Chapter 25 - Unlikely Betrayal

Erica pulled herself to her feet slowly. Max had, for lack of a better term, kicked the shit out of her. Luckily he had walked off after he finished with her. So she was alone. Erica sighed and leaned against the wall. After a few minutes, she heard footsteps. She quickly ducked into a passageway, not wanting be seen like this. It was her brothers, the twins.

"What are we doing again, Freddie?" George asked.

"Erica's been missing for hours, we need to find her." Fred sighed.

"She could be anywhere though." George reminded him.

"Maybe check her sneaky passages?" Fred suggested.

"Fuck." Erica muttered, doing her best to get away quickly.

Fred looked at his brother as he heard footsteps. Erica kept running until she... Fell into a hole? She hadn't seen this place before.

"Erica? Is that you?" Fred called out.

"It's just us." George added.

Erica looked around her dark surroundings and noticed a set of trapdoor doors above her so she closed them.

Fred sighed, "Let's keep looking then."

Erin let out a sigh of relief, her eyes adjusting to her dark surroundings. It was a little hidey-hole in the walls. Cool! Who made this though? Why was it here? That's when she heard something. Hannah... Talking to the Herd?

"Say that again?' Parker asked.

"She's missing." Hannah crossed her arms,"Are you deaf?"

"It has nothing to do with you this time, right?" Parker rolled her eyes.

"Obviously not, that's why I'm telling you." Hannah pointed,"I thought you'd want to find your crazy friend."

"She's not crazy." Ron pointed back.

"Oh, yeah? She's been talking to herself recently." Hannah rolled her eyes.

"She has... Her moments." Harry shrugged.

"Tell me about it." Hannah scoffed.

"Why do you care anyway?" Hermione questioned.

"Oh, I don't but I don't like putting up with someone always loosing our house points." Hannah shrugged.

"Look, Hannah, just fuck off, right? We'll find her." Parker rolled her eyes.

"Don't need to tell me twice." Hannah began to walk away.

Parker held up her middle finger before she looked at the others, "How did none of you realise? I go away with Draco for 1 hour."

"She wasn't with us when you left." Hermione told her,"She went to see, well, I don't know. She mentioned going to see someone."

"Who?" Parker looked at them.

"I just said I don't know, I think it was a boy." Hermione shook her head.

"Neville?" Ron suggested.

"Could be." Harry nodded.

"I'll go see." Parker sighed and walked off.

Erica watched on from her new hidey-hole, soon looking around some of the items in there. It must've been an old store room as there were quite a few potion ingredients. She needed to get cleaned up, without getting caught. It was time to put her spy skills to use. Maybe there was something in here for healing? After a while of looking, she came across a healing potion; Leximon.

"Perfect." She muttered, taking some.

Immediately she began to feel it working.

"Right, now what?" Erica let out a shaky breath.

That's when she heard two familiar voices again.

"So she didn't come and see you?" Parker asked.

"No.." Neville shook his head.

"What boy would Erica meet then?" Parker sighed.

"I'm not sure." Neville admitted as Erica popped out of her passageway.

"Who does she know boy-wise?" Parker thought.

"Quite a lot." Neville shrugged.

Parker looked around and blinked, hearing footsteps,"Erica?"

"Hi." She waved.

"Where did- Where did you come from?" Parker questioned.

"Passageways." Erica yawned,"I fell asleep, did I miss anything?"

"You've been missing for hours. What boy did you go see?" Parker walked to her.

"Hm? Oh, Dean was helping me with some studying." Erica stretched.

"Right." Neville nodded slowly.

"Then I went for a nap." She told them.

"In the passageways?" Neville asked.

"Mhm, safer than the common room." Erica shrugged.

"We were worried." Parker sighed, "Just- Don't do it again, please?"

"I promise I won't." Erica assured them.

Parker nodded before she walked off.

"You... Alright?' Neville held his hands behind his back.

"Me? I'm fine." Erica smiled at him.

Neville gave a quick smile back, "I'm glad."

"Safe travels." Erica waved to him, starting to walk off.

"Y-Yeah, bye." Neville waved.

**

"So... You're sure this is okay, Parker?" Erin asked.

"Yeah, yeah." Parker nodded.

"Your house." Erica pointed to it.

"I know secret ways in. You're not the only one with secret passages." Parker hummed.

