Chapter 49 - Our little secret~

Neville sighed as he sat Frank on the couch, he'd been doing the housework all day and was exhausted. That's when he heard the front door open and saw the woman he had to call his wife walk in.

"Hannah, had a good day?"

"It was alright." Hannah shrugged.

"Well, I did what you asked. The house is clean, plants are watered and the cupboards have been sorted." Neville sighed softly,"Now, I'm going to go for a nap."

"A nap? And leave your son unattended?" Hannah scoffed.

"But you're home, can't... You look after him for a bit?" Neville asked.

"I have stuff to do, get ready for. I can't have a baby crawling about when I'm getting ready."

Neville sighed as be picked Frank back up,"I can't do everything around here, Hannah."

"What do you expect me to fucking do, Nev?" Hannah sighed.

"I don't know, maybe help out around the house?" Neville suggested.

"Well you've already done that, haven't you?" She shrugged and opened the fridge,"You haven't went shopping."

"Because I've been busy doing everything else." Neville shook his head.

"God, you're so fucking usless Neville. I asked you to get shopping and you didn't get shopping. Which means I'll not eat before I go out, and Frank won't either."

Neville closed his eyes and tried to ignore Hannah.

"So either go to the store or let us starve, your decision." Hannah shrugged and slammed the fridge, walking off upstairs.

Although the slam only caused Frank to get disturbed and begin to cry.

"Shh, it's okay, Frankie." Neville hummed, gently rocking him,"I won't let her hurt you."

Frank just cried, he wanted his mother but... She would hardly hold him.

"I'm sorry, buddy." Neville tried.

Frank eventually calmed down, going straight to sleep as Hannah came back down.

"God, he doesn't shut up, does he?"

"You scared him Hannah, he's only a baby."

"So?"

"Well, for starters, you shouldn't make loud noises around him."

"He'll get used to it."

Neville shook his head,"I'm putting him to bed."

"Finally."

Neville took in a deep breath as he headed upstairs, praying that Hannah would just leave.

"And make sure you make sure he sleeps!" She shouted.

Neville covered Frank's ears, walking into his room and gently closing the door behind him. Frank slightly opened his eyes and babbled.

"Hi baby." Neville smiled at him.

Frank reached up to his dad. Neville gently held his hand before hearing a rustling by his window. Neville slowly put down Frank in his bed before he went over to the window. And there was... Erica? She was tapping on the window.

"Erica?" Neville whispered before he opened the window.

"Hey Nev." She smiled.

"What are you doing?"

"Coming to see you... But I saw Hannah, so I couldn't walk through the door.

"I think she's leaving soon anyway." Neville sighed and put a hand out for her.

Erica smiled and took his hand,"Good."

"How are you?"

"I'm doing good, how's things for you and the baby?" Erica asked.

"Frank's... Tired. So am I." Neville pulled her in.

"Well lie down." Erica pointed to the chair.

"I can't, Er... Not now." Neville hummed.

"Why not?" Erica asked,"Your stressed, you need it."

"I gotta do stuff around the house."

"Nev, you need some you time."

"I don't get me time." Neville sat in the arm chair.

"You do when I'm here." Erica walked over to him.

Neville hummed, "That's different." He took her hand.

"Well I'm here now." She squeezed his hand as the front door opened and closed,"And Hannah isn't."

"As usual."

Erica leaned in and kissed him. Neville hummed and kissed back, gently holding her waist as he pulled her onto his lap. Only to pull away a minute later.

"Wait- Not in here." He chuckled.

"No, not here. Not in Frank's room." Erica got up.

"Definitely not." Neville laughed and pulled her through to his room.

Erica wrapped her arms around him and kissed him again. Neville then quickly took off his shirt before pulling the covers over them.

Erica sighed as she looked at herself in the changing room mirror. Hannah had always made her feel insecure so she could tell that she'd gained weight.

"Hey, how does the dress look?" Parker asked as she knocked on the door.

"Huh- Oh, it's fine, guess.." Erica shook her head.

"You've been in there a while." Parker sighed.

"Parker... Be honest, have I gained weight?" Erica asked her.

Parker blinked,"Let me in."

Erica sighed and opened the door for her.

Parker twirled Erica a little, titling her head,"Hm... A little. But it's good, you've always been a little on the under side."

"But I haven't done anything different, I'm... Well, I'm a bit nervous." Erica sighed softly.

"You're nervous... Why?"

"Well, Nev and I..." Erica trailed off.

"Ah yeah, you guys... Did your thing." Parker nodded.

"Without protection."

Parker blinked,"How many times have I told you-"

"I know, I know but it was in the heat of the moment and one thing lead to another... I'm Sorry."

"Okay... So let's go to the drug store." Parker nodded,"Get dressed, I'll deal with out here."

"Right, right, it'll be fine.." Erica shook her head.

