Chapter 6
"Ugh..." Andrew was barely hanging on to Luke right now. His paws were sweaty; they were loosening his grip. "Man, maybe Rai or Zuri should've pulled you to the hospital."
"Probably Rai..." The Eevee groaned, his eyes closed. "...She can run the fastest, and we probably would've been there by now. No offense."
"None taken." The Pikachu replied while using his arms to hold him. It was barely enough for him to use his head as support. "That girl can run like hell."
"Speaking of... You two seem to have gotten close." Luke remarked, "Did anything happen while I was out last night? Or earlier today?"
The mouse Pokemon shook his head. "Nah. We were just talking about stuff."
"Stuff?" The Eevee inquired confusedly, "What type of stuff are we talking about? Like how you were cuddling this morning?"
A blush came over him as he looked at the treeline above. "Y-Yeah... Exactly like that." He immediately tripped on another rock, taking most of the damage. "S-Sorry, I just need a break."
"It's fine." Luke spoke, looking around the area. "I'm actually feeling a little better, despite not having my bandages on, and despite the searing pain in my head. That Helping Hand took a lot out of me..."
"You learned Helping Hand?" The Pikachu asked, surprised. "...That's pretty awesome, buddy. I'm proud of you..." Andrew moved his eyes to the Eevee's muzzle. "How did you get rid of some of the pain, though?"
"No clue." The Eevee answered quickly, giving a blank stare. "I guess helping Zuri win made me feel a lot better."
"As cute and thoughtful that sounds..." A voice spoke, startling the duo. "That really isn't the case, Luke."
Andrew's eyes blinked for a second before going back to the treeline. "W-Who's there?" The Pikachu asked, a bit blunt. "Are you going to kill us?"
"That's pretty ironic, considering what I did with Luke." The voice giggled, "But no, I'm not gonna kill you two."
"'Did with Luke'?" Andrew placed the Eevee down softly. "You mean you healed him?" He stood up to try and find this creature, and wherever he's hiding.
"Revived is the more accurate word." The voice got closer, appearing to be a Jirachi. "But yes I did."
"Revived?" Luke's ears shot up. "I was... Dead? No wonder why I blacked out like that..."
"Wait a second, I thought if you died, there's no going back." His ears perked up when he heard an earlier statement. "H-How did you know Luke's name? We've never met you."
"Yes, we never met. But I've been watching you the whole time." He replied, "From the very first wish you made, to the wish Luke just made."
"Wait, I..." Andrew's head moved down to look at his paws. "I wished for the adventure of a lifetime. So we can write it together."
"Exactly." Jirachi nodded, a smile on his face. "Then Luke made a wish to stay alive so he could spend more time with that Zuri girl."
"I mentioned Andrew and Rai, too!" The Eevee shouted, his face turning red. "Why do you only think about the Zuri part?" He whimpered in embarrassment.
"I only heard the Zuri part." He teased, closing his eyes dismissively. "I've been watching you two the whole time, and I was sure that you two would've been together. Even Andrew got a kiss on the cheek."
"Hey!" The Pikachu pouted while crossing my arms. "In my defense, I loved that kiss..." Andrew's throat cleared as he looked at the Jirachi. "If you granted my wish, does that mean you turned me and Luke into Pokémon?"
"Yes I did, I thought that was clear." The Jirachi answered quickly. "I already know you're gonna ask why, so I'll tell you. I grant wishes."
Luke could see the gleaming eyes Andrew just spawned, as he tried to jump up to the Jirachi to give him a hug. "Oh thank you, thank you! Thank you!"
The Jirachi flew upwards so Andrew couldn't reach him. "It's no problem, just don't squeeze me to death."
As the Pikachu slowly fell to the floor, something made him confused. "Wait, so why did you bring us to this exact world? With a nuzlocke environment?"
"You said you wanted an adventure." He answered blankly.
"Well you could've at least put us somewhere that wouldn't almost kill me..." The Eevee remarked, still on the ground. "I feel like I'm constantly fighting for my life."
"Again, you wouldn't have met Zuri." the Jirachi retorted calmly. "You wouldn't have the bandages, but you wouldn't have met her."
"...And I wouldn't have met Rai." Andrew mumbled to himself. "I'm just... What happened to this world? Mystery Dungeon isn't like this!"
"Experiments, conflicts between cities, other things that would take too long to explain here." He replied, "But right now, you two still need to get to the hospital. Luke's still in critical condition."
"Again, should've been Rai. It would've been shorter." The Eevee remarked, "And at least it would feel shorter with Zuri..." He looked away. "Kinda miss being around her, to be honest."