"Cool." Erica smiled, knowing exactly what she wanted to do here.

"Just be quiet." Parker walked to the greenhouse.

"Will do." Erica nodded.

Parker checked the hallway before she knocked on the wall and it opened up, "After you."

"Thanks." Erica walked in.

"So this has corridors to every room in the house. Sirus' brother Regulas found out about these." Parker hummed.

"It's amazing." Erica nodded as she walked.

"It is.' She nodded, "Just up these stairs to my room."

"Right." Erica began to climb.

Once in her room, Parker lay back on her bed, humming, "What do you think?"

"I really like it." Erica smiled.

"Wardrobe, bathroom..yada, yada.." Parker shrugged, "Shoot, what time is it?"

"Uh, half five?" Erica guessed.

"Shit. I gotta go talk to Draco, I will be back in like 5 minutes." Parker shot up, "Uh- Mi Casa, tu Casa."

She bowed and ran out the room. Once Parker was gone, Erica smirked. This was her chance. She waited until she didn't hear Parker at all before she poked her head out the room. All she needed to do was find Lucius, he seemed easy to control and manipulate. Erica remembered that Parkers room was the highest up, almost like an attic room but rather large. She headed down the stairs before she began to look around. She continued, trying to stay mostly out of sight until she spotted him. Lucius Malfoy.

"Just make sure they're both there for the meeting." Lucius told a man in a mask.

Erica watched as the masked man disappeared before she spoke,"Mr Malfoy."

Lucius turned and looked at the ginger girl in front of him, "What..Are you doing here?"

"I have a request." She spoke calmly.

"How did you get in, Weasley?" Lucius grabbed his wand.

"I have my ways." Erica shrugged, noticing him grab his wand,"You don't want to do that, sir."

"What do you want?" Lucius tilted his head.

"To be a Death Eater." Erica crossed her arms.

"Ha! You?" Lucius scoffed.

"Exactly." Erin nodded.

"No." He crossed his arms.

"How come?" Erica raised a brow,"It's not like I care about Potter."

"You're his friend." Lucius pointed.

"Ever heard of acting?" Erica raised a brow.

"For years?" He copied her.

"For years." Erica nodded,"Would you want to be friends with someone who nearly gets you killed every year?"

Lucius shrugged, "I... Suppose not."

"So, how do I do it?' Erica asked.

"You get chosen by the Dark Lord. Like my niece and son, as I'm sure you already know that." Lucius told her.

"Uh uh." She nodded slowly.

"Give me one good reason why I should even mention it to him." Lucius crossed his arms.

"Because I already know your plans, there's a snitch." Erica smirked.

"A snitch you say?" Lucius raised a brow.

"Mhm." Erica hummed.

"Who?" Lucius asked

"Parker."

"And how is she the snitch?" Lucius questioned.

"As soon as she got that mark, the first thing she did was come and tell me what your were planning." She pointed.

Lucius cursed under his breath, "That little-"

"But you can trust me." Erica told him.

Lucius thought for a minute, "I will talk to the Dark Lord."

"Thank you." Erica hummed,"Pleasure doing business."

"Run along now." He shooed her away.

"I will." Erica skipped back to Parker's room and fell back onto the bed.

Just as Erica lay down, Parker came in, rubbing her arm.

"You alright?" Erica feigned sympathy.

"Yeah, just had a talk with Draco and my wonderful mother." Parker rolled her eyes.

"At least it wasn't your dad." Erica nodded,"Well, Lucius."

"He already hates me enough." Parker shrugged, "Alright, movie time."

"Yay!" Erica cheered.

**

While the Herd walked through the school, Erica noticed long platinum blonde hair in a corridor. She sort of slowed down, studying him. Upon studying, she saw it was... Lucius!

"Er?" Ron looked at her.

"Sorry, thought I saw something." Erica shook his head.

"Come on, we gotta go." Parker nodded.

"Coming." Erica nodded slowly.

The figure watched Erica before it disappeared.

"Why was he here?" Erica thought.

"So they started mentioning... Something about the Order, we just need to make sure everyone's okay from there.' Parker informed the group.

She needed to find out whay they wanted. Erica bit her lip, she'd need to try and find Lucius later if that coward was still lurking about.

"Alright Erica?' Hermione turned to her.

"Of course." Erica nodded.

"Right. Great plan. See you guys at Lunch." Harry sighed and walked off.

