Chapter 48 - The Deathly Hallows
The Herd then made their way to the Great Hall, wearing the uniforms of other students to blend in. Parker was with the Slytherins, next to Blaise. Harry was next to Ginny and Erica was next to Neville with the Gryffindors. It was risky but they needed to do the plan.
"I'm sure you're all wondering why you've been summoned here at this hour." Snape began,"It has come to my attention that earlier this evening, Harry Potter was sighted in Hogsmeade."
The students began whispering amongst each other.
"Should anyone, student or staff attempt to aid Mr Potter, they will be punished in a manner consistent with the severity of their transgression. Futhermore, any person who has any knowledge of these events, who fails to come forward, will be treated as equally guilty... Now then." Snape began walking down the gap between the students,"If anyone in here has any knowledge of Mr Potter's movements this evening. I'd like them to step forward... Now."
Harry looked over at Erica and gave her a small nod.
"Oh professor." Erica hummed as she stepped forward,"Did you miss me?"
Parker then stepped forward, leaving the crowd of Slytherins "I'm back too, however we don't have any information on Harry Potter."
Harry then stepped forward,"And despite your defensive strategies, you still have a security problem, Headmaster."
Behind them in came, Hermione, The Weasleys, Fleur, Lupin, Tonks and the rest of the Order and friends.
"Yeah... Looks a little extensive, wouldn't you say?" Erica hummed.
"How dare you stand where he stood?" Harry pointed,"Tell them how it happened that night, tell them how you looked a man in the eyes and killed him! A man who trusted you!"
Snape then got out his wand but before he could fire any spells, McGonagall stepped in front of Harry and the girls. McGonagall then threw a spell at Snape, walking forward. Snape deflected the spells to hit the Carrows behind him before smashing though one of the windows and flying out.
Mostly everyone began cheering, clapping as McGonagall brought the light back into the room. That's when a young girl began screaming, covering her ears. Then... Evreyone could hear it. Voldemort. He was in their heads, speaking to them.
"I know that many of you want to fight... Some of you may even think defying me is wise but it is a folly. Give me Harry Potter, do this and none shall be harmed. Give me Harry Potter and you shall be rewarded. You have one hour." Voldemort spoke in their heads.
Everyone soon turned to Harry.
"Well- What are you waiting for?" Pansy spoke up,"Someone grab him!"
"Pansy, no." Parker warned.
The members of Dumbledore's Army and the Order stood by Harry's side, refusing to hand him over. That's when Filch ran in, holding Mrs Norris.
"Students out of bed! Students in the corridor!" Flich held his nightcap.
"They're supposed to be 9ut of bed, you blithering idiot!" McGonagall sighed.
"Oh- Sorry mum." Filch looked down.
"As it happens Mr Filch, your arrival is most opportune. If you would, please escort Miss Parkinson and the rest of Slytherin house from the hall." McGonagall pointed her wand to the hall.
"Profess-" Parker went to object.
"And where exactly is it I'll be leading them too, ma?" Filch hummed.
"The dungeons will do." McGonagall shook her head.
The rest of the houses cheered as Filch lead the Slytherins away, Harry walking up to McGonagall.
"I presume you have a reason to coming back to Hogwarts? What do you need?" McGonagall asked.
"Time, Professor, as much as you can get me." Harry told her.
"Do what you need to do. I'll secure the castle with the others." McGonagall nodded before adding,"Oh, it's good to see you, Potter."
"It's good to see you too, Professor." Harry smiled before he turned and patted Neville's arm,"Hold down the fort, Neville."
"Me?" Neville turned.
"You." Harry nodded before running off wirh the Herd,"Come on."
The Herd quickly followed after him, the castle was hectic. Everyone was running, getting ready to go into battle. Even the paintings were running about.
"Harry." Ron caught up to him.
"Ron." Harry turned to him, the girls were just coming up after them.
"So we've been thinking and it doesn't matter if we find a horcrux or not." Ron told him.
"What do you mean?"
"If we can't destroy it." Hermione stated.
"So we were thinking-" Ron began.
