Chapter 48 - Shell Cottage

Once they all appeared on a beach, Harry ran over to Ron, Hermione and Erica, Parker wasn't there, "We're all safe. It's fine."

"Where's Parker?" Erica asked, looking around.

Hermione weakly pointed in front of them, Parker was holding Dobby. Was he bleeding? Everyone swore that they could see Parker crying slightly.
Erica then looked back towards the the other end of the beach. Two people were walking out of the cottage by the rocks. The two walked over to the Herd, looking over at Parker and Dobby. It was Bill and Fleur.

"What happened? Why are you guys here?" Bill asked, bending down.

"We were at Malfoy Manor. Erica saved us and we disapparated with the help of Dobby but.." Harry looked over at Parker who was still holding the bleeding Dobby.

Erica stood up slowly before passing out, falling forward onto Bill.

Bill quickly held onto Erica, "We better get you all inside. Come on."

Hermione walked over to Parker as Harry and Ron followed Bill inside.

"Is he?" Hermione asked, not wanting it to be true.

Parker nodded slightly, looking up at Hermione, "Yeah."

Hermione looked down at the small elf,"The others are inside."

"I'll join you all in a few minutes. I just.. He needs like a grave or something." Parker sighed.

Hermione nodded slowly before turning and walking over to the cottage, leaving Parker out on the beach After a while, Parker came inside of the cottage, joining the others.

"Why were you all at the Manor?" Bill questioned, carrying a tray of glasses.

"Snatchers. We got caught." Ron answered.

"Even after I told you to he careful when you left Ron?" Bill asked, giving out the glasses of water.

"We were." Ron sighed, "They just caught us after we arrived at the tent."

"As long as you guys are alright." Bill stated, sitting down.

Hermione crossed her arms, "We got out alive, is the main thing."

"I was quite confused when those other people showed up, didn't give us much of a warning." Bill gestured to the stairs.

"Dobby brought them." Harry told him, "Before he came back for us."

"Is he alright? He didn't look so good when I saw him on the beach." Bill asked Parker.

Parker glanced at Bill before sighing, "My mother threw a dagger and it stabbed him. He's.. Dead."

Everyone sat in silence for a few minutes before Bill broke the silence.

"Should we give him a funeral?" He asked, looking around.

"I think that might be best." Fleur nodded, "It will help take your minds off things for a short while."

Harry nodded and stood up,"Let's do this."

"Where will we bury him?" Ron asked.

"There's some space where the tide doesn't reach, it's by the large rocks." Bill informed them.

"I covered him in my jacket, just beside the rocks." Parker stood up with the others.

"Will I wake Erica?" Ron asked.

"From what you told me Ron, I think we should let her sleep." Bill sighed, taking a shovel from the wall.

"She can visit him once she wakes up." Parker told Ron while they all walked outside.

They all walked over towards the rocks. Once they got there, Bill began digging a hole in the sand.

"Do you think we can engrave a rock?" Parker asked them, "For like a gravestone?"

"I don't see why not. Why don't you pick one while I dig." Bill suggested, still digging.

Parker nodded slowly, before asking the Herd, minus Erica, "Would you guys like to come?"

They nodded and walked across the beach with Parker, looking for a rock.

"What should be written on it?" Ron asked.

"Here lies Dobby, a free elf." Harry suggested, looking around.

"When was he born?" Hermione questioned.

"No idea. Longer than Draco and I have been alive." Parker shrugged, "Speaking of Draco, here."

She then handed everyone their wands.

"Thanks Parker." Ron thanked her as he tripped over a rock.

"You alright?" Hermione helped Ron steady himself.

Ron nodded,"I think Erica's rubbing off on me."

"Maybe she's giving you all her clumsiness." Harry suggested.

"Well, now I know what it's like to be her." Ron stated, looking at the rock.

The rock was pretty large, actually it looked like a gravestone.

"Should we use this rock?" Parker asked.

"I think so, it's flat do it would be easier to engrave." Hermione answered.

"Then this is the rock." Harry lifted the rock up.

They all headed back to Bill, who had finished digging by this point.

"We found a rock. Will it do?" Ron asked, pointing at the rock.

Bill nodded,"Have you decided what to engrave?"

"Harry suggested, 'Here lies Dobby, a free elf'." Hermione crossed her arms.

"Would you like me to do it or do you want to?" Bill asked them.

"You can do it, it'll be faster." Ron told Bill.

Bill nodded as he took the rock and began engraving what they asked. Eventually Bill finished engraving the stone, digging it into sand above Dobbys lifeless body in the grave, although he was covered with the sand. Bill wiped his hands down on his jeans and picked up the shovel.

"There we go." Bill sighed sadly.

"It's better than what house elves normally get." Parker crossed her arms, "I think Dobby would like it."

"At least he's at peace now." Hermione reminded them.

"And he died doing what he did most. Helping people." Harry stated.