"It'll be fine." Parker rubbed her back before she closed the door, walking out to the waiting area,"Nathan?"

"What's wrong with her in there?" Nathan rolled his eyes.

"We need to go to the drugstore." Parker sighed.

"Why?" Nathan crossed his arms,"I'm not spending my money on her."

"Then... Can you just give me some of my money?" Parker looked at him.

Nathan let out a drawn out sighed before handing her a five pound note. Parker bit her cheek.

"Thanks babe." She gave a small smile.

"Of course, love. Now go get what you need."

Parker hesitated before she kissed his cheek and waited for Erica. Erica walked out, bag in hand and avoiding eye contact with a glaring Nathan.

"I got some money." Parker hummed.

"Okay, let's go." Erica sighed.

They soon went to the drugstore, bought a test and left,"Where do you want to do it? At home?'

"Home." Erica nodded.

"Home it is. Let's head to the car." Parker hummed.

Erica nodded as she followed Parker... Was she really..?

"It'll be okay." Parker took her friend's hand.

"Thanks, Parker."

*********************************

Parker sat in the empty bath of her house, Erica sitting on the counter in the bathroom while they waited for the results of the test.

"Parker, I'm scared." Erica spoke up.

Parker looked over at her,"I know hun, but... Maybe it's just you being paranoid."

"Maybe.."

"But no matter what, you're always going to have me."

Erica smiled at Parker before looking at the test,"It's done."

Parker hopped out the bath and walked over to Erica, taking her hand. Erica looked at the test and froze, carefully sliding off the counter.

Parker looked at the test, squeezing her hand,"Positive.."

Erica shook her head,"Parker, what do I do?"

Parker bit her cheek,"We... We'll think of something."

Erica sighed and looked down,"I... I want to keep it."

"You do?" Parker looked at her,"Okay."

Erica nodded and leaned against Parker,"But I don't want anyone to know about this.."

"So how are we going to go about that?" Parker tilted her head.

"I'll... Go stay with Charlie in Romania, say we have a big project." Erica began slowly,"And then... Say I adopted her out there."

Parker nodded slowly,"Okay, no one will know."

"Except you... And Charlie."

"I'll take the secret to my grave."

"I'll tell Nev when she's older." Erica sighed.

Parker nodded,"How about... We go and eat cake."

"Cake sounds nice." Erica smiled softly.

*********************************

Erica was sat on Charlie's couch, fiddling with her hands.

"Tea." Charlie came through and handed her a cup.

"Thanks, Charlie." Erica smiled at him, taking the cup.

"Made just how you and baby like it." Charlie hummed.

"You're too cute." Erica poked him.

"Speaking of baby... How long until they hatch?"

Erica sighed,"Charlie, I've told you, human babies don't hatch."

"I mean, technically they do." Charlie shrugged.

"No, Charlie."

"Mum hatched us all."

Erica sighed.

All of a sudden they heard a knock at the door

"That must be her." Erica stood up.

"You sit, I'll get the door." Charlie pointed.

"Fine." Erica sighed.

"Down." He waited until she sat down.

"I'm going down." Erica sat down.

"Good." Charlie smiled and walked to the door.

Erica shook her head and leaned back in the chair.

"Hi Charlie." Parker smiled as he opened the door, her own baby bump having grown a little.

"Hi Parker, how are you and baby?" He asked her, holding the door open.

"We've been better, flight over here was a nightmare." Parker sighed.

"I can imagine." He sighed,"Well, Erica is just through there. Want some tea?"

"That would be great, thanks Charlie." Parker smiled and walked over to Erica.

"Parker." Erica smiled up at her.

"Erica." Parker ran up and hugged her gently.

Erica smiled and hugged back before patting a spot beside her.

"How's things?" She sat down.

"Y'know, they're doing better than I thought." Erica smiled softly.

Parker hummed,"I'm glad. I spoke to Nev the other day."

"You did?" Erica blinked,"Was he okay?"

"He's asking for you." Parker rubbed her arm.

Erica smiled sadly,"Once baby is here I'll make sure to see him."

"He'll be waiting." Parker hummed.

"I know and I'll bring protection then."

Parker laughed and shook her head,"Definitely."

"Not making the same bad decision twice." Erica shook her head, placing a hand on her stomach.

"They're not a bad decision." Parker sighed.

"No, the baby is completely innocent here." Erica looked down,"But they resulted from my carelessness."

"You and Neville... It's not careless. Its what you both want."

"But I can't have him Parker, he's married... I know it's not happy but what we're doing still isn't right." Erica leaned against her.

"Then... Hopefully he makes the right choice. When he can." Parker nodded.

"For him and Frankie."

Parker nodded and stroked her hair,"You're doing great though."

"I'm trying."

"You're doing amazing." Parker smiled.

"So are you." Erica pointed.

