- Lee Minseo's POV -
Upon hearing the sound of the irksome alarm ringing through my ears, I lazily rubbed my eyes and stretched over to reach for my phone, silencing the stupid tone. And I actually thought it was a Saturday...
My jaw dropped when I glanced at the time in disbelief.
"Half seven!? I'm gonna be late!" Practically flying out of bed as fast as I could, flinging clothes everywhere in an attempt to get dressed.
My name is Lee Minseo and I'm a 97 liner. I live by myself in my apartment, but I'm not one of those girls whose parents 'tragically died in an accident' or 'kicked them out'. I've lived a pretty normal life so far.
There was no time for a shower this morning. I mean, I don't smell that bad, and it's not like it can't be fixed with a bit of deodorant, right?
After a lot of running and dodging slow walkers, I managed to arrive at the swimming centre. I work as a lifeguard, which kinda sucks since I just sit around all day, but I prefer sitting around in front of a pool in comparison to sitting around in front of a desk and computer.
I bet you were expecting me to work in a coffee shop or something. Well actually, my first choice was a coffee shop, but I didn't get the job. Sucks, right?
Eh, oh well. I probably should've stayed in school, but I was never the sharpest tool in the shed. I really tried in my final exams, but I just barely passed, so I gave up on the idea of universities and decided that work was the place for me.
"Tch, late again Minseo!" Sehun teased. Oh Sehun works here with me, but he's a 94 liner and subsequently 3 years older than me. We're good friends, but he mostly hangs out with his 'hyungs' when he's not working.
It's quite funny actually, people round here form 'groups' of friends, and then give that group a name. A bit like gangs, minus the violence and the rivalry; seems more like a trend to me. I don't bother with it, but I know a lot of people who do.
Sehun here is in one of said groups called EXO, and I sometimes see his friend Baekhyun - who's so flirty it's almost annoying - come in to pick him up after work.
"Sorry Boss." I joked, causing a small chuckle to arise from his abdomen. Following this we split up into the separate changing rooms, only to change and meet up a couple minutes later.
"How's things?" He asked once we'd settled down on watch duty. AKA sitting by the edge of the pool and doing nothing.
"Good." I replied, a quirky smile on my face.
"Still going out with Jungkook?" The smirk on his face continued to grow, almost teasingly.
"You say that like its a surprise." I pretended to sound offended, but just laughed it off. "Yeah, we're still dating."
"Ahh, good for you." He smiled, but then his expression changed, causing him to sigh. "I wish I could be in a relationship like you two, you're such a cute couple."
"I don't know whether to pity you or thank you on the compliment." I tried to lighten the mood. "So I'll-"
Sadly, I was cut off by the loud, deep voice that belonged to one of the fellow co-workers, yelling at Sehun to 'get his ass in gear'.
"I've gotta go now, back in a bit." Another sigh escaped his lips, and with that, he left. I then sighed myself, returning back to watching people enjoy themselves while I was stuck on low pay wishing I was somewhere else.
I was on pool cleaning duty, when I suddenly felt hands cover my eyes, and I knew someone was behind me.
"Guess who~" He cooed. Now, I knew exactly who it was, but I thought I'd have a little fun.
"Hmm.... Is it Jimin?" I asked.
"Noooo~"
"Hobi?" I asked again.
"Minseo!" He whined.
"Don't worry, I know it's you Kookie." I smiled, and my vision was granted once again. I span round to face my beautiful, sexy boyfriend, Jeon Jungkook.
"Ahh, don't tease me like that!" He pretended to be sad. "I was upset."
"I'm sorry Kookie." I sighed, pouting.
"Prove it." He smirked.
"What?" I asked, smirking a little.
"Gimme a kiss and I'll forgive you." He smirked, tapping his cheek.
"Hmm, I dunno..." I teased, smirking up at Jungkook.
"Please?" He smiled, so I leant forward and gave him a peck on the lips.
"There you go," I smiled. "Now I need to get back to work or I'll be fired."
"You should come round to the dorm later." Jungkook suggested. "I'd walk you there but I need to get to the store."
"Okay, I'll come round when my shift ends, see you later." I waved Jungkook goodbye as he left the swimming baths. He shouldn't have really been here, but I guess being a cop has its perks.
Hours passed and (sadly) lunch break had to end, but it was 5:00pm, and my shift was finally over.
"See you tomorrow Sehun!" I smiled, walking out the door after coming out the changing rooms.
"Bye Minseo! Be safe!" I heard Sehun yell from a distance before I set off on my way to the dorm.
'The dorm' is where Jungkook lives with his 'hyungs'. Yes, they're in a friend group too, it's called BTS, and in their spare time they compose music! Isn't that cool?
I don't know his hyungs very well, but I have met them a couple times before and they're really nice.
Finally reaching my destination, I knocked on the door, which was opened by Min Yoongi.
"Oh! Yo, Minseo." Yoongi looked surprised to see me at first, but then smirked and let me in the dorm.
"Yo, Yoongi!" I replied, mimicking his 'Swag'.
"You seem brave entering a den filled with horny boys." Yoongi joked.
"Oh don't worry hyung!" I heard Jungkook yell from another room, then I saw him walk through a door and into the room. He sauntered over to me and slung an arm around my shoulder.
"I'll keep watch over Minseo." He smiled, staring down at me. I could feel his gaze burn through my skull, but I noticed Yoongi look away as if he were uncomfortable.
