Chapter 3
Zuri quickly walked ahead of Andrew and Rai, who remained silent. The Riolu wore a carefree smile, while the male Pikachu's eyes darted around, occasionally at Rai. "So... Lie detectors, huh?" The Riolu asked in a carefree manner. "Those things really mess you up."
"No kidding," The Pikachu replied with a bit of a nervous smile. "I have a weird fear about lie detectors, especially since they're also in my world."
"Well either way, I'm glad you guys passed." Rai smiled, "I'm pretty sure Luke and Zuri have a little thing for each other." Her smile evolved into a more coy one.
Andrew laughed for a few seconds. "No kidding. I could see that a mile away...!" He quickly looked away for a few seconds. "Well, I'm just hoping this crush is not too obvious then..."
"Aside from them, I'm glad that you passed, too." The Riolu continued. "You seem like a pretty cool guy."
"Well, I couldn't say that," He responded while placing a paw behind his back. "The only thing I'm actually known for is my writing. Which is kinda how I met Luke."
"Writing?" She tilted her head in confusion. "You met Luke through writing? You could've fooled me, you two seem like the best of friends."
The Pikachu shrugged before looking ahead. "I know... I guess you could say we really hit it off after reading each other's first books, and emailing each other."
"Hm... That sounds nice." Rai smiled once again. "But now, we're all friends! And you two aren't criminals!" The Riolu danced a bit as she walked. "How cool is that?"
"I guess it's pretty awesome!" The Pikachu closed his eyes to imagine beats playing in his ear, for the sake of old times.
"So..." Rai asked, her eyes drifting away. "Do you guys have anything to do after Luke leaves the infirmary?"
Andrew thought to himself for a moment while the beat was still playing. "Actually, no we don't," he replied while realizing his reality right now. "I, uh... We don't have anywhere to go, anything to do, really."
"Well, how about you two join Zuri and I's team?" The Riolu put a paw on the back of her head in a bit of nervousness. "We need more teammates, and who better to ask than you two?"
The Pikachu suddenly stopped before looking at the Riolu confused. "W-We don't know any moves. Why would you want us to join you and Zuri?"
"There's a few reasons, actually." She responded. "One, we're friends. Two, Zuri and Luke's thing for each other. Three, it'd be a lot of fun. Four, I'd really like to know you better." Rai stopped for a moment with a small smile before continuing. "Who cares about moves? You can always learn them sometime or another."
"If you put it that way..." Andrew responded while rubbing his nose. "I'll have to concur with Luke, but I'm in."
"Yay! Thank you, thank you!" She excitedly scooped the male Pikachu up before hugging him with a cheerful nuzzle. "You're the best, Andrew!" When Rai placed him down, Andrew started becoming a bit wobbly while giving off a red blush.
"H-How did that feel amazing?" He thought to himself while his paws started twitching. "Y-You're welcome, I guess."
"Now let's get to the infirmary!" The Riolu pointed forward before beginning to run. "We gotta ask Luke if he wants to join, too!"
She sped towards the distance, surprising Andrew. "...Holy crap, she is as fast as Zuri stated... Wait up!" The Pikachu dropped down before starting to run in the same direction.

A familiar Zoura ran inside to notice the front desk. A Chansey and Audino were welcoming and saying goodbye to patients. "H-Hey, Ms. Audino, Ms. Chansey? Which room is a Lucario with an Eevee in?" Zuri asked both of the nurses. "The Eevee is the one who's getting treated."
"The one you must be looking for is Luke, correct?" The Chansey asked, earning a quick nod from the female Zorua. "He's currently in room..." She quickly checked a piece of paper to her left. "...Room 404."
"Thanks!" Zuri ran towards the elevator, tapping on the floor Luke was in. "Fourth floor, here I come!" The Zorua walked into the elevator before letting out a brief and exasperated sigh, looking at the glowing button on the side, aimed for floor four. The metallic doors shut and the elevator began to rise quickly.