"Don't worry, Luke." The Jirachi patted his head. "You'll see her again soon. You too, Andrew. I know you've thought about that Riolu girl once or twice."
"Don't push it." Andrew replied while picking up Luke again. "You don't mind teleporting me and Luke nearby the hospital, right?"
"Not at all." Jirachi smiled, "I'll teleport the other two as well if you want." He put a hand on both Pokémon.
"...Luke that's your decision." The Pikachu told his best friend. "Do you think Jirachi should?"
"If he should teleport us, or teleport Zuri and Rai?" Luke asked, "You've gotta specify these things, Dude..."
He sighed while shaking his head. "Jirachi, just teleport us. Tell Zuri and Rai about what happened, and they'll make the decision."
"Oh, and tell Zuri that I'm still alive." The Eevee smiled softly. "She doesn't really want me to die."
"Very well." The Jirachi nodded calmly. "First, to the hospital. Close your eyes, things can get pretty disorienting."
Andrew and Luke nodded, closing their eyes. "Are we gonna see you again?"
"Of course you will. I'll always be with you." He smiled, "You can open your eyes now." The two opened their eyes to see that they were now in front of the hospital in Wennel City.
The Pikachu decided to use one of his paws to feel around his chest area. "Huh, no stomachs turning inside out."
***
Luke was currently laying near the same room as last time. Andrew sighed deeply. "I think I got a concussion earlier," he remarked while covering one of his ears.
"Now we're both injured, huh?" The Eevee asked, a weak smile spread on his face. "It hurts, doesn't it?"
"Hurts like crazy...," the mouse Pokemon responded while groaning. "Probably should get a nurse to inspect me." The Pikachu stood up and began walking. "Should I go check myself out?"
"Yeah, you probably should." The evolution Pokemon replied, "I'll be fine here, I just need some rest." He pointed to bandages that were freshly wrapped around his head and some of his ears.
Andrew gave a thumbs up and started limping towards the other room. A few minutes later, Luke could hear a collateral of Pokemon running in a direction towards the hospital unknowing of. An Arcanine could be seen opening Luke's room door, and shutting it when he went inside. He covered any windows going inside and out. "Phew..."
"Um... 'Sup?" Luke greeted confusedly, giving the Arcanine a blank smile. "...Are you a doctor or nurse or something?"
The Arcanine turned the Eevee, who gave a quick wave, before blinking quickly. "Sorry, I thought this room was abandoned. Do you mind if I stay here for a few minutes?" His voice was deep, but smooth.
"It's fine." The Eevee nodded slowly. "So, um... How's the wife, Phil?" He began to sweat nervously.
"Firstly, it's Quincy." The Arcanine responded while sitting on a bigger seat. "And second... She's fine, I guess." Quincy's paw was placed on his lower muzzle. "It seems like you don't know about me."
"He actually has a wife?" Luke asked subconsciously. "Yeah, I don't know who you are. I'm Luke, by the way."
The legendary Pokemon nodded in agreement. "Nice to meet you, Luke... I'm gonna sound crazy, so please believe me." Quincy moved towards the little Eevee. "I'm the president of Wennel City."
"Oh, that's cool." The evolution Pokemon remarked with a sigh. "That's why you were getting chased, right?"
He was debating for a few seconds before nodding. "Yeah. Some Lopunny decided to call me down to this hospital to find an Eevee and a Pikachu. Not sure why though."
"No! Not her!" The Eevee screamed, kicking his legs violently. "Anyone but her! Get out! Get out!"
"Hey, relax." The Arcanine tried to calm Luke down. "That Lopunny isn't coming by. She's apparently busy..." Quincy placed his paws on the side of the bed. "So you're the Eevee, I presume."
"Yes I'm the Eevee, what do you want with me?" Luke pulled his covers up to his face. "Why did she get the president to come here?"
"Well, apparently, there's a few questions she forgot to ask. That and she's given me this paper." The Arcanine took out a white sheet of paper before reading the first note silently. "A human? Are you two human or something?"
The door suddenly opened to reveal Andrew walking in casually. "Apparently, I don't have a concussion! That's a..." He paused to notice Quincy.
"Is he the Pikachu?" The Arcanine asked the Eevee. "Just making sure."
"Yes. Quincy, meet Andrew." He pointed to the Pikachu. "Andrew, meet the sorta-Legendary Pokemon, Quincy."
"Nice to meet you, I guess." The Legendary Pokemon turned his attention back to the Eevee. "Do you mind answering my earlier question?"
"Yes, we're human." Luke answered honestly before mumbling something. "...I learned my lesson about lying about it..."
The Pikachu's eyes widened as he closed the door. "Wait a second, who exactly is he?"