Parker sighed,"We're doing our best."

"It's all we can do." Erica nodded slowly.

"I have teas!" Charlie walked through.

"Thanks, Charlie." Erica smiled at him.

"I'm sure these are as good as I remember." Parker hummed.

"Trust me, they are." Erica sipped her's.

*********************************

Parker finally arrived home, gently closing the door as it was late, she didn't want to wake Nathan. However, Nathan was wide awake and sat on the couch, a newspaper in hand.

"So? Where have you been?"

Parker cursed and turned to him,"I already told you."

"Hm, I don't seem to remember that."

"Well maybe you're getting old." Parker shrugged and went to leave.

"Not. So. Fast."

Parker stopped in her tracks and took a deep breath.

"You've been getting a lot of plane tickets recently." Nathan stood up,"Why?"

"You've been looking at my mail?" Parker turned to him.

"Someone needs to find out where you're off to at all times." Nathan shrugged.

"I told you, its work. Leave it at that." Parker shook her head.

"No, where the hell are you going so often?"

"Nathan- I'm tired, and the baby has been kicking... Please." Parker put her hand out.

"Even more of a reason, you're pregnant." Nathan crossed his arms,"You shouldn't be running off so much."

"I'm not running off, jeez!" Parker sighed.

"You might as well be with the amount of plane tickets you're getting."

"I'd rather run off than be bloody stuck here with you." She scoffed.

"Excuse me?" Nathan clenched his fists.

"I... I didn't mean it like that, Nathan... You know that."

Nathan scoffed,"Yeah, right. Speaking of which, where the hell is that botch who normally follows you around?"

"Don't call Erica a bitch." Parker pointed.

Nathan rolled his eyes,"Well? Where is she?"

"She's visiting family." Parker held her back.

"For five months?"

"Her brother. He's... Sick. She's looking after him."

"She doesn't give me 'Stop work to care for people' energy."

"You don't know her as well as I do." Parker shrugged as she slowly walked over to him,"Why... Why don't we just go to bed?"

"I suppose it is quite late.."

"I know- And I'm sure you've had a long day at work, so you just want to relax... I'm sorry for disturbing you." Parker rubbed his arm,"I can- I can make it up to you."

"I know you will, darling." He kissed her cheek,"Come, let's go to bed."

"I know you will, darling." He kissed her cheek,"Come, let's go to bed."

"I'll be up in a moment, I need.. To make some tea."

Nathan nodded and began to climb the stairs,"Don't take too long."

"Of course not." Parker assured him.

*********************************

Erica was practically asleep as she sat, holding her daughter. Cedar. Cedar Weasley.

"Erica." Charlie sighed as he walked into her room.

"Hm?" She yawned.

"You're going to drop her." Charlie laughed,"Can I?"

Erica nodded and carefully handed Charlie his niece.

"You need sleep. I can look after Cedar for a while." Charlie assured her.

"Look, I'll be fine. Sleep isn't compulsory." Erica shook her head.

"You'll need all the sleep you can get."

Erica rubbed her eyes and laid back.

"I've got Ced, okay? I know how to look after babies."

"I know you do." Erica smiled softly,"Night, Charlie."

"Goodnight Er." He smiled as he began rocking Cedar to sleep in his arms.

Erica curled up under the covers, finally letting herself relax.

"When you're older kid, you gotta promise me you'll look after mummy. She needs all the sleep she can get." Charlie whispered to Cedar and wrapped his pinky gently around hers.

Cedar smiled up at him, giggling slightly.

*********************************

"Frank, have you finished your homework?" Neville shouted through to the living room as he cleaned the dishes.

"Yes dad, I just did.' Frank called back.

"Atta boy. You can watch some TV, okay?"

"Yes! Thanks dad!" He smiled and went to turn it on.

"Frankie, what are you doing?" Hannah walked into the room.

"Oh- I finished all my homework so daddy said I could watch some TV." He told her.

"Well mummy says no. And mummy is always right because I was forced to have you in my womb for nine fucking months." Hannah rolled her eyes.

Frank frowned and decided to go play with his toys upstairs.

Hannah turned off the TV and walked through to the kitchen,"You said he could watch tv?"

Neville bit his cheek and sat down the glass he was cleaning,"Well- Yeah, he's been really good this week."

"We never grew up with a TV, he should learn to not be obsessed with them."

"He isn't obsessed with it." Neville shook his head.

"He already asked me to watch it this morning."

"Hannah, it's supposed to be a little reward for him." Neville sighed,"He's done all his homework and his chores."

"You always care more about fucking Frank than me." Hannah pointed.

"Hannah, I never said that." Neville shook his head.

"Tell me you love me then." Hannah crossed her arms.

"Of course I love you, Hannah."

"Liar." Hannah scoffed, pushing him to the side.

"I'm not lying." Neville grabbed onto the counter to steady himself.

