Chapter 3 - First Fight

They walked outside and down the hill and soon reached Hagrid's hut.

"So why are we here?" Ron asked.

"Hagrid invited me over." Harry told him,"And you asked to come along."

"Alright." Ron nodded.

Harry then knocked on Hagrid's door.

"Get back Fang, get back!" Hagrid sighed from inside.

There was some crashes heard from inside before Hagrid appeared at the door, holding his dog by the collar.

"Make yourself at home." Hagrid sighed as he let them in, closing the door behind them and letting go of Fang.

"It's a very nice place you've got, Hagrid." Erica told him.

"Thank you Erica." Hagrid nodded at her.

Erica smiled and looked down at the rock cakes. They did not look appealing.

"Would any of you like one?" Hagrid asked.

"S-sure." Erica nodded, not wanting to upset him,"Right, Ron?"

"Of course." Ron nodded slowly.

Erica tried eating one but it was impossible to bite through.

"Good, ain't they?" Hagrid laughed.

"Amazing." Erica smiled, slipping her's into her pockets discreetly.

"So how was your first day?" He asked them all.

"I enjoyed it but I think I'm going to arrange a meeting later." Erica answered.

"A meeting with who?" Hagrid raised a brow.

"Malfoy,"

"And why is that?

"Because he's the worst."

"Well, that I can agree on." Hagrid nodded.

"So is Snape." Harry pointed.

"I'm sorry about loosing you guys that point, but it was quite funny."

"Next time I'll be losing you a point." Ron threatened his sister.

"Not my fault that Snape assumed was a Gryffindor." Erica shrugged, holding up her yellow tue, "I'm clearly wearing the right tie."

"I can clearly see that too. Snape's just a bit daft."

"And deaf."

"That he is." Hagrid nodded.

That's when Harry noticed a cutting of a newspaper, The Daily Prophet. The headline being, 'Gringotts Break In Latest!'

"Oh, what's that?" Erica began reading over his shoulder.

"Just the Daily Prophet. Word is Gringotts was broken into." Hagrid sighed.

"Hang on, that happened on my birthday." Harry pointed.

"How odd.." Ron nodded slowly.

"What's the time, Hagrid?" Harry asked.

"Hm, around 5:30, I'd say." He turned to a homemade clock.

"We need to get back." Harry sighed.

"Do we really have to?" Erica asked hopefully.

"Unless you want actual points taken from you." Ron crossed his arms.

"Fair enough." Erica got up,"We'll come see you again another day, Hagrid."

"Oh! Take some rock cakes with you." Hagrid pushed the plate towards them.

"T-thanks Hagrid." Erica forced a smiled and picked up too more,"You're so kind, you shouldn't have."

"We'll give some to our friends." Ron nodded.

Erica nodded as she slowly backed away. She was definitely going to throw them at Draco.

"Have a nice night." Harry waved before they left.

"Blaise! Hi." Parker smiled as she walked into the Great Hall.

"Oh, Parker, hi!" He set down his book.

"How are you?" Parker walked up to him,"Can I sit?"

"Of course you can." He patted a spot beside him.

"Thanks." Parker smiled and sat down beside him.

"So, how's things been?" Blaise asked her.

"Alright, guess." Parker shrugged,"Settling in."

"It does take some getting used to, I'll admit." Blaise chuckled,"Sharing a room with three other boys is... Strange."

"Oh, I know." Parker sighed,"I have Pansy Parkinson as my roommate."

"Good luck." Blaise held back a laugh.

"She's horrible so far." Parker hummed.

"How so? I dread to think."

"She's practically taken up my side of the bedroom already. Next thing I know she'll be in my bed."

"Let's hope it doesn't come to that." Blaise shook his head.

"Better not." Parker crossed her arms.

"I take it your classes have been good?" Blaise raised a brow.

"They've been alright." Parker shrugged,"By the way... I'm not like Draco, I'm not mean."

"I did, y'know, sort of gather that." Blaise nodded slowly,"And I'm not like his other goons, honest."

Parker smiled a little,"I can see that."

Blaise smiled back, sitting his book down,"Do you have any hobbies?"

Parker thought for a second,"I like baking. I don't get much time to do it at home."

"Maybe we could try and convince the elves to let us try in the kitchen sometimes." Blaise suggested.

"Maybe. I do make a mean strawberry puff." Parker pointed.

"Ooh, what's that?" Blaise cocked his head to the side,"They sound really nice."

"It's these pastries with strawberry, cream and this sweet strawberry sauce mixed in. Its really good. If I'm feeling nice, I add little chocolate chips." Parker hummed.

"You're making me hungry now." Blaise chuckled.

"They're really good, trust me." Parker smiled.

"Oh, I do."

"Maybe we can bake them one day." Parker nodded.

"I'd like that." Blaise smiled at her.

Parker hummed and looked at him,"What are you reading?"

"A History of Magic, Draco lent me it." He showed her.

"He stole it from me." Parker rolled her eyes.

"Oh, do you want it back?" Blaise asked.

"No! No, you can keep it." Parker assured him.

"Are you sure?" He raised a brow.

"I'll get it once you've finished it."

"I'm nearly done, don't worry."

"I don't mind." Parker hummed.

"Well, thanks." Blaise smiled,"I like reading, it's calming."

"Isn't it?" Parker agreed.

"Very."

"I enjoy it too." Parker hummed,"Do you like anything else?"

"Well, I don't do much else but Quidditch is fun."

"Are you going to try out later in the years?"

"Oh, definitely." Blaise replied.

"What position do you think you'll go for?" Parker turned to him more, she was definitely interested in this conversation.

