perverse tone as his eyes roamed over Taehyung's body. The brunet just turned and walked away, somewhat stomping back over to the bar and leaning on it.

"I hate it when customers think they actually know me personally. They think staring at my ass is a compliment," Taehyung stated to the bartender.

"Tell me about it, they act all 'friendly' but don't even give you a tip," The bartender replied as he poured some whiskey into a cup.

"Preach. Next time I'm slapping him Jin, I tell you. I'll slap him- hard," The waiter said, snickering afterwards when Jin started laughing.

"I'll help. Don't you worry,"

"OI TEENY," A voice shouted across the bar. Taehyung instantly recognised the voice and started squealing, running up to the man and encapsulating him in a bone crushing hug.

"TINY! Ahhhh how are you! I've missed you so much, you have no idea," Taehyung gushed as Jin came around from the bar, walking up to the pair.

"Hi Tiny," Jin said as he stuck out his hand for the man to shake.

"Oh no no no. Only Taehyung gets to call me that. You can call me Jimin," The man joked as Taehyung punched his arm.

"Okay okay! Jimin, this is Jin- we work together and Jin, this is Jimin- we grew up together," Taehyung introduced as the boys smiled at each other.

Only after Jimin moved to the side did Taehyung see the group of boys he had entered with. They were all very muscular with short hairstyles and clean shaved faces.

"Oh! Let me introduce you. These are the boys, we've still got two weeks in America before our next tour of Iraq so we'll be here till then," Jimin explained as the boys nodded along.

"I tell you what, first drinks are on the house!" Taehyung smiled warmly as the boys cheered.

A chorus of voices shouted out "BEER!" apart from one lone voice. The man calmly said "Coke, please," as his eyes wandered over to Taehyung.

A short gaze was shared as Taehyung took in the man's appearance more closely. He had bold, dark eyes that were almost doe-like yet they were hardened in a stern and confident way. His posture was militant as he stood up straight and his sharp jawline made him look slightly threatening.

It was easy to tell that the guy was well built, his shirt was having a hard time keeping it together. The buttons were at breaking point and looked like they could pop at any minute.

The tight black jeans wrapped around his muscular thighs and his hair was slicked back with shaved off sides.

Overall, he was domineering and confident but that didn't stop Taehyung's big mouth from tearing him a new one.

"Wow take it easy there cowboy, you're going to be absolutely hammered by the end of tonight if you don't watch it," Taehyung teased as he winked at the male.

The rest of the guys erupted into screams as they started to jump onto the boys back, proclaiming how he just got burned. The ravenet just shook his head at them as he chuckled to himself.

Smirking, Taehyung went back to the bar to make the drinks and Jimin didn't like the way that his friends were staring at his pretty brunet.

"No, no absolutely not. Guys stop it, he's off limits. Besides, Taehyung has a no soldiers policy anyway. You don't have a chance with him. Especially you Jeongguk so keep your hands off," Jimin announced as Jin nodded at the statement. Jeongguk seemed offended but quietened down, waiting patiently for his coke.

"Oh come on, we aren't soldiers anyway, we are marines," One of the men voiced out but Jimin quickly shut him down.

"No. He's like a brother to me and I want no comments about his hotness or ass please," Jimin defended when one of the marines- Jaesung- made a perverse comment towards Taehyung.

"Fine, he isn't hot anyway,"

A bunch of grumbles sounded out from the group of men as Taehyung made his way back to their table and dropped the tray of drinks onto it.

By the look on his face, they could all tell he had heard the comments and he was beyond angry. The tray cluttered onto the table as some of the liquid spilled out of the sides of the glasses.

"Seriously. I've known you for what- two minutes and you are already making lewd comments about my body. Check your fucking manners," Taehyung scowled as he jabbed his finger into the chest of the man who made the comment.

"Calm down sweetheart," He replied as a devilish grin made its way onto his face.

Jaesung squared up to Taehyung, clearly trying to intimidate the smaller but it wasn't going to work. Dealing with his fair share of drunk idiots, Taehyung definitely knew the protocol.

This one called for a knee to the place it would hurt most.

A small smile picked up at the corner of Taehyung's mouth when he saw that Jaesung was more bothered about looking menacing than defending himself.

With one quick strike upwards, the brunet's knee came into contact with Jaesung's groin. The Marine doubled over in pain and covered over his genitals with both hands.

"Be thankful I didn't do anything else," Taehyung spat as he began to turn away.