"H-hey, Jungkook, c'mon." I sighed, lifting his arm off my shoulder. "Not around your hyungs." I heard him sigh, but then he replied with a nod. We walked into the kitchen, where Jungkook announced:
"Guys! We have a guest!"
"Minseo!" Everyone else was in the kitchen, about to settle down and eat food: Seokjin, Namjoon, Hoseok, Jimin and Taehyung.
"Hi everyone!" I waved and smiled, as they all greeted me.
"It's been so long!"
"I haven't seen you in ages!"
"It's nice to see you again."
"Minseo, sit down and try some stew!" Jin smiled, gesturing to the stew in the middle of the table.
"Ooh yes! I love stew." I grinned and sat down round the table, followed by the 7 others.
When Jin and I first met, he agreed to teach me to cook since I was living by myself, but most of the time I just get Jungkook to bring me food that Jin's made. It's easier.
Yoongi and I are newly found swag masters. He plays basketball every now and again which I think is pretty cool. Also, every time we see each other we say 'yo' because according to Yoongi it's cool.
Namjoon loves to write and produce music in his free time, and he's also one of the smartest people I know. His music taste is impeccable, I must say, and he likes to get the rest of BTS to compose music with him. Pretty cool huh?
Hoseok, well, I'm meant to call him 'Hobi' because it sounds like 'hope' and he always goes round saying 'I am your hope.' Or whatever. He loves dancing, a lot. I remember last time I visited I was listening to Namjoon's tunes while crazily dancing with Hoseok. My dancing wasn't so good, but his? Incredible.
Jimin and I just clicked instantly. It's quite funny actually, you'd think Jimin would be that masculine, hard guy type, but he's so cute it's hilarious. Also, him trying to do aegyo is the funniest thing ever, he's cute but he really can't do aegyo. Jimin and serious are two things that don't mix.
Taehyung is crazy. Like, when I mean crazy, I mean 100% random. One minute he'll be talking about how hats should be bags and the next minute it'll be how inconvenient kettles are. I find it quite amusing how unpredictable he is.
Then there's Kookie. Me and Jungkook have been going out for two years now, and there's no one in the whole world I love more than him. We met in the last year of high school and we've been going out ever since. Yes, we've done things, but I'm not ashamed of it because we love each other, and we're in it for the long run.
"Oh damn, look at the time!" Namjoon yelled. "We've gotta get to the recording studio!"
"Recording studio?" I asked. "Are you finally gonna record your song professionally?"
"Haha, yep!" Namjoon smiled.
"That's so cool!" I smiled.
"We need to go." Jin sighed, and everyone stood up from the table.
"You guys go ahead," Jimin sighed. "I need to get something from my room."
"Okay." The rest of BTS walked out the door, leaving me putting my shoes on and Jimin in his bedroom.
"Minseo!?" Jimin yelled. "Come here a minute please?"
"Coming!" I replied, walking into his bedroom. Not as smelly as I expected. The dim light made its way through the small window of Jimin's shared bedroom, leaving his silhouette standing in his room whilst I closed the door. "Everything okay?"
Jimin walked towards me, going passed the distance considered respectable. I stepped back, but my back hit the wall, and Jimin stood right in front of me. "What are you doing?" I tried to laugh it off, but he wasn't laughing.
"Minseo." Jimin bluntly said my name, which made me stop smiling immediately; I don't think I've ever seen Jimin this serious before.
"Yeah?" I questioned.
"I.. really like you." He mumbled, looking up to meet my eyes.
"What?" I stared back at him, confusion written on my face.
"I like you, Minseo." He repeated, more lustful this time. "I have done for a while."
"Hey, come on." I frowned, not believing him. "Let's get going before-"
"Minseo." He stopped me. "We have time, just.. for a little while." He whispered, getting slowly closer. "Can we-?"
"What are you saying?" I asked, "I'm with Junkgook and you know that." He leaned towards my ear, and gently reached his hand up to touch my face.
"Jungkook doesn't need to know." He whispered, caressing my cheek with his thumb.
"Get off." I told him, getting annoyed with his sick joke.
"Don't act like you don't want me." He smirked suddenly. "We all know what you've done with our innocent maknae." He leant closer and pressed his body against mine, and I felt his hot breath against the cold skin on my neck.
"What the fuck are you doing?" I whispered, pushing against his chest. "Get off me."
"Hyung?" Jungkook's voice called in through the door. Jimin froze in panic, realising what he was doing and stepped away from me.
"Fuck- I-I'm sorry. I- I don't know what that was.. Don't tell Jungkook, please."
"Hyung!? Are you there?" Jungkook yelled again, and Jimin looked at me once more. "Please? I don't want to make things awkward in our group."
'You just did pal,' I wanted to say, but I didn't want to ruin Jungkook's long term friendship, so I agreed to keep a secret.
"Everything alright?" Jungkook asked worriedly as we both stepped out the room.
"Yeah, I was just helping Jimin find his jacket." I lied. I'd hate to be the reason for their friendship to fall to shambles, so I just hope that Jimin doesn't pull something stupid like that again.
"Okay then. I'll see you guys soon!" I smiled, walking out the door.
"Minseo!" I turned and saw Kookie behind me. He leaned in and gave me a quick kiss.
"Stay safe." He smiled, and I smiled back. "I'll come visit after my shift tonight."
"I will. See you later." And then they all left, leaving me to walk home.
