Chapter 34 - The Order of the Phoenix
After Christmas and New Year, the Herd went back to Hogwarts. They were walking in the courtyard when Harry ran up to them.
"Hagrid's back." Harry smiled,"Let's head down."
"Sounds great." Ron nodded.
"Come on." Parker hummed and walked down to Hagrid's hut, knocking on the door.
Hagrid opened the door to them,"Hello, you lot. Not been getting into too much trouble, have you?"
"Where have you been?" Hermione smiled.
"Oh, I was doing a job with the Order." Hagrid told her,"Work with giants."
"You found the giants?" Ron asked while they walked in, sitting down.
"Did so." Hagrid nodded,"I don't think it went well though, not sure if they're with us."
"I can tell. The scars on your face tell us that." Harry pointed.
"We did try." Hagrid sighed.
"You did your best, that's all you could do." Erica told him.
"Besides, I needed to stay there to look after Grawp?" Hagrid shook his head.
"Sorry, who?' Ron blinked.
"I shouldn't not have said that... I shouldn't have said that-"
"Hagrid. Who is Grawp?" Hermione asked him.
"Oh, he's my... He's my half brother." Hagrid sighed,"He got the full giant while I didn't."
"Well, if you take care of him, where is he?" Harry asked.
"Nowhere. Don't you worry about it." He pointed,"You all better get back before that Umbridge catches you."
"She won't." Erica sighed as she got up.
"Be careful." Hagrid nodded.
"We will, don't worry." Hermione assured him as they all started walking back to the castle.

After the feast and all of the announcements, the Herd and friends were at the Gryffindor table talking when Neville walked up with a newspaper in his hand.
"What's in the paper, Neville?" Hermione asked him, noticing his nervousness.
"I... Look." Neville handed her the paper.
Bellatrix Lestrange along with a lot of Azkabans prisoners had escaped. It was the headline... Everywhere.
"Oh dear.." Erica shook her head before hugging him,"I won't let her hurt you."
Neville smiled softly and hugged her.
"I can try and spy on Draco, he's closer with my parents so he might know something about her." Parker added.
"You've got a scary resemblance though, Parker." Ron held the paper up to her, showing the curls and the streak was the same.
"Don't say that, Ron." Hermione sighed,"They're related, of course They're going to look similar."
"She could be your mum." Ron joked.
"Not funny." Parker slapped his arm.
"Yeah... Not funny." Erica shook her head.
"I have an idea for the DA meeting tomorrow." Harry looked around, making sure no one heard.
"An idea?"
"Patronus charms."
"Good idea.' Hermione nodded.
"It will help us, especially if we're going to be getting attacked." Harry looked at them.
"Is that our mission for tonight?" Erica asked.
"Yeah. Just take our usual precautions." Harry nodded.
"Of course."
"I'll see you all later. It's getting late." Ron nodded.
"See you later, guys." Erica sighed, walking off.
*********************************
"Blaise!' Parker ran up to him.
"Parker?" Blaise turned around.
"Hi." Parker smiled,"How was your Christmas?"
"Oh, it was alright. What about you?' Blaise asked her.
"I spent it with the others." Parker gestured to the Herd.
"Did you have fun?"
"Mostly." Parker hummed.
"I did too." Blaise smiled.
"Do you know where Draco is?"
"Uh... I think I saw him heading to the library? Maybe with Astoria?"
"Of course." Parker nodded,"I'm gonna go. I'll see you later, yeah?"
"Of course." Blaise assured her.
"Bye Blaise." Parker waved and ran to the Room of Requirement.
"Bye Parker." Blaise called after her.
"Howdy, hey." Parker hummed once she was inside.
"Nice of you to join us." Ron turned to her.
"Sorry, I was talking to Blaise. Draco's in the library so we can practice safely." Parker nodded.
"Good." Hermione smiled,"Harry?"
"Alright. Everyone take out your wand and... Think of a powerful memory, the happiest you can remember... Allow it to fill you up." Harry began walking around,"Expecto Patronum."
Erica closed her eyes. She thought of her family, all of them together at Christmas. They were all happy then..
"Expecto Patronum." And just like that, a spectral racoon flew put of her wand.
That's when Ron's patronus ran after the raccoon. His was a Jack Russel Terrier.
