6:45am

Its Monday already and before I know it my phone is blowing up as early as it is. I rub my eyes quickly to see who it was.

J: good morning Syd.

J: its Monday! And I'm pretty sure u know wat dat means 😁 its the first day of our renewed friendship.

J: anyways, I have a surprise for you🧚🏽‍♀get dressed and come outside before 7:15

I huff and close my eyes as I remember our bet we agreed on last weekend.

I get up after a good 5 minutes of being on my phone to freshen up.

I check the time again after going downstairs and its 7:34 already and I quickly get a apple from the fridge before leaving.
"Alright I'm leaving!!" I yelled to make sure my parents know I was leaving. Before I could even step out all I heard was a loud honk and a big smile plastered on Jasmine's face.

I face palmed myself and I almost turned back around to go back inside.

I don't even know why I agreed to this when I know my bus comes for 8 and yet here I am.

"Good mornnninnngggg Syd!!! Come on get in." She yelled with a stupid grin.

I dragged my feet across the grass and forced a fake smile when I get in her car.
And of course she still has this stupid smile on her face that I had a urge to smack off.

"So?"

"What do you mean so? Why are We even here? This is Way before the time I have to get up for the bus too I hope you know that. "
She smirked then let out a small chuckle. "Of course I do, I used to stalk you remember? But that's old now.. and by the way, being nicer would make this easier for you, I enjoy your angriness I think its cute, so I don't Care." She shrugged off while looking at me.

I squint my eyes up at her and decide not to even comment on it. Soon after she begins driving. After a minute I realized that we're not even going to school.

Where the hell are we going??" I said alarmed. She continued looking at the road while driving and simply said "to eat breakfast of course."

I huffed looking out the window. Maybe If I just try to force myself to being nicer maybe this would be easier, maybe she's right, but she doesn't need to know that. Plus i am hungry anyways.

After a few minutes of being caught up in my head we pull up to a small café called "Mocha Avenue"

My eyes widened. She noticed and smiled.

Of course she would bring me to my favorite cafe.

"I knew you would like my surprise. See I'm not so bad." She hummed while getting out and I shortly get out afterwards.

"Just because we're getting breakfast doesn't mean I'll give in so easily."

"You're so feisty, I swear."

"I know."

After about 20 minutes of eating and small talk we walk out and head to school.
The ride to school was quiet but comforting. Nothing needed to be said, I guess.

Once We pulled up and entered the school, we waived each other off and parted ways, "See you after school?" She asked. "Why?"
"Oh um I was just asking." "Well.. do you mind if Mya tag along then?"

She muttered something along the words of wanting it to be just me and her.

"Sounds fine with me." She nodded.

"Alright," I smiled. "Thanks for the breakfast and the ride by the way." I hugged her.

She Hugged back happily, and I could've sworn she sniffed my hair.

"Did you-"

"ANYWAYS, I have to get to class but see you soon!"

She jogged off quicker than usual. I squinted my eyes as she disappears into the big crowds of the school, and soon after I do the same after shrugging it off.

Its first period and I'm greeted with a disappointed Mya folding her arms.
"So, What happened this time?"
"Well actually I have some good news. Remember Jasmine?"
"Who?"
"The girl who came and spoke to me like last week?"
"Oh yeahhh, what about her?"
"Well um, we're friends now and she offered to drop us home."
"So, you just became friends out of nowhere and now we're taking rides from random people?? Did I hear u correct?"

I awkwardly smile. "Well actually, its a long story..."

"Oh yea the 'story' you were supposed to tell me about a week ago?"

"Okay Okay look, just trust me on this one Okay, I promise she won't be bad. At least she's giving us a ride." I continue to ramble on. She just rolled her eyes and nodded in agreement.

"You're lucky we're good friends." She continued shooting daggers at me.

"Thankkkk youuuu" i said while I gave her a kiss on her cheek, which she smiled afterwards and rolled her eyes.

Soon after, Ms. Hall asked for everyone's attention and started class.

It was lunch now and everyone at our table are peacefully eating while Mya and our friend Thomas argues about who knows what.

"He's obviously the better one, I mean c'mon look at him!!" Thomas screamed.

"No he's not Hes not even built right look at his head c'mon bro really??" Mya sat back down while rolling her eyes.

"Can we all just agree that whatever stupid show y'all are talking about is irrelevant. Cause NOBODY CARES!! And I'm also trying to eat here just in case you didn't notice." Our friend Serena showed off her fake smile and continued eating after getting a few angry stares around the table. She's usually always spicy but she actually has a point this time.

"Mannnnn whatever," she smacked her teeth and continued talking. "So anyways...new episode is coming on tonight, who's watching?"

I and the majority of the table just shrugged besides Thomas. "You already know I am."

"Wow, see sometimes I wonder if Thomas is the only friend I have," She shed a fake tear dramatically. "Not even you Syd." I just continue eating not saying anything.