"Bye." Erica waved.

Right, where was he? She didn't need to look very hard. If anything, he was practically in plain sight. Really? Behind a pillar? His back was turned, he didn't notice Erica.

"Oi, Lucius." Erica whisper yelled to him.

Lucius jumped and turned before correcting her,"Mr Malfoy."

"Could you have picked a worse hiding spot?" Erica asked, ignoring his correction.

"This is a perfectly good hiding spot." He defended.

"I could see you a mile away." Erica pointed.

"You just have good eyesight." Lucius shrugged.

"I wear glasses." Erica rolled her eyes.

"Even better." He pointed.

"Right, why are you here?" Erica sighed.

"The Dark Lord wants to meet you." He informed her.

"Great." Erica smirked,"Let's go."

"What about your... 'friends'?" Lucius raised a brow.

"Who cares about them?" Erica rolled her eyes.

"Take ahold of my shoulder, Miss Weasley." Lucius sighed.

"Done." Erica did as she was told.

Immediately after she did, she felt the familiar motion come back. They were apparating to the Manor. Once there, Erica looked around her surroundings. They were in the dining hall, with quite a few Death Eaters.

"Ah! Lucius, I see you've brought a friend." Erica heard Voldemort speak.

"My Lord." Erica bowed down.

Voldemort tilted his head, "You're that Weasley girl."

"That is correct." Erica nodded.

"Present your case on why you'd like to join us." Voldemort spoke.

When Erica looked, she had saw Bellatrix, Narcissa, now Lucius and many others.

"Well, for starters, that one's completely useless." Erica pointed at Lucius.

Lucius rolled his eyes and sat back.

"And it's not like Parker's any better, listening to your plans and telling us about them." Erica shrugged.

"Has she now?" Bellatrix perked up.

"Yes." Erica nodded,"But I wouldn't do that to you."

"I like her." Bellatrix hummed and pointed at Erica.

"Thank you, Madame Lestrange." Erica nodded again.

Bellatrix laughed and clapped.

"I suppose... We can give you a trial." Voldemort suggested.

"Sounds like a plan." Erica smirked.

"Your first job will be to let us know what Potter and his friends are up to." Voldemort nodded.

"Simple enough." Erica agreed.

"Once I swear that you are... Worthy. Then you shall gain the mark." Voldemort informed her.

"Don't worry my Lord, I won't fail you."

"Lucius, please escort Miss Weasley out." Voldemort pointed.

"Will do, my Lord." Lucius quickly stood up.

Lucius then moved over to Erica and nodded for her to touch his shoulder. Erica gave Voldemort one last nod before touching his shoulder. That's when Lucius and Erica apparated back to Hogwarts.

"Thanks." Erica hummed.

"Don't bother me." Lucius sighed and walked off.

"Rude." Erica rolled her eyes.

**

Parker got up from her chair and walked out of her room to get a drink from the kitchen. A girl she hadn't noticed before was there. Parker raised a brow and watched the girl. She seemed to be getting a drink herself, wine. Parker slowly walked into the kitchen and opened the fridge.

"Am I pretty or something?" The girl asked, she could tell Parker was staring.

"You're new.' Parker shrugged.

"I'm aware." She nodded,"You're Madame Lestrange's daughter."

Parker nodded, "Not like no one knew that."

"Well, I'd better get back to the meeting." She began walking away.

"What's your name then?" Parker crossed her arms, putting her glass down.

"Maria." She continued.

"Maria?' Parker nodded slowly.

"That's me." She smirked.

"And why have you decided to become a Death Eater... Maria?" Parker began to walk closer to her, "Not exactly everyone's dream."

"Well, I-" Maria stopped herself,"I'm not sharing."

"Well, you have to. I'm Madame Lestrange's daughter." Parker shrugged.

"Madame Lestrange doesn't like you, she wouldn't mind." Maria turned form her.

Parker watched Maria, "Doesn't like me?"

Of course Parker knew this, they were on different sides after all.

"Not at all." Maria shook her head before leaning towards Parker,"They think you're snitching, too."

Parker looked Maria up and down, noticing a small part of ginger hair, "I would never snitch.'