"Can... Can Patronuses eat each other?" Erica looked around.
"No." Parker shook her head while she pointed her wand, thinking of her friends... The happy memories she had of them,"Expecto Patronum."
That's when a small red panda flew out of the wand and jumped, having it's paws up in the air.
"Oh my goodness, that is so cute." Erica covered her mouth.
"They can be friends." Parler laughed, watching the raccoon and red panda.
Erica chuckled before turning to Neville, seeing hin struggling.
"I'll get it." Neville nodded as he squinted.
"I know you will." Erica walked up to him, taking his free hand.
Hermione's patronus was an otter, Luna's was a hare, the twins both had magpies and Ginny had a horse.
Neville closed his eyes,"Expecto Patronum."
He thought of the happiest memory he had but only some mist came out.
"You're almost there.' Erica kissed his cheek, trying to be discreet about it.
"I'm honestly trying but it's not... It's not working." Neville looked at her.
"Hey, the fact that you're trying and able to produce something is amazing." Erica told him,"It's a difficult spell, nobody gets it right the first time."
Neville smiled softly,"Thanks, Erica."
Everyone stopped talking as the lights flickered, the whole room was shaking and the Patronuses faded. Nigel slowly walked up to the door but Parker had ran after him, peering out the keyhole.
"Oh no... Everyone get back!" Parker shouted, pulling Nigel with her and covered his head as the wall behind them blew up.
As the dust settled around them, they could see exactly who had done this... Umbridge. She was stood with her Inquisitorial Squad and a smile on her face
Draco had a hold of a girl, Marietta Edgecombe. She was Cho's friend and only came to a few meetings. She had ratted them out... The reason they knew was because Hermione jinxed the parchment paper everyone signed. She had 'Sneak' written in pimples over her face.
"Get them." Umbride ordered to her Inquisitorial Squad.
One by one, the Herd were grabbed by the Inquisitorial Squad members and practically dragged to Dumbledore's Office where Cornelius Fudge, Kingsley Shacklebolt and... Percy, were waiting for them.
"Minister, I told you! Dumbledores Army." Umbridge tutted, holding up the parchment paper with everyone's names,"We saw your lies for what they were, a smokescreen for your bid to seize control of the Ministry."
"Professor, it wasn't him! It was us, all of us." Harry shook his head.
"I appreciate you trying to protect me, Harry but the parchment clearly says 'Dumbledore's Army', not 'Potter's Army." Dumbledore shook his head.
"Dawlish, Shacklebolt. You will escort Dumbledore to Azkaban to await trial for conspiracy and sedition-" Fudge began to order.
"Excuse me, Minister. I actually have no intentions of heading to Azkaban." Dumbledore interjected, raising his hands above his head.
"Wh-"
Fawkes the phoenix came flying down and they burst into flames... Then both Dumbledore and Fawkes were gone..
"I know you hate to admit it, Minister but you cannot deny it. Dumbledore has style." Kingsley snapped his fingers, the Herd recognised him from the Order so they knew he was good.
"This may not be the right time, but are you lot going to let us go now?" Erica asked
"Oh, you can go but don't think I'm finished with you lot." Umbridge giggled.
Percy was holding onto Erica, roughly pushing her away... How could he be so different?
Erica looked back at Percy as her and the Herd left the office. There were so many things she wanted to say to him... But she didn't. He wouldn't care.
"What are we going to do now?" Ron rubbed his neck.
"Somehow get rid of Umbridge." Erica sighed, hugging onto Ron.
"Percy shouldn't have been rough with you." Ron rubbed his sister's back.
"He's just so... Different."
"The Ministry got into his head." Parker shook her head.
"I tried to get him to stay but he- I know it's not his fault." Erica sighed.
"He'll come around." Hermione assured her.
"I just want him to come home."
"Let's just... It's late. I think we should head to bed." Harry admitted.
"Right." Ron nodded.
"I'll see you all tomorrow." Parker sighed.
"Goodnight." Erica waved to them as she walked off.
*********************************
The next few weeks were hell for everyone, especially the Army. But now it was time for the exam, they had little to no knowledge however here they were...
Mostly everyone had finished the exam and were sitting back in their seats. The pendulum in front of them swung back and forth as the time ticked down and Umbridge stood at the front.
