xxi - dramione
The clock struck, 5.45pm. The guests would be arriving soon.
Draco took the picnic basket he had filled with a few of his favorite books, two cans of coca-cola and some snacks. He checked the time once more before he opened the window. Thank god he had gotten a bedroom on the first floor. Even though it was a reminder of how snooty he used to be.
He shook all of his thoughts when he heard his mother calling his name. He had left a note to one of his butlers, Dobby, so he could tell him that Draco was hanging out with a couple of boys from school. He snuck out quickly out of the gates, and walked slower when he was out of the security cameras distance.
Well, he didn't need to considering he also asked Dobby to turn it off. But just to be safe. Draco decided to go comfortable for this night, so he wore a pair of grey sweatpants, a dark green shirt and a pair of nikes. The park he had in mind was very far from his house. Considering the fact that it was way too big and was in the rich part of the town. With the gates and the whole packages.
But those were great when the security guard had a card that hung around his neck and fell asleep at night.
While he was walking he started to think about... anything, really. He was starting to talk more with Pansy and Blaise again, also somehow connecting better with Theo, Daphne, Tracy, even Crabbe and Goyle! He remembered back when they were all around eight and nine. Crabbe and Goyle used to be bullies, big and brute, and pushed people around. They kind of separated. Crabbe sold weed and earned a lot of money, Goyle got in the underground wrestling business. Still not better than bullies but you could at least have a conversation with them now.
His father yelled at him a few days ago, always the same thing. Why are you number two, what did we do wrong, that nuisance Hermione Granger is nothing but a dentists daughter who has the worst teeth so why is she better than you? It was so frustrating. He did want to talk about it with that girl but he was a guy. His father always taught him to never show his feelings.
And about Hermione Granger. She got the best score in class when they were making that script. He had everything planned out in perfection, a story about Artemis and Orion that he had made up with the mystery girl. Since she wasn't in the same school as him, he thought, why not make it into a script the next week later when Professor Binns asked them to. And them, Professor Binns, said he cheated. What the hell?
He didn't cheat, he made it up all by himself. And guess who got the number one spot? Hermione freaking Granger. She frustrated him in a lot of aspects in life.
Mystery girl was also in his mind a lot. She was intriguing, and very smart. She had an amazing personality, but he just couldn't give her a name to her personality.
"Malfoy?"
"Granger?"
Hermione's eyes widened comically when she saw someone walking in the park. Oh shit. When she gave him the advice this morning, she thought he would go to that park near his house. Not the local park.
"What are you doing here?" She asked.
"What are you doing here?"
"I asked you first."
"Mother is holding a party for her and her friends. And father's friends. And my friends. But I decided to ditch."
"Why?"
"It's your turn to answer the question Granger."
"My friends wanted to go to a concert and my parents are on vacation. I was bored so I came here."
"What about dinner?"
She raised an eyebrow at him and stood up, gesturing to the pizza and salad behind her. He made a little 'ooh' noise before cursing under his breath.
"Don't curse."
"You're not my mother."
"And thankfully you're not my child."
"Do you mind... sharing?" He asked her awkwardly.
"And why would I do that?"
"Because I may have only brought a sandwich even though I plan on staying till' 9?"
"Fine." Hermione rolls her eyes and Draco smiled slightly before sitting down next to her. He opened his picnic basket and handed her a coke can, which she accepted. The next thing he took up was,
"You read the mortal instruments?"
"Of course, anybody with good taste would."
"Not everybody."
"Then they don't have good taste. Do you, Granger?"
"Yes. I haven't gotten into the tv series though."
Time seemed to fly by for the both of them.
They laughed, talked about books, and school, even stargazed together. He told her basic stuff about him and she did the same. It was 9.30 when she decided to pack up her bags, which he followed soon. They walked together in silence until they reached her house, "This was fun. But don't tell anybody alright Malfoy?"
He laughed slightly and shook his head. They didn't say goodbye, just walked to their own destinations. He reached home and snuck back into his room. Where he saw his parents, Pansy and Blaise staring at him. Some with fury, one with a guilty look and one who looked like he wanted to go home. Oh, boy.