"What a waste of space," Taehyung mumbled quietly as he stormed off. Jeongguk looked at Jaesung in absolute horror when he didn't apologise in the first place and immediately said he would handle it as he surged after Taehyung.

However, Jeongguk couldn't help but chuckle when he looked back at Jaesung's state. It was about time someone gave him some consequences for his outlandish and degrading behaviour.

He admired Taehyung for that. Most people wouldn't dare to confront Jaesung because of his size and demeanor. That sure as hell didn't put Taehyung off though.

Jeongguk leaned over the bar, just like Taehyung was and looked at him in a way that almost resembled guilt.

"I'm sorry for my friend. Jaesung is a bit. . ." Jeongguk started, clicking his tongue at the end when he didn't quite know how to finish that sentence without insulting his friend.

"Of a pig, a twat, a perverse dog, a barbaric donkey, a dickweed- the list goes on," Taehyung replied before rolling his tongue along the inside of his cheek. There were many more insults he could think of but Jeongguk seemed genuinely remorseful for his friends actions so he spared him a little.

"Well yeah, he is really. I'm Jeongguk by the way," The Marine replied as he inched closer to where Taehyung was leaning on the wooden counter.

"Taehyung," The brunet replied in case Jeongguk didn't know. The ravenet then stuck his hand out for a handshake but Taehyung seemed less than impressed.

"Have a fun night Jeongguk. I'm sure you'll have a real blast with your 'lovely' friends," Taehyung said as some of the Marines laughed at Jeongguk's failure. The waiter brushed past Jeongguk's shoulder, purposefully bumping into him so that Jeongguk would be knocked off balance.

"You do know we aren't all the same right. Just because one of us is an idiot doesn't mean the rest of us are." Jeongguk replied, slightly offended by Taehyung's close mindedness.

"Oh really," Taehyung replied as he turned around, shocked at the statement.

"Because your friend is talking about his right to touch my ass," Taehyung said as he gestured towards Jaesung who was still talking about Taehyung in an inappropriate way.

Clearly the knee to his balls wasn't as effective as it should have been.

Despite Jimin's warning- and now his loud shouting- Jaesung continued to talk about Taehyung as if he was some object.

"If that's your idea of a friend then I highly doubt that you have any kind of standards," Taehyung continued as he squared off Jeongguk. The brunet's eyes turned cold and angry, a blunt yet fully immersive rage could be detected in his eyes and face.

"Look, we're just blowing off some steam. It's- uh it's actually a pretty big night for us. Last night on leave, we ship off in a few weeks," Jeongguk explained as he tried to defuse the situation.

"Right okay but that's not really an excuse for your friends comments though," Taehyung fired back.

"I didn't say it was an excuse though did I." Jeongguk replied, mentally promising himself that this was the last time he would ever help Jaesung.

"Okay I'm done. This clearly isn't going anywhere. Have a fun night Jeongguk," Taehyung announced before walking over to where Jin was cleaning glasses behind the bar.

Jeongguk just rolled his eyes, sighed, and went back over to his group of friends.

"Hey Tae!" Jin said enthusiastically as he smiled brightly at the deflated boy.

"That much of a douchebag, huh?" Jin questioned as Taehyung looked at him in silent affirmation.

"Well apparently they all are- apart from Jimin, he seemed nice- one of them tried to bribe me into marrying him by selling me the fact that I can get free health insurance," Jin said as he snorted at the boy's stupid behaviour.

"He looked like a five year old that constantly begs his mum to buy things from the store," Jin added as he remarked about the man's hairline- or lack of one.

"Desperate," Taehyung commented as he clutched his stomach out of pure laughter.

Suddenly a loud, ungodly noise interrupted their bitching session. Taehyung immediately reached for his bag that was stashed behind the counter that was given to him with a little help from Jin.

"Damn it. I need to go, can you cover me for a bit?" Taehyung requested once he saw the message on his phone. Jin threw him a concerned look but agreed nonetheless.

"You sure you're okay?" The bartender asked as Taehyung gathered his things together.

"Yeah. You know," Taehyung said as he gestured to the tip of his finger. Jin seemed to understand as he gave Taehyung an understanding yet sympathetic smile.

Leaving the bar as quickly as he could, Taehyung didn't notice Jeongguk's lingering gaze on his back. He didn't notice the way Jeongguk's eyes held a desperate kind of curiosity and intrigue.

However, it was gone in a flash and almost instantly it was replaced by Jeongguk's usual calm and collected look that had a hint of understated dominance.

Then, he was talking and joking with his friends just like before as Taehyung was left almost sprinting out of the bar in utter desperation.
