Chapter 2
Jade sighed as she sat on a bench of a picnic table. No one was with her, and she was alone, her first day at school hadn't been the greatest, but it wasn't her worst either. She opened a book on the table and looked at the words inside, her science class would be having a new test soon, and she was not ready, especially since every night she had a hard time.
The people around her didn't give her an easy time, Dizzy had it a lot easier than she did, Jade, on the other hand, was cast out. She stared at the words, it was hard for her, she was never a science kind of girl, and she read them over and over, trying her best to understand what they meant.
"Hey." A familiar voice said.
Jade turned her head to see Jay, Carlos, Evie, and Mal. She closed the textbook and smiled. Watching as the four strode over to her, they seemed to have just finished their day, maybe after talking with others.
"Studying?" Evie asked as she took a seat beside Jade.
"Yeah." She replied as she looked into Evie's dark brown eyes.
Jay slipped in beside her, Carlos and Mal sat opposite to her at the table. Evie took the textbook and opened it, she read a few words on the tagged pages. "Do you need help learning this?" She finally asked.
"A little," Jade shyly said.
"There's nothing to be ashamed of," Carlos said as he rubbed Dude's head.
Mal watched them, her eyes fell on Jay, she sighed as she saw a gleam in Jay's eyes. Mal knew a lot about Jay, she knew more than he did. Including a secret that Jafar had shared with her.
Evie turned her head and watched as three young kids came by and whispered in each other's ears. They passed behind them and stared at Jade for a moment, they snickered and walked away.
She turned to see Jade's shoulders slump as she took her bag from under the bench. She took the textbook and shoved it into her bag and stood up, she brought her leg back and got off the bench.
Jay watched as Jade walked away, back to the dorms. He looked to the others they seemed confused, or at least didn't know why she had left. He waved them over to go back into the building.
"Why did she just leave like that?" Mal asked as she walked by Jay's side.
He turned his head to her. "Didn't you hear what was going on?"
"No," Carlos said. "None of us did.
"Well," Jay let out a breath. "Jade is getting bullied, just like we were. Remember when Aubrey and Jane were talking about Mal when we got here?"
"I remember," Carlos said. "It wasn't a great time for us."
"That's what those kids were doing." He replied as he walked into his dorm.
Evie looked at Mal, they both knew Jafar's secret, but Jay and Carlos didn't, and it was dangerous for Jade to come here. Mal walked into her dorm room and Evie walked away, towards Dizzy and Jade's dorm room.

"Don't you understand these concepts?" Evie asked as she pointed at a picture of a plane.
Jade paced the room and turned to Evie. "No, I'm sorry I don't."
"How much do you know?" Evie asked.
"Little." She replied.
Evie thought about how she hadn't known much about science like Jade hadn't. About her first friend from Auradon.
"I have the perfect tutor for you," Evie said as she got out up and walked towards the door. "I'll be back in a moment."
Jade sat at the table staring at the book, she stared and tried her best to understand the concepts and the words, but the words just look like blurs of things she didn't understand. She felt like a failure, she could only understand so little.
"Hey, I heard you need help." Jade turned her head to see a boy with glasses walk in. "I'm Doug." He said as he took a chair and sat beside her.
Evie walked in behind him and shut the door, she sat on Dizzy's bed and watched as Doug taught Jade.

"How did the test go?" Carlos asked as he watched Jade exit the school.
"Fine." She replied quietly, she slung her bag off her shoulder and shoved some papers in.
Carlos strode over to her. "What happened?"
"Nothin'" she replied as she hurried down the steps.
"What's the mark?" He asked as he followed her towards the dorms.
Jade stared at Carlos, she walked towards her dorm room and stopped in front of the door. "Why do you keep following me?" She took out her key and opened the door. "And I got an A, 92 out of 100."
"Nice." Carlos stepped into the room, following Jade. "What's bothering you?"
"Nothing." She threw her bag onto the bed and smiled at Dizzy who was just reading a book on her bed. "Hi Dizzy."
"Sup', did they do it again?" Dizzy asked as she closed her book.
Jade looked at her and shook her head, as if saying, 'Don't ask.' she turned to Carlos. "Anything you need?"
"For you to tell the truth," Carlos replied as he leaned on the wall.
The door opened and Mal strode in Evie and Jay trailing behind her.
"Truth about what?" Mal asked as she sat on Jade's bed.
Carlos looked at the others. "I don't know, she just isn't gonna tell me."
Jade looked to Dizzy, she wasn't smiling as she usually would, Dizzy knew it was a serious situation and that it wasn't easy to talk about.
"Is something going on?" Evie asked. "Was it the test?"
"I did fine, thanks to Doug." She said as she watched Evie sit with Mal.
Jay stared at her, she felt strange with his dark eyes on her. He crossed his arms and leaned on the poles of the canopy bed. "What's wrong?" He said softly.
Jade didn't open her mouth but Dizzy did.
