The way he does things is perfect. He always gets distracted whenever he tries to concentrate on something. Like, tests at school. He always tries to ace them, but he gets distracted by something and fails. Sometimes he gets a good score, but he's never gotten an 100% or an A+ before on tests. I don't know why I think this is perfect, but I have a guess: I'm lovesick and getting distracted makes Dan, well, Dan. I just hope that one day, any day, Dan will get distracted because of me.

And yes, you heard me right. I'm lovesick. I have been ever since I started loving Dan, but this year, it's the worse. I think that just about everything he does is either attractive, cute, hot, or all three of them. I've gone crazy about him, but I've done a good job at keeping it a secret. Well, at least I think so. Probably, since he doesn't know yet.

He is just amazing and I can never get sick of him. Like, ever.

"NATALIE!!!" I hear a voice screech. I haven't heard that voice in about two weeks. I turn and see Melissa standing there. "MELI!!" I scream and hug her.

"Finally!" I say. "I haven't seen you in forever!!" I was absolutely happy that she was back. I missed her. Sure, hanging out with Dan was amazing. But I need some girl time, too. With girls my age, not like Amy and Ashley. They're great and all, but I really need my best friend, besides Dan.

"Hey," she said, "has Dan finally kissed you yet?" She winked and gave me a small nudge. I laughed and responded, "No, I don't think he ever will."

She said, "He will, trust me. He'll eventually fall for you." She winked once again, but the first bell rang so she started running off while yelling, "I'll see you in History!!"

"Bye!" I yelled back. And right after that, someone jumped on me. Literally. I screamed with terror and turned to see who it is. And there before my eyes, I saw the best person in the entire world. The love of my life. My everything. Dan. I slapped him.

"Ow!" he screamed. "What was that for?" "For sneaking up on me and scaring the hell out of me." "Well, sorry for trying to surprise my best friend in the whole entire world," he argued. He looked so cute right now that I felt the need to just want to kiss him. He was hugging me from my back and his arms were wrapped around me and it felt like I should've . . . but then the warning bell rang. Which meant we had to go to class, which meant me and Dan will be going our separate ways until lunch, which is in two hours. Ughhh . . .

Why is Montie Monroe talking to Dan with her finger twirling her hair?!?!?! Oh, that girl better get away from him in three seconds or I will -"Nat! Calm down!" Melissa was grabbing my hands. I looked down.

I didn't even realize that I stood up and had my hands into fists. If Meli had let me gone over there, I would probably beaten Montie up and then it would've been obvious to Dan that I like him. And I wouldn't want that to happen, would I?

I hug Melissa. "Thank you," I whispered. I sat back down as she whispered back, "What are besties for?"

Dan and I usually sit together at lunch, but since it's Meli's first day back, he wanted us to have some alone time with our other best friends. He's sitting with some old friends of his.

At my table, everyone was talking about Meli and asking her about her trip and all. I barely payed any attention. I was busy secretly staring at Dan. He's perfect. I sigh. He's never going to be mine, is he?

Good thing I have Dan in sixth and seventh period. Without Melissa or any of the girls. I always enjoy my Dan time. He may not be officially mine, but he will always be mine in my heart. And in my head.

"Hey, little girl," Dan greets me when I walk into Science. I grunt. "I'm only two months younger than you!! My birthday is this Friday!" I argue.

"How could I forget? You won't shut up about it" he jokes and we both laugh. We take our seats and the boring class begins.

At home, I was treated with a very spectacular surprise. Words couldn't explain how happy I was. And no, Dan didn't ask me out. That would be amazing, but no. But someone came to visit me . . .