"Regardless, first question to the Pikachu: how did you get here? Note: if he says the correct thing, you'll remember the legend."
As Quincy and Luke looked at Andrew, extreme confusion came in his face. "What the heck is going on? Who are you?"
"Legend?" the Eevee thought confusedly, his brows lowering. "What is Loli trying to reference? Andrew has a right to be asking that..."
"Do you mind just answering this question?" The Arcanine shouted while moving closer. "I'm the president of Wennel City..."
"Yeah, we get it..." Luke sarcastically mumbled, "...No need to flex about it." The Eevee let out a sigh. "I hope Zuri and Rai are doing better than us... I hope they get here soon."
"Sorry." Quincy placed a paw behind his back. "So do you mind answering?"
The Pikachu slowly nodded after an exasperated sigh. "Fine. I made a wish to Jirachi, and he granted it by turning the two of us to Pokémon."
"Then this fiasco happened." The Eevee continued, looking away. "Man... Now that I'm thinking about it, it's almost been two days since we got here. So much has happened..."
The three of them could hear footsteps approaching, so Quincy placed a paw on his muzzle and asked, "Do you guys know about the Hundred Year Trainer Curse?" Before anyone could answer, a Riolu and a Zoura walked in, their bodies more concerned for Luke than it was for Quincy.
"Jirachi sent you guys here!?" Zuri asked while staring at the evolution Pokemon. "Who made the wish?"
"Zuri!" The Eevee exclaimed happily, his tail beginning to wag quickly. "Thank god that they didn't run into any other hostile Pokemon..."
"Hi Luke!" The Zoura hopped onto the hospital bed, a grin coming out of her. "Are you alright?"
"I'm doing better now..." He answered, unconsciously hugging her. "I was a little worried that you guys might've been attacked again..."
Andrew decided to sit down on one of the chairs near the door. "Why are you so worried? They're Rai and Zuri for Pete's sake..." The Pikachu waved toward the Riolu. "Hi Rai."
"Hey 'Drew!" The Riolu greeted, petting his head. "Happy to see you! Anyways, who's the Arcanine?"
Quincy could be heard mumbling something while going into the corner of the room. "That's Quincy," Andrew responded while unconsciously nuzzling Rai's muzzle. "He's asking questions about why we're here..."
"Mhm..." Rai nodded, picking the Pikachu up and nuzzling him more affectionately. "I thought you two were done with that part."
He shook his head while closing his eyes. "Yeah, I guess not. Loli sent him, and apparently he's the leader of this city."
"Are you two done?" The Arcanine asked. "This is pretty awkward, you know."
"Oh, but Zuri and Luke get a pass?" Rai asked stubbornly, gesturing to them, who were still hugging. "How's that fair?"
The two were still having their deep moment, making him sigh. "Okay, can we do this outside then?" Quincy asked while starting to move outside.
"Good luck with that, Andrew." The Eevee spoke, nuzzling his cheek into Zuri's. "I'll be fine over here." The Zoura didn't say anything, since she was caught in the moment.
Andrew gave a quick wave to Luke while going outside. "Rai, you're coming with," he said while grabbing her paw.
"Make a move, Zuri!" The Riolu exclaimed, getting pulled out of the move. "This is a good chance to, okay?"
As they went outside, Zuri heard the sentence Rai just made. "H-Hey Luke?" She stated while releasing the hug. "Here's my surprise." Her body leaned towards the two's muzzles, and their lips made contact. "Mm..."
The Eevee's eyes widened, nearly gasping in shock. He was being kissed by a Pokemon. A sentence he never even considered to be possible. Luke's paws wrapped around the Zorua's back as he returned with twice the affection. He finally closed his eyes, a faint moan escaping from his muzzle.
Rai was peeking at the two of them while the Arcanine sat across the hall. "Were you this so called 'trainer' before coming a Pokemon?" He asked to Andrew.
The Pikachu shook his head in disagreement. "Nope. I, uh... Came from a world where Pokemon don't exist. Only as games and stuff."
"Guys..." Rai whispered to the duo, holding back a squeal. "Guys, guys, guys! You gotta check this out, now!"
The Arcanine let out a grumble while Andrew peeked inside. "Wow... I guess Zuri did take her chance."
"Oh, she's reaaaaally taking that chance." The Riolu watched intently. "Man, that's very bold of her to kiss him. Especially like that." Zuri could be seen trying to increase that passion, making Andrew retch loudly. The sound was muffled inside the room, though.
"There's no way I have the stomach for that right now," the Pikachu mumbled toward himself. "No way."
"You don't have to be so dramatic and mean about it." Rai pouted, looking down at Andrew. "If you wanna be like that then I guess I'll never kiss you."
