64 - Lonely Little Bird
Phoenix was stood waiting on Matteo and the others, they said they'd meet her here. Although they were late, they promised they'd meet her.
"Come on.." Phoenix sighed.
About ten minutes later, they all showed up.
"You're late." Phoenix pointed.
"Sorry, class ran behind." Matteo held up his hands.
"Well, at least you came."
"How you feeling?" Trixie hummed.
"Tired." She shook her head.
"Class stressful?" Matteo asked.
"Not really."
"You have it easy for now."
"Well, if you all studied, it would be easier for you as well."
"We do study. We're just older." Cedar smiled.
"Uh huh." Phoenix nodded slowly.
"Let's go." Trixie skipped ahead.
"Go where?"
"Anywhere."
"Where do you want to go?" Cedar turned to her sister.
"Well, there's a book I've been meaning to get from the library." Phoenix told her.
"Race you." Trixie sped off.
"O-okay!" Phoenix ran after her.
"She been doing okay?" Matteo looked at Cedar.
"I think so, but she's still quiet around new people." Cedar nodded.
"She'll get used to everyone eventually." Matteo shrugged.
"Yeah, she'll be fine once she's settled."
"You heard from Frank?'
"Not recently, no. He won't talk to me." Cedar sighed.
"What about Nixie?"
"He'll take to her more than me, but still not a lot."
Matteo sighed as they finally caught up with the others. Phoenix smiled as she walked into the library, instantly heading over to the shelves.
"What book are you wanting?" Trixie ran her hands over the books
"This one.' Phoenix pulled out quite a large book with a red cover.
"It's massive."
"It's not that big." Phoenix shook her head.
"It's humongous." Trixie hummed.
"Not really, I've read longer."
"Reading bores me."
"I like reading, its fun."
"What's this book for?" Matteo blinked.
"Just for fun."
"For fun?" Matteo raised a brow,"Why do you read for fun?" He sighed.
"Why don't you?" Phoenix asked.
"Because I do other fun things."
"Like?"
"Um.." Matteo thought, looking off to the side.
"Go on, I'm listening."
"He doesn't read." Trixie nodded.
"Theo, its good for you." Phoenix sighed.
"I can read enough to let me pass, I don't need fancy words."
"But it can help you get a better pass."
"I can read." Matteo pointed.
"Theo, I'm just trying to help." Phoenix sighed.
"I don't need it." Matteo held up his hands.
"You don't need my help?"
"I don't."
"Fine then." Phoenix crossed her arms.
"You two are worse than me." Trixie sighed.
"Look, let's all just go get something to eat. Okay?" Cedar looked between them.
"Whatever." Matteo shook his head.
Phoenix sighed as the group started heading towards the Great Hall.
"I wonder what's on for dinner."
"I don't know, but I'm sure it will be nice." Cedar hummed.
"I'm thinking... A roast."
"Sounds good."
"Let's go." Matteo clapped and walked.
"We're going." Phoenix nodded.

After dinner, Phoenix noticed Frank talking with his friends. She had been meaning to talk to him. Phoenix looked around, making sure the others weren't paying attention, before she walked up to him.
"It's your sister." One of Frank's friends muttered before Frank turned around.
"Frank, I need to talk to you about something." Phoenix told him.
"I'm busy just now, Phoenix." Frank waved her off.
"It's important."
"Can it not wait?"
"No." Phoenix shook her head.
"Phoenix." Frank sighed,"We can talk later."
"Fine, whatever." Phoenix walked off, it really was important.
"Sorry about her guys." Frank watched Phoenix leave, turning back to them.
"It probably wasn't that important, she's just a kid." One of his friends assured him.
"Probably about a class." Frank agreed.
Phoenix sat back down with the others, it didn't look like she'd missed much.
"Oh Nixie- You're back." Matteo looked at her.
"Mhm." She nodded.
"Didn't even notice you were gone... Where did you go?"