Maria gave Parker a look before continuing back to the dining room. Parker watched as Maria walked to the dining room. She grabbed her glass and poured juice into it before she walked upstairs to a small look over part of the house. She had a... Hunch, shall we say? She needed to see if it was correct. Parker stepped back, watching the meeting take place. Of course she didn't join this, she just needed to see if her hunch was correct. Sure enough, as she listened to the voice of 'Maria', she could tell. Then she took off her hood and... Well, it wasn't Maria.

"Erica?" Parker gasped quietly.

She shook her head before she ran back to her room and got the small box device Harry had shown her. A phone? Is that what you called it? She clicked a few buttons and called Harry, Ron, Hermione and even Neville.

"Parker?" Harry asked,"What's the matter?"

"Can you hear me?" Parker pressed more buttons.

"Yes, yes, we can hear you." Hermione answered.

"I need to meet all of you somewhere in Hogsmead, like- immediately." Parker told them.

"Like, right now?" Ron asked.

"Right now, Ronald!" Parker nodded.

"Alright, we'll be there." Ron sighed.

"Good. Nev?" Parker asked.

"Uh, I should be able to make it." Neville nodded.

"See you then." Parker sighed and put her jacket on.

"See you there." Harry sighed, everyone else hanging up.

Parker looked at the Death Eaters at the table before she apparated. After a few minutes, the rest of the people she called there arrived.

"Fucking finally.' Parker tapped her foot.

"Well, we needed to get ready. We weren't expecting this." Hermione pointed.

Parker looked at them all as they sat down. Hold on, where was Erica?

"Right, what's wrong?" Ron asked her.

"You guys aren't gonna like this." Parker crossed her arms.

"Just tell us." Harry told her.

"Erica's a Death Eater."

The entire table was silent.

"She's at the Manor right now.' Parker nodded.

"But- Why would Erica do that?" Neville blinked.

"I don't know, but she's there, and I don't know what she's planning." Parker sighed.

"Are you sure it's Erica?" Harry raised a brow.

"Ginger speccy girl that I've known since 1st year? Yes, I'm sure it's Erica. She even used the code name 'Maria.'" Parker pointed.

"It could just be someone who looks like her." Hermione shook her head.

"And has the name as Maria when it's the same middle name as Erica?" Parker raised a brow.

"I saw her! With my own eyes." Parker pointed.

Neville just sighed and walked off, he didn't believe this in the slightest.

Parker scoffed and held her head, "I'm trying to help, she could ruin everything."

"It's not very believable though." Hermione sighed.

"Erica's on out side." Ron added.

"Well, she was but something obviously changed. Ron, keep checking her arm when she's home." Parker pointed.

"Fine." Ron rolled his eyes.

"I'm just gonna go then, since you won't believe me." Parker sighed and shook her head.

Harry shook his head as Parker got up. What was happening? Parker took one last look before she apparated back to the Manor. Neville continued walking along the path when he heard something.

"Nev, over here!"

Neville lifted his head at the sound of the voice.

"Erica?" Neville turned and walked over to her.

"The one and only." She nodded.

"What are you doing here?" Neville smiled.

"I have a secret." Erica whispered.

Neville raised a brow, "What?"

"You have to promise you won't tell anyone." Erica pointed.

"I promise." Neville nodded.

Erica looked around before slowly lifting her sleeve to reveal the dark mark. Neville's eyes widened, Parker was right!

"Erica.." He spoke slowly.

"Shh, darling." Erica placed her finger on his lips,"Nobody has to know."

"Why... Why would you want this?" Neville asked.

"People hurt me, okay? Then they expect me to walk it off and be fine!" Erica pointed,"I'm sick of it!"

"Did I hurt you?" Neville looked at her.

"Of course you didn't." Erica assured him.

"Who? I can talk to them." He nodded.

"No, I don't want you getting hurt by them." Erica shook her head.

"I won't." He assured her.

"Still." Erica crossed her arms.

Neville sighed, crossing his arms as well.

"Just take care of yourself, alright?" Erica gave in.

Neville nodded slowly.

"Max and Hannah." Erica spoke slowly.

Neville looked at her.

"They hurt me." Erica sighed.

"What did they do?" Neville asked.

"Well, a lot of things." Erica looked at him.

"I'm sorry." Neville shook his head.

"No, no, it's- It's alright." Erica blinked.

"They shouldn't have done that to you." Neville pointed.

"I know." Erica sighed.

Neville hesitated before he hugged her. Erica froze for a minute before hugging back. This was... Nice.