"I can see it in your fucking face. It's practically got 'Liar' written all over it!" Hannah went to grab him.

"Daddy? Mummy?" They heard Frank.

Neville turned to see his son, teddy bear in hand,"F-frankie? Don't worry, just go upstairs. Daddy will be up in a minute."

"There's a spider in my room."

"So kill it." Hannah rolled her eyes.

Frank quickly shook his head, squeezing his teddy bear.

Neville sighed and walked over to Frank,"It's okay, I can go get it."

"Thank you daddy." Frank hugged his arm.

"He's seven, Neville. Stop treating him like he's three." Hannah spoke from behind him.

Neville ruffled Frank's hair,"I'm not treating him like he's three, I'm treating him like a normal child."

"Well go running to help him, fucking useless." Hannah scoffed and walked off.

"Don't listen to her Frank, she'd just being silly." Neville kissed his head.

"Am I useless?" Frank looked up at his dad.

"Of course not!" Neville hugged him tightly.

"Mummy tells me that a lot."

"Well mummy is wrong, because you mean everything to me."

"I love you, daddy." Frank smiled.

"I love you too, buddy. Now, let's get that spider." Neville smiled too.

"Kill it!" Frank ran off.

*********************************

Erica sighed as she stood in the living room. She was nervous but she knew she had to tell Neville.

Neville came through the door, bringing home Cedar, Frank and Phoenix from school,"We're back!"

"I missed you." Erica walked over to them.

Frank just turned away from Erica, going to the kitchen. Meanwhile the girls hugged Erica.

Erica smiled and hugged the girls before turning to Nev,"There's actually something I've been meaning to tell you, Nev."

"Oh? Is it about the dishes? Cause I was in a rush to get the kids-"

"No, don't worry about the dishes." Erica shook her head,"I did them since knew you were busy."

"Oh... Right.' Neville nodded.

"Girls, me and your father need to have a talk, okay?"

"Okay." Cedar hummed, took Phoenix's hand and ran upstairs.

Erica sighed and took his hand,"I've been meaning to tell you for a long time but... Well, you know how we 'played games' while you were still with Hannah?"

"Ah... Yes. Our games." Neville nodded.

"Well... I may or may not have gotten pregnant." Erica mumbled.

"Okay.."

"And, well, Cedar..." Erica took in a deep breath,"She is biologically your daughter.

Neville just blinked before his eyes widened,"I'm sorry, what?"

"Don't be upset with me, okay? I didn't know how to tell you." Erica looked away,"That's why I went over to Romania for nine months."

"Cedar's mine?" Neville smiled.

"She's yours." Erica held his cheek.

"I'm sorry?" Frank walked into the room.

Erica stopped and turned,"O-oh, Frank-"

"What did you just say?" Frank pointed.

"Well- Cedar is your... Half sister- I suppose." Erica fiddled with her sleeves.

"And you've hidden it from dad and me?"

"Look Frank, I'm sorry." Erica sighed.

"Dad, how can you be with someone that lies to you?" Frank scoffed.

Erica looked away, leaning her head on Neville's shoulder.

"Frank, I know Erica never meant to hurt you with this." Neville shook his head.

"Well she's lied to us!"

"Do you realize how many times Hannah lied to us? To you?"

"It doesn't matter, she's my mother." Frank shrugged and quickly ran off.

Erica sighed and wrapped her arms around Neville.

"He'll come around." Neville sighed,"Why... Why don't we go tell her?"

"We should.." Erica nodded slowly as she let him go.

"How do you think she'll react?"

"I don't know." Erica shook her head and started walking,"But after Frank I'm scared."

"I don't think she'll take it as bad as him." Neville assured her.

"I hope not." Erica sighed as she headed towards the girls room.

"Girls?" Neville knocked on the door.

"You can come in." Cedar called to them.

Neville walked in, holding Erica's hand.

Erica bent down in front of Cedar,"Ced, I have some news for you."

"I promise the explosion at the science fair wasn't me." Cedar quickly looked at her.

"I- Hang on, you did what?" Erica blinked.

"It wasn't me!"

"It was Trix and Ced." Phoenix mumbled as she flipped the page of her book.

"Thank you, Nixie." Erica smiled at her,"But back to the news Ced. You know how we said you were adopted?"

"Did you kidnap me?" Cedar smiled.

"No, no I didn't kidnap you." Erica chuckled,"I made you, you were a little, secret baby."

"You were our secret." Neville nodded.

"You were a secret from him too." She pointed.

"I was?" Cedar gasped,"We're secret buddies."

"You are." Erica smiled softly.

"No matter what. We're still sisters." Cedar smiled at Phoenix.

Phoenix hid her face behind her book but did smile softly.

"You know... I see it." Cedar nodded.

Erica smiled at the pair and stood up, leaning against Neville.