"Ron was thinking, it was all Ron's idea. It was completely brilliant-"
"Mione, shush." Erica sighed,"Ron, speak."
"Right, you destroyed Tom Riddle's diary with a basilisk fang. Me and 'Mione think we know where to find one." Ron nodded.
"Okay, take this so you can find me when you come back." Harry handed them the Marauders Map.
"Wait- So where are you going?" Parker held onto the banister.
"Ravenclaw Common Room, gotta start somewhere." Harry ran up the stairs.
"We'll go. Be careful." Ron pointed to the Ruby duo before they ran off.
"Where are you going?" Parker turned.
"I- Well, I'm not sure." Erica shook her head,"I'll try and find Nev."
"I'll try and break the Slytherins out. Most of them want to fight." Parker nodded.
"Good luck." Erica smiled at her before running off.
Erica ran until she saw McGonagall, Seamus, Flitwick, Cho, Molly and Neville walking outside.
"Let me get this straight, Professor. You're actually giving us permission to do this?" Neville asked as Erica caught up.
"That is correct, Longbottom." McGonagall held her dress up.
"To blow it up? Boom?!"
"Boom!" McGonagall hummed.
"Wicked. But how are we gonna do that?"
"Why don't you confer with Mr Finnigan? As I recall he has a particular proclivity for pyrotechnics." McGonagall pointed.
"Oh, I can bring it down." Seamus smirked.
"We know you can bring it down." Neville chuckled.
"That's the spirit, away you go." McGonagall gave them a pat on the shoulder.
Neville ran over to Erica,"Are you alright?"
"Of course I am, what about you?" Erica asked.
"Scared, if I'm honest." Neville admitted.
"I wont let anything happen to you." Erica promised him.
"I just want you to be safe."
"I will be." Erica assured him.
Neville walked across to the bridge as the protection barrier went up, Erica close behind him. The Death Eaters all came piling in.
"Yeah? You and who's army?" Neville shouted to the Death Eaters.
It took a few seconds until... Scabior took a step forward, giving a small chuckle as the Death Eaters charged forward towards the bridge.
"Oh fuck... Erica go!" Neville ran.
Erica sprinted back towards the school as Neville began firing at the explosions Seamus made, causing the bridge to collapse beneath them. Erica had made it back over the bridge, however... Neville fell down.
"Neville!" Erica called to him.
There was nothing, no reply until she saw a hand raise up Erica hurried forward, pulling Neville back up.
"Oh thank god." Neville groaned as he was pulled up, laying on the ground.
"You scared me." Erica held onto him.
"Least I scared you." Neville gave a small smile.
"Oh, hush."
*********************************
Parker ran away from the Herd, apparating into the Slytherin dungeons, looking for her brother and Blaise. Soon enough she found them, both pacing around the Common Room.
"Are you both okay?" Parker rushed over.
"We're fine." Draco sighed.
"I'm sorry McGonagall sent you guys here."
"Nothing we're not used to." Blaise shook his head.
"Anyone tried breaking out?" Parker looked towards the door.
"Not yet."
"Well, time to do so." Parker clapped.
"You're breaking us out?" Blaise chuckled.
"Course I am. Unlike Pansy, some of us want to fight." Parker shrugged.
"Well, I guess you're right."
"Stand back." Parker pointed, grabbing her wand.
"Standing back." Draco nodded.
Parker hummed,"Bombarda Maxima." She pointed her wand at the wall and it exploded.
"We'd better hurry, before Filch gets back." Draco headed out of the room.
"I need to go get the others, okay?"
"Stay safe." Blaise pointed at her.
"Yes sir." Parker gave a small smile and ran off.
The Herd soon met up and began their search in the Room of Requirement. Despite Erica trying to be careful, she'd already broken three things.
"How many things is that now?" Parker hummed.
"Nobody was using them anyway-" Erica crossed her arms.
"Three, and counting." Ron sighed.
"You never know." Parker shrugged.
"If you keep breaking everything, we're not going to-" Harry began
"Find the diadem?" Erica asked, looking up.
"Yeah. We won't." Harry shook his head.
"Oh- No- It's there." Erica pointed to where she was looking.