"I won't tell them.' Neville nodded.

"Thanks, Nev." Erica smiled.

"You're welcome." He nodded again

"You'd better go now." Erica nodded,"I have some business to attend to."

Neville nodded slowly, giving her one last look before he walked off. Erica watched him leave before apparating.

**

Parker sighed and walked away from the Herd, they hadn't listened to her once again and she couldn't be bothered with them.

"So... I'm assuming it didn't work out?"

Parker turned at the sound of the voice. It was Erica, sat on a tree branch.

"Hello, Erica." Parker waved.

"Hi, Parker." Erica hopped down,"You talking shit?"

"Might be." Parker shrugged.

"Well, as I predicted, they didn't believe you." Erica winked.

Parker rolled her eyes and continued walking.

"Bellatrix said she would prefer if I was her daughter." Erica called to her.

Parker slowly stopped, biting her inner cheek, "Did she?".

"She did." Erica hummed.

"Well, that's good for her." Parker nodded.

"It's a shame though, you just want some motherly love and approval." Erica shrugged,"Well, my mum always favoured you and Harry so you're fine."

"Your mother loves you." Parker told her.

"Yes, yes, it feels like it." Erica rolled her eyes.

"She does." Parker pointed.

"Well, whatever you say. Be prepared though, the Dark Lord and I have some plans." Erica informed her.

"Yeah?" Parker raised a brow.

"It's gonna be real fun!" Erica smirked.

"What is it?" Parker crossed her arms.

"Like I'll tell you, you'll just snitch on us." Erica scoffed.

"I'm saving the Wizarding World by snitching." Parker sighed.

"Oh, well." Erica began to leave,"Tell Hannah to sleep with one eye open, okay?"

Parker looked at Erica, "Erica, you can't-"

"You can't stop me!"

And she was gone. Parker sighed and rubbed her head before she walked off.

**

Erica skipped through the halls of Hogwarts, completely fine with the chaos and destruction going on around her.

Thats when she heard a familiar voice, "Erica?!"

Erica rolled her eyes and turned around. Percy. Of course.

"Erica?" Percy gasped.

"What?" Erica crossed her arms.

"How are you- What are you doing here?" Percy stammered.

"What do you think?" Erica scoffed.

"Parker told me... I didn't believe it was true." Percy looked at his little sister.

"Well, it is." Erica hummed, she couldn't be bothered with this right now.

"You're better than this." Percy pointed.

"Don't act like you know me, Percy." Erica sighed.

"You're my little sister." Percy walked towards her slowly.

"Ugh, bored of you now." Erica fired a spell at him.

Percy grunted as he was flung back onto rubble. Erica smirked before skipping along the corridor, searching for Parker. When she found her, Parker had just flung a Death Eater back with a spell.

"Peekaboo!" Erica called to her, firing a spell at her from behind.

Parker yelped and fell to the ground, turning around.

"Erica." She quickly rushed to her feet.

"Surprise!" Erica smiled.

"Erica, I'm not gonna hurt you.' Parker told her.

"And that will be your downfall." Erica chuckled.

"You're my best friend." Parker put her wand down.

"The feelings not mutual." Erica shrugged,"Crucio!"

Parker immediately cried out in agony as she fell to her knees.

"Bellatrix was right, this is really fun." Erica smirked.

"You'll really putting your life towards this?" Parker held her chest.

"Of course." Erica smiled,"Why wouldn't I?"

"Because its madness!"

"No, here is madness." Erica pointed,"Hogwarts doesn't care if it's students die! It's a school, we're meant to be safe!"

"I can't help that. But I want to help you!" Parker told her.

"Bullshit!" Erica snapped.

"Erica, just let me-" Parker began.

"No!" Erica stepped back,"I can't trust you."

"I've been your best friend since we were 11." Parker held her hand out.

Erica stayed silent.

"We made a promise, to stay together." Parker reminded her.

Erica sighed and rolled up her sleeve, she'd taken off their friendship bracelet... Parker glanced at her arm... The same arm she had her mark.

"..Well... Shows how long that lasted." Parker sighed.

"I suppose it was fun while it lasted." Erica raised her wand,"Avada Kedavra.."

Parker's body fell to the ground, lifeless. That's when Erica burst out laughing, covering her mouth.

"Did she really believe I cared?"