That's when a rumble could be heard from outside the doors. Umbridge tilted her head at the rumble before she began to walk down the rows of teenagers, walking to the doors.
Just as she opened the doors, Fred and George flew in on their brooms, letting off fireworks. Their exam papers went everywhere, all muddled up as they flew out the room, students following after them.
The twins created nothing but chaos in their wake, destroying Umbridge's wall of rules.
"Did you know they were planning this?" Parker laughed as she looked at Erica.
"Obviously I did, but it was a surprise." Erica nudged her.
"It's a great suprise." She nodded.
"You're welcome."
"Let's go!" Parker grabbed her hand and ran to the courtyard with the other students.
"Going." Erica chuckled as she looked up at the sparkling 'W' in the sky.
The Herd stood together while Harry held his scar and that was never good.
"Harry-" Ron caught him as Harry stumbled back.
"They have Sirius." Harry shook his head.
"Who has Sirius?" Hermione turned to him.
"Voldemort." Harry muttered.
Harry then turned and ran off, the rest of the Herd, Ginny, Neville and Luna quickly following after him.
"You guys go to the fireplace in Umbridge's office. We'll join you after, we're going to distract them." Neville nodded to the Herd as they split off.
The Herd hurried into Umbridge's empty office and Harry knelt by the fireplace.
"You lot stay here.' Harry told them.
"Are you mental? We're not letting you go alone." Parker scoffed.
"You can't put yourselves at risk-"
"Being friends with you is a risk on its own, Harry." Erica sighed
"We're in this together." Ron nodded.
"That you are."
The familiar voice of evil was heard from behind them, the Herd turned around to meet Umbridge and her Squad.
They were all grabbed again, although this time Harry was pushed into the chair.
"Come on, let us go." Erica sighed, still trying to free herself.
"You were going to go to Dumbledore, weren't you?" Umbridge pointed at Harry.
"No-"
Umbridge slapped him,"Stop. Lying."
"He's telling the truth." Hermione shook her head.
"I know he isn't, you're all liars." Umbridge glared at them,"And I will get the truth, even if I have to beat it out of you."
"Maybe a curse." Filch butted in
That's when Snape appeared in the doorway,"You wished to see me, Professor Umbridge?"
"It's Headmistress." Umbride corrected,"The time has come for answers, whether they like it or not. Have you brought the vetriaserum?"
"Unfortunately, we ran out. The last was used on Miss Edgecombe."
Harry looked towards Snape,"Padfoot. He's got Padfoot in the place where it's hidden."
"Padfoot? Snape, what is Padfoot?" Umbridge asked quickly.
Snape stayed quiet before turning,"I have absolutely no idea."
Parker looked between them,"We'll tell you about Dumbledore's secret weapon."
"Parker, what are you-" Ron began.
"We know where it's hidden." Hermione sighed.
"Take me then. Take me to it." Umbridge ordered.
"Of course, Headmistress." Harry nodded.
"But we can only do it alone." Hermione added.
"Fine, just take me to it."
The Herd then lead Umbridge out towards the Forbidden Forest, walking deep into it.
"Well? Where is this 'secret weapon'?"
"We're nearly there." Parker sighed.
"You'll know it when you see it." Erica assured her.
That's when in the distance they saw the Centaurs approach.
Umbridge took a step forward and an arrow was fired at her,"Filthy half-breed, you could've killed me!"
With a flick of her wand, a rope was around the centaur's neck.
Firenze, who the Herd remembered from their early years charged towards Umbridge, grabbing her at one side and another centaur grabbing her other.
"Release me!" Umbridge struggled,"Children, tell them I mean no harm!"
"I am sorry, Professor. But we must not tell lies." Erica smiled at her as Umbridge was dragged away, kicking and screaming.
Neville, Luna and Ginny finally caught up to the others, after escaping the Inquisitorial squad.
"How are we going to get to the Ministry now?" Neville panted.
"I think I have an idea." Luna hummed.
Luna then lead everyone to the Thestrals, even though not everyone could see them, they felt them when they sat down.
"Woah, this is... A strange experience." Ron shook his head.
"It's like you're floating." Hermione laughed as they flew off.
"Aren't you lot glad Luna's our friend?" Erica asked.