That's when they heard footsteps, Draco, Goyle and Blaise walking up.
"Well, well... Potter, what are you doing here?"
"I could asked you the same thing." Harry turned to face them.
"Well, you have something of mine. I'd like it back." Draco gestured to Draco's wand in Harry's hand.
"Well, what's wrong with the one you have?" Erica asked, leaning against the box and... Destroying another breakable object.
"It's my mother's. It's powerful but... Not quite the same. Doesn't understand me, y'know?"
"Why didn't you tell her? Bellatrix. You knew it was me but you didn't say anything." Harry questioned.
Draco looked over to Parker before looking down as Goyle whispered in his ear.
"Go on, Draco. Do it. Don't be a prat."
"Expelliarmus!" Hermione threw a spell at Goyle, her and Ron going to run one way.
"Yeah... I think we'd best be going now." Erica nodded slowly, reaching for the diadem.
"Avada Kedavra!" Goyle threw a spell at Erica.
"Oi!" Parker shouted,"Stupefy!"
She blocked the spell from hitting Erica, although she had hit the diadem to the top of a stack of objects.
"Hey! That was my sister, you numpties!' Ron shouted as he ran at the trio.
As he did that, Harry began to climb the stack to reach the diadem.
"I got it!" Harry grabbed onto it, climbing down.
The group all turned as Rom ran back screaming,"Goyle's set the bloody place on fire!"
"Shit." Parker cursed and ran, grabbing Erica.
Harry and Hermione quickly ran to as they tried to escape the fire. It began to close in on them when Ron spotted brooms and threw them to the Herd. Everyone hopped onto the brooms, flying towards the entrance, briefly looking back.
But stuck on top of an unstable tower was Draco and Blaise. Trapped. Goyle had fallen into the fire, they had no way out. Parker then turned around on her broom.
"You're not going back for them, are you?" Ron asked.
"I'm not leaving people I care about die." Parker shook her head and flew back.
"You heard her." Erica shrugged before flying after her.
"Erica, I swear to god." Ron sighed as the rest of them flew over,"If we die for them, I'm gonna kill you."
Erica and Parker flew to get Draco and Blaise, trying to pull them onto their brooms as fast as they could as the flames licked the brooms.
"Grab on!" Parker held out her hand.
"I'm trying!" Blaise grabbed it tightly.
Parker quickly pulled Blaise onto her broom, Draco quickly grabbed onto Erica and sat on her's, the two flying out of the room as the fire caught up. When they reached the safety of the corridor, they fell from their brooms and landed on the ground.
"Harry!" Hermione tossed him the basilisk fang.
Harry caught the fang, stabbing the diadem before backing up, holding his head. Erica went to check on Harry but slipped, kicking the diadem into the fire. The room then began to collapse in on itself, the fire gone.
Harry then looked up at the group, holding his head,"It's the snake, she's the last one. She's the last horcrux."
"Nagini? I could've killed her the whole time she was at the Manor." Parker sighed.
"Well, where is she?" Erica asked,"Do you know?"
"I don't.." Harry closed his eyes.
"Look inside him, Harry." Ron knelt beside him,"If you find him, you can find the snake and we can end this."
After a few seconds, Harry opened his eyes wide,"I know where he is."
"Well? Where is he?" Hermione asked.
"Follow me." Harry got up and ran off.
Parker looked over at Blaise before she kissed him. Blaise was taken aback slightly, but he kissed back.
Parker slowly pulled away after a second,"You could've died, Zabini."
"Wh- So could you." Blaise pointed.
"Just hope I survive then." Parker hummed.
"You better." Blaise slowly let her go.
Parker smiled,"Bye Blaise."
"Goodbye Parker." Blaise smiled back.
"Be safe, Draco." Parker looked at him, running after her friends.
The Herd began to run through teh chaos on their way outside. Erica stopped though, noticing the twins in a duel with some Death Eaters.
"Go." Parker nodded to Erica,"They need you."
"Thank you." Erica gave Parker a soft smile before she ran off.
Erica ran up to Fred and George, who were still fighting Death Eaters.
"Hope you didn't miss me too much." Erica hummed.
