Soojin pulled into the parking lot of the small diner across the street from Universe Cafe. It was a very retro styled type of building and had been around for a while. She glanced up at the bright sign: Red Flavor. Before entering to meet up with Chanyeol, Soojin pulled out her phone to message Jun-Oh. Though, she knew that once Jun-Oh had her mind set, she would not be convinced otherwise.
Soojin: Junnieeee you cant just hide forever.
Jun-Oh: I have wrapped myself up with a bunch of blankets that I will never crawl out of in fear that I'll run into him.
Soojin: Junnieeee just go get something from the cafe and tell Kyungsoo what happened. Then ask for his number again.
Jun-Oh: I'm not going to do that. Don't you know hOW AWKWARD THAT WOULD BE?
Soojin: Okay okay, fine. But he seemed interested in you :(
Jun-Oh: Just let me sulk in my blankets.
Soojin closed out of her messages with a sigh, but she then smiled, remembering the plan she was about to discuss with Chanyeol. Soojin slid her phone into her pocket and headed into the Red Flavor diner.
Upon entering, Soojin immediately spotted Chanyeol already seated with menus and Chen sitting next to him. Chanyeol waved to her.
"Hey," Soojin greeted as she took the seat across from the two guys. "Any ideas yet?"
Chanyeol set down the menu he was looking at while his expression lit up. "We were talking about the festival coming to town next week."
"Ooh," Soojin started to feel excitement, "This already sounds good."
"People who work at Universe Cafe are signed up to work at different booths that will be there," Chanyeol started. "The company that sponsors this festival is called Limitless and apparently our company is connected to them; therefore, we are scheduled to help. All of us employees have certain time slots." Chanyeol pulled out his phone and began searching for pictures he had taken. Then, he carefully slid it across the table for Soojin to see. "Scroll through those pictures."
Soojin zoomed in on the picture of a sheet of paper. It revealed some of the time slots each employee had at each booth. The ones following continued this schedule.
"You can bring Jun-Oh to the festival and take her to his booths during his time slots. I'll be working with him the whole time, so you help out Jun-Oh while I help out Kyungsoo," Chanyeol told Soojin. "Then they have to at least acknowledge each other. Later, when they set off the fireworks, we can get them to sit next to each other. When the fireworks go off, they'll see each other—"
Chanyeol stopped talking as Soojin started to giggle. She covered her mouth, glancing up from the phone.
"What?" Chanyeol questioned.
Soojin held up Chanyeol's phone to reveal a selfie of himself
"Selfie game is strong," Soojin chuckled. "Cute antlers."
Chanyeol took the phone away, closing out of pictures with Chen looking over his shoulder. "Ah, you scrolled too far," he mumbled a bit embarrassed.
Still amused, Soojin directed back to the point of this meeting. "I like the idea. I hope it's enough to get them to actually talk. We can't let them leave the festival without a conversation sparking up between the two."
"This is great," Chen put in. "I'm glad I could come." He took a big sip of the sweet tea in front of him.
"Keep trying to get Jun-Oh to come to the cafe even though we have this plan," Chanyeol told Soojin. "Maybe we can get something going beforehand just so we're a couple steps ahead of the plan."
"Got it." Soojin gave a quick nod.
A cheery waitress came walking up to the table with the name 'Joy' written on her name tag. "May I start you off with a drink, ma'am?" she asked Soojin.
"Oh no, sorry I just stopped by to talk. I'm on my way out now. Thank you." Soojin began to stand up from the table.
"Hang on," Chanyeol stopped her. "Why don't you stay? We can talk more about this plan." He paused, raising an eyebrow. "The food is on me."
"Are you sure?"
"Of course." Chanyeol flashed a smile.
Soojin tilted her head, thinking for a second. "Alright." She returned a smile and sat back down.