"...Rai!" A Pikachu yelled in the distance, panting loudly. He was still chasing the Riolu, who was much faster than him. "You gotta stop running, I'm gonna pass out!"
"Well it's no use now." She pouted, picking the exhausted Pikachu up and carrying him. "The elevator doors just closed. At least that gives Zuri some alone time with Luke so she wins there..."
"Okay, can I ask the question if I'm not being rude?" Andrew looked up at the Riolu while softly blushing, "How did you meet Zuri?"
"Friends since hatch." She smiled, looking back down at him as she played with one of his ears. "I've known her my whole life, so I guess I met her when our parents showed us to each other."
"Wow," The Pikachu chuckled while twitching a bit. "...When did you even form an exploration team with her?"
"Zuri was always so enthusiastic about forming one, so we just did one day." The Riolu replied. "Nothing special." The Pikachu nodded to Rai's answer and looked forward the rest of the way..
Meanwhile, the familiar Zoura's elevator finally reached the floor, making her run toward the hospital room. "Room 401... 402... 404!" She mumbled to herself before entering that specific room. "I'm finally here...," She said out loud while panting.
A familiar Eevee could hear an indistinct voice from outside the room, making his ears perk up before he flinched in pain. "Ow... Who's that?"
"Hi, Luke." Zuri placed the tip of her muzzle right next to Luke's face. "It's Zuri. How are you doing?"
"Well, the nurses told me that the Aura Sphere damaged my skull... Hence the bandages." The Eevee pointed to the bandages wrapped around his head and some of his ears. "And they also said that the electrocution caused a bit of temporary brain damage. Bit of temporary brain damage. Oh and also the temporary brain damage."
The Zoura started chuckling softly to Luke's minor speech problem. "That's a lot all from Brandy's Aura Sphere and electricity."
"Yeah..." Luke smiled softly, "...But I'm just glad to see you again. After what happened, I was sure that you two wouldn't want to be around us..." The Eevee put a paw where he assumed was where his heart was.
"What are you talking about?" Zuri decided to place a paw on top of his paw before grinning. "You being from another world is even cooler than a Blizzard!"
"It isn't that cool, you know?" The Eevee blushed softly, looking away with a smile. "Not when that other world has no attacks or moves." Luke let out a sigh. "Either way, you're a lot cooler than I am."
"Really?" Her head popped up surprised. "...I mean, how am I cooler than you?"
"This is the fourth floor, Zuri." Luke replied, "I got administered into this room half an hour ago. Based on the distance, you must've immediately come here without worrying about food or anything. That's pretty cool."
The Zoura's face could be seen with a red tint. "Well, I wasn't hungry though... I just wanted to see if you were alright, Luke." Brandy the Lucario could be seen entering the room, but immediately exiting it when seeing Zuri and the Eevee talking to one another.
"I'm alright... Sort of." The Eevee looked away with a smile. "But, you know you gotta eat, if you're lying about not being hungry."
A large grumble came in her stomach, making Zuri laugh while looking down. "Alright, I'll get some food for everyone then. Don't die on me." She hopped down the bed and waved while leaving the room.
"Zuri?" The Eevee asked, peaking her attention. She turned back for a moment to see Luke. "Thank you..."
The Zoura grinned at the Eevee. "You're welcome, Luke." She quickly started running towards the elevator again, where Andrew and Rai were inside currently going up.
When the elevator door opened, the Riolu developed a confident smile. "...So Zuri, how was the visit?" She asked, "Have fun?"
"I'm fine now." Zuri tried to give a smile. "I'm just gonna stop by the cafeteria for lunch. You two want something?"
"Well we're here to check up on Luke." Rai replied, "Oh and by the way, I was gonna ask Luke if he could join our team." She gave a smile. "If that's fine with you."
"Oh, that's totally fine!" She replied while the three of them switched places. "If you're not wanting anything, I'm just gonna get Oran Curry for everyone." Zuri quickly stated that because the elevator door was closing. "Bye!"
"Later!" Rai waved. "Hey Andrew, do you want me to put you down now?" The Riolu looked down at the Pikachu, who she was still carrying.