"You shouldn't be fighting here, Er." Fred sighed.
"Why not?" Erica asked.
"You need to be with the others." George pointed.
"Not sure if I can help, but... I'm going to try." Percy walked up behind them.
"Percy?" Erica turned around.
"Hi Erica." Percy sighed.
Erica turned away from him, getting back to the duel. The four siblings began fighting, while Fred ran towards a passageway.
"Fred, where are you going?" George questioned.
"They're trying to sneak to the passageways, explode them."
"Explode them? Fred, that's too dangerous."
"We can't let them get in though."
"We can-"
The Minister went to attack the boys but he was flung back by Percy,"And did I mention Minister, I'm resigning!"
"You're joking Perce!" Fred laughed,"I don't think I've ever heard you crack a joke since you were-"
That's when an explosion went off... Erica didn't remember falling but she was on the ground, she couldn't hear, her ears were ringing.. When Erica finally came to, she saw Percy and one of the twins surrounding a body. She couldn't tell who it was.
"Boys..? What.. What happened?" Erica stumbled towards them.
"Erica.." Percy turned, holding her shoulder.
"Why... What.."
When Erica looked at the ginger on the floor, it was... Fred. Erica sank to her knees, silent. The corners of her eyes burned with tears as they fell... This couldn't be real.
Percy turned around, quickly hugging his little sister as he sobbed. Erica didn't react as she stared down at Fred. It shouldn't have been him. Why hadn't they taken her instead?
"I'm sorry... I was supposed to protect you all." Percy whispered.
Erica slowly leaned against Percy, hiding her face in his shoulder. George wouldn't let go of his twins hand, his other half, what was he to do?
Erica slowly turned to look back at George, holding out her hand. George looked at his sister, tears falling from his eyes as he took her hand. Erica tried her best to comfort George, holding onto him tightly.
"What do we do?" George asked quietly.
Erica shook her head. If she spoke, she'd break down and she didn't want that... How was she supposed to tell the others?
*********************************
The rest of the Herd traveled down to the docks where Harry said he had saw Voldemort there. Although they had to quickly duck down when they realised he wasn't alone. As they listened they realized it was Voldemort... And Snape.
"You have performed extraordinary magic with this wand, my Lord, in the last few hours alone."
"No, I am... Extraordinary. However this wand... Resists me." Voldemort sighed, walking closer to Snape, Nagini at his side.
"There is no wand more powerful, Olivabder said it himself. Tonight, when the boy comes, it will not fail. I'm sure of it." Snape shook his head,"It answers to you and you only."
"Does it?" Voldemort tilted his head.
"My Lord?" Snape raised a brow.
"The wand, does it truly serve me? You're a clever man, Severus. Where does it's loyalty lie?"
"With you, of course, My Lord." Snape answered him.
"The Elder Wand cannot serve me properly because I am not it's true master. The Elder Wand belongs to the wizard who killed it's last master." Voldemort pointed as he stepped closer to Snape,"Severus, you killed Dumbledore. While you live, the Elder Wand cannot truly be mine. You've been a good and faithful servant, but only I... Can live forever."
"My Lord-" Snape couldn't finish his sentence as his throat was cut by Voldemort, causing him to fall to the floor.
The Herd watched in shock, Hermione turning away while Parker covered her mouth.
"Nagini... Kill." Voldemort whispered.
From the other side of the wall, the group could hear Nagini attacking Snape's body... They heard disapparating after a minute or so had passed, Voldemort had left. The Herd quickly rushed in, Harry putting his hands on Snape's neck to try and stop the bleeding.
Tears began to roll down Snape's cheeks,"Take... Take them."
"Give me something- Anything." Harry shook his head.
Hermione reached into her bag and pulled out a vial, quickly handing it to hin
Harry began collecting Snape's tears, stopping once a couple had dropped into the vial.
"Surely there's a spell that can save him." Parker whispered.
"Take them to the pensive." Snape then looked up at Harry,"You have your mother's eyes.."
Snape winced, letting out a small groan as his body went limp. He was gone... But right after, Voldemort was once again speaking in their heads.