"Oh, I just went to tell Frank about class. He wasn't interested."
"He never is." Cedar muttered.
"Well? What about you guys? Planning anything exciting?" Phoenix asked them.
"Well we've got the Hogsmeade trip soon, it's a shame you can't come." Trixie sighed.
"Yeah, it's fine. I don't mind staying because it'll be quiet here."
"You'll miss us though." Trixie nodded.
"Obviously."
"I'll buy you something, bring you it back." Cedar told her.
"Thank you." Phoenix smiled softly.
"Anything you fancy?"
"Not really, surprise me." She hummed.
"Will do." Cedar snapped her fingers.
Phoenix hugged her sister and Cedar hugged back before she pulled away.

The others had left for Hogsmeade by now. It was strange, Hogwarts had never felt so quiet to Phoenix before.
The others were always around, Trixie was always hyper, Matteo always telling her to quiet it down and Cedar would always check on her sister. She just felt... Lonely. She didn't really have anyone to talk to but she was too scared to try.
There was a group of girls nearby that she could talk to, they seemed..Nice.
Phoenix tugged on her tie nervously before she approached them,"Uh, hi."
"Hi... Can we help you?" A girl asked.
"Well, the only friends I have are all away at Hogsmeade. Would it be okay if I could be your friend?"
"What's your name?"
"Phoenix."
"That's a nice name. I'm Hallie." She smiled.
"Thanks- It's uh, nice to meet you."
"Say... Your brother is Frank, right?"
"Yes, he is my step-brother." Phoenix nodded slowly.
"Is he single?"
"Currently, yes. His girlfriend left him a few weeks ago."
"We'll let you be friends with us... If you can get him on a date with me."
"I mean- I could try but I don't think it would work out well." Phoenix shook her head.
"That's the rules." Hallie held up her hands.
"You're not his type anyway." Phoenix muttered.
"What was that?"
"I said you're not his type anyway."
Hallie scoffed,"You know what- No, you can't be friends with us."
"I'd rather not be friends with someone who just wants to use me."
"Then jog on." Hallie shrugged.
"I think I will." Phoenix walked away from them, she was just glad things didn't get physical.
Hallie scoffed and turned away from her.
Phoenix headed towards Ravenclaw common room, she'd just... Go read. Yeah... That'll be fine. Hopefully the others would be back soon, she just wanted them. She didn't want to be alone anymore, she hated it...
After a while, Phoenix got an owl. Phoenix stood up and took what the owl had brought her. It was a letter from Cedar, she was back and she had Phoenix's present.
Phoenix quickly hurried out of the common room so she could find her sister. When she did, Cedar was already on her way to the common room.
"Ced- Ced!" Phoenix ran up to her, quickly hugging her.
"Wh- Hi." Cedar laughed and hugged her.
"Please don't leave me alone again." Phoenix looked up at her.
"What happened?"
"It was too quiet and I tried talking to people- But the girls only wanted to be my friends if I could get them a date with Frank.." Phoenix told her,"And I really missed you.."
"I missed you too... Don't worry about stupid girls." Cedar sighed.
"I don't want you to go again.."
"I won't." Cedar stroked her sister's hair.
"Thank you." Phoenix closed her eyes.
"Would you like your present?"
"Y-yeah."
"Okay." Cedar went into the bag and handed her a bunch of sweets, from their uncle's shop.
Phoenix smiled as she took her present,"Thank you, Ced."
"Is it good?"
"It's good!"
"I'm glad, spent all my money on it."
"Why would you spend all your money on me?"
"Because you're my sister."
Phoenix hugged Cedar again, she just loved her sister so much.
"You're gonna be okay, okay?"
"I'll... I'll be okay."
"There we go." Cedar smiled.
"Can I... Stay in your common room tonight?"
"Of course you can." Cedar nodded.
"Thank you." Phoenix took her hand.
"Come on." Cedar hummed and walked off.
