Chapter 14 - Friend of Stone

Parker finally got back to the Slytherin Common Room, sitting down on the couch. Blaise soon walked in, book in hand, the one Parker had gotten him

"Oh, hi Blai- Blaise!" Parker shot up, remembering what she needed to do.

Blaise chuckled,"Hey Parker, what's gotten you so excited to see me?"

"Oh- Well I just... Wanted to know what you think of the book."

"Oh, it's great! I haven't finished it though."

"Well why don't you come and talk to me about it?" Parker sat up.

"Sure." Blaise smiled.

Parker patted the seat beside her. Blaise sat next to her, placing the book on his lap.

"So... What do you think of it?"

"It is amazing, I've barely been able to put it down!"

"Really?"

"Really."

"Hey... I have a question."

"Go on?"

"You know how you're friends with my brother?"

"Yes?" Blaise nodded slowly.

"I was wondering... Has he ever mentioned the Chamber?"

"I mean, in passing." Blaise shrugged,"I reckon he's blaming Potter."

"But Harry hasn't did anything." Parker shook her head

"I mean, obviously. It's Harry Potter, I hardly think he's Slytherin's Heir."

"Someone is setting him up."

"I have, uh, tried to have words with Draco. He's, how can I put this, hard to convince?"

"You're just realising that now?" Parker smiled.

"I haven't tried to convince him of much." Blass sighed.

"Trust me, I've had years of practice."

"He's so stubborn."

"I know." Parker smiled,"I was so annoyed with him one time so I put green hair dye in his shampoo."

"You did?"

Parker laughed,"I did. I also added pink. I got grounded for a couple months for it but it was so worth it."

"I bet it was." Blaise laughed.

"He refused to leave the house."

"Aw."

Parker sighed,"Can I ask you something else?"

"Uh, sure?"

"Have you ever noticed that me and Draco... Aren't alike?"

"Personality wise? Yeah."

"Don't I look different as well? I mean, mum has some black hair but she told me she dyed that." Parker leaned back on the couch.

"I mean.." Blaise studied her face,"Maybe you have a point... You might've just taken after another family member."

"My aunt Andromeda talked about her other sister, she's got fully black hair... That might be it." Parker shrugged.

"It could be." Blaise sighed.

"Genes, am I right?" Parker chuckled.

"Genes." Blaise nodded with a smile.

Neville sat down in the great hall, putting his wand down.

"Nev!" Erica skipped over.

"Oh, hi Erica." He smiled.

"How have you been?" Erica asked.

"Bored honestly."

"Well I've been taking really good care of William!"

"You have? Has he grown?" Neville raised a brow.

"A little bit, yeah." She nodded.

"I'm so glad, he's the first cactus I've grown." Neville hummed.

"He's very cute." Erica smiled.

"Oh! The sunflowers are coming along good." Neville nodded.

"Great!"

"One day they might actually grow as high as I want them to."

"Giant Sunflowers." She gasped.

"Might be taller than you." Neville gave a small smile.

"That's not too hard." Erica sighed.

"You're very small."

Erica crossed her arms.

"What?" Neville chuckled.

"I'm not that small." She pouted.

Neville just gave her a look as if to say, 'seriously?'

"Nev!"

"Erica." Neville laughed.

Erica sighed.

"All the short people are the best."

Erica's eyes lit up and she smiled,"You think so?"

"The very best. That's what my gran told me."

"I mean, I guess I am pretty cool."

"You are." Neville smiled.

"Neville! Hi!" Hannah walked over, sitting at his other side.

Erica gripped her sleeves,"Oh, hi Hannah."

"Oh hi Erica, didn't see you there." Hannah rolled her eyes a little.

"Hi... Hannah." Neville smiled.

"Listen, Erica was telling me all about you growing stuff. I was hoping you could grow me a flower. I love daisies." Hannah hummed.

Erica bit her lip and she could feel her leg bouncing. She felt... Weird... What was she feeling?

"Well, uh... Yeah, I'l see what I have." Neville nodded.

"Oh, thank you Neville. You're such a sweetheart. Isn't that right, Erica?"

"Mhm, he's great." Erica smiled.

"Well, I better be off. I'll talk to you in class Nev." Hannah winked before she ran off.

Erica quickly hugged Neville.

"Oh- We're hugging." Neville hummed and hugged back.

"We're hugging."

"I like this hug."

"Me too."

"No Ron, you can't hold your wand like that." Hermione sighed to him as all five of the Herd were out in the garden, trying to get Ron to use his wand correctly while it was broken.

"But why? It feels better." Ron groaned.

"Because it's broken still." Parker shrugged.

"And I don't want you getting hurt." Erica pointed.

"Yes you would." Harry chuckled.