"You have fought valiently but in vain. I do not wish this. Every drop of magical blood spilled is a terrible waste. I will command my forces to retreat. In their absence, dispose of your dead with dignity. Harry Potter, I now speak directly to you. On this night you have allowed your friends to die for you rather than face me yourself. There is no greater dishonour. Join me in the Forbidden Forest and confront your fate. If you do not do this I will kill every man, woman and child who tries to conceal you from me." Voldemort spoke to them.
"We need to go back inside." Parker wiped a tear that had escaped.
"Yeah.." Ron nodded slowly.
The Herd then returned to the castle, walking to the Great Hall. They found Erica sat outside, her knees close to her chest.
"Erica?" Ron walked to her, Parker quickly behind.
Erica looked up and reached out to Ron. She was just glad that he was okay.
Ron hugged her, sitting beside her,"What's wrong?"
"I couldn't save him..." Erica looked down,"Ron... Ron, Fred he's- He's gone."
"Fred?" Ron blinked, tearing up,"You're... You're sure?"
"I was there." Erica shook her head, holding Ron tighter as she started to cry.
Ron shook slightly as he hugged his sister.
"I'm sorry.."
"It's not your fault." Ron shook his head.
"I... But I was there.. What if I-"
"It's not your fault Erica, I promise."
Erica nodded slowly before turning to Parker,"Tonks... She didn't make it either... Neither did Lupin.."
Parker looked at Erica, looking down,"Oh god.."
Tonks and Lupin had just welcomed their son into the world. He was an orphan now.
"There's so many people, children too.."
"We have to stop this. I'm not letting anymore innocent people die." Harry shook his head.
"Maybe you could look in the pensive, see what Snape wanted you to see." Hermione told him.
"Yeah... I'll be back." Harry quickly sped off.
Erica watched Harry leave before she closed her eyes, still holding onto Ron
*********************************
After Harry had been to the pensive, he knew what he needed to do. He began walking to find his friends, his family..
"Harry, you're back." Ron gave a small smile.
"We thought you had gone to the forest and not told us." Hermione sighed while Parker held onto Erica.
"I'm going there now." Harry told her.
"Are you mad?" Parker scoffed,"You're not giving yourself up to him."
"Look, I know why I can hear them, the snakes and horcruxes. I've known for quite a while and I think you have too." Harry sighed.
"You're not going alone then."
"I have to." Harry shook his head,"Just kill the snake. Kill the snake and its just him."
Hermione slowly shook her head before she moved forward and hugged Harry. Harry hugged back as the whole group soon moved in to hug each other. Was this really how it had to end?
"We love you Harry... So much." Parker sighed.
"And- And I'll really miss you." Erica told him.
"I'll miss you all." Harry shook his head.
Ron patted his shoulder,"I'm glad we were friends."
Harry smiled softly, just staying in the embrace of his friends. But eventually, they had to let go. The hour was running out and he needed to leave them..
"I love you all of you." He nodded.
"And we love you." Hermione smiled.
"It's time for me to go." Harry stepped back.
"Bye.." Erica waved.
Harry looked at his friends one last time before he left. Erica quickly rubbed her eyes as she began tearing up. Parker turned to Erica and hugged her and Erica hugged onto Parker tightly.
"It's Harry's choice." Parker sighed.
"He's doing it for us, for evreyone... So we can be safe." Ron nodded slowly.
"I'm... Going to see if I can find any one of our friends that's still okay."
"Of course." Hermione nodded, taking Ron's hand.
"You wanna come or stay?" Parker looked at Erica.
"I'll come with you." Erica told her.
Parker nodded and walked with Erica, holding her hand. Erica squeezed Parker's hand as they walked, the school they'd grown up in now lay in ruins.
"Have you seen anyone?" Parker looked around.
"Not really." Erica shook her head.
Parker then spotted Blaise,"I'm gonna go talk to Blaise, I'll be back in a minute, 'kay?"
"Okay." Erica nodded, sitting against the wall.
Parker nodded slowly and walked over to Blaise,"Are you hurt?"
"No, no, I'm okay." Blaise shook his head,"What about yourself?"