"He really was goof at that, wasn't he?" Ron asked, looking at the grave.

"He was the best at it." Parker nodded.

"He'll be up there and they'll be lot's of clothes for him." Ron sighed, looking up at the sky.

They all nodded solemnly.

"Come on, let's get inside." Fleur began walking back to the cottage.

The others soon followed her inside and saw Erica asleep at the bottom of the stairs.

"Looks like she moved to come downstairs but couldn't make it." Ron chuckled.

"Do you think she fell down the stairs?" Harry asked.

"Let's hope not." Hermione shook her head.

"I'll take her back upstairs." Bill told them, as he picked her up.

"We need to talk to the Goblin anyway." Harry told the girls and Ron.

"Upstairs it is then." Ron sighed, walking up the stairs after Bill.

They all followed after Ron, knocking on the door before they walked in.

"How are you feeling?" Harry asked.

"Better than before." Griphook replied, not looking at them.

"You probably don't remember, but you-" Harry began.

"Showed you to your vault the first time you came to Gringotts? Even amongst goblins you're the famous Harry Potter." Griphook interjected.

Harry walked over to the window and looked out of it.

"You buried the elf." Griphook put his hands together.

"Yes." Harry nodded.

"And brought me here. Very unusual isn't it?" Griphook asked before gesturing to the sword,"How'd you come across that sword?"

Harry looked at the sword before back at Griphook, "It's complicated. Why does Bellatrix Lestrange think it should be at her vault in Gringotts?"

"It's complicated." Griphook whispered.

Harry looked at the others, knowing Griphook wanted his answer first so he looked back, "The sword presented itself to us at a moment of need. We didn't steal it."

"There is a sword in Madame Lestrange's vault identical to this one but it is a fake. It was placed there this past summer." Griphook informed him.

"And she never suspected it was a fake?" Harry questioned.

"The replica is very convincing. Only a goblin could tell that this was the real sword of Gryffindor." Griphook explained.

"Who was the acquaintance?" Parker asked.

"A Hogwarts professor." Griphook told her before adding,"Though I believe he's now Headmaster."

"Snape? He put a fake sword in Bellatrix's vault? Why?" Ron asked.

"To trick her, why else?" Erica answered, standing behind them in the doorway.

"Welcome back to the world." Hermione nodded while they moved so she could come in.

"But there is more than a few curious things at Gringotts." Griphook added.

"Mind telling us what they are?" Erica asked, arms crossed.

"Perhaps." Griphook glanced at Erica.

"We need to get into Gringotts, into one of the vaults." Harry crossed his arms.

"Bellatrix's in particular." Hermione added on.

"It's impossible." Griphook stated.

"Alone, yes. But with you, no." Harry shook his head.

"Who said I'd help?" Griphook asked him.

"Don't test my patience." Erica sighed, looking down at him.

"I have gold, lots of it." Harry informed him.

"I don't want gold. I want.. That." Griphook pointed to the sword, "That's my prize."

"Don't we need that to destroy the Horcruxes?" Ron asked, looking over at Harry.

"There's all different ways to destroy horcruxes." Parker stated.

"Not many." Hermione reminded her,"It's your choice Harry."

Harry sighed before he nodded, "You can have it."

"So, I have an idea. What if Parker pretends to be Bellatrix so we can get in?" Erica suggested before yawning.

"I'm sorry?" Parker blinked and turned to Erica.

"I mean, aside from your hair not being curly and you looking way younger, you guys look pretty similar." Erica told her.

"So you want me to be my mother?" Parker asked.

"You have her wand." Ron stated, "All you need to do is curl your hair and change into clothes she'd wear then you'd be identical."

"And who said Ron wasn't that smart?" Erica asked before realising,"Oh wait, that was us."

They all let out a small chuckle while the left Griphooks room, closing the door.

"Bellatrix never travels without one or more Death Eaters." Parker stated, "One of you guys would have to dress as one."

"I volunteer, anyone else?" Erica looked around.

"I will." Ron raised his hand.

"Great. Hermione, Griphook and I will hide under my invisibility cloak." Harry nodded.

"Come on Ron, let's go play dress up." Erica dragged him to another room.

"This'll be fun." Parker sighed before she went into a different room.

After a while, Ron was pushed out of the room and he actually looked kind of intimidating.

"You really got a beard?" Hermione laughed, walking up to him.

"Erica said it would make me look older." Ron stated, arms crossed as Erica walked out.

She looked relatively normal until she stopped smiling. That's when Ron backed away from her.

"Okay, yeah. Little bit scary." Harry nodded, looking at Erica.

Erica shrugged before leaning against the wall.

Soon enough, Parker came out of the room while she moved some loose curls out of her face, "I hate my hair."

She did look pretty identical to Bellatrix.

"You don't look that bad, now let's go." Erica assured her, standing up straight.

"Right then." They all walked downstairs, saying goodbye to Bill and Fleur before heading out to the beach.