"Please do," Andrew responded while getting a bit woozy. "I think my stamina is fine now..." As she was placing the Pikachu down, he looked up. "What's Oran Curry?"
"Oh it's just the best food ever!" Rai exclaimed happily, "It's like regular curry, but it has diced oran berries in it, mixing flavors together that you'd never expect to taste good."
"I haven't had curry before, so... Might as well try it when she comes back." Andrew starts walking along the hall, taking in the surroundings. "Man this place really looks like a human hospital."
"Those look the same as the ones here?" The female Riolu asked, walking beside him. "That's weird... But let's be honest, all of today is weird."
"No kidding." The Pikachu finally arrived in Room 404, where the Eevee was still lying face up. "'Sup Luke... Hi Brandy." The Lucario waved for a few seconds while biting off a Pecha Berry raw.
"Oh hey Andrew, hey Rai." Luke sat up to see the Pikachu and Riolu. "You guys came to visit me too. Thanks a lot!"
"Well, I think we were gonna have to visit you anyway." Andrew placed a paw on his shoulder. "Either way, Rai has a question to ask you before I try curry for the first time."
"What is it Rai?" The Eevee looked over to her. "Is it good news or bad news?"
"Good." The Riolu chucked before clearing her throat. "I wanted you and Andrew to join Zuri and I's team." She put a paw behind her head.
"I would love to!" Luke jumped up from his bed before crippling to the floor in pain. "Why did I do that? Ow... Someone help me back into bed."
The Pikachu sighed. "I got it..." It took about a minute, but Andrew was able to find a grip to lift the Eevee back to the bed. "You know, we never got the name for your team. What is it?"
"Well Zuri came up with 'United we Stand.'" Rai answered. "So we went with that as our team name."
"Well that sounds alright," Andrew nodded in response. "And I'm not making an opinion on that because I suck at team names."
"Yeah same." Luke remarked, "So anyways, Zuri went to go get food, right?"
A few footsteps came in the distance. "I sure did!" A familiar Zoura's muzzle was muffled since she was holding a bag with her mouth. "Oran Curry for everyone!"
"Oh thanks, Zuri!" Rai smiled enthusiastically as Zuri handed one over to her. "I can't wait to have this in my stomach!"
"Luke do you want one?" Andrew turned to the Eevee while the Zoura passed him one of the curry. "...Wait, do we even have spoons to eat this?"
"Nope, you just dig in!" The Riolu laughed, "So just... Eat it." Rai stuffed her face into the bowl before beginning to eat.
"How the heck am I supposed to do that?" Luke's eyes widened, "I get hurt everytime I move just a little!"
Zuri placed the rest of the bag on a table. "Well you can open your mouth to eat while someone else holds the bowl in front of you." No one noticed a blush approaching her.
"Hmm..." The Pikachu started sniffing the bowl Zuri gave him. "Smells good..." He quickly licked inside the bowl a few times. His eyes immediately widened while looking at the bowl. "Oh my God, that tastes amazing!"
"I know, right?" Rai asked, her mouth covered in food. "It's amazing!"
Meanwhile, Luke was pushing his paws together nervously. "Well there's no one in specific who I'd ask to feed me, per say..." A small red tint covered his cheeks.
"I-I'll do it!" Zuri shouted while grabbing another bowl. "I-I mean, I can do it for you." She leaned in the bowl just enough for the Eevee to start licking on it.
"Ha!" Brandy started laughing in the doorway. "You two seriously aren't trying to make it hidden. I like it."
The comment made Luke choke on his food a bit before he looked over to the Lucario. "H-Hey! Don't say that!"
The tallest Pokémon in the room shrugged. "I'm just stating the facts, Luke... Also congrats on the new members, Zuri and Sis."
"Thanks, Brandy," the Zoura responded while looking at him. "You know, if you weren't Rai's brother, I would have tried to kill you making that comment."
The Eevee whimpered in embarrassment before continuing to eat, a bit slower. "This is actually pretty good, though." Luke looked back up with a small blush.