"I'm just trying to eat in peace.." I looked off , while Serena nodded in agreement taking a bite of her salad.

Lunch ended not too long after and before we knew it, the bell had rung. Everyone came out from everywhere, ready to leave just as much as I was. I texted Mya already to meet me by the back where the cars are.

I start walking towards the back and already Jasmine starts creeping up out of nowhere.

"Hey Syd."

"Hi."

"I um, I was wondering ya know, if you wanted to do something this weekend?"

"Uh..maybe I mean I think I'll be busy this weekend going somewhere with my mom."
That was a lie.

"Oh, well then um maybe want to hang out after school one of these days?"

I looked at her and could tell she really wanted this to happen. I felt bad but it's only the first day and I'm not letting her go so easily.

"I'll think about it." I gave her a tight smile.

"Yay!"

She literally jumped up and down in excitement. I feel bad for lying now but it is what it is. Eventually though, I will make up for it.

No too long afterwards, Mya appears, and we automatically smile and hug each other. "Mya, meet Jasmine." She gave her a small smile and waved. "So, this is the girl you were supposed to tell me about, eh?" Jasmine's eyes went wide, and she looked at me so quickly I could've sworn she had snapped her neck. At this point I already knew she caught the wrong idea...I didn't pay her any mind though. i smile awkwardly smile. "Well i..."

"Its okay," She looked back at Jasmine and began introducing herself. "Hello, I'm Mya." She put out her hand to shake. Jasmine shortly took it and said likewise. 

"Now that that's settled, let's go." I said and we all hopped in afterwards, Jasmine started the car, and we were on our way.

After about five minutes of me and Mya talking and Jasmine quietly listening, Mya suddenly interrupts, "So, Jasmine," She says in a mocking tone, "How exactly did you meet my friend here?" She ends with a cheeky smile. My eyes go wide, "Jasmine you bet n-" 

"No, no, you had your time to explain and you decided not to, so now its Jasmine's turn don't ya think? Don't be rude now." Mya said in a fake calm way, while patting my shoulder, I stared Jasmine in the rear view mirror, as if saying "you bet not." 

"well, we actually met in the school library, she dropped her books and I helped and now here we are."
"that's not that bad, i don't know why it took you so long to tell me, you were acting like you guys met in a dark alleyway or something." Mya said now looking at me. 

I just shrugged and looked out the window, while we approach Mya's apartment. As she step out we hug, say our goodbyes, drive off and the silence creeps through into the air right after. I continue staring out the window, [while thinking about something to say but i couldn't gather anything to do so.] [Being] somewhat deep in thought, I looked up at the rear view mirror following my intuition, and I see a pair of eyes looking back at me then quickly away. 

"...I'm..i'm not even gonna say anything." I continued minding my business. "But you just did..." She said while looking at the road. "Shut up." 

"...shut don't go up..." she quietly murmured but I still heard.

"Jasmine I swear to god." 

"Okay okay sheesh I was just joking," I roll my eyes. "It's the truth though."

"you're so aggravating i swear sometimes i just wanna choke you." 

"I mean, go right ahead I'm not gonna put up a fight." She looked at me through the rear-view mirror and wiggled her eyebrows at me. 

I laughed at her gesture cause it was too hard to just keep a grudge at this point. 

"Man whatever.." 

"See! i made you laugh though! I knew it'd work." She smiled. I paused and pursed my lips. "I was laughing at something on my phone, and by the way can you turn on some music?" She does a fake pout, "But i love talking to you." I do a fake pout back, "But i love listening to music even more." I added in my infamous puppy eye look and she sighed while she turn on the radio. I gave a wide wrinkled smile, "Yay." 

The beginning of "Hello Hello Hello" by Remi Wolf starts playing and you already know I'm singing the hell out of this. 

{"There he go,,, my baby never answers in the room, steps outside, or puts it on snooze, he just do whatever he do, me and my baby used to wake up a little pass noon now he's wakin up too soon to get on the phone with you..."}  I wildly shout out. Jasmine has this look on her face that's basically saying what the hell. "Why are you looking like that? I have a very beautiful singing voice just so you know." I fold my arms and dramatically look away. 

"Yeah, you sound um, very..very interesting.." She trailed off with her words. I left my mouth agape while being faked shocked, "Woooow." Started laughing and I soon joined in.

Moments later she pulls up to my house and I hopped out and soon after I heard her door open. "Where are you going?" I turned around and looked at her with my eyebrow lifted up. "I just wanted to walk you to your door, that's all.." She continued walking. I sighed and continued to pull my keys out. "You know that's not necessary right? I'm pretty capable of walking 15ft by myself." I said while unlocking the door. "Nothings wrong with trying to make sure you're okay. Maybe a killer squirrel could've come out of nowhere and attack you or something. This world is crazy ya know." I rolled my eyes and chuckled. "Mhmm tell me anything, well see you later Jas." "See ya S- wait did you give me a nickn-" Before she could finish I slammed the door.