"Just the stuff I already had." Parker sighed,"Snape's dead... Harry's away to give himself up."
"Seriously? He's giving himself up?" Blaise asked.
"He doesn't want anyone else to die." Parker looked out the window.
Blaise sighed and took her hand,"I'm glad you're okay."
Parker squeezed his hand, pulling it to her as she hugged his arm.
"Parker, can I... Ask you something?" Blaise asked her.
Parker looked up at him,"Mh?"
"Well, a lot has happened and I was just wondering... If you'd like to be my girlfriend?"
"Blaise.." Parker gave a small smile but... It slowly dropped. All she wanted was to be with Blaise but with everything going on... They couldn't.
Blaise could tell that something was wrong,"You don't want to?"
"No! No... I mean yes! But- Fuck Blaise." Parker sighed,"I've been wanting this since the Yule Ball... But with the war... My parents... If Voldemort wins, I need to hide. I can't risk having anyone that they could hurt. Especially not you." She gently held his cheek,"If somehow we win this and we both survive? Maybe there's something in the future for us, I promise."
"If there's the chance in the future, I'm willing to wait as long as I need to." Blaise smiled softly,"Do I get one last kiss?"
"Of course you do." Parker gave a small smile and kissed him.
Blaise kissed her back, gently stroking her hair.
Parker then slowly pulled away, putting a hand on his chest, "I love you, Blaise." She whispered.
"I love you too, Parker." Blaise smiled softly as he let go of her.
"Promise me you won't die. I can't lose another person I care about."
"I promise, darling." Blaise chuckled slightly.
Parker gave a small smile, turning around and walking back to Erica.
Erica got up from the pile of rubble she was sat on, brushing dirt off her legs,"Things go well?"
"Yes... And no." Parker sighed.
"No?" Erica raised a brow.
"Blaise... He asked me to be his girlfriend and I said no."
"You said no?" Erica blinked.
"With everything going on, mentally I just... I can't."
"I... Dont think I would've said yes either." Erica shook her head.
Parker sighed and took Erica's hand,"I'm always going to have you though."
"Of course you will." Erica smiled softly.
Parker smiled,"Let's see if we can find anyone else."
Erica nodded, taking Parker's hand once again. They walked for a bit, seeing their old classmates, some alive... Some dead. Erica closed her eyes as they passed and began walking quicker, she didn't want to see.
But Erica then saw Neville, sitting next to Luna. They were both okay. Erica looked towards Parker, letting go if her hand. She wanted to see Neville.
"I'll wait." Parker assured her as she stepped back.
Erica gave her a small smile before approaching him,"Hey."
"Hey, are you alright?" Neville stood up.
"I'm... I've been better." Erica sighed.
"I'm sorry...About Fred."
Erica looked down before she hugged Neville. Neville returned the hug, rubbing her back.
"I'm just glad you're okay." Erica told him.
"Course I'm okay." Neville chuckled.
"I wouldn't have let you not be okay." Erica sighed.
"If I got hurt, I know you'd come after me anyway." He pulled away,"I know... This is a horrible time but if I'm to die I want you to know something."
"What is it?" Erica asked him.
"I want you to know... That I've liked you for a really long time. And I know we've kissed and such but I want it to be more than that, I want- I would like it if you'd be my girlfriend."
Erica's heart sank, she wanted to be with him but she knew it wouldn't be fair,"I'd love to but.."
Neville sighed and looked down,"I understand, Erica. I do, really."
"No- You have to believe me, I love you. So much. But right now, I can't even trust myself to remember to eat. Things were getting bad before but now... I just need some time for myself and I promise, one day, I'll be yours." Erica looked into his eyes.
Neville smiled softly,"Until then, I'll still be your friend.
Erica gently held his cheek,"Just don't marry Hannah. If you do that, I'll hunt you down."
"Don't worry, I would never marry her." Neville laughed.
"You better not." Erica kissed his nose.
Neville smiled, leaning into her hand. Erica sighed softly, she didn't want to let go but she knew she had to.
"What do we do now? Wait for news?"
"I think so."
"You stay alive, you hear me?" He pointed.
"Do I get a choice?" Erica raised a brow.