Ron sighed and put his wand away, leaning back,"Can't we do this later?"

"No." Parker pointed before Neville came running out to the Herd.

"Nev? What's wrong? Erica asked.

"I don't know who did it but you all better come." Neville panted.

"Did what?" Hermione raised a brow.

"Just- Come on!" Neville ran off.

"That can't be good." Parker sighed.

"Let's go." Erica got up, pulling Ron.

Once they arrived at the dorm room, it was a mess. The room had been turned upside down.

"Woah... Someone's had some fun in here." Erica looked around.

"It had to have been a Gryffindor. No one else can get in." Hermione shook her head.

"Who in Gryffindor would want to wreck our room?" Ron questioned.

"Did you have anything valuable?" Parker raised brow.

"Well, I didn't." Ron sighed.

"I... Might have." Harry muttered.

"Harry, what do you have?" Hermione crossed her arms,'Or did."

"I had Tom Riddle's diary."

"Weird." Erica mumbled,"You had someone else's diary?"

"You didn't tell them?" Hermione blinked.

"I guess it just... Slipped my mind."

Harry then jumped, looking around.

"Harry?" Parker looked at him.

"The voice! You didn't hear?"

"Not more spooky voices." Erica sighed,"No, we didn't hear it."

"Harry.' Hermione gasped,"I think I've misunderstood something! I've got to go to the library!"

She quickly sprinted away.

"And... She's gone." Ron shook his head,"Always in the library, that one."

"When in doubt, go to the library." Parker hummed,"You'd better get moving, the match, it's nearly eleven."

"That's right-" Harry quickly turned,"I'd better go before Oliver lectures me."

"We'll head to the stands, see you out there Harry." Ron waved.

"Bye guys." Harry smiled before he hurried off.

"Hermione will meet us there, I'm sure." Parker nodded.

"Of course she will, she never misses a match." Ron agreed.

"Well let's go then." Parker hummed.

"Yay, Quiddich!" Erica smiled.

*********************************

"Hermione should be here by now." Ron sighed.

"Maybe it's just that time, Y'know?" Erica looked over at Parker.

"That time- Oh! Yeah." Parker nodded.

"What are you on about?" Ron questioned.

"Shh, shh. Nothing for your ears." Parker put a finger on his lips.

"Wh-"

"Ah! Shush."

Ron rolled his eyes and turned back to the pitch,"Where are the players?"

"Yeah... I was wondering that too." Parker looked around.

"It's been ages." Erica nodded slowly.

"Whats the time?"

Erica looked at her invisible watch.

"Ah, time for Quiddich." Parker laughed and pointed at Erica's wrist.

"Yay!" Erica smiled.

That's when they felt someone tap their shoulders. Erica jumped and turned around. It was... Harry?

"McGonagall cancelled the match." Harry sighed.

"Oh.." Ron nodded slowly,"Why?"

"She wants us all to see something. All of us need to go to the infirmary." Harry shrugged.

"That makes me worried." Erica shook her head.

"What about Hermione?" Ron looked at them.

"McGonagall probably got to her first."

"Yeah." Ron nodded slowly,"Let's go."

They all ran off to the infirmary, only to be met with McGonagall at the doors.

"Professor? What is it?" Ron asked her.

"I'm afraid... There's been an accident." McGonagall looked down.

"An accident?" Harry looked between them

"I'm afraid, your friend... Hermione, she's been petrified."

Erica grabbed Parker's arm,"N-no! She can't be!"

"Can we see her Professor?" Parker rubbed Erica's arm.

McGonagall nodded jer head solemnly and stepped aside. All four of them slowly walked in, walking up to their friend.

There she was, completely frozen with her hands clenched, one arm in the air.

"Oh 'Mione." Ron sighed

Erica walked beside her and touched her hand... Stone cold.

"I... Don't know if any of you will know what this means? It was beside her." McGonagall lifted a small handheld mirror.

Erica tilted her head. She knew that mirror... She'd helped Percy draw it for Oliver.

"Miss Weasley?" McGonagall turned to her.

"Huh- Oh, no." Erica shook her head,"I thought it was something I knew but its not."

"Then no, we haven't got a clue Professor." Harry sighed.

Ron nodded slowly,"I can't believe it.."

"I think it's best you all head to your common rooms. They'll be a curfew set in place so no one else has to get stuck like this." McGonagall shook her head.

"Y-yeah, let's go." Erica nodded, although she had no intention of heading to her common room.

She had to go see someone who would listen to her, talk to her. Percy. As the group began to split off, Erica snuck into a portrait hole to go find Percy. And where would a prefect be at this time of night? Well in his room of course. So that is where she was headed, Gryffindor Tower.