"Hm, I'm not sure actually. I think I'd fancy being a Chaser." He answered,"What about you?"

"I'd love to do it, I don't think I could though. But if I had a position I'd want to be... I like the idea of a chaser too." Parker hummed.

"Oh, no worries. I'm sure I could help you practice." Blaise added.

"I'll hold you to that." Parker smiled.

Blaise smiled back at his friend.

"... So why are you here alone?" Parker looked at him.

"Ah, well, Draco was meant to meet me here but I haven't seen him." Blaise explained.

"He's always late. Little hint, if he says meet at a certain time, leave about... Fifteen minutes later."

"Stop running away, you coward!"

Parker looked at Blaise then the hall.

"Get away from me, you freak!"

"Oh dear." Blaise sighed as he turned around,"Isn't that your friend?"

"Yeah." Parker nodded and went to ignore it before she got up,"Merlin, it's my friend beating up my brother!"

She clapped excitedky and ran off.

"Hey- Wait for me!" Blaise ran after her.

"Erica?!" Parker looked for her.

Erica could be seen throwing rock cakes directly at Draco.

"What the..." Parker blinked.

"That's what you get, you little snake!" She threw another.

"Get away!" Draco pointed.

"Not a chance!"

"Erica?" Parker walked up.

"Huh? Oh- Parker." Erica stepped back.

"What's going on?"

"A fight." She answered.

"Why?"

"Because your brother is a In asshole." Erica cursed.

"Very true." Parker hummed and held her hand out for one.

"You can thank Hagrid for these, they're inedible!" Erica tossed her a rock cake.

"Dray?" Parker called out.

"What!?" He looked up at her.

Parker threw a rock cake at him.

"Ow- The fuck!?"

"Enough of that language!" Parker pointed.

"Ha!" Erica pointed at him.

"Don't be mean to my friend!" Parker shouted.

"Exactly, don't be mean to me." Erica agreed.

Draco flipped them off and stormed off.

"Bye~" Erica waved.

"That was cool." Blaise chuckled.

"Where did you come from?" Erica jumped.

"Oh, Blaise was with me." Parker smiled.

"Well, it's nice to meet you Blaise." Erica nodded to him.

"Nice to meet you too." Blaise hummed.

"Well, I'd best start running before he gets Snape on me." Erica sighed.

"Thanks, Parker." Erica smiled.

"I'll defend you." Parker assured her.

"Anytime. See you around?"

"See you around." Erica nodded, jogging off down the hall.

"That's my friend." Parker smiled to Blaise.

"She's... Well, she's something."

"I know." Parker nodded,"I like her."

"Me too."

"Really?" Parker hummed.

"Really, she seems fun." Blaise nodded.

"At least you think so."

"Hm?"

"Draco doesn't like her." She sighed.

"Draco doesn't like anyone." Blaise shook his head.

"That, is true." Parker smiled.

"Of course it is."

*********************************

"Mail!" Ron pointed as the owls flew into the hall.

"We're not gonna have anything." Erica shrugged.

"We might." Ron pointed.

"Whatever you say." Erica shrugged.

A few birds flew above them, although one dropped something in front of Neville.

"Ooh, Nev, what have you got?" Erica leaned over.

"I don't know." Neville raised a brow and picked it up.

When he opened it, he took out what seemed to be a glass ball filled with misty, white smoke.

"It's a Remembrall." Neville shrugged,"Gran knows forget things, this tells you if there's something you've forgotten to do. Look, you hold it tight like this and if it turns red-"

He stopped as the Remembrall suddenly glowed a deep red.

"So... You've forgotten something."

"I can't remember what." Neville shook his head.

"I'm sure you'll figure it out." Erica patted his shoulder.

"It's probably something silly."

Parker shrugged. That's when Draco walked over, snatching it out of Neville's hands.

"Hey!" Harry and Ron shot up.

"Tch, what?" Draco scoffed.

"Give it back."

"And why should I?"

"Because its not yours, Malfoy." Harry spat.

"Oh yeah?" Draco tossed it up and caught it.

"Draco." Parker shot up.

Draco took a step back, slightly surprised but at the same time, not, by Parker's reaction.

"Stop being an asshole to my friends and give Neville his gift back." Parker pointed at him.

"I'm not listening to you." Draco glared at her.

"Give it back."

"No!"

"You-" Parker went to jump across the table.

"What's going on here?" McGonagall was suddenly beside them.

"Nothing Professor." Parker sat down,"My brother has Neville's gift."

"He's got my remembrall, Professor." Neville agreed.

"I'm just looking." Draco dropped it onto the table, shrugging as he walked away.

"Look with your eyes then." Erica called after him.

"Idiot." Parker sat down and handed Neville the Remembrall back.

"Thanks, Parker." Neville smiled.

"Try and ignore my brother." Parker smiled.

"And if he bugs you, I'll fight him again." Erica added.

"Again?" Ron sat up.

"I threw rock cakes at him." Erica smiled.

Ron sighed and sat down,"Erica."

"He deserved it." Erica crossed her arms.

"Just be careful." Neville shook his head.

"I always am." Erica put her hands on her hips.

Neville gave a small smile and sat down.

"Well, I suppose we should start getting ready for later." Erica sighed.

"What's happening later?" Ron spoke with his mouth full.

"Flying lessons." Hermione sighed.

"I can't wait!" Erica clapped her hands.

"I'm terrified." Neville shivered.

"I'm terrified." Neville shivered.

"Aw, I'm sure you'll do great Erica assured him.

"Hopefully." Neville sighed.

Erica knew that Neville was prone to having... Uh, accidents even when both his feet were on the ground but... She had faith!