"No. Or else I'll be hunting you down." He copied her.
"I'll try my best." Erica chuckled softly.
"Let's head out to the courtyard, some others are out there already. " Neville nodded.
Erica took his hand as everyone slowly began to walk out into the courtyard. There, outside, were quite a few of their friends, classmates. Parker was next to Draco and Blaise, talking to them while the Death Eaters began to pile in. Hagrid was with them, carrying something.
"Who is that Hagrid's carrying?" Ginny asked Erica,"Erica, who is it?"
"I can't see." Erica shook her head.
The rest of the Herd clumped together, together again with one missing.
"Harry Potter is dead!" Voldemort announced to everyone.
"No! No!" Ginny cried out and ran forward.
Erica quickly pulled her back, shielding her with her arm.
"Stupid girl." Voldemort then laughed,"Harry Potter is dead. From this day forth, you all should put your faith in me." He nodded, turning to his followers behind him,"Harry Potter is dead!"
The crowd defending Hogwarts stood in silence, disbelief as the Death Eaters laughed and chanted. Harry... Was really gone..
"Now! Now is the time to declare yourselves. Come forth and join us... Or die." Voldemort smirked.
The courtyard was silent until one voice rang out. Lucius.
"Draco! Draco, Parker." Lucius called to them, a hand outstretched.
Parker and Draco turned, looking towards their father. They weren't moving, everyone was staring.
That's when Narcissa spoke, her voice calm,"Draco, Parker. Come."
They couldn't leave their mother to suffer at the hands of Voldemort alone. So Draco stepped forward and walked over to his parents.
"Well done, Draco. Well done." Voldemort hugged Draco before guiding him towards his parents
Parker then looked between her friends and her family, looking down as she slowly followed behind her brother. As Parker and Draco headed over to the other side, Neville limped forward.
"Well, I must say I hoped for better." Voldemort laughed.
"It doesn't matter that Harry's dead." Neville shook his head, galring down Voldemort.
"Neville, stand down." Seamus stepped forward.
"People die everyday." Neville turned to the others,"Friends, family... Yeah, we lost Harry tonight. He's with us, so are Fred, Remus, Tonks, all of them. They didn't die in vain. But you will, because you're wrong. Harry's heart did beat for us, for all of us! It's not over!"
Neville then pulled the sword of Gryffindor from the Sorting Hat that was in his hand. Harry then jumped from Hagrid's arms, alive, as he ran over to the Hogwarts side of the battlefield.
"Now!" Parker ran forward with Draco.
"Potter!" Draco threw over his mother's wand that he had been using.
Harry caught it and fired a spell at Nagini,"Comfringo!"
Death Eaters began escaping while Voldemort began slinging spells at Harry. People at Hogwarts began to come together to fight one last battle.
Erica then turned, spotting a Death Eater she recognized. He was the one that caused the explosion... And he was the one she was going to kill. Augustus Rookwood. He was running inside with some other Death Eaters, although they had went another way so he was alone.
Erica hurried after Rockwood. She wanted him gone. He didn't deserve to get away with what he did. Rookwood was on his way to the Room of Requirement. Maybe the wardrobe was still there through the rubble and he thought he could get away?
"Hey, Rookwood!" Erica shouted at him as she ran.
Rockwood turned around, firing a spell her way. Erica stumbled back as the spell hit her but she shot one right back, collapsing the wall behind him.
The brick wall behind Rockwood crumbled, knocking him down flat and squashed him, killing him instantly. Erica let out a small sigh, resting against a broken pillar.
"Erica!" Parker quickly rushed over with her brother by her side.
"Parker?" Erica turned to her, holding her shoulder.
"Are you alright?"
"Eh, I'm fine. Rookwood hit me with something but I dealt with it." Erica shook her head.
"I can see that." Draco chuckled, looking towards the rubble.
"Dont even know what he threw at me."
"Well, you're not bleeding so far." Parker checked her over.
"Then I'm fine."
"I don't know, your face still looks messed up." Draco joked.
"I could say the same for you, but that's just how you look." Erica shrugged.