"Just as long as I don't fall off." Neville shook his head.
"Just hold on, you'll be alright." Luna smiled.
Soon enough they landed in London at night time so it was easy enough to sneak into the Ministry and into the Prophecy room.
"Right, we're here." Ron looked around,"Which one are we looking for?"
"Around here.." Harry turned around.
"Harry- There are so many around here, what do you mean?" Erica sighed, looking at the orbs.
"This one has your name on it." Neville pointed.
"Good eye, Nev." Ginny nodded to him as Harry walked over.
"Now we can find Sirius." Ron let out a sigh of relief as they heard footsteps.
"Everyone, get behind me." Harry took out his wand, staring down the dark corridor.
"You know you should really know the difference between dreams." A Death Eater spoke, taking off his mask off to reveal Lucius,"And reality."
"Oh, of course it's you." Erica rolled her eyes.
Everyone pointed their wands at him as he got closer.
"You only saw what the Dark Lord wanted you to see. Just give me the prophecy." Lucius held his hand up.
"Come any closer and we'll break it." Parker threatened.
"Oh, I don't think you will." Lucius shook his head.
That's when they heard another voice,"Look at them, acting so brave."
"Bellatrix Lestrange." Neville whispered.
"Neville Longbottom, is it? How's mum and dad?" Bellatrix smirked as she approached.
"Better now that they're about to be avenged." Neville spoke in confidence.
"Oh, how cute." Bellatrix giggled.
Lucius cleared his throat,"The Prophecy, please."
"Why did Voldemort need me to get this?" Harey shook his head.
"A Prophecy can only be collected by the person that uts about." Lucius told him
"You dare to speak his name, you flithy Half-Blood?" Bellatrix pointed her wand.
"We're not afraid of him or either of you." Parker shook her head.
"Guys, I have a plan." Erica whispered.
They all listened into Erica.
"Haven't you always wondered about the connection between you and the Dark Lord? Why he was unable to kill you when you were just a poor infant? Don't you want to know the secret behind your scar? All the answers are there... If you'd just give us the Prophecy." Lucius sighed.
"Y'know, my friends and I have a better idea." Harry shook his head.
"Stupefy!" Erica aimed her wand at Lucius, sending him flying back,"Now run!"
Lucius quickly apparated away to get the Prophecy as the group split up. The Golden Trio went one way, Ginny and Luna another and Neville and Erica another way... However Parker had gotten separated from everyone as she ran.
"Aw, how sad. You're all alone... With me."
Parker stopped and turned around to meet Bellatrix, face to face.
"I'm glad we finally meet properly, Auntie."
"Oh, you can drop the whole 'auntie' thing, Parker." Bellatrix shook her head, "You know we're more than that."
It was true. There was always a speculation that Parker wasn't a Malfoy... But now looking at Bellatrix in the face she could tell.
"..Mother." Parker gripped her wand tighter.
"Daughter." Bellatrix smirked.
"You'll never be my real mother." Parker shook her head before pointing her wand,"Levicorpus!" She ran off after blasting Bellatrix back.
Erica rounded the corner, out of breath and spotted Parker,"Hey, over here!"
Parker panted,"I just- Oh my god."
"What- What is it?" Erica asked.
"Bellatrix- She's my mother."
"Yeah, I-" Erica sighed,"I knew. I knew, Parker."
"Well... I'm glad you never told me." Parker sighed.
"I'm sorry, they all made me promise- Wait, what?" Erica blinked.
"I'm glad you never told me."
"You're... Not mad at me?"
"No." Parker shook her head,"I'd much rather not have known."
Erica quickly hugged Parker.
Parker hugged back,"We need to go." She felt someone watching them.
"Yeah- This way." Erica grabbed her arm and started running.
The two sprinted until they caught up with the others. Ginny had used a spell to knock down some of the prophecies to try and distract the Death Eaters. Luna stared up at the walls of prophecies as they fell, the shelves tumbling over.
"Luna!" Neville grabbed her hand and pulled her along.
At the end of the hall was a door which Harry pushed open and... They all fell through. They ended up hovering just above the ground for a second before they fell, hitting the ground.
"Ow." Ron cursed.
"Where the hell are we now?" Erica looked around.