"Of course it's good!" Zuri grinned at him. "It is my favorite food of all time!"
"I think it might be mine now, too." The evolution Pokémon chuckled embarrassedly. "For more reasons than just the taste."
Andrew sighed while a cold sweat ran down the Eevee's head. "I know it's too soon to ask about this, but where are we gonna live?" The Pikachu looked around for an answer. "I'm just asking for a clear idea."
"Well there's the guild room we have." Rai answered, "It has enough space for at least ten fully evolved Pokémon, so we'll be fine."
The mouse Pokémon sighed of relief after finishing all his curry. "Alright, I rather wait for Luke to get discharged before we head over to this guild."
"No, no. It's fine." Luke smiled weakly. "I wouldn't want to hold you guys back. You guys can head over, then pick me up when I get discharged."
"Luke..." The Zoura peeked to come into his view. "I think the three of us rather wait so you and Andrew can give the same reaction at the same time... I would rather wait for you, really."
"It's really not a big deal, Zuri." The Eevee looked away nervously. "I think this place has a Pokémon per night limit, anyways."
Andrew shook his head, disagreeing while walking towards the bed. "You know, I actually agree with her right now, I seriously rather wait."
Luke gave a deadpan expression as he slipped under his blankets. "...Fine then, whatever." He spoke from under the covers. "But what will you do about the Pokémon limit?"
"I'm sure you'll get out before the Pokémon limit is established."
***
It was currently sunset, Andrew was barely carrying the Eevee when the four of them walked out of the infirmary. "I can't believe they kicked us out!" The Pikachu shouted out loud for the rest of them to hear.
"I told you guys!" Luke shouted, wincing in pain. "Look, I really appreciate the gesture and how..." He looked to Zuri for a moment. "...You guys wanted to stay, but sometimes you gotta listen to me."
"Well, we tried and failed as a team," The Zoura shrugged before walking along the two male Pokémon. "At least Brandy left before we did."
"Right..." The Eevee rolled his eyes. "...Let's just get to the guild before I pass out from pain."
"You got it!" The Pikachu yelled while going in a random direction. He suddenly paused before turning back to the Riolu and Zorua. "...Where's the guild? I have no idea where it is."
"Okay hand me Luke, and follow me!" Rai spoke up, softly grabbing the Eevee and beginning to run. "I'll get you home really quick. Don't worry, Luke!"
"Rai, don't run!" The Zoura yelled before she started to go supersonic. "Agh! She always does this! Follow me." Andrew nodded before running along with Zuri. "Come back, you two!"
The Pikachu closed his eyes before starting to glow a bit of white. "Gotta catch up. Gotta catch up!" Andrew unknowingly started running twice as fast the Riolu was, nearly catching up with her. "Rai, stop running!"
"Huh?" The Riolu looked back at Andrew as she ran. "Oh my Arceus, Andrew look at you! You're using an attack! And so fast, too."
"What are you talking about?" He looked down at his paws glowing white. "...Quick Attack? That's pretty ironic." The Pikachu looked at the Eevee, who was closing his eyes from the speed. "Luke, I'm using a move!"
"Yeah... Congrats, dude." He smiled, opening an eye in a slight amount of pain. "So... Are we there yet?" Suddenly a Zoura zoomed by Andrew, creating a bigger tailwind than the Pikachu did.
"It's not that far from here!" Zuri yelled before turning right a few seconds later. "Down this block."
"Thank Arceus..." The Eevee whimpered in pain. "...I just want to lay down somewhere and die to death." After a minute of everyone running, Rai and Zuri stopped in front of the guild, cheering at each other.
Andrew, however, was screaming sliding across the crossway before hitting a lightpost. "Ow!" The mouse Pokémon fell onto the floor before laughing at himself. "I guess the brakes need some work."
"No kidding." Luke remarked, grimacing in second-hand pain. "That wasn't the best landing."
As the Pikachu was cleaning himself up, the Zoura looked at everyone. "Luke and Andrew, welcome to the Wennel City Guild."