Draco gave a small chuckle, the two had never really gotten along... Maybe there might be a small friendship forming there.
"Parker, I think the stress has broken him." Erica whispered,"He's laughing at my joke."
"He's going crazy." Parker nudged Draco.
"Hey- Is it that weird that I'm being nice?" Draco rolled his eyes.
"Yes. Yes, it is." Erica nodded.
"Very weird." Parker agreed.
"Come on, I was nice to you, uh.."
"Yeah? I'll wait."
"Well, there was that time.." Draco crossed his arms.
"See Parker, he can barely remember a time where he was nice to me."
"There was that time at the Manor when I knew you snuck in and didn't say anything." Draco nodded.
"Wow, one time." Erica clapped,"You're a great guy, you know that?"
"Look- I know I'm a dick but that's just the way I am." Draco sighed.
"He's a big softie underneath." Parker smiled,"You should see how he's like with Astoria."
"I don't think I want to." Erica shook her head,"I overheard something once that I'd rather not recall."
"Tell me about it." Parker rolled her eyes.a
"Let's uh.. Go back, yeah?"
"Yeah." Draco quickly nodded, turning around.
"Weird guy." Erica shook her head as they began heading back towards the Great Hall.
Everyone ran back to the Great Hall, where the fighting was happening once again. Bellatrix was in there, seeing Erica so she decided to fire a killing curse her way. Erica barely had time to react before Molly stepped in front of her, blocking it.
"Not my daughter, you bitch!" Molly fired a spell at Bellatrix, freezing her.
"And especially not my best friend!" Parker spat, throwing Reducto towards Bellatrix which caused her to explode into little pieces.
"Hey, good job." Erica smiled at her.
"Holy shit, I just killed my mother." Parker turned to Erica.
"And your greatest enemy." Erica hummed.
Parker pointed,"Couldn't let her kill you."
"Aw, thanks."
Parker smiled softly,"We need to find Ron and Hermione."
"Wherever they are" Erica nodded, looking around.
"Come on." Parker ran off with Erica.
They then saw Hermione and Ron running down the stairs, being chased by Nagini as they threw rocks at her.
"Oh shit." Parker cursed as they sped up.
Nagini cornered them, the couple holding onto each other as Nagini went to strike. That's when Neville ran up with the Sword of Gryffindor, slicing Nagini in half.
"Nice one, Neville." Ron let out a sigh of relief.
"I'm proud of you." Erica smiled as she walked up to him.
"Is that the last horcrux?" Neville turned to Erica.
"I think so." She nodded.
"Where's Harry?" Hermione stood up.
"He's still out there with Voldemort." Ron pointed.
"We need to go out there. Parker nodded, the Herd walking out.
Voldemort had grown weaker. His last horcrux. Gone. That's when Harry and Voldemort threw one last spell at each other. Avada Kedavra VS Expelliarmus. Evil VS Good. The winner of the duel was bound to be found soon... The Elder Wand then flew from Voldemort's hand and straight into Harry's.
It was then that Voldemort fell to the ground, unmotivated. Dead. He was... Finally gone.
"We won!" People began to cheer.
"It's over.." Erica smiled softly.
"Oh my god." Parker laughed and hugged Erica.
Erica hugged back,"We're free!"

After everything had calmed down, the Herd walked to the end of the bridge. The damage to the school was extreme, almost completely in ruins.
"Why didn't it work for him? The Elder Wand?" Hermione asked.
"It's a bit complicated... The wand is owned by whoever disarms it's last master, not kills. Draco disarmed Dumbledore and I disarmed him. Therefore, I was the wand's true master." Harry looked at the wand in his hand.
"So, what should we do with it?" Rom asked.
"Erica?" Harry looked at her.
"Hm? Oh." Erica nodded and took the fragments of Harry's broken wand out of her pocket, handing them to him.
Harry took them, placing them on the broken wall and put his wand back together with the Elder Wand.
"Now what?" Ron raised a brow.
"Now?" Harry snapped the Elder Wand and threw it off the edge.
"It can't hurt anyone anymore." Erica smiled softly.
"To new beginnings." Parker smiled, the Herd hugging each other.