He placed his head on the wall while sitting down. "I never said that. I meant that kissing like that..." Andrew pointed toward the inside of the room. "Is something I can't do right now."
"Ahem." Quincy's arms tried to cross, but failed miserably. "You guys do realize this is an emergency, right? I'm not trying to be rude."
"Okay fine..." The Riolu sighed, "I'll go get some food while you talk to him if it's that important." Rai crouched down before kissing the Pikachu's cheek. "Sounds good?"
Andrew nodded while blushing. "Got it..." The Pikachu waved as Rai ran towards the elevator, avoiding the press along the way. "So what's this legend you're talking about?"
"About one thousand three hundred years ago, there were two human-turned Pokemon, like you and Luke." He began to explain. "A male Oshawott and a female Eevee, the humans turned Pokemon, led a fight against tyranny, and fought Giratina along the way on that path. Are you following?"
He paused to think deeply. "I think so... H-How long has Pokemon been around?" Andrew stated while in shock. "People in my world have known Pokemon for twenty-five years..."
"A long time. No one knows when in specific Pokemon came to be." He answered, "There would be no way to know unless you traveled back to when it all started. The furthest back we could trace was about around a few million years ago."
"Millions of years?" The Pikachu yelled while his eyes widened. "That's... Uh, oh." A Pokémon could be seen peeking towards the two of them. "I think you need to move. Press is coming."
"Arceus damn. I love this city, but man it is aggressive!" The Arcanine began to walk backwards, sweating nervously. "Send my best wishes to Luke regarding his healing." He then bent down to his height. "Andrew, I can see something in you. Don't ever give up on the dreams you hold close. I hope we see each other again!" He quickly rushed off in a slight panic.
"Well that was... Weird." Andrew decided to walk inside the room to see the two of them still kissing. "Guys, you're gonna suffocate yourselves to death! Stop kissing!"
"Hm~?" The Eevee asked, looking at the Pikachu as he softly pulled on Zuri's bottom lip with his teeth. "I completely forgot he was here..." Somehow, the Zorua ended up below Luke, the Eevee ignoring the slight pain from his injury. Luke's paws were rested on Zuri's waist and right cheek, while the Zoura's arms were wrapped around Luke's neck. The Eevee looked down, still pulling a bit on her lip lustfully.
"What's going on~?" Zuri asked while opening her eyes. She noticed Luke being completely in a comfortable position, making her eyes widen. "You're not in pain right now?" She asked while moving her legs to wrap herself with Luke fully.
"Well yes, but this is keeping my mind off of it." The Eevee replied, his paw rubbing her waist. "If I'm in pain, I might as well do this, too." Luke's right paw rubbed the Zorua's cheek as he leaned in and licked her open muzzle.
Her eyes widened as she gave out a blush to him. "L-Luke, that just brightened my day!" Zuri grabbed the Eevee before trying to come for a kiss again. Unfortunately, they were interrupted by Andrew's throat clearing and Rai's dramatic entrance.
"Hiya guys!" The Riolu exclaimed, immediately making the two jump off of each other. "So... Did anything... Particularly special happen while Andrew and I were out?"
"No, nothing much." Luke lied quickly, looking away. "We were just laying around, talking and stuff."
The Pikachu quickly stifled a laugh before opening his mouth. "We knew what happened, but I'm not sharing the rest of it." He turned to Rai, who was giving off a smirk. "You might use it on me if I told you."
As the Zorua and Eevee blushed brightly, Rai gave a cheeky smirk. "Maybe, maybe not." She answered, giving a shrug. "Hey, Zu? Why is there a slight bruise on your bottom lip?"
"There is?" Zuri tried to take a look, but she couldn't see it without a mirror. "Aw, man," she groaned. "My parents are gonna kill me tomorrow."
"Parents?" Luke asked confusedly, wiping off a decent amount of saliva from his muzzle. "She never told me that she had parents... I'm gonna be slaughtered if they find out I did that..."
"I'm with him. What's going on tomorrow?" Andrew asked, his curiosity peaked. Surprisingly, Rai didn't seem surprised.
"Well you see a close cousin of mine, Cody, is celebrating his tenth birthday." She told him. "So my mom wanted me to come as a family member and Zuri and her family to come because she's like family, too."
Luke's paw nervously played with Zuri's paw unconsciously. "Okay, I mean, I've almost died before. It's not like it'll be... Too bad when Zuri's parents rip me limb from limb..."
"Hey, this is the perfect opportunity to get to know your families!" Andrew jumped in the air as Zuri moved down from the bed. "Luke, are you in?"
He watched the Zorua jump down from the bed before looking back over to Andrew. "I guess." He smiled weakly. "Let's do it."