"An empty room with a stone." Ginny pointed to the large stone in the middle of the room.
"Can you all hear that?" Harry asked slowly.
"I can." Parker nodded.
Voices. They could hear some whispers from the stone.
"I can hear them too." Luna smiled.
"I can't." Ron sighed.
"Ron, it's probably a thestral situation." Hermione shook her head.
"Well? Now what? What's special about this place?" Erica continued looking around.
Harry looked around,"Get behind me!"
The group looked around before hurrying behind Harry as dark clouds began flying round them. No one could see anything. That was until they were all individually grabbed by a Death Eater as the smoke cleared.
"There." Lucius walked up to Harry,"Give me the Prophecy now... Or all your friends die."
"Don't give it to him, Harry!" Neville shouted.
"Quiet." Bellatrix pulled his head back, her wand at his neck.
"Hey, don't touch him!" Erica glared at Bellatrix.
"Got yourself a girlfriend, Longbottom?" Bellatrix laughed.
Harry took a moment to think, slowly handing the prophecy over to Lucius
"Good boy." Lucius smirked as he took it, turning as someone appeared behind him.
"Get away from my godson." Sirius said with a smile, before punching Lucius.
Some white lights came, flying around. The Order was here to save them! They had managed to get the Death Eaters off the teenagers. Tonks had grabbed the girls and Lupin has grabbed the boys.
Once they'd gotten to a safe distance, they looked up to Harry and Sirius, dueling Bellatrix and Lucius side by side.
"We have to help them." Parker shook her head.
"It's too dangerous." Lupin shook his head.
"They'll kill them." Hermione looked at Lupin.
Lupin sighed,"I'll see what I can do."
Parker stood up and went to run forward when Bellatrix fired a spell at Sirius. Lupin held her back as Sirius... Fell backwards. He fell through the mist and was gone..
Harry screamed for Sirius, Bellatrix laughing as she ran away,"I killed Sirius Black!"
Parker broke free from Lupin and quickly sprinted after her mother.
"Parker, no!" Erica hurried after her, she didn't want her to get hurt.
Harry ran after the girls, running for Bellatrix. He wanted revenge.
"Crucio!" Harry shot a spell at Bellatrix, just missing Erica.
Bellatrix fell to the floor, giggling to herself. Bellatrix enjoyed the pain, she enjoyed hurting others and hurting herself.
"He was your family!" Parker pointed her wand at Bellatrix.
"But I'm also your family. Do you really want to hurt me?" Bellatrix smirked up at her.
"Parker, you need to stay calm." Erica shook her head.
That's when a chill went through the trio, Bellatrix laughed and crawled backwards into the fireplace.
"You have to mean it, Harry." Came a whisper from behind.
Harry turned around, only to meet Voldemort face to face. Erica grabbed onto Parker as Voldemort stepped closer to Harry... But someone else appeared from the fire... Dumbledore.
Dumbledore used his magic to push the kids back behind a pillar before he casted a spell at Voldemort. Voldemort glared at Dumbledore, creating a snake of fire from his wand.
Dumbledore waved his wand at the snake, making it hit the ceiling and letting it crumble and fall on top of it. He then began to manipulate the water from the fountain, containing Voldemort inside of it.
Voldemort thrashed about, breaking the windows in the Ministry and sending the glass in the direction of Dumbledore. He knew he couldn't win this fight, so he quickly apparated away.
That's when Harry fell to the ground and started shaking. Voldemort hadn't left.
"Harry, you aren't him." Erica shook her head.
"You've lost, old man." Voldemort spoke from Harry, he had possessed him.
Dumbledore looked down at Harry, kneeling close to him, "Harry. You're in there, I know you are."
Harry began getting flashbacks of the Herd from all his past years at the school. His friends, his family. The people he loved..
"You will lose everything." Voldemort spoke to Harry.
"No... Yu'll lose everything... Because I have people to fight for, people I love. That's something you'll never have. And I feel sorry for you." Harry argued.
Voldemort looked down at him, shaking his head. He then turned and... He was seen by Cornelius Fudge, along with a few of his underlings before disappearing. Erica could see Percy and just she stared at him.
"Erica.." Parker put a hand on her shoulder.
"The Dark Lord... He's back." Fudge finally admitted.
